We spent a relaxing summer weekend with Christina and Alecia in the White Mountains. They were excellent hostesses with thorough knowledge of the area including the restaurants, which ones needed reservations, which ones took credit cards, which ones were cash only, etc. Also, they were terrific tour guides. We booked the least expensive room available which has the bathroom outside the room which we were a little bit hesitant to do as we had never done this before, but we didn't mind it at all! The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was terrific, we slept like rocks. We were able to peek into two of the other larger rooms before we left, and they were lovely as well, so next visit we may upgrade to something else, but we wouldn't hesitate to take this room again either. It was also nice to have the option of both the ceiling fan and the air conditioning should we have needed it, but the ceiling fan was sufficient, and we had a nice time sitting on the porch as this particular room has a balcony overlooking the pool area. Our only regret was that we weren't able to arrive in time to eat dinner Friday night and attend the live concert at the Colonial Theater which is located right across the street from the bed and breakfast, from the sounds that were coming from it they were having a rocking good time! Maybe on our next visit we will be able to skip work and make it a three day weekend. Good times!

My husband and I stayed one night in the Water Lily Room at the Gables. We appreciated how beautiful the house was and how clean the room and bathroom was. If you are looking for a place to stay where you're not bothered much by the innkeeper, this is the place. We did not have much interaction except for letting us into the house and at breakfast, and we were a little put off when the innkeeper was relieved we eat eggs since we noted we were vegetarian. The room's AC helped keep it decently comfortable, but the second floor was very warm, which was uncomfortable for a summer day.The breakfast was enjoyable, but nothing outstanding. Although there is a pool, it was very unclear to us if we could use it and was never mentioned when we were let into the home. In fact, hardly anything was shared with us except that breakfast was at 9:00. Breakfast was the only time we really had any conversation with the innkeepers, and it wasn't until the end of breakfast that they opened up.

We were pleasantly surprised to find this gem in the White Mountains with an in-ground heated pool. The water temperature was a comfortable 86 degrees and we spent an enjoyable afternoon lounging in the summer sun. We know the season is short up here to enjoy the pool, but it is open from Memorial Day till after Labor Day as Christina and Alecia have solar panels and a solar blanket keeping this delightful resource warm. The bed and breakfast itself was superb as well, with terrific hospitality and a hearty country breakfast. You can't beat the location for walking to the Village restaurants!

We stayed at the Gables for a quiet, romantic weekend away from home and were pleasantly surprised by all that Christina and Alecia had to offer. From the moment we arrived they were knowledgeable about the area and helped us to make plans for dinner both nights. Breakfast was a pleasant surprise as we had a different choice each morning which was delicious and nice as my husband and I have differing tastes in breakfast foods. We can't wait to come back when it is a little warmer outside and take advantage of the lovely heated pool. The room was very comfortable and we can't say enough about this truly great find in the White Mountains.
