Come and discover this beautifully restored 1906 Dutch Colonial/Arts and Crafts style Bed and Breakfast situated in the historic hamlet of Orient, NY. We are located on the bucolic North Fork of eastern Long island where visitors can enjoy a wide variety of activities: boating, kayaking and fishing on local waterways, hiking through protected parks and wetlands, golfing, biking, strolling and shopping in our lovely villages, or relaxing and swimming on the local beaches. In addition, the Orient Inn is located near farms, many excellent restaurants and award winning wineries. . The Orient Inn, restored to its original Arts and Crafts décor, offers its visitors 5 spacious airy guestrooms all with private baths and individual air conditioning. A full breakfast is served in our gracious dining room, with a fire in the winter, or in the warm weather on our wrap-around porch or in the garden under one of our magnificent maple trees. You'll feel at home in the casual elegance of this spacious home with high ceilings and beautiful but distinct details. We are located 110 miles from New York City, 3 miles from the Cross Sound Ferry to New London CT and the New England Area but light years away in feeling.

4.6 out of 5An amazing place
August 11, 2010
The Orient Inn is an amazing place to stay in a very special part of Long Island. I strongly recommend staying for at least two nights. I wish I could have stayed longer. Orient is a like a rare gem which has not changed very much in forty plus years. I plan on going back again. Breakfast was quite special and want to reserve a special dinner in advance next time I go.

My husband and I went to the orient Inn for our 25th wedding anniversary. It was a perfect choice! Joan and Howard are delightful people, the Inn is beautiful and comfortable, the food a gastronomical and visual treat, and the North Fork magnificent. I would love to make the Orient Inn a habit!
4.6 out of 5A wonderful place

Our stay at Orient It inn was so very pleasant. It is really a lovely place. Innkeepers Joan and Howard made it there mission to make sure we were comfortable, relaxed and had a good time. My only comment was that even though clean and comfortable, the rooms lacked a little "character". But I would go back again for the breakfast alone. The omelets were absolutely THE BEST I have ever had. They melted in my mouth. Delicious.
4.0 out of 5nice place, extraordinary food

The house is charming and our room was nice. The hosts were welcoming and their dog, Flower, was adorable. The food was absolutely amazing. We had two delicious breakfasts and a dinner of local foods that was exceptional and not expensive. We ordered food earlier in the day with Joan's recommendation of what was in season. It was delightful to have dinner in the Inn after a long day, and it was as good a meal as I've had in fine restaurants in Paris or NYC.

We stayed here over a weekend in winter for a brief respite from the city...we loved the feel of the house and rooms; moreover, when we got stranded, bus-less, Sunday afternoon, the marvelously helpful owners were kind enough to pick us up AND give us a ride into town!

...for my first ever B&B! The staff was courteous and helpful, the rooms were comfortable, and the food was delicious! I would highly recommend this quaint Inn, located just down the road from the wineries, beaches and the town of Greenport.
4.0 out of 5Tranquil B & B away from it all
April 13, 2007
We stayed at this B & B about 4 years ago. it was our first B & B stay and we enjoyed it so much we now only stay at B & B's. The rooms are very large and so are the beds. The room decor is a little sparse, but it matches the Long Island beach area. Innkeepers were excellent! Very nice people. One day we will have to return to this beautiful B & B.
