My wife and I have waited (10) years to go on a honeymoon and I was embarrassed to have been bamboozled into staying here by false claims and reviews which appear to have been staged. Here's a partial list of lies: 1. "a beautifully furnished Inn"? Don't believe the main photo on their website - that street they're showing is about (40) blocks south of the actual location. we were greeted to peeling paint, hunks of what used to be brownstone and trash on the front stoop, dead plants and more trash in the vestibule. The boarded-up row-homes next door had better curb-appeal. Inside did not improve, with a single toilet for all guests, mold, musty and mildewy smells stinging your nostrils, and several obvious signs of imminent structural failure. The sheets were laundered at least but the mattress and pillows stunk. 2. "Cleanliness": Is it too much to ask to fix the holes in the walls / floors and live electrical wires? Maybe invest in a can of Raid? Maybe spray a little lysol on the pillows and mattress? My wife got to listen to a rat scratching at the bathroom ceiling while she swatted the bugs crawling around her. 3. Garden, dining room and kitchen? we were never shown to any other area of the house - as if they didn't want me to see it for fear of running-off! 4. TV - it was a 9-incher. 5. Parking: Claims of plenty of parking were false. 6. No A/C existed in our room- not even a fan. 7. Privacy - Apparently the folks downstairs enjoyed their stay - and each other - we heard all of it! We were scared to get undressed, bathe, and spent as little time as possible here. I can deal with the neighborhood, the parking, quirky-ness, and really appreciate old houses, but I feel we were lied-to by an Innkeeper who's Hotel renovation I was actively financing. Believe ALL the bad reviews! Buyer beware!

So we've been there without knowing much about the place, and as we got in, we we were really amazed to see how carefully and how ancient the house was furnished. If you want to sleep in a museum, that's the place! Nice wooden floors (makes a lot of noise though, especially at night... In spite of some pour noise isolation btwn rooms, it's quite a good deal for the price. 20 min from Time square (train 2/3), lovely breakfast around the corner and calm and safe neighbourhood. The bathtub is quite something. If you're picky, avoid.

The worst experience in my life!!

Note: dining not applicable. Nothing was like in the photo album!! There's only one bathroom for all the guests, with an incredible old, unattended tube with shower. Rooms are noisy (old air coolers) and there is a terrible stench in all the house. Stairs are old and narrow and, last but not least, the final balance on my credit card did not consider the deposit!!!

    Great place with style

It was our second stay at Tonys Bed & Breakfast, and we were nicely surprised how much this place improved over few years. The rooms are completely restored, painted each with different flair, clean and comfortable. This place is very quiet and safe and it's a great value in New York, with a very easy transportation to the main attractions in the city. Tony, the host was as usual very friendly and accommodating. Don't miss great antiques collection in the living room downstairs. Highly recommended!

The innkeepers were great about responding to my inquiry, but we had a problem with the website. I submitted my downpayment information and got sidetracked and did not realize I had not received a confirmation. So we lost our reservation. I suggest anyone making a reservation on their website follow up immediately with an email asking if they received it.

Tell the innkeeper that sent you.
