My family of four stayed in the spacious Bear room. The food was delicious. The owners were gracious and made us feel at home. We spent four days at the B&B and enjoyed every minute of it.

We had a wonderful stay at Kiwassa. The setting is serene and relaxing and the owners are helpful and very pleasant. We stayed in the Moose room with excellent views of the lake. The breakfasts were beyond expectations.

We wanted a quiet place to relax and this place was perfect Marjory and her son made us feel welcome. We stayed in the bed and breakfast and enjoyed wonderful breakfast each morning A short drive to towns of Saranac Lake and Lake Placid if you want to shop or find a place for dinner. Sitting by the lake just reading was so peaceful. Many nice hikes close by which we did a couple days Wish we stayed longer. Thank you for the hospitality.

My husband surprised me with a weekend stay at Kiwassa Lake B & B, and we couldn't have had a nicer time. Beautiful location, tranquil, private---the views were gorgeous and the owners were delightful. Low-key and completely relaxing spot. We could've taken advantage of all the activities offered (boating, fishing, flying, etc.), but we were so content with the room and location that we just hung out on the dock and in our room for most of the trip! Highly recommend booking a stay with these lovely folks.

15 minutes from Lake Placid, 2 hours from Burlington, VT, 3 hours from Albany, NY, 6 hours from New York City, Saranac Lake, Lakeside, Mountains, Small town
Albany, NY (ALB-Albany County) 10 miles
There is a closer airport located in Lake Clear/Saranac Lake. It is a bit more expensive to fly into that airport but it's only 15 minutes away whereas Albany is located 2.5 hours south. Directions from Albany: - Take I-87 (Northway) north to Exit 30. - Pick up Route 9 north and follow it for two miles to Route 73. - Continue on Route 73 for about 28 miles to the Lake Placid region. - When you see the Olympic ski jumps on your left you will bear left onto Military Road (there is a sign to Saranac Lake there). - At the end of Military Road you will turn left on to Route 86 (again there is a sign to Saranac Lake). - When you get to Saranac Lake take a left at the second traffic light. - Heading south out of the village of Saranac Lake at the traffic light next to the Town Hall (on your right), go thru the light and over a small bridge, immediately turn left. - Continue about a mile and bear left (at the Glenwood/Kiwassa split). - You will bear left again at the tree with many name signs. - We are at the dead end of the road, #1150. The house numbers were recently changed (for 911 purposes) and the old house number was 303. Either way, we are at the dead end.
