The Grand Dutchess is a Second-Empire Victorian Mansion subtly updated to provide elegant and comfortable accommodations for the 20th Century traveler. An extensive collection of antique furniture and decoration provides the ambiance; firm queen-size beds, modern plumbing, and air-conditioning provide the comfort; and a deliciously self-indulgent breakfast provides the sustenance. We designed our Inn to be the Bed and Breakfast we'd want to stay at, and we think you'll enjoy a stay here, too. For the tech-savy traveler, we have a WIFI connection available free for guest use.

I stayed at the Duchess while picking my daughter up after her first year at Bard. Our hosts were flexible, graciously accommodating my very late arrival (close to midnight) and the unexpected need to have my daughter join me at the Inn that first night due to a failure of her dryer resulting in wet bedding. The room was lovely, the food was delicious, and the hosts are warm, resourceful and helpful!

A girlfriend and I visited the Hudson Valley to see the sites and stayed at the Grand Dutchess. So many of the reviews we had seen before were terrible, but our visit was not. The room was small, but adequate. There was a sitting room with coffee and a refrigerator with water provided by the inn. They took great pains with the breakfast meeting all of our dietary requests. Make sure you can do stairs, as there are many and they are steep! Otherwise, our stay was great.
