Beaver Dam Creek House

We had the pleasure of finding Beaver Dam Creek House by accident and were thrilled with our short stay there recently. We had only one night to spend and a full day of touring that part of the Eastern Long Island. We are both from NY and had married out there 34 years ago and wanted to visit our venue: (The Gorgeous Atlantic Ocean right on Dune Road). It was a sentimental trip and what made it even better was our hosts attachment to the community. Our hostess Joan is a staple of the area and knew so many of the people we came into contact with so many years ago. That was a bonus on top of the absolutely charming accommodations. We had the large room with patio deck, view of the gorgeous yard and pool. We had a fantastic lunch recommended by Joan and her daughter Jeannie at Rumba on the docks and it was just delicious. So good in fact, that we made it our main meal for the day. Fortunately for us our other host Bill had just made his blueberry muffin tops that evening when we got a little hungry and we just couldn't resist. Perfect day in beautiful Westhampton Beach. This is the first and last place to look for an outstanding B&B. The husband and wife and daughter running the house are just like family and go out of their way to help guests. There is a bay within 3 minutes walking distance to try your luck at fishing. It is easily within 5 minutes or less to get into the town of Westhampton with its wonderful shops. If you cant find it there the city of Riverhead is just 8 miles away with all the stores you are used to. The landscaping is wonderful with a pool and hot tub to just sit around and relax or use. Breakfast is what you want and you don't go away hungry. Rooms are clean and bathrooms exceptional. You are always welcome into the main house to chat or have a cup of coffee. Lots of small towns close by to check out the novel stores. Can't say enough about the hospitality. Definately a must stay! Jim and Gigi Rice, Jacksonville, Fl.

We had a great time at Beaver Dam, enjoying the hospitality and concern for our comfort. When I spilled red wine on their rug, which had just been cleaned, they made me feel positive again very quickly. And the breakfast is super, whatever you want, they make it. Thanks to all of you!

My daughter treated me for my birthday with a stay at the BeaverDamHouse Creek Bed & Breakfast. It proved to be a hidden ewel. Wow! The friendliness of the host Mr & Mrs Sawyer, the beautiful scenery from all angles of the house, the cleanliness, the atmosphere, the other guest and the treasured peace was great. Each room was presented in a stylish personality of its own. Joan and Bill your continued hard work was visible as soon as we entered the home. It was a 3 hour drive from Philadelphia. Was the crazy New York traffic worth it? Yes! When you can get a grown daughter and an 8 year old granddaughter to enjoy themselves, you are really doing something. Joan and Bill (the owners) are great people. The atmosphere there was wonderful and I was able to relax and enjoy the Hamptons. Breakfast was delicious (I thoroughly enjoyed Bill's blueberry muffins). As the CEO of The Candlegate Group, the world's premier lifestyle provider, I highly recommend the Beaver Dam Creek House.

For Christmas, my husband gave me the gift of a night in this bed and breakfast. Children are welcome and it was a pleasure to get to bring our almost four year old daughter with us! The home is beautiful and wonderfully decorated with so many nice little touches. Jeanne is a lovely person - easy to talk with and made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. She was extremely knowledgeable of the area and had many wonderful ideas of things to do and places to see for our stay. With only a one night stay we had to be selective! My husband and I stayed at Beaver Dam Creek House for one night this October for a wedding. We were so pleasently surprised as it was our first time at a B&B. Joane our host was just lovely. Her home was very charming, warm, clean and so realxing. The garden was lovely, our room (we stayed in the suite) was so bright and just a beautiful experience. We loved breakfast too!!! We definately plan to visit again.

We spent one night at the Beaver Dam Creek House as we were attending a wedding in Sag Harbor. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at this beautiful, quaint house. We were greeted by Joan who graciously showed us through the house, pointing out all the ammenities and then to our rooms. We were thrilled to find meticulously clean rooms and after our long drive, decided to take a nap. It was pure heaven! You awake in the morning to the smell of coffee and blueberry muffins. Our breakfast was delicious -- homemade quiche, bagels, blueberry muffins, cottage cheese, fresh fruit and jams. It was most delicious! Jeanie, Joan's daughter was very helpful, pointing out all the events that were to take place on the weekend. We will definitely highly recommend this bed and breakfast to all our friends and we plan to visit there again next Summer. Speaking of summer, their dog Summer is adorable. Our family unexpectedly ended up in Westhampton for a family members funeral. Although this was a sad time for us all, Joan and Bill went out their way to make a difficult time into a little family reunion for us. The rooms were very comfortable and clean and the breakfast was great. We had some down time between wakes, and felt very comfortable being at the house for snacks in the afternoon. Everything was taken care of including an emergency dry cleaning run. When we have more time we will definately be making this inn one of our vacation spots.

I spent a weekend at the Beaver Dam Creek House with my family and some of our close friends. I traveled from Florida for my brother’s wedding. After the long trip from Florida, via Baltimore, I was absolutely delighted to end up in this wonderful inn. Bill, Joanie and Jeanie did everything they could to make us feel at home. The house itself is an amazing showpiece and meticulously attended. The grounds, pool and deck area are equally as impressive. I am a former chef, trained at the Culinary Institute of America, so I feel I can speak with some authority when I say that food was fresh, presented with attention to detail, plentiful and absolutely delicious. We left there with wonderful memories of a weekend we will cherish in our memories for years to come. (Many thanks to all!)

We booked all 5 rooms for our family and friends who came from MA to attend our son's wedding in West Hampton. Everyone agreed that the BDC House was a perfect place to relax and socialize. The inkeepers, Bill, wife Joanie and daughter Jeannie are pefect hosts. Friendly,warm and helpful but not obtrusive. Jeannie really helped us with the plans, suggesting that we have a cookout by the pool on Saturday rather than trying to find a place for all 10 of us to lunch. They provided a beautiful grill with a cooler and all the accessories and we entertained 14 guests by the pool. The property is lovely,well kept and spotlessly clean. The master suite is particularly airy and spacious with a luxurious bath and large closet/dressing room. We awoke to the aroma of Bill's "muffin tops" baking. We enjoyed a delicious full breakfast, juice, toast, eggs, bacon-anything we wanted cooked to order and beautifully served. As we were unfamiliar with the area, our hosts were most helpful in giving us the local highlights, recommendations and directions. Our family will always treasure the time we spent at the BDC House. Thanks to Bill, Joanie, Jeannie and their sweet dog Autumn, we were all happy, well fed and totally relaxed for our son's big day. Although my husband has purchased his own "muffin top" pan, we plan to go back again next year for another visit. Thanks folks! Kathleen and Harry

The house is lovely, the room was great, yard was gorgeous, owners friendly, but a few drawbacks. The family shared the premises and this meant we walked in at the end of the evening to find them sprawled out and dozing in the living room. Every morning there were blueberry muffin tops, and although they were tasty, there was no butter, juice, fruit, or any other offerings. They did ask if we wanted Cheerios, but no thanks. Nice as they were, they could have made a better effort in the morning.
