Pohutukawa Beach B&B and Cottage are situated on a 14 ha organic Angus-cattle farm close to Whakatane, Bay of Plenty, in an idyllic location overlooking the Pacific Ocean. There are outstanding sea views from Coromandel peninsula to East Cape and to many of the nearby islands. Glance up from the breakfast table and see White Island, New Zealand's most active volcano 50 km offshore. Sometimes dolphins and even whales pass by. Our farm between Tauaranga and Whakatane is the perfect accommodation place to relax and unwind either in the garden, at the swimming-pool, or walk just 100 meters down to the sea to enjoy a stroll along an isolated New Zealand beach. We encourage visitors to stay several days at the Bed & Breakfast or the Cottage as there is so much to see and do in the Bay of Plenty and the Whakatane area! There are many nearby attractions to visit and Prinz Tours Ltd, our family-owned travel company, is able to organise almost anything for you.

Pohutukawa Beach B&B is operated by Dr. Jörg Prinz. In 1989, Jörg and his family moved to New Zealand from Germany and settled on the shores of the Bay of Plenty. Jörg has been working as a medical doctor at Whakatane Hospital for a few years until he decided to have a major change. Jörg's sons, Johannes and Lennart, are now grown up and live their own life. Jörg also runs his own tour company - Prinz Tours, offering day trips for groups around the Bay of Plenty.

Deposit Amount Required: The balance of all monies due, including any surcharges must be paid to PTL no later than 30 days prior to departure. In the case of non-payment of the balance by the due date, PTL will treat the booking as cancelled unless the client communicates to the contrary.

Cancellations: If it becomes necessary to cancel your holiday, you must notify PTL immediately in writing. Cancellation will take effect upon receipt by PTL of your written notice. An inital deposit of 10% of the total with your booking is not refundable.

Our 14 ha lifestyle block with B&B accommodation and the self contained cottage (holiday house) is situated directly on the 'Pacific Coast Highway' (State Highway 2) at Pikowai, 8km west of Matata. We are 66km east of Tauranga, 34km east of Te Puke, 34km west of Whakatane and 55km north-east of Rotorua. It is a short drive to very good restaurants in Whakatane. Boat trips to White Island start from there, too. The airport for helicopter flights to White Island is even closer.
