About

Step back in time to an age of quiet elegance. Enjoy a stroll along the river, shop or dine at one of our fine establishments. Return to our restored 300 year old lovely inn, and enjoy 10' ceilings, original white cedar plank floors (complete with creaks), and original blue marble fireplaces. Walk in the foot steps of many American legends: Benjamin Franklin, Ulyssess S. Grant, James Fenimore Cooper, and Captain James Lawrence to name a few. Learn about Elias Boudinot, J. Howard Pugh, and the Underground Railroad. View Burlington Island. Settled in 1626 by the Walloons it is the site of the first recorded European settlement in New Jersey. Walk the streets of this wonderful, charming historic town, and return to the Inn for an evening of comfort and relaxation.

A Great Find!

5 on November 04, 2014

This bed and breakfast was a great find and will be staying there again. It was clean and very comfortable. The shower was INCREDIBLE. It was a first night away from the kids in a long time. Never made breakfast, but smelled delicious.

Innkeeper Response
You kept your promise and wrote us a wonderful review...thanks so very much ..and we understand your missing breakfast, hard to get up when the kids aren't around. HIGS, Murray, Gene and Harold the Dog

A Burlington gem close to Philadelphia

4.6 on October 31, 2014

We were unable to get a B&B room in Philly due to a convention occurring at the same time we wanted to travel there, so we found the Lily Inn, which was about 20min from Philly. What we found in Burlington was a gem with two superb owners. The Lily Inn is in an historic building that is more than 300 years old - although it has been upgraded to modern standards, it maintains its colonial charm and original features. We would definitely stay at the Lily Inn again!!

Innkeeper Response

A Hidden Treasure

4.8 on September 24, 2014

My wife and I spent an evening at the Lily for our anniversary. We were very pleased with the accommodations and could only find very small blemishes in the physical structure. What made the experience unique are the owners -- Murray and Gene. They are full of personality, warmth and charm. The breakfast was delicious -- french toast should not be missed and the breakfast bread (pumpkin I think) was moist and tasty. We will come back and use the location as a place to stay while visiting Philly.

Innkeeper Response

The proprietors of The Lily Inn have made their historic property a truly wonderful haven of calm and welcome. The rooms are beautifully furnished, with great care and attention to the details of guests' comfort and ease. The innkeepers are knowledgeable about the history of the inn, the town, and the area. And the breakfast is wonderful - choose the French toast.

Innkeeper Response
