Welcome to the 1900 Inn on Montford, a AAA Four Diamond Bed and Breakfast. We have four rooms and a suite in the main house and two suites and a guest room in our pet-friendly carriage house, Griffin Cottage. King size beds, fireplaces, whirlpools, and steam baths.
Zeldas Retreat is an 1100 sq ft 5-room suite on the third floor of the Inn. Three fireplaces, private deck and entrance, wet bar with microwave, coffee/tea maker and refrigerator make this a secluded place to relax. A second sitting room has a 40 inch HDTV, DVD player and comfortable seating.
The bedroom in Zeldas Retreat has a king size bed and armoire for clothes. To the left is the wet bar in the living room.
The shower in Zeldas Retreat is thermostatically controlled with seven body jets and a steam bath.
The all-marble bathroom is the highlight of Zeldas Retreat with a two person whirlpool, fireplace, and two person shower. You may never want to leave!
Griffin Cottage is our new carriage house to the rear of the main inn. It contains three pet-friendly units with enclosed gardens - the William Morris and Rossetti on the ground floor, and the Cloisters on the second floor. The Spa Room in the Cloisters is above the porte cochere.
The Cloisters is our 1300 sq ft suite on the second floor of our carriage house, Griffin Cottage. The 24 x 20 ft living room features a 50" Plasma HDTV over the fireplace, a butler's station with refrigerator, convection/microwave, coffee/tea maker, HD Satellite receiver and DVD player.
The 6' x 8' shower in the Cloisters features multiple body jets and a rain head shower. Two pull-down seats allow you to enjoy your steam bath.
The Spa room in the Cloisters contains a spectacular two-person whirlpool with an airbath and 12-jet shiatsu massage, a fireplace, and fresh plants.
The bedroom in the Cloisters has a king size bed. A push of a button by the bed conveniently turns off all the lights in the suite for a comfortable night's rest! And, if you would like to watch a DVD before you fall asleep, a 40 inch HDTV rises from the credenza.
Relax in your spectacular whirlpool with the French doors open to your private enclosed garden! It's as though you were taking a whirlpool outside. The king size bed is shown to the right.
The Rossetti suite is one of our two pet-friendly ground-floor units in our new carriage house, Griffin Cottage. Enjoy your whirlpool, fireplace and butler's station complete with coffee/tea maker, refrigerator, and convection/microwave oven. There is a 42" plasma HDTV and DVD player. To the right is your shower with multiple body jets and a steam bath, and a king size bed.
The enclosed back garden in the Rossetti suite provides the ideal location for breakfast, delivered to your door each morning, and allows your pets to freely move between the garden and the suite.
The William Morris is room is one of two pet-friendly ground-floor units in the carriage house. Your French doors open onto your enclosed, private back garden. To the left is your 5 x 7 ft shower with multiple body jets, a rain head shower and steam bath.
Enjoy the fireplace in the William Morris room or swivel the leather chairs to watch TV on your 30" LCD HDTV and DVD player. Your butler's station has a refrigerator, convection/microwave oven, coffe/tea maker, and dishes and glassware.
The king bed in the William Morris room provides a great night's rest. And the TV extends so you can watch TV in bed, if you wish.
Your private, enclosed garden is perfect for enjoying your breakfast, delivered to your door each morning. It also is perfect for your pets!
The Fitzgerald has been completely renovated with king bed, two-person airbath tub, walk-in shower, fiber optic lighting in floor and ceiling. The bedroom has a 47" HDTV, DVD Player, fireplace, personal refrigerator and Air Conditioning.
The Fitzgerald bathroom has a two person air bath tub filling from the ceiling, four Kohler rain-head showers with fiber optic lighting in the ceiling and floor. It has had 60,000 "repins" on Pinterest!
The Edith Wharton room is 15 x 15 ft. It has a king size bed, club chair and side chair, gas fireplace, air conditioning, and desk.
The Edith Wharton room has a 32 inch LCD HDTV with a DVD Player, a personal refrigerator in the closet, and a jacuzzi-style whirlpool with a shower above.
The O.Henry is a comfortable 15 x 15 ft corner room. It has a king size bed, fireplace, 32" HDTV, DVD Player, air conditioning, desk and personal refrigerator.
The O. Henry room has a 32" inch HDTV and DVD player and two comfortable club chairs.

Intimate and Romantic - The 1900 Inn on Montford invites you to be our guest and discover bed and breakfast comfort and hospitality with a warmth and graciousness that is reminiscent of Biltmore's Gilded Age. The Inn has been lovingly and thoughtfully restored to create the inviting ambience of past splendor and elegance. The residence was designed in 1900 by Richard Sharp Smith, Supervising Architect for Biltmore House. Today it is an elegant AAA Four Diamond Bed and Breakfast furnished with English and American antiques dating from 1670 to 1910. All of our exquisite rooms have private ensuite baths, king size beds, and fireplaces. All bathrooms have showers. Four bathrooms have whirlpool baths and one a clawfoot tub. Griffin Cottage, our new carriage house has three deluxe accommodations: the William Morris room and the Rossetti suite on the ground floor and the 1300 sq ft Cloisters as the entire second floor. Tumbled marble is used throughout for the floors and shower walls. All have separate showers with steam baths and two person whirlpools. The living room in the Cloisters features hand-carved paneling. All of Griffin Cottage is "children and pet friendly" with enclosed back gardens and "doggy trundle beds" in the ground floor rooms. All rooms have wired and wireless high speed Internet access.

