The Croff House Bed & Breakfast

My wife and I came to Hudson for a short honeymoon and absolutely loved staying at the Croff House. The place was immaculately kept, the house and the room were charming and the breakfast was incredible (more like a 5-course meal). Duncan and Russ were terrific hosts and all of their recommendations on dining in the area were spot on. Can't wait to come back!

We travelled to Hudson to visit the Olana Partnership and were amazed at the service that we got from the Croff House Bed & Breakfast. Russ and Duncan were so pleasant to work with in arranging our stay and made a delicious (and very filling) breakfast for us the following morning. My girlfriend and I had a great stay at the Croff House! We stayed in the Chace Suite, which had a large, beautiful bathroom and gas fireplace, which heated the room nicely. I would highly recommend staying here! Russ and Duncan were very accommodating :)

We very much enjoyed our long weekend stay at the Croff House in January. I took my boyfriend upstate for his Birthday weekend. We loved the Croff House. It was about as idyllic as it can get. A beautiful Victorian home with beautiful rooms and friendly hosts. Hudson was adorable with fantastic restaurants and great shopping. Also, checked out Olana Historic Site at the suggestion of our hosts. We will be back many times. This is the place you want to stay. Did Imention how amazing the bathtub was???

My husband and I stayed at The Croff House for 4 nights, just before the New Year. Duncan and Russ were great and extremely accommodating. For instance, my husband had some specific dietary requests and they were able to ensure he could enjoy the wonderful breakfasts without concern. Amazing rooms with huge comfortable beds and luxury showers. Breakfasts freshly made that include homemade yogurt with fruit, sausage and homemade waffles with homemade whipped cream and cherries. Everything fresh! Take all that and add the great service of Russ and Duncan who will lead you in the right direction in the area and this B&B is the best out there.

We found the Croff House answered our every need. The room was warm and cozy reading in front of the fireplace and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was a treat only topped by the hospitality of Duncan and Russ. The location of the Croff House is with in walking distance of everything in town and gives you the opportunity to stroll the streets as if you lived in this charming town. It's an easy trip from NYC and we plan to return there often.

I had an incredibly lovely stay at the Croff House. I stayed in the most frugal room and it was amazing. Huge soft bed, incredible spa shower, and appealing decor. The rest of the house is equally pleasant, from the library to the garden. The food was impeccable; Duncan and Russ are extremely knowledgeable and will talk your ear off regarding local history and architecture which was fascinating. I am still enjoying my medium jar of Strawberry Blueberry Cinnamon jam two weeks later. If I ever find myself back in Hudson, there is no question as to my accommodations.

Two years after our first trip to Hudson, NY and the Croff House, we booked the same room for our wedding weekend. Per usual, it was a treat to stay there. During our one-night stay at the Croff House, my husband and I were exceedingly impressed: the owner was warm, welcoming, and informative about town (mere blocks away) and area sights; our room (including fireplace) was spacious, impeccably decorated, and thoughtfully well-stocked with electronics and items often forgotten by travelers; multi-course truly gourmet breakfast and endless great coffee topped off the stay. Multiple indoor and outdoor common spaces at the house complete the comfortable stay. The entire house is restored to original architectural glory.

The room was charming, but we did not/could not watch the beautiful TV...because of it's location in the room. The shower was lovely, the bed was comfortable.The breakfast was odd.

My husband and I received a gift certificate for this B&B. We didn’t know what to expect. We left NYC really late and we were worried about getting into to the house. We called the house. Ross and Duncan were very nice and told us not to worry. They were going to leave all the direction at the entrance for us. Once we arrived the directions were at the door. Next morning they were very nice and had breakfast ready for us. They knew our names and give us directions and recommendations for what to do around town. The room was very clean and comfortable. Overall, we had a great experience. Definitely we will go back. They made our stay great!.

