The perfect gift for every occasion

  • The Adirondack Room. The restaurant dining room has a traditional Adirondack “warm” wood atmosphere. The ceiling is traditional chalet style with beams and knotty pine interior. There is also a beautiful native stone fireplace. Lake and mountain views are visible through the deck windows.
Our cottages have views of Indian Lake and surrounding mountains.
This is a view accross Indian Lake and islands from the dining room deck.

The Adirondack Country Inn is a Chef owned and operated facility. We offer Bed & Breakfast lodging, cottages and a full menu dining room that is available to our guests on a daily basis. The Adirondack Smokehouse Barbecue Company is the name of our catering service. Real Pit Southern BBQ is served in the Inn's dining room. The Inn is open all year long and is located on Route 30 (Adirondack Trail Scenic Highway), 6 miles south of Indian Lake, New York. The property is on a plateau at the base of Snowy Mountain (elv. 3995') overlooking Indian Lake. "Snowy" is the highest mountain outside of the Adirondack Mountains High Peaks Region and is a popular four seasons hiking destination. We are centrally located in the middle of the Adirondack Park. In addition to the limitless activites in the region, guests can also enjoy relaxing, scenic, day trips to Lake Placid, Lake George and Old Forge.

    Quiet Hide-away

    June 12, 2008

They now go by the name "Snowy Mt. Inn." The restaurant is no longer open to the public, but they will have excellent BBQ on hand for those staying at the inn as they are still in the catering business. This small family-owned and operated inn is the perfect place for some peace and quiet sprinkled with fabulous hospitality! They have two cozy but comfortable cabins which are tastefully furnished reflecting the Adirondack style. Each has a comfy queen bed, small bath w/shower, living room (separate from the bedroom) with easy chair, futon, and satellite TV. They also have two rooms w/shared bath in the lodge, which I did not see (no phones in rooms or cabins). Great views of Indian Lake. A "light" breakfast consisting of breads/toast, pastries, cereals, yogurts, juices, coffee and a large fruit bowl are served at your table each morning in the lodge and is included in the price. If you desire a hot breakfast (eggs, pancakes, meat) it's a few dollars extra per person, but worth it if you need the protein boost before a day of hiking. Judy, the innkeeper, was attentive and flexible and was hospitable above and beyond what we would ever have expected. Quite frankly, it spoiled us and I'm sure that no other lodging will ever match it. Is this place glamorous or opulent and in the middle of all the action? No. Does it have lots of bells & whistles? No. What it does have is a clean, peaceful and inviting atmosphere away from the tourist trap hub-bub. A few miles to the Blue Mountain Lake area on scenic route 30. Off the well-worn path but worth it!

    RELAXATION

    May 30, 2007

My husband surprized me with a weekend stay at the Snowy Inn and I loved it. The cabins were comfortable and very clean and the views were great. If you go, eating at the restaurant is a must. The food was great along with the service.
