My wife and I were looking for a nice peaceful get away in the Finger Lakes Region so we can explore some wineries, brewery's and enjoy some peaceful romantic alone time. We chose the Fox and the Grape due to its central location to the various wineries, State Parks by the Falls and restaurants. We were not disappointed. The B&B was clean and charming. The owner, James very nice, friendly and a wealth of information on where to go, and what to do. His "assistant", Lisa is just as wonderful, ask her anything about the area and she will point you in the right direction. Want to sample sweet wines, no problem Lisa knows where to send you, want dry full body reds, no problem for Lisa and she is spot on. Knows where to send you and away from the bus loads that frequent the area on week-ends. Breakfast is made by James who is amazing in the kitchen and when he is busy Blanch is a cracker jack in the kitchen with home made breads and pastries and stomach stuffing entries. You cannot leave on an empty stomach especially if you are going wine tasting. There is a great room for all the guests to mingle and that serves as the TV room. James lets you run the house except for the Private Areas where he resides in the house. There is a big porch overlooking the lake where you sit and marvel at the beauty that is Seneca Lake. If, no make that when my wife and I return to the Finger Lakes I will book the Thaddius Room with the wonderful king bed, private bath and small sitting area. Terrific three nights and thanks to the staff at the Fox and the Grape for a super get away break!

The owner of the inn is very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We arrived early without any notice and were able to get into our room. Jim was happy to give us suggestions for both dinner and the wineries to check out. He made me a delicious special breakfast to meet my gluten free diet. The view from the deck is beautiful and so relaxing. Would stay again.

Fox and Grapes is an excellent B&B to stay in the Finger Lakes area. Very close to several wineries, breweries, etc. Jim & Rose are outstanding hosts and were very accommodating. One person in our group had many food allergies and they made every effort to work w/ her. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Stayed in the Ophelia room. It is their most expensive room, but had a lot of space for us. Had bedroom, own bathroom, big closet, living room, and a sitting room. Was there for a wedding so space for us to sleep and then sprawl out and get ready for wedding. Would definitely recommend this place to stay if in the area.

We arrived a bit earlier and the Innkeeper wasn't there to greet us. However, we went out for some wine tasting. The innkeeper was apologetic and the rest is good. Gave us an intensive history of the house and how it was built. We all had a good time. I would come back again someday.

A lovely inn with period furnishings. Warm, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was gourmet. Our host, Jim, was personable and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

this was our first time at a B&B and it exceeded all our expectations. Jim was a fantastic host and made us feel right at home. I don't think we will ever stay at a hotel or motel ever again. we hope all our experiences with B&Bs will be just as good

Awesome place to stay on Seneca Lake with great views!

The rooms were clean and quaint. The view of Seneca lake from the deck was awesome. I reccomend the lake facing rooms as the other rooms are facing the road and the street traffic is load in the morning. This B&B is located close to many wineries but dining close by is very limitied. The staff was excelent at accomidating my food allergies for breakfast and helpful in planning outings.

The place was very well maintained, very clean. Jim is a good cook. My only complaint was the mattress was a little worn. We had breakfast out on the deck over looking Seneca lake and also enjoyed the sunsets

We loved the B&B and will be staying with them again. It is a very relaxing setting with a terrific view. The owner is very pleasant, and he offers an eye-appealing decor. We will recommend his B&B to others.

We visit the wine country once a year and always stay in a b&b. We could not have been more pleased with the Fox and Grapes. Beautiful room, well kept, warm greeting, and a sumptuous breakfast. We spent our evening on the deck, watching the sunset and drinking a newly-purchased bottle of wine. Our host, Jim, was friendly, knowledgeable, and a great breakfast chef! Will definitely recommend to others.

Jim was a great host. The breakfasts were wonderful and the rooms were very nice and the house is well kept. We were looking for a special weekend for my wife's birthday and the Fox and the Grapes helped with that.

What a beautiful place, reminded me of my home when I was growing up and of my grandmother's as well. The staff was excellent in every way. The room was spacious and so comfortable. The side porch was my husband's favorite spot. He could just sit and relax with no care in the world. I enjoyed the large back deck that looked out over Seneca Lake. Just breath taking. Made new friends and enjoyed and evening of just playing a board game and not being on the computer or in front of the TV. Will definitely recommend this to others and will be back for sure.

We were engaged at the Fox and the Grapes back in March of 2009. What wonderful memories! And returned April 2011. Jim really knows how to make his guest's feel right at home with his hospitality. The place is immaculate and holds gorgeous views of the lake. What hard work and creative talent when you view the "before and after" pictures of when Jim first started giving lots of love to the Inn. Breakfast was delicious and helped to fill our appetites before we ventured out to the wineries. Perfect place to escape from reality!

We stayed in the Balcony room for two nights in February as a Valentine's Day getaway. The inn was charming, with lots of history and common space to be used by guests. The room was small but well decorated and comfortable. The bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and VERY filling which made our stay especially worth the while. The innkeeper Jim was very enthusiastic and friendly as were all the employees we encountered. Would highly recommend!!

We fell in love with The Fox and the Grapes on our first visit to Seneca Lake back in 2005 and we've been returning each year since. Upon arriving, Innkeeper-Jim greets you with a warm welcoming smile. The inn is a quaint victorian setting with a home-like feel. Each room, and we've stayed in them all, has it's own character and charm. Jim's hospitality is only surpassed by his fabulous breakfast creations, and he manages to out-do himself each morning...Centrally located on the east side of Seneca Lake, The Fox and the Grapes B&B is conveniently located near many wineries, a brewery, and excellent restaurants which will give you a flavor of the best that Seneca Lake has to offer. Our only regret is that the more visitors stay with Jim, the less avaliability we have to return...

Got married and spent two nights at the Fox & the Grapes, and the experience could not have been better. Both the building and the grounds are emaculate. You wont find anything out of place or unkept. The owner Jim goes out of his way to take care of any needs or interests you have. He even personally called in dinner reservations for us at a nearby restaurant. His cooking and service are also top notch. Take in a beautiful view of Seneca Lake from the massive back deck during breakfast. Quiet, clean, and comfortable - this place will not dissappoint.

Our children gave us a gift certificate from B&B.com for our anniversary two years ago which we used at The Fox and the Grapes. From our first communication with Jim to our arrival, stay and exit, everything was as he said it would be. The Inn was beautiful and very well cared for. The service was excellent and the breakfasts were wonderful (accomodating a vegetarian without hesitation). The Fox and the Grapes is the perfect location to tour the finger lake region with winerys and great restaurants. Jim and his staff are the perfect hosts. We would highly recommend this beautiful place any time of the year. It was a bonus that they accept B&B.com gift certificates. We loved our stay and found a winner with The Fox and the Grapes.

New to the Finger Lakes we had no idea what to expect or where to go. Jim helped plan our winery tour and give us his recommendations for our dining needs. We enjoyed his hospitality, extremely clean inn, and his fabulous breakfasts. Looking forward to our next visit.
