Unfortunately, we were charged twice for our stay, and we are sure the mistake will be rectified. When we made the reservation we used an AMEX card, and when we registered we used a VISA card. We assumed that the VISA card would be the one that would be charged. We thought the AMEX card was only a guarantee for the reservation. Any suggestion you could give us for receiving our refund would be greatly appreciated.

I want to personally thank you Skip and Marlene, they welcomed me into their home with love and compassion. I must say I will be back as I loved it there and wish I never had to leave. Thank you again Skip and Marlele for all your advice and love. Wendy Burt Fort Myers, FL

We were in Norwich for a family event and had made reservations at a motel in town. When we arrived to check-in, we were informed that they were over-booked and had no room for us. The other members of the family had booked four rooms, but only 3 were available. We were short two rooms. The desk clerk offered to call around to see if anyone in Norwich had availability. One place did, but with a bar on the premises, we opted to decline. The other family members took the room, reluctantly. The clerk called Splendor Inn and the innkeeper told her they did have a room that could accommodate 3 people. We arrived at 10:30 p.m. and were warmly greeted by the owners and taken to our room. We slept very well. The next morning, we were treated to a full breakfast and offered many choices of food. We were delighted to be able to get what we wanted for breakfast. We feel the innkeepers were most gracious in taking us in so late at night. B&B's do not have a 24-hour desk like motels. We felt welcomed and the innkeepers made sure we were comfortable. We will definitely recommend Splendor Inn to everyone and will stay there again should we return to Norwich in the future. The other family members were not pleased at all with their accommodations in two of the other motels in the city. The rooms were old and dirty in both, and one had a smoky smell throughout the building. Both had bars on the premises, and the noise level in the rooms was awful. Thank you, Splendor Inn, for making our stay, though short, a pleasant one!

I had visited "Just Memories" last year on a business trip, could not help but notice the "Colonial" home was decorated in overdone "Victorian" Crystal very dirty, just looked tired. I did not review as Sandy and Jim said they were selling and they too looked a bit tired. I went back last week, another business trip, "amazing" change. The new owners, (Skip and Marlene) since June or July I think, are trying to return this 1875 Colonial home back to it's country charm. I did not miss the dirty crystal, noticed new curtains in the dining room, and it seemed brighter if not cleaner. I had stayed in the front room, shared bath, the room was re-arranged bed off the windows so less street noise, new lamps and new appointments. Also loved white towels and make-up cloth provided. Last year one of the colored towels had bleach marks and looked worn. All and all this old colonial has a new look, and I found my stay both pleasant and comfortable. Breakfast was different with a fresh fruit cup, and choice of eggs or the daily special. I was also asked upon arrival if I had a special diet or would like "Chobani" Yogurt with my fruit I'll be back and have talked about joining friends to see the fall leaves I this quaint NY mountain retreat.

I had the pleasure of staying at Splendor Inn (formerly Just Memories) recently. I had stayed there once before about a year ago, and was hesitant to return. But seeing that there was new ownership, I decided to stay there again. What a treat it was to walk in through the front door and immediately notice that the house was different. Last year I arrived at 4 p.m. and walked in to an unlocked, and empty, house. The owners were not there and when I phoned them, I was told to go up to my room and they would see me in the morning. MORNING? There were no locks on any of the entrances, or the rooms. I was hesitant to leave my belongings in the room. I went out for awhile and returned to a dark house. A few other rooms were occupied, but only night lights were lit on the first floor. Breakfast the next morning was pancakes, bacon, fruit or juice and coffee. I had no choices. A second helping was not offered, but I was able to get a second cup of coffee. The second morning's breakfast was a waffle with bacon. I left the table each morning still hungry. I explored the house during the day and noticed that it was a very old colonial. The living room furniture was white, but needed a good cleaning. The carpets had not been vacuumed for days and my room did not appear to have been cleaned thoroughly before my arrival. The bathroom floor was dirty, as was the shower. But the new owners have taken pride in the Inn and have worked hard to improve it. The rooms are cleaner and the house is well lit at night. Soft music plays during the breakfast hours. Coffee is served all day and other guests were socializing with each other and the owners, and everyone was friendly. Newer living room furniture and less glittery decorating made a huge difference. We look forward to a return trip and a whole new look to this beautiful old house.

Beautiful old colonial house over 100 years old. Hearty breakfasts, wonderful innkeepers and comfortable rooms. New owners who relocated from Florida just a few months ago. They are in the process of restoring the house to its original colonial look. Previous owners changed the décor to Victorian, which took away the historic charm. Happy to see that the new owners are making a lot of positive changes. Exterior of the house was decorated in red, white and blue for the summer. Loved the patriotic details! We'll be back next summer, and maybe even sooner if we get the chance.

I stayed two night in a family suite at Splendor Inn with my two kids. The owners were very friendly and courteous and made every effort to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfasts were delicious. Highly recommended!

