Bubba & Bean (BB) Lodges

We have been to NYC many times over the years but have never found a value as good as this one. Our room was in the back and extremely quiet. Room was clean and well furnished. Treat basket was yummy and appreciated and local restaurant recommendations were spot on. Location is away from the touristy chaos but yet convenient to subway and in a nice area. Bubba and Bean is a great value and we highly recommend it!

We stayed here for two weeks in January 2013. It was a lovely, well-equiped room. It was serviced regularly, had free wifi and great heating. The location is good, close to the subway and within walking distance of the Guggenheim, the Met and Central Park. We had a room at the back so we didn't have any of the Lexington Avenue traffic noise. We'd definitely stay here again.

Had a wonderful stay with Jonathan & Clement and Bubba & Bean over Christmas 2012 and into the early parts of 2013. Our room was very clean, quiet and welcoming and exceeded our expectations - we loved that closeness to the bus stop and subway and always felt safe in the neighbourhood. We loved the welcome basket and the coffee machine got a real workout - we used our kitchenette everyday, cooking our breakfast and dinners. We would stay here again and thank the boys for creating such a lovely place for people to stay.

We stayed from Jonathan &Clement in february-march 2012. We felt really at home.Our room was very nice,clean and loving. Although the neighborhood is not very active,the proximity of the subway has compensated perfectly. Our trip to NY was wonderful also thanks to this comfortable accommodation.We miss it much! Jonathan and Clement were great hosts - they attended to the little details and provided us with a quiet and comfortable place to stay while we visited New York. Our suite was charming and nicely decorated. We enjoyed cooking dinner in the well equipped kitchen and also ate two fabulous dinners at nearby restaurants - Pitza Moustache and Yo In Yo Out.

Wir waren zu viert in einem Zimmer. Und es war sehr angenehm. Das Zimmer war gross. Das WC/Bad relativ sehr klein. Bis zur U-Bahn waren es knapp 5 min. Gleich dort gibt es ein tolles Restaurant, das Moustache, orientalische Spezialitäten. Die gegend fanden wir als sicher. Uns wurde auch am Abflugstag ein grosses Taxi organisiert, vor dem Hauseingang. Auch die gegend ist relativ sehr ruhig. Wir haben diese Woche sehr genossen. Die Zimmer wurden jeden Tag gereinigt und gebettet, ausser Sontags. Es war sehr sauber und gemütlich.

We stayed with Bubba and Bean for two weeks in February with our 9 month old son. Our room was beautiful, very spacious and very clean. Very close to the subway station, and a short subway ride into Times Square and all the touristy places. I would recommend for anyone except perhaps older travellers, as there are a few stairs to navigate. Brilliant value for money!!!

We stayed the last week of June in this guesthouse. It was just great! We also had a larger room then we asked and it was just faboulous. Very helpful owners, very clean rooms, outstanding beds,.. It really felt like homecoming after a busy day in New York! The house is just a few metres from the metro... Thank you very much for everything Jonathan and Clement! We had a great stay in the 4 pers room (we were just two). Spacious, cosy, clean, good beds, bathroom and utitilities. Nice, homey feeling, away from the hustle and bustle of lower Manhattan. Great location, would definitely recommend it.

Stayed at Bubba & Bean for 3 weeks at the beginning of Spring and loved every minute. Jonathan & Clement are great hosts, so charming and full of local insight. I had a good size studio that was always kept immaculately clean by Marlena. The location is great, really handy to the Subway stations, and the pizza downstairs is the best. Would definitely recommend and hope to go back again.

Bubba & Bean is the perfect place for your holiday. We stayed here for 1 week and it felt like home. Very close to Central Park and the Subway. Very clean rooms and all the facilities you need for your stay in NY. We hope to go back one day as we enjoyed NY so much. A great city !

