This was a very good experience. This home is lovingly cared for and the rolling green lawn is pretty amazing. I had coffee on the front porch overlooking the garden each morning before a delicious breakfast was served in the dining room. The hosts take very good care of you. I can't wait to be able to go back.

Lorry and her husband were wonderful hosts for my girlfriend and I. We came in from Manhattan searching for a quiet and relaxing get away and that's exactly what we got. Their house is absolutely beautiful and sits on a pristine piece of land, well-lit as you approach, and the gravel driveway reminiscent of an older long island but still very modern. Inside, the house is sublimely decorated with a classical piano selection playing in the background. The Rooms are upstairs, equipped with a fire place (turned on with the flick of a switch), a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a firm queen sized bed. Our room was charmingly decorated with rusted treasure chest keys hanging from the wall and a 1920's Country Wall Phone with a crank handle that actually turns. The rooms are as warm and inviting as they are comfortable and tranquil. The Blue Iris is truly an enchanting get away for anyone seeking to escape the stress and chaos of everyday life. Our host, Lorry, was absolutely delightful and as helpful as could be. As soon as we made our reservation with her, she recommended dinner/spa reservations (A Lure had the best peppercorn Tuna and the Blue Sage Spa had a very relaxing couples massage), and confirmed our reservation for us at A Lure when we arrived (as well as handing us a discount card to a majority of the wineries, restaurants, and spas in the area). Lorry was there for our every need and wasn't even phased when we accidentally broke her wine glasses (which she didn't charge us for)! Breakfast started with fruit cups, coffee, tea, corn bread, and finished with a egg bacon and vegetable souffle which was to die for.

For a relaxing, comfortable stay at the prettiest, coziest, cleanest Bed and Breakfast, you must visit the Blue Iris. Inside and out, you will be treated with perfection. Breakfast was "icing on the cake". Delicious and Jerry and Lorry make you feel so special. A must for anyone who wants to be treated like a King and Queen while visiting the beautiful Cutchogue wineries!

Everything about the Blue Iris is perfect! The house and gardens, the wrap around porch (for reading or dozing) and the comfortable rooms are all exceptional. Everything is close by: the wineries, the beach and Greenport for shopping. Lorry and Jerry make you feel at home right away. The breakfasts are amazing with Lorry doing the cooking, from egg dishes made with eggs from their own chickens to Grand Marnier French toast and Banana Chip loaf. Yum!! And while you're enjoying breakfast, Jerry may sit down at the piano and expertly play a beautiful song for you to enjoy while you get to know the other guests. I can't wait to go back again! Flora

Wife and I stayed the weekend, perfect is the word that comes to mind. Close proximity to wineries, can easily walk to several but we brought bikes, which was great as there is a nearby beach and plenty to do within a mile or two in every direction, which is why we chose this place initially. Can't speak highly enough about the hospitality here... Lorry and Jerry are sweet people and really made us feel at home. Not your average breakfast either, was a 5 star meal every day.... and our standards are pretty high. Once you hang out on their perfectly manicured, gigantic property, and witness everything else I'm mentioning here - you'll appreciate why it costs what it does. You get what you pay for, and this is something we'll definitely do again. A+

This was our first time staying at the Blue Iris - and we can't say enough good things about our experience. It's extraordinary from driving up the driveway through check out. Lorry and Jerry are lovely; the food and rooms were divine.

This was our second stay at the Blue Iris. It is a lovely Bed and Breakfast, on beautiful grounds. Lori and Jerry could not be more accommodating and helpful and friendly. The rooms are terrific, with a complimentary bottle of wine. The breakfast is WONDERFUL!! This is where I stay when I got to the North Fork of Long Island. It is a little pricy, but that's the way it is on LI.

One can only come away from a stay at the Blue Iris feeling totally and completely pampered. My wife Catherine and I had the pleasure of staying there this past weekend and there are probably not enough adjectives to describe all of the things you experieince at the Blue Iris. The Grounds are Meticulous and Beautiful. The Main House is not only immaculate but so warm and welcoming. Lori and Jerry did everything to make our stay a most memeorablel one from the moment we got there to the point of departure. Breakfast was Excellent, The People we met most genunie and sincere. The Blue Iris as far as we are concerned is the only Bed and Breakfast you need know about when staying on the North Fork. Thank you Jerry and Lori for a most memorable and enjoyable experience. I had booked the Blue Iris for a weekend getaway for my husbands birthday. I was truly impressed with the inn and its impeccable grounds. There was a special attention given to all detail for all guests from a welcome board with our names to a hand written and signed champagne bottle from the Blue Iris Inn. They had the best fresh yogurt and fruit I have ever tasted and fresh baked crumb coffee cake to add to our delicious breakfast(s). The Inn is nicely located in a secluded area not too far away from the LI wineries and the beaches and offers such a serene setting. Jerry and Lorry were wonderful hosts and their inn is totally clean and just gorgeous!!. We will definitely be staying at the Blue Iris again and would highly recommend this inn to anyone visiting North Fork.