My wife an I have been staying in B&Bs for over 40 years. We like the informality and comfort they provide, as well as the chance to meet other interesting people, including the innkeepers. The Croff House is no exception. In fact it's one of the best we have ever had the pleasure to stay. Everything is top class - service, food, friendliness and comfort. Can't recommend it enough. And the town of Hudson is a real gem - full of historic architecture and very well situated to see everything on the Upper Hudson River Valley. From the moment we stepped into the Croff House we felt very comfortable and revived after a long day of driving. Our room was lovely and our spa shower very relaxing. Russ and Duncan had suggestions for dinner within walking distance and the restaurant we decided on was wonderful. There is a great attention to detail. The interior is full of original detail however new bathrooms and upgrades to accommodate technology make the Croff Inn extremely comfortable. There is a lovely garden with a fountain which is a lovely place to sit and read. Breakfasts are great. Each morning Russ and Duncan serve home baked muffins, fruit and yogurt and an entree. Saturday morning was a great baked french toast and Sunday, huevos rancheros. They are incredible hosts; friendly and attentive but in a quiet respectful manner.

We were there for two nights of our vacation as we toured the FDR home, Hyde Park, FDR Presidential Library, Val Kil and the Vanderbilt Mansion. Our room was nicely furishhed, very clean, and the service was excellent. The breakfast's were among the best of our vacation in New York. The reccomendations as to where to eat in Hudson were also excellent. We would reccomend this B & B to those staying in the area.

Russ and Duncan are the sweetest, most considerate B&B owners. We felt so welcome and completely taken care of. Our room was spacious and the claw-footed bathtub (Chase Suite) was divine. Breakfast, prepared and served by our hosts, was fresh orange juice, muffins, almond-butter pancakes with a mixed berry topping, and sausage. The coffee is organic and delicious. I also noticed an extensive selection of teas. We enjoyed sitting in the rocking chairs on the front porch during the afternoon and lounging in the backyard at night while we gazed at the stars. Our hosts were both there to welcome us to Hudson and to see us off. They were gracious and kind and guess what!? We already booked another weekend at the Croff House!

My trip to Hudson almost did not happen since my original lodging of choice had no vacancy. But I was determined to take my solo vacation. The Croff house and a few others had vacancy for my weekend of choice so my research started all over again. I read reviews after reviews and looked at hundreds of pictures online before I decided that Croff House was a great alternative. After a beautiful and traffic free ride on the Taconic, I arrived at The Croff House.  Duncan meet me at the door and gave me a warm and friendly welcome. I got a tour of the the house, which was beautiful, a quick run down of the best places to eat in town and places to avoid, and before leaving me to do my own thing, Duncan encouraged me to make use of all the available space at the Croff House. I woke up to a delicious three course breakfast each morning I was there. On both days I was so stuffed that I did not need to eat again until well after the normal lunch hour.  I spent most of my time at the house since the purpose of my trip was to relax. I would either sit on the back patio or front porch but when the bugs got too aggressive, I moved inside with my book or IPad. I remember being outside and Russ got me a glass of lemonade. The perfect drink on a hot day and just an example of the great customer service I received for my stay.  The house was 5 minutes away from all restaurants and shops so I was able to walk everywhere.  Overall, I enjoyed my stay in Hudson and at the Croff House. I definitely plan on returning and will make sure that this time around I stay an extra day. Thank you Duncan and Russ for a wonderful, relaxing weekend!

finding a special B&B outside Westchester, NY for my mom's 80th, was no small feat. Croff House was the pinnacle of a find. It is a beautiful historical house, brought up to date with class, and amenities, yet preserving every historical aspect. Its past is accented with trendy interior design, paint, and decorations, that do not detract one iota from the historical beauty of its interior. The two owners are warmth and personality itself, and bent over backward to make your stay special in their daily hands on approach. From postcards pre-stamped with pictures, to steaming smoked gouda and roasted pepper muffins, to magazines and spa products laid out...every detail is carefully tended too. It is a truly wonderful place, one that leaves you desiring to come back, no matter where you stem from...what more could one ask for...just go.

My beloved late grandparents owned this home for many years. It has always been my "dream home", a place I want to own someday. I hadn't been there since about 1988, so it was lovely to return and see "her" in her newer glory. But she still has the lovely structures and quaint appeal. Many things are expertly restored. The bedding, the baths, the luxury was like we were royalty. The pleasure of Russ and Duncan's welcoming charm is a true memory and we treasure our friendship with them. Our young daughters absolutely enjoyed the entire stay. The breakfast was out of this world--melt in your mouth waffles with berry sauce, fantastic sausage (and I'm picky about brands), creamy yogurt and fresh melon. We met some lovely couples while we were there. We certainly will be lifelong friends of TCH and Russ and Duncan. Their recommendation to eat at BaBa Louie's for dinner was spot on!-wonderful people and excellent wine and pizza!