This place is a real find for visitors who want a more personal and independent stay in Manhattan, along with a more local and authentic experience of the city. Jonathan & Clement have put great thought, care and attention into the spotless apartments and the facilities which are exactly as the photos depict. It was easy to walk a few blocks across to Central Park, Park Av, Madison Av, Fifth Av, all the main museums and then access transport links by subway or bus to go exploring downtown, uptown, wherever you so choose. The neighbourhood was quiet, friendly and with some great local dining for reasonable cost compared to downtown - plus plenty of shops, deli's and take outs if you wanted to make use of your apartment facilities and escape the high voltage buzz of the city for a while! Thoroughly enjoyed an 8 night stay! As a person in the hotel business, it was my first experience in a "lodge". Cleanliness was outstanding with beds and towels changed daily and even our dishes done! Truly peaceful after a 12 hour New York day! Loved visiting on stoop with the neighbours. Jonathan and Clement introduced us to the 6 train which was our ticket to everywhere in Manhatten and just a one block walk. Basket of coffee and treats was exceptional. We stayed at Bubba&Bean Lodges last summer and we loved it. We were welcomed warmly and Jonathan and Clement made all the efforts to keep us informed and arranged whatever was needed. Stayed here for 4 nights December 2008, just before Christmas. We had a family holiday, myself, my husband and two children aged 10 & 11. The rooms were fantastic quality - clean, well stocked and had everything a family could wish for. Jonathan and Clement were very helpful and were a great help in getting directions for us novices!! Would definately recommend Bubba & Bean to anyone who wants a fantastic quality B & B in a great area with great links to all the major sites.

Well, we 7 ladies enjoyed the hospitality at Bubba Bean. It was a second visit for some of us and we weren't disappointed. This really is the best place to stay, it is good value with no compromise on comfort. Ideally placed for transport and lovely locals too. Can't wait to come again some day. We had a wonderful visit to New York because of Bubba and Bean Lodges. The apartments were well maintained and comfortable. The location was very convenient to the local subway to get around to all the sights. Restaurants were right outside our door. We didn't meet a meal we didn't enjoy. All our needs were well taken care of and we would recommend Bubba and Bean to everyone.

The guys where very warm and welcoming; we did not see them much; but knew they where available if we needed them. It was so good to come HOME to a peaceful and quiet atmosphere after a long day of crowds. The subway is one block away and took us no time to get to all the places we wanted to get to. We did however walk a lot and enjoyed New York City so much. Like most tourist we thought that there was a central part of Manhattan. But after checking out Tripadvisor and the experts we realized that we where wrong. All the sights where all over the city and you have to walk or use the public transport to get from one location to another; the lodge was in a perfect location for this. There are also many great restaurants in the area; but what surprised me the most was not only Bubba and Bean, but how friendly New York is on whole. Everyone was willing to help with directions, and the neighbourhood was just perfect. We enjoyed sitting on the stoop and watching the neighbourhood and talking with the locals. I miss NYC!!! We will be back and Bubba and Bean will be our first choice!!

A lovely place to stay during a vacation in NYC.

We loved visiting J&C and Bubba and Bean! The rooms were so nice and the coffee next store was reasonable and fresh ground beans!The nieghbors were friendly and everything to see was a subway ride away and easy to get to.Will visit and recommend to our friends that this is the place to stay if going to NY. I had a tremendously enjoyable stay in June 2009. My couple's studio suite was the perfect base of operations while I blitzed on Broadway and took my friend around to a few of the tourist attractions. I appreciated the cleanliness, the location and the quiet most of all. Jonathan and Clement are most excellent hosts and I shall refer all friends/family to their establishment. There is everything you could possibly need for a few days or a few weeks. Full size fridge was perfect for keeping some small market items, water and restaurant leftovers. The beds were very comfortable, the water in the bathroom always warm and plentiful, and the location close to everything via subway, bus or walking. We have just came back from here and is highly recommended. We had the room with 2 single beds and was just the right size. Had a large closet to hang our clothes up and store our luggage. The bathroom had a great shower and the kitchen had a small supply of tea bags and sugar and a very large fridge. The location is ideal, 103rd station was less then 5 minutes away and the 6 line takes you to all the main areas. The area is very safe and with some great restaurants and handy shops nearby. Very recommended and we will be back in a few years!

I Stayed at the Bubba & bean lodge in Nov/Dec for 18days. The service was excellent and it was great having the owners on site for any queries. Both went out of there way to help with any questions and even organised transfers for returning to the airport. Room was spotless and cleaned every day. Yummy snacks in a basket on arrival. a lovely old house, well kept. apt had a nice kitchen, & was spacious. the area could be a bit depressing (due to the building of high rises), but the house was really nice to come back too. well lit & had small trees. it is also close to many museums & cultural activities, which i did enjoy. the innkeepers were attentive & were there for anything i needed. the winter rates were very reasonable. i would go back, & recommend this b&b for the budget traveler.