Just Memories was just sold in July, 2013 and renamed SPLENDOR INN. While we had stayed at Just Memories B&B twice before and loved it, the new owners are out of their element and have ruined this once charming B&B. Just Memories use to have a really nice ambiance with rooms and room furniture fit for the period, including one room that had very nice Victorian furniture. We use to love the place, but the new owner is getting rid of this charming with funky Colonial. But that's just the beginning. We never felt comfortable with the owners constantly prying into our business. At Breakfast, we had distant relatives staying here as well, and we couldn't talk to them, as the new owners wanted to go on and on about how they met, how he had become a minister of some church in Florida. You could tell that the owners really wanted this to be a Bed & Breakfast for people of their faith - and really - I just wanted to relax. I think what really annoyed me was when the owner began trashing the two other hotels in the entire town, as if to say, if you ever come to this town, you don't want to dare go to the other two places or you will be infested with bed bugs and or be harassed by prostitutes. Definitely not very professional or classy. This really turned me off about this place. All in all, we all decided we would not return and Just Memories B&B was just that - JUST A MEMORY Now - and not that good of one for such a once grand estate building. P.S. Our room, while it did have a bath, and was the same rate of the others, was much much smaller and the nothing like what we had before. Make sure when they give you your receipt that they give you an itemized receipt instead of a total. That too was very unprofessional.

Attended my HS's 55th reunion this past summer and was delighted to have stayed here. You cannot beat the location, located on the southern edge of norwich in a quiet residential neighborhood but you can walk anywhere you want to go. A fantastic italian restaurant 3 blocks away. A clean room with a nice varied breakfast. Would definately stay here again. Ron & Rose Balcom

I recently drove over to Norwich, NY to work in the local hospital. Housing was assigned for this B&B. What a lovely surprise. Sandy gave me such care, even helped me pack a meal for my overnight shift. Great conversation, never overbearing. She and her husband exuded such warmth, and insisted that I treat my stay as if I were staying at home. Very nice time. Will be so happy to stay there again. JG

We enjoyed our brief stay at this friendly, immaculately clean and well-appointed B&B. Only wish we could have enjoyed their hospitality longer. Loved having a "snack-nook"

I can't express how comfortable I was staying at the lovely B&B. The accomodations were outstanding. beautiful decorated, cofortable beds and linens. Everything I needed was available. I had access to a microwave, refrigerator snacks and cold water. Sandy and Jim were both delightful people. I had a great time visiting with them on the back porch. I love antiques and this is a haven for the antique lover. I look forward to staying here on all my return trips to the area. Awesome food and presentation and great coffee.

This was my first time at a B&B and I was pleasantly surprised. The hostess greeted me when I arrived late after a long trip. It was nice to wake up and smell bacon cooking for breakfast. I enjoyed having someone to visit with during meals since I was traveling alone on business.

If you're truly looking for a home away from home, with great hospitality and cleanliness, look no further than Just Memories. Jim and Sandy are two of the nicest people I've met in my travels. I'm glad they open their beautiful home to travelers. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone, and will stay there again when I'm back in town.

Come to Norwich for field hockey at local university. Lovely ornate nostalgic home. Love the crown molding and squeaky wooden floors. Sandy and Jim are pleasant hosts.

I travel for business, I've stayed here twice, and will continue to do so whenever I'm in the area. The Innkeepers do many special things to communicate care and comfort. Sandy Price cooks breakfast to please, and always enquires about an individual's preferences. Fresh cookies and bottled water always available. Good quality soaps and shampoos in the room. Blankets washed and sweet smelling. Jack the terrier smiles and wags when you come and go, feels like home. Each room has cable tv and air conditioning, unusual in my experience. Lovely place and people, great effort at hospitality. AAA+ innkeepers. Excellent value for the price.

We occupied three rooms at the B and B last weekend and all of us thought it was a great experience. The rooms were very clean, well appointed and comfortable. Sandy was pleasant to talk with, helpful with suggestions of things to do, and made us a delicious breakfast. Jack, the dog, was hospitable as well. We were in town for a funeral and felt compassion and were made to feel "at home". We would definitely stay there again.

Overall, the rooms are very nice. They all have TV with cable. Room at the front of the house has much road noise. Try to get a room at the back of the house. No temperature regulation for each room. The inkeeper was not at the house at arrival time. Had to back twice before they were finally home. The breakfasts are not the sumptious treats one would expect - both weekend breakfasts consisted of bacon and eggs with stale, dried out breakfast bread. Don't hope for an upscale dining experience. I rate this as a mundane Inn - and I have been extensively BnB'ing for over 25 years.

Just Memories offers immaculate, well appointed rooms in a historic home. The Innkeepers are welcoming and flexible to meet guest needs, and available to assist with special requests. Our stay was extremely comfortable. The home is well located in a quiet residential area, walking distance to shops and restaurants. We will definitely stay here when travel brings us to the area!

Sandy was a pleasure to deal with. My husband grew up on the area and we were returning to his childhood home. Sandy was knowledgable about the area and gave great advice on where to go. She cooked a phenomenal breakfast! The house was beautiful and we felt very comfortable there. (their dog was adorable!)
