we went to spend our anniversary overnight. I had ordered a small cake for two which was an add-on for the room...turned out to be nice touch...I wasn't too keen on a bed and breakfast but my wife wanted to stay in one so I chose the Trails End Inn. I'm glad I did ! I was pleasantly surprised by the stay...The place was well kept and clean and the people were extremely friendly...I would recommend to friends.

Trips to the Trail's End Inn are one of the highlights of the year for my wife and myself. Susan, Dave and staff are remarkable, and create the perfect atmosphere in which to relax and recharge. Additionally, the location couldn't be more perfect.

The place is beautiful and very well located for hikers. The room was clean, the breakfast was good. However, we were disappointed to get a so cool reception at our arrival, no warmth from owners, we even thought think we were not welcomed. The lack of warmth was also felt in the fact that it was so cold at night downstairs, that we have changed our minds and decided not to sit there to read or play games downstairs. Why not leaving some light, do a fire in the fire place, and say hello with a smile?
Wow! We are always disappointed when a guest isn't happy, but it's a rare occurrence, as can be seen by the other reviews posted. It's hard to respond to these generalities that lack any specifics. We and our staff are always friendly to our guests so we don't know what this person is referring to, just look at the other comments left by other guests. Yes, we do leave the thermostat set at 63. It's common for guests to turn the thermostat up if they are cold, or set a fire in the fireplace! There are always lights on, and again, guest usually turn lights on when they want more light! Our guest like the fact that we allow them to enjoy the Inn with out a lot of restrictions or interference by the owners. We are always here and try to accommodate our guests' needs, if they tell us what they are.

Love the relaxed use of the Inn during our stay, plenty of space for our small group to socialize, charming owners and staff. Loved the bed - so comfortable. Loved being able to come and go as we wished and really appreciated being able to do a hike and then get cleaned up on our check out day. Of course the breakfast was top notch.