We felt the window screens to provide fresh air and fans would suffice and apologize if you were uncomfortable in any way. We will be putting our window a/c units back into each room this week. These units allow each guest to control the individual temperature of their own room. Had you let us know you were warm we would have installed the unit in your room immediately. The rooms are just beautiful, with great care given to guests' comfort, from the high-thread-count sheets to the complementary amenities in the bathrooms. We recently had our second visit to the Croff House and had a thoroughly wonderful time. It's by far the BEST bed and breakfast I've ever stayed in. Russ and Duncan are fantastic hosts. The breakfasts aren't your typical quick meal, but rather a full three courses, all made fresh. The breakfast consists of: 1. pastry, 2. yogurt and fruit, 3. entree with side. They are all carefully balanced out, so if the entree is sweet (eg, pancakes with a vanilla raspberry sauce) then the pastry is savory (eg, parmesan muffin), or if the entree is savory (eg, southwest egg fritada) then the pastry is sweet (eg, cinnamon, brown sugar muffin). Unlimited orange juice, coffee, and tea are also included. For the tea, they offer a very wide assortment of Harney & Sons, which is much appreciated and fantastic. The accommodations are very comfortable and quiet. The house is beautiful. We stayed in the Chace Suite, so got to use it's deluxe tub, which was extremely relaxing. Every day we spent a little time in the large, yet cozy common areas reading. Russ would always have the makings of a fire ready in both fireplaces. if he was around when we sat down, he'd immediately get one started. The location is very convenient to the downtown Hudson area. It's a quick and interesting walk, with the advantage of the seclusion of Willard Place. We will be coming back.

I am happy to share my extremely satisfactory experience in staying at the Croff House B&B on Saturday 1/21/12. My husband and I go to a lot of B&B's and this was easily one of the best. An easy trip from the NYC area, even easier from Westchester, we arrived to find a beautifully redone home with fabulous amenities. Though we had the smallest room, the Edmonds, it was perfect and had the most comfy bed ever. The sense of care taken to make everything perfect was impossible to miss. The inn is immaculately clean. Turn down service included a note about the weather for the following day and a scented candle and matches with a note to take it home to remember our stay. How sweet! While the inn is a tad chilly for me, kept at 67, I fully understand why. 12 foot (or so) ceilings must make it extremely hard to keep warm but electric heaters are in each room and ours was toasty in minutes. The fireplaces in the common rooms are ready to go at any time. Seriously, I cannot think of one things Russ and Duncan didn't think of. I forgot my make up remover and found make up remover clothes in the hospitality kit in the bathroom, along with some lovely high end toiletries. Give me high thread count sheets, pricey toiletries and a firm, yet soft, bed and I am in heaven. Breakfast! What a treat. I was presented with a gluten-free muffin and I know another guest, who was lactose intolerant, had her dietaries needs attended to as well. What service! And all with a smile. From the muffin, to pineapple over yogurt with crystalized ginger to a delicious omelette with potatoes, everything was superb. Even the crash of their instant hot water heater was treated quickly and professionally. The switch over to the old system was accomplished and we had hot water right after breakfast. These guys are on TOP of their game. Professional, courteous, welcoming and they have the good taste to live in a to-die-for Victorian next door. So, if you're thinking of a trip in Columbia County, choosing Hudson and Croff House will more than satisfy even the pickiest traveler.

My partner and I wanted to celebrate our 25th someplace special and The Croff House was just the ticket. We loved the suite, with plush seating, fireplace, super comfortable bed, and the best shower ever. There were fabulous common rooms available for the guests, as well. We had a lovely time in this uber clean, sophisticated and surprisingly quiet B&B. Sometimes in an old house you can hear your neighbors and are afraid to make a peep - not so here, they've soundproofed! It was the perfect place to celebrate my husband's birthday. Every detail was considered, and every comfort arranged for. The bathroom was modern and spacious, and the large breakfast was absolutely delicious! Just a short walk to great dining at Swoon or DaBa - both absolutely top notch. Also swallow coffee bar had terrific coffee. Russ took great care of us! This place is wonderful. I have stayed here twice for four and five days at a time because I had to be in Hudson for a conference. I couldn't have been more pleased and wouldn't stay anywhere else now. Russ and Duncan have really thought of everything; from the extra comfy beds with pristine bedding to the toothpaste, writing pads and umbrellas for rain. The house is roomy and feels like there is plenty of privacy. Russ and Duncan (mostly Russ) are around just enough but very are available for problems and concerns. My cousin, who was traveling with me, had dietary limitations which Russ did his best to accomodate. At the end of my stay, Duncan took me to the train station. I loved it. I will go back.

