Oakland Cottage, a Bed & Breakfast with a convenient in town location, 1.5 miles to the entrance of the Biltmore Estate and Downtown Asheville, just off Biltmore Avenue. Ambience abounds in this 1910, Arts & Crafts style "Cottage". Reserve a Suite: each of the five Suites has two spacious & family friendly rooms, a private full bath, hairdryer, soaps & shampoos, robes, coffee maker, cable TV, some with mini-fridge, microwave & private deck. We also have 2 great value rooms; The Rose Suite rooms may be reserved independently of each other by locking the access door between the two rooms. Each of the Rose Rooms has our standard amenities described above and a full and private bath (Rose Suite is a 2 BR 2 Bath Suite). Or, reserve The Whole Cottage(excepting the Inn Keeper's Apartment). With a capacity for up to 20 guests, the Cottage is perfect for family & friend gatherings, wedding groups & small retreat style meetings. Large common areas provide additional indoor & outdoor guest space, as well as added conveniences, including a full amenity kitchen & guest-use laundry room.

    From I-40 traveling east or west, take exit #50, following signs to AB-Tech & Biltmore Estate by merging onto Biltmore Avenue & traveling North towards downtown Asheville. Stay on Biltmore Avenue and in the right hand lane through Biltmore Village (entrance to Biltmore Estate will be in the left hand turn lane - DO NOT TURN LEFT). Proceed North on Biltmore Avenue for approximately 2 miles from the I-40 exit. Pass the emergency entrance to Mission Memorial Hospital on your left (St. Joseph's Hospital will be looming on your right). Take the next quick left at a light onto Victoria Road. Go about .4 miles. Turn right onto Oakland Road. Go another 200 yards. #74 Oakland Cottage is on the right. Park in the Circular white peppled drive out front.

    About 15 minutes or 13 total miles. The Asheville Airport is just off exit #9 on I-26. Get on I-26 West, heading towards Asheville. In 9 miles, follow signs to I-40 East (Statesville). Take the I-40 East exit ramp and merge onto I-40. From I-40 traveling east, follow directions above.

The Whole Cottage, 100% refundable 60 days or more in advance of the reservation date, minus a $35.00 booking fee. Payment due in full & non-refundable 60 days prior to the reservation date.

    Walk into the welcoming, spacious & gracious front entry, living, dining and gathering space with gas burning fireplace. Abundant charming windows & delightful Arts&Crafts features throughout the Cottage provide character & ambience to your stay at Oakland.Another view of the large front entry & living area of Oakland Cottage - a wonderful space in which to lounge by the gas fireplace, work a puzzle, read a book or play chess. Each morning, a full breakfast is available & served in the Dining Room area.
    Enjoy the many additional common areas of Oakland Cottage - relax on the front porch or back deck.Take advantage of our full-amenity guest-use Kitchen - and enjoy the deck right out the back kitchen door (with charcoal grill).
    The Garden Suite is the largest of the 4 Suites. Pictured here is the wonderful master bedroom with king bed and two twins. Access to a private deck is through sliding glass doors. The second bedroom is through French doors and it has a charming double bed. An small entry foyer to this suite has extra amenities such as a mini-fridge, microwave & coffee-maker.The smaller bedroom of the Garden Suite with Queen Bed
    The main room of the Safari Suite has a Queen bed. Walk through double French doors into the "Sunroom" of this Suite in which one or twin beds may be set. Mini-fridge & microwave are additional amenities in a nook off the sunroom. Additional amenities include Coffee-maker, Cable TV & private full bath, soaps, shampoos & bathrobes.Entry room of the Music Suite with Blue Toile - comfortable sitting area with Cable TV, Coffee Maker, breakfast table, or with a daybed & trundle, this room may expand for additional guests.

    The Safari Suite - with just a touch of Jungle! This is the Queen bedroom with settee/ living area & cable TV. There is a twin bed situated in the gabled window nook. The second room is accessed through double French doors. A large & sunny bay window overlooks the front yard. There is a Daybed with Trundle that may be made up as two twins, or as a King Bed. This room also contains a mini-fridge, microwave & coffee maker. The full bath with clawfoot tub is accessed through the second room.
    besides a lovely full breakfast, homebaked sweetbreads and a cereal bar are also available each morning.Add a trolley tour of Asheville to your stay at Oakland Cottage - have tickets in your room upon arrival, or purchase them there after you arrive.
    The Dogwood Suite is located on the first floor and has a bath with large step-in shower & lovely tile detail. This two room Suite may be accessed from inside the B&B and also from a private outside entry off its own little front porch with bistro table & chairs. Queen bed in main room and twin bed in second room.
