1899 Lady of the Lake

My husband surprised me with a night at the Lady of the Lake. We felt so at home at the Inn, our room was cozy and quiet we were even able to take a long afternoon nap. In the morning we awoke to a great breakfast and some fluffy white snow that made the area even more beautiful.

We found the house to be absolutely beautiful. Our room was wonderful and the proxsity to the town made it a nice walk to all the shops and resturants. We will be back again

We have stayed at the Lady of the Lake Bed and Breakfast two times and both stays were truly outstanding. Sandy and Karen made us feel right at home. Breakfast was delicious, complete with homemade breads and coffeecake. The location is ideal, in walking distance to shopping and dining. Looking forward to our next visit!

Decided to stay here due to its convenience to some business meetings I had. The Sherwood Inn, where a business dinner with alcohol was occurring, was right across the street, so the walkability made this an obvious choice. Turned out to also be a great choice. Sandra was friendly and efficient. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable (I stayed in the Stella). I asked for breakfast at an earlier time than usual, since I had meetings in the morning, and this was done without issue. The breakfast, which was served in the dining room, was delicious. Most importantly, the king size bed was very comfortable with great pillows. I literally have no complaints at all. I will stay here when I am in the area, for business or pleasure.

We were so pleased with our stay - the home was warm and inviting as was the hostess. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Internet service was not great, but that was our only complaint. Wonderful visit and we would return.

This B&B had lovely large rooms, a most comfortable bed and a great breakfast especially for someone with dietary restrictions which were graciously met by the innkeeper

Hello We stayed in a charming house run by nice people warm hospitality we had a lovely room with a pleasant atmosphere and excellent location.

We had a gift card, the way we found this wonderful inn. This is definitely a B&B and area we would love to visit again. We enjoyed a concert in the evening, a delicious breakfast, and a boat ride on Skaneateles Lake.

After finally arriving (Hurricane Irene), we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived late and Sandra, the owner, had made arrangements for us to get into our room without any problems. Sandra also made wonderful area suggestions which we found met every need. Lake Skaneateles is a great get-a-way. We expect to return to the Lady of the Lake soon.

If you are interested in getting in a mimi vacation wit great vale clean friendly and a great place to stay i hope you take it to Lady of the Lakes b&b Sandy and barry was the most friendly kind and up beat people i ever met they were interested in us and help giving feed back and idrections as needed would we go back in a heart beat yes so if u want a super great get away try this place

My wife and I spent 2 nights at the 1899 Lady of the Lake in August for our 22nd wedding anniversary. Sandy greeted us when we arrived and knew our names. She informed us of area restaurants and attractions, and offered to call ahead to 1 restaurant for us and get us on the waiting list for dinner (we decided to eat elsewhere). The home has a beautiful Victorian charm. Our room was more than comfortable; my wife especially liked the over-sized, thick, soft towels. Breakfast both mornings was delicious. Sandy let us know of her comings-and-goings and gave us her cell # for emergencies. When Sandy couldn't be there the 2nd morning, she let us know her house-sitter would be there instead. She, too, was delightful. We really enjoyed staying at the 1899 Lady of the Lake and will stay there again.

My husband and I wanted to visit Skaneateles, which was the only Finger Lake we hadn't visited. I found the Lady of the Lake on line. We didn't know what to expect, so we made it a one night stay. We wish we could have stayed an extra night, but it was booked. The owner was very hospitable and helpful with what we could do when we got there. We hope to visit again in the future!

This B&B is one of the most gracious and welcoming establishments that my wife and I have been fortunate to visit. Located at the edge of the "strip", i.e., the lake and the restaurant/shopping district, our hostess was both gracious and knowledgeable in local gossip. The B&B is a late 19th century house that has been updated to accommodate any reasonable need and is located in relatively quiet area. It is furnished with quasi 19th-century decor and 21st century conveniences. Breakfasts are excellent and the refrigerator is stocked with chilled water and fizzies. It's just what you need after a hard day or night of observing, shopping, and eating with the hoi polloi. Parking is in the back yard, and the front porch provide a welcome respite from the travails of vacation. Our room was cool and furnished with a great bed and bathroom, and the presence of free wi-fi made things just about perfect. Go.

Lady of the Lake is an excellently maintained Victorian mansion with three rooms. We were in the Stella, which had a very comfortable king bed and an excellent en suite bathroom and shower. The house had central air plus a powerful ceiling fan over the bed, which was essential since we were there during a record-setting heat wave. Breakfasts were varied and included a fruit course followed by a main course, such as a quiche or French toast with filling. Sandy is an excellent hostess with a lot of information about the town. Skaneateles has a fine shopping street and several high-end restaurants, always crowded in summer (some don't take reservations for groups less than six or eight). It's an expensive town, but it's pretty and the lakefront park is right across the street from the B&B.

