5 out of 5What a serene and beautiful place to visit!
February 03, 2010
The Woodstock Country Inn is a warm and welcoming home, where my boyfriend and I stayed while we visited Woodstock for Levon Helm's "Midnight Ramble." The bed and breakfast was easy to find; located on a sizable piece of property that felt very private. Our room was clean and inviting, with a beautiful mountain view. Carol, the innkeeper, is a charming woman who spent time talking with us about the history of Woodstock, and the colorful characters the town has entertained. She was very knowledgable about the area and graciously addressed all our questions over a delicious breakfast. We hope to visit again soon!
5 out of 5Wonderful stay at true country inn
January 31, 2010
The Woodstock Country Inn is a terrific place to spend a few relaxing days. The Inn is private, simple and very comfortable, with attractive but understated rooms and a blazing fire in a cozy living room setting. The breakfast was delicious. And the owner, Carol, is a wonderful local who brings the flavor of Woodstock and its rich history into her very own place. I highly recommend it as a terrific getaway...and one you will want to return to over and over! We came up for Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble and the charm of Woodstock but I would come here happily just to spend a relaxing weekend.
5 out of 5The best in Woodstock!
January 14, 2010
My husband and I found Carol and the Inn after staying in many places in the area. My daughter rides and the horseshow in Saugerties (HITS) is about 15 minutes away. The Inn has become our home away from home, thanks to Carol's wonderful hospitality and delicious breakfasts! The rooms are spotless and comfortable, our favorite is upstairs on the left, but we have stayed in all four and they are all lovely, each with something special to recommend it. We have stayed with my daughter and her riding friends, my husband and I have come for weekends, and it is always perfection. There is nothing like sitting by the fire in the living room on a cold snowy day and the view is truly spectacular. There is nothing in the area that compares and we have stayed in three other B&B's and the scary Friar Tuck Hotel (our first year at HITS). We just love coming here and most highly recommend it for romantic getaways or touring the town of Woodstock. Be sure to ask Carol for her favorite restaurants and places to see, she is a wealth of knowledge of the area. Can't wait to go back!
5 out of 5A Real Treasure

I'd argue that it's the scrumptious blueberry pancakes; my wife would say that she loves lying in the hammock under the calm Catskills sky. For both reasons, and others, we return year after year to the Woodstock Country Inn. It's nestled between a couple of mountains, just off of a winding road and a quick five-minute drive from the center of Woodstock, New York. The Inn is cradled by grassy fields and rolling hills. Being there is being unaware there is an outside world. The meticulously cleaned and heated pool is a crystal clear sky blue. Carol, the innkeeper, goes out of her way to cater to your breakfast requests: homemade blueberry muffins, fresh bread, scrambled eggs, banana or blueberry pancakes, writing this is making me quite hungry! You can eat alone or share breakfast and meet other guests. The friendly and casual atmosphere has always made us feel right at home. There are very few places that compare to the Woodstock Country Inn and I pray this public review does not change that.

James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) wrote in our guest book that he had "the best sleep ever" in this room. Of course, he did not try any of our other rooms, as he probably would have said the same because our beds are THE most comfortable. Queen bed, private deck, tv/vcr, wi-fi. High-quality linens and bedding, of course.

4.8 out of 5Truly Wonderful Experience
March 29, 2008
The setting itself is wonderful, situated off a quiet country road, overlooking mountains and open meadows, yet with very close proximity to “ infamous” Woodstock, NY. The room - incredibly private - almost as though we were there by ourselves. The innkeeper, Carol, is very knowledgeable of the area and, quite willing to share with the inquisitive guest. The very substantial, made-to-order breakfast was actually more than we expected. Recommended to me by a worldly traveling friend and I would definitely recommend it to my friends.
4.8 out of 5Peace and Tranquility
March 26, 2008
My husband and I needed a break from our stressed out New York City lives, and the Woodstock Country Inn was the exact slice of heavenly peace and quiet that we had been seeking. As soon as we pulled into the long driveway and were surrounded by the tall trees and pretty mountain views, we knew we had chosen the right place. The b&b is on a beautiful piece of property with a great view of the mountains. The vibe is almost more alpine than Catskills, with all of the pine trees around, although maybe that's because we were there in March. In any event, we were finally able to unwind and breathe again after spending a night in this tranquil house. The town of Woodstock is very cute with lots of cozy shops and galleries. Upon Carol's recommendation (proprietor of the Inn), we went to the Bear Cafe for dinner and had a lovely time. The food and ambiance was great and exactly what we had been looking for (without even knowing it). Carol, who owns and runs this b&b, is a kind and lively woman who will make you feel comfortable and at ease right away. We were delighted as she regaled us with stories about all the fascinating people who have stayed at her inn over the years! Before we left and went back home to the city, on Carol's recommendation we took a walk from the inn down to the gorgeous Cooper's Lake (a short walk down the road). I definitely recommend this activity! In short, we relaxed, had a great time, and got in the fresh country air we so desperately needed. Thank you, Carol!

March 17, 2008
Three grazing deers, ears perched- eyes black and bright, walked across the lawn as we pulled up to the Inn's driveway. As if to "welcome" us, these serene creatures are of the many other natural animals we saw in our weekend stay. A decadent White Room holds true to its name, with everything- including it's Television, is white. Heavenly was the first word uttered as we entered that room. With matching white robes, my boyfriend and I sat on the second floor porch, looking into one of the most breathtaking views of the Hudson Valley. Woodstock Inn was an amazing adventure and a well treasured town hidden between the mighty mountains of upstate New York. We arrived without any expectations and left with fresh air filled lungs and a smile that stretched from ear to ear.
