  • Inn Details

Sunny sitting porches, in-room wood-burning fireplaces, antique furnishings, a grand piano and a brick fireplace, combined with our full, scrumptious warm breakfast and friendly staff... Together, they set the mood for a romantic and relaxing Island holiday at The Old Turner Inn on Catalina Island, see our site. Located in the heart of Avalon, just one short block from the beach and Green Pleasure Pier, the Inn was originally built in 1927, completely renovated in 1987, and recently updated with new carpets, tiled entry, linens and more; offering fresh new surroundings with old fashioned charm and hospitality. This immaculately kept Cape Cod structure reveals a balance of comfort and elegance to its guests. The combination of contemporary flair and sophistication with traditional English and American antiques results in a perfect harmony that creates a cozy environment. The gallery quality artwork of Catalina scenes throughout the Inn, and the collection of historic family photos from the early days on Catalina, add interest and significance to your stay on the Island. The Inn has five elegantly decorated guest rooms with delicate blends of subtle colors, classic antiques, wicker, lace and rich fabrics; all lending a feel of romance to each room. All five rooms have private tiled baths, and four have wood-burning fireplaces. The Old Turner Inn combines special times with special people. Whether your visit is for a special occasion or just a weekend of relaxation, our courteous and professional Innkeeper and staff will take care of your every need. No trip to Santa Catalina Island would be complete without a stay at The Old Turner Inn.

I chose this place randomly and luck fell my way. It was in the heart of the city, easy walking distance to all of avalon. The room was awesome and was cleaned beyond my need everyday. kathleen spoiled me even though I asked her not to. She looked after me in finding the right trips at the right times and made sure I was fed before I journeyed. The other guests and the hospitality of the staff made my visit feel as though I were at my second home.Thank you kathleen and that great husband of yours for making this wyoming boy comfortable so far from home. p.s. I still owe you some pictures. K.C.

After living in SoCal for nearly seven years my wife and I decided to visit Avalon, CA on Catalina Island. We chose the Old Turner Inn; and to our surprise we discovered the Inn was charming romantically. The room was quaint; and the bed was very comfortable. The Innkeeper was pleasant, attentive; and the breakfasts prepared by her were exceptional. We will most certainly stay there again on our next visit. We strongly recommend the Old Turner Inn for your stay on Catalina Island.

Charming and pleasant. Spacious considering the size of most of the properties we saw. Conveniently located near the harbor but not in the hub of things which guarantees you get a good night sleep. Within walking distance of most all of Avalon. Inn keepers were wonderful and friendly. We meet some nice guests, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The owners even stopped by for visit (they have been on the island since 1912!). Breakfast consisted of fruit, granola, egg dish, and each day a different type of breakfast bread and beverage.