My wife and I are in our early seventies and normally stay in upscale hotels. Since all the noted hotels in the area were booked for our weekend, July 21 - 24, 2011, we were directed to Lady of the Lake. As expected in the bed and breakfast catagory the home is of late Victorian vintage, as were the somewhat impressive but less than pristine furnishings. The pleasantly surprising feature of this B&B however is Sandy, the proprieter. When we arrived she made us feel "at home", with a tour of the facility, which includes unlimited bottled ice water for guests, two well decorated sitting rooms and an impressive dinning room. We were shown a book of menus from all the local restaurants (with commentary). The rooms are centrally air conditioned at a very pleasant 72 degrees, which, with the aid of the remote controlled ceiling fans, easily handled the 92 degree weather of that weekend. The next morning when we came to the dining room for breakfast, which was served at 9:00AM for all the guests of the three bedrooms of this B&B, we discovered that Sandra is a gourmet breakfast cook. The table setting inspired me to photography. Breakfast the first day, which was not buffet style, was served by our capable hostess. It started with melon wedges decorated with berries and kiwi slices and continued with some exotic form of french toast dressed with what seemed like a fresh apple pie filing and confectioner's sugar. The breakfast menu on each of the following days was different but lived up to the same delightful standards. Freshly baked breads and muffins and plenty of hot coffee were also present each day. Throughout our stay Sandy seemed to be around whenever we needed information or advise about local attractions. She knows it all. We very definitely would rcommend Lady of the Lake to all of our friends seeking the best in a Bed and Breakfast vacation.

My wife & I aren't B & B people, so we didn't know what to expect. What we found at the L of the L was sophisticated hospitality, turn of the (last) century charm, a dazzling town with to-die-for views wherever you happened to turn your head, an abundance of great restaurants of every variety, & a rare peacefulness that's an antidote to today's over-caffeinated world. Lest the Lady be thought to be stodgy, there are welcome contemporary amenities like wi-fi & AC that in no way compromise the lovingly achieved ambience of the place. And don't miss the breakfast, which sets a high standard for the rest of the day.

The "1899 Lady of the Lake" is a beautiful house. We stayed in the "Mary", which is a spacious bedroom (with private bathroom) that has a view of Skaneateles lake. The host and hostess were very friendly and welcoming (which you would expect for a B&B!).

Skaneateles is a great little town and Lady of the Lake is a great place to enjoy it. Great hospitality and outstanding breakfast!

We had the chance to discover a wonderful B&B located in front of the beautiful Skaneateles Lake and in the heart of the village. The room that we chose, The DeEtta, was charming, comfortable, quiet. The innkeeper attaches importance to details that make every aspect of the room look special and charming: chocolates, self-serve coffee, comfortable bed, air conditioning, decoration. And what breakfast we had !!! Sandra Rademacher is such a great cook !! Thank you Sandra, we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back to your B&B soon !

This year we stayed at the Lady of the Lake for the 4th of July. It was as usual impecably clean and Sandy was her usual happy and welcoming self. She makes the most incredible breakfasts! Their dog is a sweet girl and comes in and out of the house as she pleases. It's such a relaxing treat to visit the Inn. We hope to visit again this autumn! Many thanks Sandy! Patricia & Michael

We arrived quite late on a Saturday evening and were greeted by a wonderful lady (Karen...who I mistakenly referred to as Carol...don't ask me why and she was gracious and never corrected me) and Otto (her dog). Both could not be more fun and Karen made our very short stay just perfect. We had breakfast on Sunday morning and walked about town for a few hours before departing. Karen saw us off and gave us little goodie bags (yummy) for our journey home which was just the perfect touch. We will absolutely stay there again.

The room was ok, a bit small but ok. The food was fantastic. It would be nice if each room had a reserved table for dinner

We loved this place. Beautiful room in a great old house across road from the crystal clear lake. Within walking distance of everything. Had front row seats on the porch for Memorial Day parade. Breakfast was outstanding and Sandra and (forgot his name) were friendly, knowledgeable, and inviting.

We were in Skaneateles for two nights May '11. We wish we could've stayed longer! Great breakfasts and comfy beds! Wonderful stay! Highly recommend!

From beginning to end, our stay was wonderful. All our needs were anticipated and met to include the comfort of having a friendly dog to pet! Innkeepers adapted to our schedule and were fun and interesting to talk to; genuinely kind people. We've been to B and Bs where it was somewhat uncomfortable to sit in antique furniture in fear that we were going to wrinkle or break something...Lady of the Lake was warm and welcoming. Every detail was considered with guest comfort in mind. Home was beautiful but the people (and the dog, Bailey) made our stay perfect. Thank you.

The house is beautiful, as are the rooms. Thoughtful touches and very clean. Karen at the B&B became an immediate friend, and she cooks a MEAN breakfast. The coffee was very good (and I'm picky about coffee - it must not be weak).Absolutely fantastic. You will enjoy your stay.

The Lady of the Lake B & B is a rare treasure for sure!! My husband & I were looking for a relaxing get away, and The Lady was the perfect place. The service was impeccable, the Inn charming and beautifully decorated, and the entire weekend was filled with genuine hospitality and personalized attention. The Inn-sitter Karen, is someone that made us feel instantly like family. We look forward to returning to the Lady in the future!!

