A long driveway off a peaceful country road leads you to the grace and serene quiet of this beautifully restored artist's home. Surrounded by rolling meadows, mountain views and wooded acres. Ideally located less than a mile to internationally famous Bear Cafe and tranquil Cooper lake. Swimming, hiking, cross country trails, abundant adirondack chairs and hammocks and quality country comfort. Furnished with country antiques, the 4 uniquely beautiful rooms offer cable TV, mountain views, a/c, the highest quality beds and linens, and your own private porch or deck. Free wi-fi. Certified organic full breakfast served. Recommended by The New York Times, Fodor's, Weekends Away, The New York Times Weekends, and the Hudson Valley Explorer's Guide.
Similar to an attached cabin, this room offers absolute quiet and privacy with private entrance. (We once had a drummer practice in this room, and no one in the inn could hear him!) Queen bed, cathedral ceilings, private porch, and private sun room with day bed (suitable for sleeping) and kitchenette area. TV/DVD, WiFi. High-quality linens and bedding. $35 for additional guest.
James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano) wrote in our guest book that he had "the best sleep ever" in this room. Of course, he did not try any of our other rooms, as he probably would have said the same because our beds are THE most comfortable. Queen bed, private deck, tv/vcr, wi-fi. High-quality linens and bedding, of course.
Windows on three sides, large porch with glorious views, king bed, tv, a/c. The room is all white with a feeling of absolute serenity.
Like being in the clouds, this room has great views, a private deck, queen bed, and a large bath with a deep soaking tub. A private deck with great views. TV, Wi-fi, high-quality linens and bedding, of course.

On arrival we lucked out and were able to stay in a large loft style room with its own patio and an adjacent cozy reading area with a great view of the mountains. Given the beautiful landscape and lovely setting the innkeeper knew what she was up to when she opened this place. It hit the mark of rustic luxury and made us regretful of only having planned a two night stay. Nice restaurant (Bear Cafe) is just down the road as is the lake.

What a wonderful winter getaway! I was looking for a quiet and relaxing trip out of the city and this place was just as I hoped with its authentic country style and tasteful, warm accommodations. I stayed in the White Room, which was cozy at night and lovely in the morning. The surrounding country setting is stunning (great place for photography, walking/running) and as a city girl it made me appreciate the winter in way I hadn’t in a long time - peaceful and invigorating. Would love to go back and experience the other 3 seasons!

The Woodstock Country Inn is a warm and welcoming home, where my boyfriend and I stayed while we visited Woodstock for Levon Helm's "Midnight Ramble." The bed and breakfast was easy to find; located on a sizable piece of property that felt very private. Our room was clean and inviting, with a beautiful mountain view. Carol, the innkeeper, is a charming woman who spent time talking with us about the history of Woodstock, and the colorful characters the town has entertained. She was very knowledgable about the area and graciously addressed all our questions over a delicious breakfast. We hope to visit again soon!

The Woodstock Country Inn is a terrific place to spend a few relaxing days. The Inn is private, simple and very comfortable, with attractive but understated rooms and a blazing fire in a cozy living room setting. The breakfast was delicious. And the owner, Carol, is a wonderful local who brings the flavor of Woodstock and its rich history into her very own place. I highly recommend it as a terrific getaway...and one you will want to return to over and over! We came up for Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble and the charm of Woodstock but I would come here happily just to spend a relaxing weekend.

My husband and I found Carol and the Inn after staying in many places in the area. My daughter rides and the horseshow in Saugerties (HITS) is about 15 minutes away. The Inn has become our home away from home, thanks to Carol's wonderful hospitality and delicious breakfasts! The rooms are spotless and comfortable, our favorite is upstairs on the left, but we have stayed in all four and they are all lovely, each with something special to recommend it. We have stayed with my daughter and her riding friends, my husband and I have come for weekends, and it is always perfection. There is nothing like sitting by the fire in the living room on a cold snowy day and the view is truly spectacular. There is nothing in the area that compares and we have stayed in three other B&B's and the scary Friar Tuck Hotel (our first year at HITS). We just love coming here and most highly recommend it for romantic getaways or touring the town of Woodstock. Be sure to ask Carol for her favorite restaurants and places to see, she is a wealth of knowledge of the area. Can't wait to go back!
