My wife and I stayed at the Inn on Columbia for two nights in early October and thoroughly enjoyed it. We made a last-minute reservation and got a discount on our room. We were given a suite in a free-standing octagonal gazebo-style building, which had windows all around and a wrap-around deck. The room also included a fireplace, flat-screen TV, and a very large soaker tub. It was perfect for us, as we had a small dog with us, and other guests would not be disturbed by his occasional barking. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The Inn itself was nicely decorated and had a welcoming atmosphere, Our hosts, Kenn and Madeline, were very friendly and helped us with dinner and sightseeing recommendations. The breakfast was excellent and generous, consisting of juice, coffee/tea, fresh fruit, homemade muffins and scones, and a choice of eggs, waffles, french toast, etc. I had read from other reviewers that the Inn could accommodate people with food sensitivities if calling ahead. As I have a sensitivity to wheat/gluten, I called ahead and Madeline provided excellent gluten-free muffins and homemade waffles. What a treat! There are many restaurants within walking distance of the Inn. The up-hill walk back helped to burn off some of the calories. In particular, I'd highly recommend Just a Taste, which is a Spanish-style tapas restaurant. There are so many things to do in Ithaca and the surrounding area that we just scratched the surface in our 2-night stay. We'll be back!

The owners' aesthetic sense and culinary ability made our stay at the inn exceptional. Breakfast included was gourmet, and cooked to order, making it easy to eat gluten free. The clean, beautifully furnished, warm, comfortable room on a snowy night in Ithaca was private and quiet. We walked to the commons for dinner, and the owner's recommendations were excellent. We will return. Amazing value for the winter special/procrastinator price!

This was our first trip to Ithaca to visit Cornell. Our stay at Inn on Columbia was wonderful. The owners are professional, attentive, and friendly. Breakfast both mornings was delightful and would rival the finest restaurants. The location was close to dinning and shopping at Ithaca Commons and very convenient to both Cornell University and Ithaca College. We will stay again.

From the moment we set foot on the property, it was clear that the owners have an exceptional sense of style. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the decor is a delightful mix of old and modern. Lights are on motion sensors and timers. Off-street parking is available for the guests. We stayed in the main house, so our experience was quiet and surprisingly secluded. There was plenty of hot water, the towels were luxuriously soft, and the body wash provided smelled like biscotti! The Inn is only a couple of blocks from Ithaca Commons -- about 5 minutes, if you're walking. In addition to a plethora of fresh fruit, juice, coffee/tea and muffins, we were served a full breakfast (which tasted like it was straight out of Cook's Illustrated or Food & Wine). Our hostess was very accomodating with alternative choices for those with unique dietary needs or allergies.

The room was nice but the curtains let in alot of light and street traffic was alot noisier than I thought it would be. The breakfast was a generous box of fruit and baked goods. I might stay there again but only if they were having a special on the prices again.