Being The Croff House (yes, a doily-free property) was originally built in the 1870's some of the guest rooms are somewhat smaller than others, making for a cozy night's sleep. Glad you enjoyed the bathroom as well as all the other amenities we provide our guests. Harney and Sons makes such wonderful teas it was hard for us to narrow them down to 22, and even with that we had to eliminate some. I recently stayed at The Croff House for 2 nights while in Hudson to attend an event. It's location is perfect. It's on a quiet street but within a few blocks from fantastic restaurants, shops and art galleries. I was greeted very warmly and made to feel right at home. My room was decorated beautifully by someone who really has skill. The bathroom was luxurious and the shower was the largest I've ever used. Finally, I knew I'd picked the right place when I returned from my day of exploring Hudson to smell fresh Snickerdoodles right out of the oven. Delicious!

It's hard to put into words exactly how wonderful our stay was at the Croff House. We stayed one night (Thursday) in Croff House. Two seeks prior to our stay we received an email that we were upgraded to a more expensive room. The old house was beautifully restaured and decorated. Hosts Russ and Duncan were friendly, but wanted to give us privacy. They live in the house next door, leaving the Croff House to guests to enjoy, but they were still available if needed. Our room was beautiful, lovely bed and wonderful bathroom with both big bath tub and high tech shower. Breakfast was delicious; blueberry muffin, cantaloupe salad with candied ginger and sausage with scrambled eggs. Every detail was carefully planned from hand poured candles in rooms to bathroom amenities. We would love to come back some day.

I searched the internet for a great place to stay when we went to the wedding of a good friend's daughter. Found the Croff House and then 2 of our friends also decided to stay. Russ and Duncan made the 6 of us feel so welcome! And we were amazed how quickly they remembered which of us was which and who was married to whom! We all loved our rooms. My husband and I stayed in the Edmunds room downstairs... maybe a little smaller than the others, but so light and bright, and a bathroom to die for! Our favorite thing was to sit out on the back porch, listening to the fountain trickle, and feeling the cool breeze. It was so comfortable there, that we could hardly remember how hot and humid it was in the sun! And the breakfasts... oh the breakfasts! Who needs lunch when the breakfast is such a feast??! We loved everything about our stay at the Croff House. The inn is incredibly charming and romantic, and has been carefully and meticulously renovated. The décor is warm, modern and all rooms are beautifully decorated. We stayed in the large Esselstyn Suite, which is light and bright with a fabulous bed and even more fabulous bathroom. We especially loved the over-sized soaking tub (bath salts provided) and comfy chaise lounge. The 3-course breakfasts were exceptional – and by far, the best we had on our tour of the Northeast (loved the homemade jams!). Special touches, such as nightly turn down, afternoon tea, and the wonderfully scented homemade candle to enjoy during our stay and then to take with us as a remembrance of our visit, were most welcomed. Having said all this, what really makes the Croff House so special are the owners-innkeepers themselves. Duncan and Russ are quite simply the best hosts you can imagine. They go out of their way to assist with dinner and sightseeing recommendations and anything else you might need. It is evident they have a passion for what they do, which results in an extremely warm, inviting and comfortable place to stay. We were already planning our return trip to the Croff House before we even left, and that speaks volumes about this inn, and why we consider it to be “the best of the best”.