My family and I stayed here for 5 nights in October 2008. As it was our first trip to New York we did not know what to expect, but we were very pleasantly surprised on arrival at Bubba and Bean. Our room was immaculately clean, comfortable, quiet and just as good, if not better, than the photos on the website. We had the most amazing few days, made all the more enjoyable by being able to return to the sanctuary of a lovely room each evening. We found the location fine, with the subway very nearby and the bus just outside (we took the bus down to City Hall on our first day to get a feel of the city). There are plenty of places to eat, but our family particularly enjoyed the Joy Burger Bar - a very warm welcome and great food at very reasonable prices. All in all, we would recommend Bubba and Bean to anyone - we are staying there again later in the year when we revisit the city and can't wait to be back.

My friend and I stayed in BB in Dec 08. We found it very comfortable almost like home! We appreciated the daily cleaning service and also the privacy that we enjoyed. Jonathan and Clement were very thoughtful - they left a Christmas card and a bag of chocolates in our room on Christmas eve - and they really went out of the way to meet all our needs. We came to stay at BBlodges on 22nd-26th November 2008. It was my first time to New York. And i have to say that staying at BBlodges made it extra special. It is located in a perfect distance. Everything is a lovely walk away. Every time we came back to the room after a day out, the light would be on making us feel welcome and warm, and room was really clean. When they say that they want you to feel like home, well they do a great job in doing that. My friend and I had a great week in New York in June 2008, and our stay at the BB Lodges made it even more special. We loved the old houses, the room was very spacious and clean. We especially loved the welcome and the gift pack on arrival.

We've stayed in many places in NY and this place is a gem!! Wonderful apartment, great location, clean, nicely decorated and I love the towels --- so soft. A comfortable, cozy, convenient home away from home hosted by two of the nicest innkeepers ever. The beds are very comfortable, the room is nicely decorated, and the subway is only a block away. This is truly a find.

My girlfriend and I stayed at B & B Lodges in Sept - Oct 07 for a week while doing the whole NYC tourist thing... and we were so impressed with the cleanliness, the location, the friendly service and the amazing value for money! We heartily recommend to anyone thinking of visiting New York that they stay here, it's a 2 minute stroll to the Subway that takes you to Grand Central Station in around 10 minutes. Stay here and save a fortune compared to Mid-Town hotels! The rooms are spotless, we loved the free selection of American sweets as well! The housekeepers are excellent and the room is always clean and fresh for us - they even washed up for us which is above and beyond the call of duty and we say a heartfelt thank you to you. You must try the Mexican restaurant down the block - it's so good! All in all, we loved our stay and we will definitely be staying here again on our future visits to The Big Apple. people told us that above 94th st is not a safe place to go....Rubbish If you want an excelent B&B go here, if it's available! and more rooms are on the way - good luck with next door guys. I could fill this report with a load of detail but it is not needed. go here - it is good, clean, reasonably priced, quiet, well equiped, 1 small block from subway, bus outside, fresh flowers in the room and hallways, even a bag of popcorn! just stay here, you deserve it and the team do a real good job - suport them in their venture you will not regret it. (there you go guys, trust you still have my address for the cheque!)

I had a wonderful visit everyone was super caring about my stay and when I needed something they would help out the room was clean every day service.. the halls smelled a bit but when you have different people cooking there meals it is bound to be a bit odd.I would of liked an on site worker since i did lock myself out of the room and had to wait in my the hall for a bit of time (there are no phones in the rooms) but local calls are free from a phone in the lobby. I loved the chacter of the area people were friendly and there is a terrific spanish resturant across the street very low keyed but one of the best. staying here you feel you are really living in NYC.

We spent 3 nights in NYC, Dec '06 and enjoyed our little room away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. The innkeepers were most gracious and very helpful. Would have loved to have been able to use the little balcony off of our room but we realize that could be risky for the innkeepers. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks Jonathan & Clement for making our stay most enjoyable.
