1805 Phinney House

I had a late check in so notified the inn keeper aproximate time I was arriving. He was thankful for that. I was alone so was a little nervous expecially since I arrived in the later evening. The inn keeper was very friendly and informative about cooperstown, I felt at ease as soon as I met him and his family. Everything was very clean. Breakfast the next day was delicious, I would go back again.

I have stayed 3 times now with Jim and Charlene at 1805 Phinney House. This Inn is part of the original Phinney farm, where the historic Doubleday Field is now located. (I play ball there with the Baltimore Orioles baseball camp) My room has a view of the field, which is important to me as a baseball nut. The room is quite comfortable and the Inn is nice. Jim and Charlene are avid Red Sox fans, super friendly, so feel comfortable lounging around in the living room or chatting at breakfast (a good breakfast indeed) about the National Pastime. Also, you don't have to love just baseball; I've met folks from all over the country who also stay at this Inn to go to the Opera House and other points of interest. Everything is walking distance as the Hall of Fame and Main Street are just a long fly ball away. My testament and recommendation is only the best, as I said earlier, I've stayed each and every time with Jim and Charlene at 1805 Phinney House!!!

Jim and Charlene are wonderful hosts. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxed and the breakfasts are outstanding. It is within walking distance of almost everything to do in Cooperstown. We have stayed there each of the last 5 years and always look forward to our next visit.

Charlene and Jim are great and friendly people that always make you feel welcome. We have stayed for several years during induction week and have never been disappointed. Great family, delicious breakfasts, beautiful clean rooms, friendly atmosphere and a close walk to downtown (no worries about finding parking). You can't go wrong staying at the 1805 Phinney House!! Try it, you'll like it!!

The 1805 Phinney House is the best BnB in Cooperstown. You are very close to the Baseball Hall of Fame as well as downtown shops. Above the fact that you are in walking distance to everything in town the house is a warm and friendly place to stay. It truly is home away from home when I stay with Jim and Charlene. They make you feel right at home with their family. Charlene's breakfast is worth the stay alone. I have stayed at this BnB for four years now and I would place it above the rest as far as clean, warm feel, great breakfast and all around enjoyable stay. The 1805 Phinney House innkeepers, Jim & Charlene, welcome you into their home and family. My wife and I have been staying at the 1805 Phinney House for a week every August for the past five years. The day always starts with Charlene's perfectly prepared homemade breakfast served by Jim in the comfortable dining room. Each bedroom has a private bath and most of the bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed. Our favorite gathering spot is the back porch where a good conversation can always be found. The 1805 Phinney House is ideally located; walking distance to everything that Cooperstown has to offer. This is especially important during peak season because public parking can be scarce. At day's end, relaxing back at the Phinney House with other guests and your hosts brings a delightful conclusion to your daily experience. P. S. Don't forget to try Charlene's freshly baked cookies!

My husband and I have been staying at the 1805 Phinney House during Hall of Fame weekend for the past three years (and plan to do so for years to come). While I’m not the biggest baseball fan (my husband sure is), I’ve thoroughly enjoyed every visit to Cooperstown, due to the hospitality, comfort, and kindness found at 1805 Phinney House. In addition to the owners’ thoughtfulness and attention to detail, the breakfasts served each morning are exceptional. I highly recommend the 1805 Phinney House for your stay in Cooperstown. I am convinced you will not find a more pleasant and relaxing B&B in Cooperstown (or in any town for that matter).

I had a very nice stay at the 1805 Phinney House. Close to Doubleday Field and the Hall of Fame. The owners were very nice and had a clean, cozy and pleasant place. I would go back again.

After many years of wanting to visit the MLB Hall of Fame I finally made it spring of 2009! Staying at the Phinney House was an unexpected highlight of the trip. Charlene and Jim provided an excellent home made breakfast each morning (be sure to let them know any special dietary needs they really go that extra mile). Jim gave some fascinating historical information on the Phinney House itself and Cooperstown along with great tips on how to get the most out of our trip. They were like staying with family. No question, I will make sure they have room availability before planning my next trip to Cooperstown.

Not only were the hosts super friendly and knowledgeable of the area, the place was immaculate! The service, superb and the breakfasts delectable. We knew immediately that we had found a good thing when we found the 1805 Phinney House and our stay only confirmed it! If there's rooms available, you need to look no further. The property borders Double Day Field (rooms with a view too) and is just a quick walk to the Hall of Fame and the rest of Main Street. Every need was quickly attended to with an apparent "pleasure to serve" attitude. We really couldn't have asked for better accommodations if we stayed with our own family. They even sent us off with a loaf of home-made banana bread! Just one suggestion to my fellow travelers. Call them personally for their rates and specials. We got the baseball package and it was an exceptional value. Looking forward to staying here again so that I can make the most of my membership.