We stayed at the Croff House while attending a wedding in the Hudson area. Our room was spacious and comfortable with two chairs and a chaise. We had a huge closet for stowing all our gear -- no tripping over suitcases. The spa shower, king size bed and soaking tub added to the sense of luxurious ease. The Croff House porch, parlor and sitting room gave us plenty of room to relax and enjoy the company of our firends and family who were also staying in the area. Russ and Duncan met our every need and helped make the weekend picture perfect. From turndown service to breakfast to offering directions and making dinner reservations, Russ and Duncan graciously assisted us and made us feel at ease. Although I more often stay in hotels than B & B's, The Croff House was the best B & B experience I've ever had. From the warm welcome to the superb breakfasts, the lilac scented back porch, inviting common areas, and comfy room (Edmonds), everything was very enjoyable. The house is on a quiet street, in a neighborhood with other eye catching Victorian houses. Just a short walk from Hudson's Town Square and interesting Warren Street.

My girlfriend and I consider ourselves to be discriminating travelers. Before every trip, we scour tripadvisor and similar sites scrutinizing reviews in pursuit of a perfect getaway. Many times, we've arrived at a 5-star establishment only to be disappointed (how easily some people are pleased...?!?) We arrived at The Croff House for a one-night stay with our customary skepticism, and in a nutshell...we were blown away. The house is beautiful all around, from top to bottom. And where does it start and end? With Russ, who, quite plainly, seems to have been born for this role. The house is lovely, very well furnished and clean. The rooms are all refreshingly modern, with beautiful updated bathrooms, sleek furniture, and all the amenities (and then some) that one would expect from a 5-star chain hotel. And yet, all of it comes with the personalized doting of Russ, who genuinely seems to love what he does and infuses that passion into everything from the moment you arrive. Afternoon tea, restaurant recommendations, a delicious three-course breakfast (served, to your table, by the host himself), and a personalized goodbye at your car. If you're looking for a weekend getaway within easy driving distance from Manhattan or elsewhere, this is -- plain and simple -- the place to go. We will be back; that's for sure. And we can't wait for Russ's cookbook, to boot!

We just returned from a three night stay at Croff House. While we travel a great deal we are often reminded of the word travel's relationship to travail. Wonderfully, this was absolutely not the case with The Croff House. This was our first visit to Hudson. From the moment we arrived Russ, one of the two innkeepers, was there with his smile and good humour as well as to ensure we were well taken care of. We stayed in the Chace Suite and it was, to risk a cliché, heavenly. The suite was roomy, the bed was very comfortable, the gas fireplace added warmth and a wonderfully comforting sound. The light was excellent from three windows on two sides of the room. Then there was the bathroom. Although this is a beautifully restored Second Empire home the bathroom boasts a luxurious top of the line clawfoot tub, large glassed in spa shower and beautiful sink along with thick, soft towels. A wonderful way to start or end each day. Finally, there was the service. Each morning Russ and Duncan served three course breakfasts that were gourmet quality, delicious and inventive. Each evening there would be tea and cookies from 4-5. And whenever we had a question they were available and happy to help. There is a telling difference between professionalism and true passion. Both Russ and Duncan fall into the latter category. We are looking forward to having the opportunity to return.

More like a small European hotel than a bed and breakfast, which, for us, is a huge positive. The public rooms are charming and cosy without being confining, good for reading the paper in the morning or a wee dram at night. Our room on the ground floor was cheerful and scrupulously clean. Breakfast was excellent, lemon muffin with a sugar crust, yogurt and strawberries with balsamic vinegar and an omelette. The innkeeper Russ is a lovely guy. We would (and will) return.

The Croff House is a beautiful home that has been restored with beautiful details. Duncan and Bill have created a warm, clean and inviting home. Had a wonderful weekend at the Croff House. Duncan and Russ were both extremely friendly, gracious and helpful during our stay. Our room (The Chace Suite) was lovely and quiet. Tastefully decorated with small, thoughtful touches (bath salts for the tub, a card letting us know the weather forecast for the following day, a candle to take home to remember our stay). The TV in the room was a bit small, but I suppose that's not why you are heading to a bed and breakfast in the first place! Although the house was fully booked, we did not feel crowded or disturbed by the presence of the other guests. The common areas on the main floor were warm and comfortable with plenty of spots to relax and curl up with a good book. Would love to return to the Croff House in the future. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an easy weekend getaway from New York City.

