The French Room Suite could not be any more romantic, The separate sitting room, large ensuite private bathroom with Jacuzzi, wi-fi, i-Pod docking station, flatscreen TV/DVD player make it a favorite getaway.
The Chickering Grand Piano is a rare antique, and still plays well. Celebrated Mezzo Soprano, Anne Sophie Von Otter enjoyed a song on this during her stay with us.
The fish pond is in the side yard, and is a quiet place, great for meditating, reading, and taking a catnap.

We were welcome with warmth. After checking in a snack of chocolate covered strawberries was waiting for us. Our room was private and comfortable. We will be back and highly recommend to others!

My mother recently passed away on Shelter Island, so this was our first experience at finding accomodations as opposed to staying in the family home. The Stirling House was the next best thing. The room was great; the view of the harbor, with Shelter Island beyond, was wonderful; Clay, our host, was very pleasant and accomodating. We met really nice people at breakfast, also! If we have occasion to return to the area, we will definitely consider another stay at this lovely house.

The view is an amazing waterview of Greenport Harbor. It's wonderful here because you can walk into town and not worry about driving after a few glasses of wine at dinner. The host is an engaging, funny and knowledgable man, and his skills as a chef are outstanding! Such a pleasant surprise not to be in a cookie cutter room, but so well thought out and executed with precision.
