Our newly renovated Observatory Room, with picture postcard view of the Hudson River and Adirondack Mountains beyond. The Hudson River at low water in August. (Tell your friends you walked across the Hudson!) An easy hiking trail follows the river for miles, or rent a canoe or kayak, from nearby Beaver Brook Outfitters, for an easy paddle (and they'll even pick you up and bring you back!)
Fresh snow and our view across the Hudson at Sugarloaf Mountain. You can cross-country ski or snowshoe right at the door. Or just a half-hour drive to Gore Mountain or West Mountain for Alpine skiing. Check out our winter weekend package with all meals included.Frequent guest Elaine Blythe sent us this photo of a Monarch butterfly feeding on our asters. Country Road Lodge offers hospitality to winged creatures and 4-legged animals as well as our own species.
The view from the Observatory Room. The Hudson River provides opportunity for easy canoing and kayaking for fifteen miles. Very little human habitation is visible along this stretch of the River. The track of the Upper Hudson River Railroad follows along the opposite side.Perennial flower beds surround Country Road Lodge and provide flowering from late April through September, complementing the natural flora of our Adirondack paradise.
Sugarloaf Mountain dominates the northern view across the Hudson River from Country Road Lodge. Touches of autumn color dot the foliage during a favorite period of cool nights and comfortable days, ideal for wilderness strolls or serious mountain climbing. Our Bird Room offers the option of two twin beds or one king sized bed. A budget value, this room with a view of field and forest, has air conditioning and a fully private bath located just across the hall.
Your choice of our full country breakfast is served in our "Great Room" between 7:30 and 9:00 AM. Enjoy views in all directions and watch the birds at their own feeders just outside the windows.