My husband & I went up to Hudson for a romantic birthday weekend getaway. We wanted to take a tour of Olana and check out the town of Hudson. We booked the Chace Suite at the Croff House Bed & Breakfast. The room was gorgeous and very well appointed from the comfortable bed to the most amazing spa shower to the flat-screen Apple TV. My husband couldn’t get over the fact that there was Apple TV in our room. Every morning our hosts Duncan and Russ served a delicious 3 course breakfast. We also loved the very comfortable sitting rooms on the main floor which we used in the mornings to read a magazine with a cup of coffee. The Croff House is walking distance to Warren Street, Hudson’s main street, and all of it’s shops and restaurants. The Croff House is one of the nicest B&B’s we have ever stayed in and we plan to go back again.

We stayed at the fabulous 18th Century "Croff House" in Hudson for 1 night (unfortunately). The B&B is fabulously furnished and decorated stylishly to a high standard with special attention to every detail. The bedroom we stayed in was the "Peck" which is spacious, beautifully decorated and includes very comfortable, elegant queen size wood bed. From the moment we went in we felt at home. Charming Russ, the owner, greet us very warmly as if he was waiting only for us and showed us around suggesting his assistance for may ever we might need. Right afterwards, before we even asked he advised us on where to eat, what to do and where to go in the area. We felt like as if we are visiting good friend that gave us the great feeling of being at home away from home! Breakfast was delicious accompanied by good friendly conversation. We have incredibly enjoyed staying at the Croff House and were sorry to leave wishing we would have been able to spend few more days there. We highly recommend staying at the Croff House when ever you plan to visit Hudson Valley. This is the perfect place for a romantic or a quiet leisurely getaway. Don't even think twice!

This is a real jewel! The innkeepers have spared no amount of effort to make staying here a special treat. We had a fantastic weekend at The Croff House where Russell and Duncan, the owners, take care of every detail with an easy-going manner. I really liked that the interior decorating is not the typical cutesy B&B style. There's no floral print wallpaper or back issues of Knitting magazine. The bathroom and big soaking tub was amazing. Same goes for the comfy beds and outstanding sheets. Because Russ and Duncan live next door in another house, you don't feel like you have to tiptoe through someone else's house. But they're always at the ready with a great restaurant recommendation or a route for local wine tasting. I highly recommend Croff House for a one-night getaway, or a base for adventures in the Hudson Valley.

My wife and I stayed at the Croff House in Hudson, NY for two nights in mid-May 2010 with two other couples. We were celebrating 20 years of marriage and the proprietors, Duncan and Russ, made our stay enjoyable and memorable and were always attentive to our needs. They made us each feel special! The guest rooms are very comfortable and the service is first rate. We enjoyed the Victorian charm, comfortable beds, modern baths and gourmet breakfasts. Russ served a rich French toast with his homemade preserves and poached eggs with a mild basil pesto. The home's porches and elegant garden are wonderful places to sit, relax and sip champagne. This is a very special experience and the best B&B we have visited. We eagerly look forward to our next visit.

Duncan and Russ, the warm and gracious inn owners, made our 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration (3 couples all married in 1990) memorable, enjoyable and relaxing. From our initial contact to our parting good-byes Russ and Duncan were helpful, respectful and kind. We immediately felt "at home" in their lovely Victorian inn. Our rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The breakfasts delicious. Their attention to detail was evidenced throughout our stay and with parting gifts of a handcrafted candle (with matches), "stamped" postcards and inn notepad. The inn is within walking distance of Hudson's delightful main street area with wonderful shops and restaurants. The Hudson Valley also offers many historical sites - we especially enjoyed Eleanor Roosevelt's home and the FDR library. Duncan and Russ know how to treat their guests by just being who they are - delightful and kindhearted people. Thank you we hope to see you again, SOON!

The beautifully restored Croff House was the ideal spot for a relaxing two-day vacation. Russ and Duncan are the ideal hosts; they've anticipated your every comfort, and they offer generous and gentle hospitality during your stay. Breakfast is a lavish multi-course event served in the light-filled dining room; afternoon fika is a treat with tea, coffee, and cookies, offered in the beautiful and inviting common rooms of the house. Our room (the Chace suite) was incredibly lovely, the bed large and comfortable, and the chairs cozy and inviting, perfect for reading and daydreaming and enjoying the fireplace. It's also an ideal room for early risers that enjoy watching the sky brighten, as I do, with a mug of hot coffee and a book. The bathroom, however, defies adjectives. There was a soaking tub nearly as long as I am tall. There is a glass-enclosed multi-jet spa shower, crowned with stained glass panels. There are robes and piles of towels, white and plush. It is stocked with luxurious toiletries. I have, since my too-brief stay at the Croff House, dreamed about airy, light-filled bathrooms.