Unfortunately there was a terrible storm the day we arrived. There were 50 mph winds and blinding snow. Despite the fact that the storm had shattered two top floor windows in her own bedroom, and she had a full house, Karen was perfectly calm and made us feel more than welcome. She encouraged us to bring our other out of town friends in to spend time with us inside. Breakfast was excellent, we even bought a cookbook.

What a great place to stay! Karen was SO helpful and a truly great hostess. We were touring Syracuse University and Karen helped with directions, packed us a goodie bag and was just really welcoming. Should Heather get accepted and attend I know where we will be staying during our visits to see her!

We had a lovely stay. Jenny, the Innkeeper, went out of her way to be hospitable and kind; she made suggestions for restaurants, gave directions to places of interest, and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely choose Lady of the Lake door our next weekend escape!

We stayed at the B&B in January and had the place to ourselves. Actually, we pretty much had the whole town to ourselves, which is exactly what we were hoping. We followed all the staff recommendations for dining out and shopping and enjoyed a lovely breakfast. We will be back again this summer for sure, to see what the lake has to offer. Definitely will stay here again. Hopefully Bailey (the friendly black lab) will be there to greet us too.

A wonderful stay at the Lady of the Lakes, it was our third time there, we have now slept in all the rooms and they each have their own charm. The weather even cooperated with a fresh blanket of snow, Breakfast was scumptious. we will go back :)

We stayed 2 nights. The hostess couldn't have been more helpful and cheerful. She seemed to like us a lot, and she brought out the best in all the guests when we were together. My husband and I felt very at home and enjoyed our weekend in Skaneateles. A big plus was the off-street parking in the village, and how easy it was to walk from the house to anywhere we wanted. The house was all decorated for Christmas and was beautiful and put us in the spirit. The antiques and decor everywhere were interesting. Our room was sweet but a bit small, and the claw-foot tub/shower was a little tricky to negotiate. Because we've seen that set-up before with the shower curtain, though, it wasn't too difficult.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Lady of the Lake and in Skaneateles. Karen, the self-described innsitter while Sandra is away, is a charming and fun hostess. We sat in the kitchen and talked with her while she worked on preparations for the next morning's breakfast. We were in the Mary Room. It was chilly in the room to start, but we let Karen know and she was able to adjust the thermostat for us and it was quite comfy for sleeping. It was a little confusing which light was controlled by which switch, but I didn't bother to ask either. We will certainly consider the Lady of the Lake first when we come to Skaneateles again for a weekend.

I arrived at the Lady of the Lake after 7:30pm for the night. I found parking easy as well as directions to my room. The house was clean, comfortable, and charming. I met the inn-keepers who were returning from dinner. They recommended I eat dinner at the Sherwood Inn across the street and I found their recommendation to be a very good one. I was pleased by cable tv and internet access in my room making it easy to enjoy finishing my day's work. In the morning I found the breakfast to be the highlight of my day with fresh fruit, juice, sausage and a wonderful apple crepe creation! I enjoyed the inn-keepers sweet dog and wonderful hospitality.

Skaneateles (pronounced "skinny atlas") is the perfect small town. It's quaint shops and beautiful homes spoon Lake Cayuga on the North tip about 20 minutes from Syracuse. And Lady of the Lake is the perfect place to stay while you explore this area. Our room, like the whole house, was beautifully appointed. The bed was comfortable, the view (partly overlooking a part and the tip of the lake) was lovely, the food was delicious, and our hosts were the perfect balance of attentiveness and breathing room. My only regret was that we didn't stay there the next night, too - it would have been a nice retreat from Syracuse.

Recently my wife and I spent a weekend at the Lady of the Lake - and it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. The location of the house is right next to the town and we were in walking distance of excellent restaurants, shops, and the lake itself. More importantly, Sandra is a tremendous chef who prides herself on a gourmet breakfast. The room was fantastic and the property in general was very well-kept and clean. We will be returning to the Lady of the Lake hopefully very soon.

The lake location of this B&B is excellent for shops, restaurants and lake cruises. The owner is very friendly, makes you feel at home and serves a delicious breakfast.

Our second visit to the Lady. We really enjoyed our visit and thoroughly enjoy Skaneateles and the Finger Lakes region.

My husband and I spent 2 wonderful days at this lovely B&B. We were greeted with open arms and immediately felt comfortable. The delicious breakfasts and tasteful table presentations were truly memorable highlights. Upon leaving we looked at each other & remarked we hoped to return soon.

This was our second visit to this lovely inn.We were again treated with a sincere eagerness to have our stay be terrific. Sandy gave us suggestions for places to see that were awesome and served a truly elegant breakfast for the two mornings we were there. We stayed in the Mary last fall and the Stella this time, both are gorgeous. Most of all, Max, our beloved pooch was welcome, and he had a ball! We could not have enjoyed ourselves more and are planning third time.
