The former wife of a French diplomat, Poupard- Walbridge has brought the house back to its original splendour. She has layered the main salons, and the guestrooms and suites with objets-d’art, exquisite bibelots, masses of decorative mirrors and outstanding international art collected during embassy postings in South America. The high-ceilinged suites are particularly sumptuous affairs featuring big beds piled with pillows, bolsters and cushions, looming armoires and exotic antique furniture.

Cancellations: Because of our intimate size, cancellations affect us significantly. Consequently we adhere to a strict cancellation policy. Once booked and confirmed by us, minimum charge 15% If we receive notification of cancellation not less than 30 days prior to your date of arrival, we will withhold 25% of the room cost. 15 days: 50% and 7 days or no-show: 100%. We will make every effort to re-book and if successful, we will refund your payment. We will retain the credit card commission. Our flexibility on cancellations is to allow for extenuating circumstances, which will be dealt with reasonably on a case by case basis. If there is a cancellation, please contact us as soon as possible so that we may have the opportunity of assisting you minimise any charges.

Cotter House is located at 4 St Vincent Avenue in Remuera, a 10-min drive from the city and just 3 minutes from the Southern Motorway. Auckland Airport can be reached within 20 minutes. Considered the most exclusive location in Auckland, other stylish suburbs like Newmarket and Parnell are a couple kilometres away. Driving directions: From the Southern Motorway N or S: Take the Greenlane off-ramp, turn right towards Remuera and continue into Greenlane East Road. Take the 2nd turn left into St. Vincent Avenue. Please note that this road takes a sharp right turn. Continue driving to the top. Cotter House is situated next to the library, the last driveway on the right.