My husband and I went for a weekend away and this was our first B&B experience, but i have a feeling it far surpasses other B&B's. Great location in terms of distance from NYC/ Westchester, and the house itself is a great location in Hudson, as it is walking distance to everything. Russ and Duncan were wonderful hosts, and all of the details they put into making the stay great are lovely. The house itself is stunning, breakfast is a delicious 3 course meal, and the atmosphere is very cozy and inviting. We ate at Daba, Mexican Radio, and CaMea during the weekend and all of our meals were excellent. Looking forward to visiting again in warmer weather!!

My boyfriend and I spent a milestone birthday at the Croff House, and we were very happy to be there! The breakfast was delicious, and the house is so spacious, you rarely see the other guests. It's a perfect place to stay if you want a good nights' sleep in a luxurious bed and a really stimulating shower or bath! (There are multiple shower heads--fun!) A meal at Daba was amazing, we highly recommend that. And a visit to the local stores where you'll see the best furniture around, albeit pricey. Go, and enjoy!! Russ and Duncan will be ever gracious.

My husband and I stayed at Croff House for a relaxing getaway weekend. This was our first B&B experience and I think we are now spoiled! It was amazing! The Croff House is quaint yet modern with incredible hosts that add to the whole experience. Russ and Duncan have thought of every detail! We loved our room (Esylyn). The bathroom was immaculately clean with a soaking tub and a great shower. Our room had a gas fireplace and a lovely sete by the bay window. It was nice having some modern amenities (wifi, Direct TV, apple TV from which you can rent movies, IPOD connection in the room, spa type shower) at a B&B. Russ and Duncan were wonderful hosts. They picked us up and dropped us off at the train station! They suggested some wonderful dinner choices. The breakfast was amazing!! The afternoon tea was left for us to enjoy at our leisure with wonderfully delicious fresh baked cookies! We can't wait to return!

The Croff House is a hidden gem in Hudson, NY. My partner and I wanted to get away from Manhattan for the weekend which happened to coincide with the town's annual Winter Walk. We were utterly delighted to be welcomed in total charm and elegance. The owners Russ and Duncan have created a special atmosphere - a home away from home with the refinements and attention to detail found in five star hotels - yet so down to earth and incredibly comfortable. Their magical linens, top notch bathrooms, delicious breakfasts, two cozy fireplaces (which were so appreciated on this snowy weekend)...there so many superlatives. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac and only 5 minutes from the main street of Hudson, the house provided the perfect place to return to after a full day outdoors. Tea, cider, cakes/cookies greeted us. We were told to make ourselves at home...which we delightfully accepted by spending hours mesmerized in front of the fireplace, reading, relaxing. A salute to Russ and Duncan who were so gracious and made us feel as if we were the only guests there. We could not have asked for anything more perfect. We loved every aspect of our recent stay at this 1875 restored home in Hudson, NY. Our hosts Ross and Duncan were attentive to every aspect of our stay and their gourmet breakfasts were simply to die for. My husband and I picked this B&B randomly off a list distributed by a bride and groom in preparation for their wedding weeked. I wouldn't normally be in Hudson, New York (we live in the midwest) but now I would gladly travel back there any time for another opportunity to stay in this wonderful Inn. Newly and brilliantly renovated, Croff offers all the ammenities of a modern large hotel, complete with flat screen TV, wireless internet, ipod docking stations and a very considerately stocked private bathroom in every room. The hosts are appropriately solicitous without imposing in any way, and easily respond to unusual requests with grace and good humor. (We asked for beach towels to avoid staining their brand new white fluffy towels in the sand, and poof!... they appeared immediately.) All aspects of the room and house provided all the privacy I could ever ask for, while making me feel very much at home. But none of this wonderfulness compares to the miracle known as the Croff Breakfast. I would wax poetic about the four course masterpieces served at the civilized hour of 9:00, but I think all I will say is "candied bacon" and let that speak for itself. Phenominal in every way. Think no further and definitely go out of your way to stay at Croff.
