Our warm and welcoming country home is nestled on a New England hillside, amidst woods, meadows and gardens. Only six miles from Hanover and Dartmouth College, two miles from the Connecticut River public docks and 10 miles from the Dartmouth Skiway, it offers many cultural and recreational opportunities, or can just be a place to relax and unwind.

Our family of four adults (plus a baby) recently stayed a week at 231 Dogford, and we couldn't have been more pleased. This was the most pleasant B&B experience we have ever had, by far. The hosts, Karen and Murray Washburn, were gracious, friendly, helpful, and accommodating without being at all intrusive on our privacy. The house and grounds are most attractive, and the owners share their game rooms, porches, patio, and other areas very generously. Breakfasts are fabulous, with an excellent variety of beautifully prepared and delicious offerings. The setting is completely private and about a 10-minute drive from Hanover. The only (minor) negatives are that TV viewing is limited to NBC and PBS, and cell phone service can be erratic at times. The wi-fi works well, though. All in all, highly recommended for a relaxing family stay!

Directions from I-89 North/Lebanon;EXIT 18 Take a RT off the ramp onto Rte 120 (towards Hanover). Drive ~1.0 mile. Take a RT at the stoplight before the big hill onto Etna Rd. Drive ~2.2 miles (Etna Rd turns into Great Hollow Rd). Take a RT onto Hanover Center Rd. Drive ~1.8 miles through Etna Village (post office, general store, library, church). Turn LT onto Dogford Rd. Drive ~2.3 miles. Driveway is on the right. Because our driveway is a long uphill country lane, we request that, in winter weather, you phone us for escort up the drive.
