The Orient Inn is an amazing place to stay in a very special part of Long Island. I strongly recommend staying for at least two nights. I wish I could have stayed longer. Orient is a like a rare gem which has not changed very much in forty plus years. I plan on going back again. Breakfast was quite special and want to reserve a special dinner in advance next time I go.

My husband and I went to the orient Inn for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a perfect choice! Joan and Howard are delightful people, the Inn is beautiful and comfortable, the food a gastronomical and visual treat, and the North Fork magnificent. I would love to make the Orient Inn a habit!

Our stay at Orient It inn was so very pleasant. It is really a lovely place. Innkeepers Joan and Howard made it there mission to make sure we were comfortable, relaxed and had a good time. My only comment was that even though clean and comfortable, the rooms lacked a little "character". But I would go back again for the breakfast alone. The omelets were absolutely THE BEST I have ever had. They melted in my mouth. Delicious.

    nice place, extraordinary food

The house is charming and our room was nice. The hosts were welcoming and their dog, Flower, was adorable. The food was absolutely amazing. We had two delicious breakfasts and a dinner of local foods that was exceptional and not expensive. We ordered food earlier in the day with Joan's recommendation of what was in season. It was delightful to have dinner in the Inn after a long day, and it was as good a meal as I've had in fine restaurants in Paris or NYC.

We stayed here over a weekend in winter for a brief respite from the city...we loved the feel of the house and rooms; moreover, when we got stranded, bus-less, Sunday afternoon, the marvelously helpful owners were kind enough to pick us up AND give us a ride into town!
