Hudson is essentially an antique shop mecca set in the lovely Hudson Valley -- about 25 minutes north of Bard college. Much of Warren Street is devoted to the little shops full of nicknacks and there are relatively few decent places to get a meal. There is one establishment that stands head and shoulders above the rest in understanding quality -- quality of service, quality of food, quality of cleanliness, and the quality of a peaceful setting to rest at the end of the day -- The Inn at Ca'Mea. My fiancee and I spent two nights at Ca'Mea in the fall and enjoyed a wonderful meal one of those nights. In fact, we enjoyed it so much, we returned for a four night stay over the July 4th week. In the fall, we stayed in the attic room of the second house (across an alley from the main Inn). It is a charming room with a unique and modern bathroom, but you need to watch your head on the sloping ceilings! On our recent visit, we stayed in the room with the balcony overlooking the inner courtyard. It is the perfect place to stay. The balcony is small but shaded in the afternoon and adds just the right amount of space to really unwind. The room has everything you need, including a very nice and modern bathroom. The staff, including Bridget, the girls behind the bar and Max, make you fell welcome from the first moment they see you. The dining experience at Ca'Mea is terrific. If its available, I HIGHLY recommend the lamb ribs! Incredible flavor! Although our reasons to return to Hudson may be few in the future, we will always stay at the Inn at Ca'Mea whenever we do. When you stay at a very expensive hotel, you often feel the pressure to take advantage of everything available at the establishment to feel as if you gotten value. The Inn at Ca'Mea is a very reasonably priced establishment that has a simple warmth that really makes you feel as if you've found gold for the price of silver.