Excellent service! Lorry helped us plan dinner reservations, picked us up at the train station, made us a cheese plate, cooked us amazing breakfasts every morning and was just all around wonderful to be around. Their home is in perfect condition and has the most amazing grounds. We enjoyed fires in the fire pit each night and spent mornings relaxing on their giant porch. The house is just a short bike ride from the beach and lots of wineries. We can't wait to go back!

My husband and I just got back from two days at the Blue Iris. It was absolutely amazing!. The grounds and furnishings were impeccable. You feel like you have stepped back in time but with all the modern amenities. Breakfast was delicious! Bring your appetite. Lorry and Jerry make you feel like you are part of the family. The bed and breakfast in in the heart of all the wineries. It is the perfect location to enjoy. We can't wait to visit again.

We stayed at the Blue Iris in November, 2010. It was a perfect two days. The hosts, Lorry and Jerry could not have been nicer. Their breakfast was outstanding. They shared information about the local wineries and recommended some nice restaurants to dine at. We will definetly recommend this to our grown children and friends. When we come back to the North Fork will will stay here for sure!

My sister and I were planning a little getaway but the inn we were trying to book was full. My sister stumbled upon this wonderful inn and we both fell in love. The website does not do justice to this property. It far exceeds the photos shown. It was the most beautiful B&B I have ever stayed in. The grounds are huge and gorgeous. They have such beautiful touches to the home and garden. The firepit was awesome. We had such a nice eveing sitting around the fire with the other guests until the wee hours of the morning! Jerry and Lorry were amazing hosts. We felt completely at home. The inn was spotless, food was incredible (3 course breakfast to die for), beds so comfortable! The location is great, just a block off Main Road where all the vineyards are but tucked away so it was so peaceful and quiet. Lorry was so accomodating and made our dinner reservations for both evenings. She even had a table reserved for us at Peconic Bay to enjoy the live music Friday evening before our dinner. I highly recommend taking advantage of the massage service onsite. Our massages were wonderful. All in all, this was truly one of the most perfect weekends of my life. If you are visiting wine country, you must stay here. You will not be disappointed!

My sister and I just returned from a weekend at the Blue Iris inn. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. The Inn is absolutely gorgeous. The hosts Lorry and Jerry were so thoughtful. They provided so many thoughtful touches like a hand painted bottle of wine in the room. They even had left the ingredients to make s'mores for the guests to enjoy by the fire pit at night. The breakfast was a wonderful 3 course feast. A delicious way to fortify ourselves for a day of wine tasting. I would also recommend using thier spa room for a massage. It is located right next to the guest rooms so you don't have to leave the premises and their massuese was great. I can't wait to return.

My boyfriend and I spent July 4th weekend at Blue Iris. We were looking for a relaxing weekend getaway...and that is exactly what we got. Before we even arrived, Lorry booked dinner reservations, a massage, and offered any assistance she could provide. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a lovely bottle of wine and a cheese plate. The grounds are not to be believed! There are so many different types of flowers, several bird feeders, a vegetable garden, and a chicken coop! The property is right out of a postcard. The Inn itself it beautiful, and the rooms are very comfortable. Everything that decorates the Inn has meaning to Lorry and Jerry, and they are always willing to tell you the stories behind the decor. Lastly, the breakfasts (we stayed for three nights) were of the finest quality; everything was delicious and fresh. We especially loved the eggs from the chickens out back! The Inn is also centrally located to all the local wineries, farmer's markets, beaches, and other towns. We will recommend Blue Iris to everyone and we will definitely return!

My husband Joe surpised me by taking me to the Blue Iris on our 20th Anniversary 2 years ago. We said then that we would come back every year. Well last year we brought 2 couples with us and we had a blast. We had a wine party right in there diningroom. This house is so beautiful and clean you need to see it to believe it. Each room has its own theme. Even the hosts Lorry and Jerry are the most warmest people you would want to be around. They make there home feel like your home. We are going back again and we are bringing another couple with us. A total of 4 couples. We are now filling up this house quickly. Whats great is that the winery's are right there as you travel down the block. Plenty of places to eat and even if you just want to hand around you feel so comfy there. Of course one of the best parts is the breakfast. It is sooooo good. So if you are looking for a B&B you need to check you and your friends into the Blue Iris. I'm looking to spend alot of more Annversaries there. Donna
