A Gem in NYC, An Incredible Find!

    February 10, 2013

After searching for months for a room in Manhattan, I came across this Gem, the Mount Morris House. The Owner made us feel so comfortable even at our first email communication that we booked the Jade suite for our week long Holiday in NYC. This was such a treat that along with all of NYC has to offer made our special trip a memory that we will have for a lifetime. Our wonderful and thoughtful host, Dimitri made us feel so welcomed and comfortable from the first email to the moment we regretfully, left our new home in NYC. There was nothing overlooked, we had everything we needed in our room. We even had 24 hour access to the fully stocked pantry with a large selection of tea, coffee and the wonderful home made cake! We also want to thank the lovely housekeeper that had our room made every day, something that is not expected in a guest house at such low rates. The location was also perfect with many choices of restaurants for breakfast and diner, it is also convenient to all public transport with the bus stop right in front and the subway just around the corner 3 blocks, a 5 minute walk and in 10 minutes we were at the center, Times Square. We also had the pleasure of meeting some of the other guests staying there from around the world, who were also very please and felt lucky that they had found the Mount Morris House as we were. We also Plan on visiting their beautiful guest house on the beach on the Greek Island this Summer. Thank You Dimitri for your hospitality, for sharing your Palacio and for making us feel part of your family and not just a bunch of strangers/tourists visiting your beautiful and exiting city had we stayed in a tiny, pricey Hotel room. We are so glad we found you, Peter and Melanie

    Nice experience

    April 11, 2012

As a first time visitor to New York I didn't quite know what to expect. Mount Morris House turned out to be the perfect choice. Twenty minutes from Time Square by Metro, ten minutes walk from Central Park in a rather charming area of Harlem. We loved the place. The courtesy as well as the service was outstanding.

It's Not Just a Place to Stay, It's an Experience!

    September 24, 2011

My sister and I stayed at Mt. Morris House for 7 days in August, 2011 and it far exceeded our already high expectations. The house and rooms are beautiful, the neighborhood is charming and friendly, and public transportation is close and reliable. We walked all over the neighborhood at all hours, and found everyone to be so friendly and upbeat. We loved our whole week visiting NYC, but this was definitely the highlight.

    A Treasure in Manhattan

    May 22, 2011

My daughter and I spent 3 nights at MMH in September 2010 and enjoyed our hosts, our room, and our meals. Breakfast each morning with other guests gave us the opportunity to exchange our experiences. Wonderful location with access to transportation to all of the sites. Great restaurants in the area with reasonable prices! We will be back for sure

    Best place in NYC

    February 05, 2011

I go to Manhattan every year and I always stay at Mont Morris. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and very clean. I have been in other hotels, but nothing can top this one. The area is also really nice, with good restaurants nearby. Subway station is close tot the hotel. I really recommend it.

    a true treasure, a traveler's home

    February 02, 2011

An unobtrusive Victorian brownstone in upper Manhattan houses an respite and retreat from business, play, or travel. The rooms are spacious and elegant, the common spaces comfortable and peaceful. Gorgeously restored private bathrooms add a feeling of luxury. Vasilli, the proprietor is a kind, engaging, wonderful host and brilliant ambassador to Harlem. Even though I was in New York for a brief 36 hours on business, I felt like I had actually traveled and had an experience, rather than feeling shuttled, trammeled and shut-up in a tinder box hole of a retail hotel. Close restaurants, library, museum, and subway station made my short stay easy and fun. As of now, for me, Mount Morris is the only place to stay in New York!