The owner Lynn was wonderful, very personable! We enjoyed chatting with her, (Ron was not there when we were there). The house is beautifully decorated, the two breakfasts we had were scrumptous and our room, the Fitzgerald Room, was large but comfy w/remote fireplace and a large flat screen TV, and with an awesome bathroom! Yes the bathroom, all granite and mosaic tiles, floor lights that even twinkle, the ceiling shower was amazing. We did not use the spa tub, but it looked inviting. You usually do not find a bathroom quite like this especially in a 112 yr old bed and breakfast. If in Asheville ever again, we definately will stay at the 1900 Inn at Montford again!!!

You will love this inn. We chose one of the detached rooms with a delightful private garden. Sumptuous breakfasts were delivered each morning with a smile. The room had a top-notch coffee maker, refrigerator, awesome steam shower, spa tub, heated floor, leather rockers facing an easy to operate fireplace, large screen TV with a DVD player (all concealed in an armoire--so you can use it or ignore it), comfortable bed, lovely sheets, and all the amenities that let you know the owners take comfort seriously. A social hour at 6:00 each evening allows you to meet other guests over a glass of wine if you are back from the art galleries, the Biltmore, or the hiking trails. Excellent local musicians play and entertain during the social hour on Saturday. The inn is within close walking distance of one of the top five restaurants in Asheville (Nine Mile). The owners, Lynn and Ron, are delightful and quite helpful in planning a great Asheville experience. We came back renewed. As I said, you will love this inn. While the garden rooms are certainly pet friendly, the rooms and garden areas are exquisite, immaculate, and show no signs of previous pet tenants, so don't hesitate to book one even if you are leaving the pets at home with a sitter (as we did.)

We just spent an amazing weekend at the Inns beautiful mountain retreat. Upon our arrival we were impressed with the grandeur and decor of the Inn itself. After visiting with the warm and welcoming owners we then followed Ron to their cabin in the woods, which was a mere 15 minute drive away. I fell in love at first sight! It was a quaint cabin overlooking a creek, settled right into the forrest. Once inside we were awed by the beauty and the rustic furnishings. I was as excited as a child with a new puppy! Everywhere I turned I was squealing with delight! We spent endless hours in the PRIVATE hot tub and took full advantage of the furnished kitchen. Lyn has gone to great lenghts reviewing local eateries. Her reviews had us truly entertained! We read them all, and they were plentiful! It was wonderful KNOWING we would have a great dining experience, as this was our first trip to Asheville. No where else have we received such sought after advice! My only regret is being unable to join the owners for their social hour, we were still pruny from the hot tub! The location could not be more convenient. With the feel of being completely secluded, you are but a short drive (6 minutes) to dining and shopping and only a little further to downtown Weaverville with all of it's charm. I can not wait to visit again!

Where can you go for an unsurpassed B&B experience including inspired conversation with the architect who consults with the owners? It's exciting to be part of relaxed talk centering around restaurants, architecture, history and the ambiance of Asheville. This happens every late afternoon as the B&B house guests return from their fun-filled, busy days in the area. Guests from around the country (and beyond!) gather to share stories of what they've done that day along with plans for the next. The architect drops in occasionally to talk about his ideas for the house (although we don't know what the owners can improve upon, it's already perfect!) The rooms are so well-appointed and comfortable that you'll want to stay at least 2 or 3 nights. Breakfasts are gourmet and served in the beautiful large dining room, full of period furniture. There are many adjectives to describe bed and breakfast experiences. This one tops them all.

My husband and I just got back from a weekend getaway. We have stayed at serveral B&B's in Asheville over the past few years and really loved this one! The location was great, about a 15 minute walk to downtown. The rooms were lovely and the breakfasts were the best! The inn was built in 1900 and has lots of character! I would stay here again!

We just left the charming 1900 Inn on Montford after a lovely stay with delightful innkeepers. Our room, the Fitzgerald, has recently been redone and was very attractive and comfortable, with quite the stylish bathroom. Our breakfasts were delicious, the amenities (with drinks and snacks always available) were top notch -- but I think we appreciated the caring, knowledgeable and entertaining innkeepers the most. We will definitely be back.

If you find a lower price for the same room on the same dates at the same B&B, and contact us within 24 hour of making your booking, we will refund the difference in price to you. This guarantee does not apply to bookings made over holidays and/or for special events. All requests are subject to verification by BedandBreakfast.com. BedandBreafkast.com will not accept screenshots or other purported evidence of a lower price that cannot be independently confirmed by BedandBreakfast.com personnel. Nor will BedandBreakfast.com verify any requests that it believes, in its sole discretion, is the result of a printing or other error or is made fraudulently or in bad faith.
