4.6 out of 5Off the beaten path
April 23, 2013
We stayed in the Iris room with our 9 and 10 year old. The innkeeper, Hallie, greeted us with cookies and snacks and gave us a tour of the original house. The king bed was too cozy to get out of in the morning and I even tried the pull-out mattress with a brief nap and that was good too. They are converting a loft into a bar. We had breakfast in a large dining room. Breakfast vegetable quiche, citrus-berry oatmeal. We originally chose this inn because we were coming back from a MTB race at Lippman Park. Lunch was on the patio and included an apple-gorgonzola salad and chicken alfredo pasta. The Iris room was a little chilly but the electric fireplace took care of that as well as the cozy bed. We would have liked a sitting room to relax outside our room. The dining room was quickly transformed for our lunch and would suggest that it could be easily done that way for a sitting room and back too.
4.6 out of 5Perfect place to celebrate the beginning of spring
April 10, 2013
After a long, cold winter we decided to leave the city and head to the country for some grass, trees and beautiful scenery. We love the city but crave some country air when spring finally arrives. We booked a room at the ElmRock and it was perfect. We had the Iris Room--nice size, amazingly comfortable bed, huge bathroom and a lovely outdoor patio where we sat and read and absorbed the so-welcome sunshine. The hosts were great--gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner in nearby New Paltz and served an amazing breakfast of waffles, fruit, bacon, and a fresh fruit smoothie. We will return. And, if you visit, you must take the walk around Lake Minnewaska, about 10 minutes from the Inn. It is spectacular.
4.8 out of 5A wonderful welcoming inn
November 04, 2012
We stayed there for two nights in October. The bed is amazing and the room (and the rest of the inn) is decorated with simplicity and very good taste. Breakfast specially made by Chef Mark was wonderful, rich and tasty. Our room had a private bathroom on the other side of the hall, which was not a problem for us but might be for some. The inn is right on the main road (a country main road that is…not that busy but it's not in a remote location if that's what you're looking for). The location is great for traveling around and Mark was very helpful with suggestions about what to do in the area and how to get there. I highly recommend staying in the Elmrock.
5 out of 5A great Inn & fantastic catering!
July 21, 2012
I made a weekend of a friend's party by staying at Elm Rock, know the owner was also catering my friend's party. The only thing more delicious than the food was my cozy room - the Toile. Loved the inn, the staff, and the breakfast & hope to be back soon!

5 out of 5My Birthday Party
May 26, 2012
May 19, 2012 I had my 60th birthday party at the Inn, 30 of my favorite friends and family were in attendance. The dining area was absolutely beautiful. Appetizers and drinks were on the lovely patio, with spring flowers in bloom. The property was groomed to perfection . The dinner included 3 entrees, and several sides of local foods. It was served table side. Chef Mark's food was cooked to perfection. A sampling of 3 desserts were served and was delicious. I highly recommend this venue, and your out of town guests could stay at the Inn.
4.8 out of 5Great Place to Stay
October 27, 2008
I recently stay at this B&B and thought everything was great. The host were nice and friendly. They recommended a great place to eat. Our room was nice and clean and very comfortable. The inn was nicely decorated. The patio was a great place to drink a glass of wine as the sun went down. I will be back!
