Beautiful, cozy house with lots of books and unusual odds and ends, some of them for sale; also very pretty & funky items in the gift shop. Great service, amazing breakfasts, definitely enough for a major hike each day! No TVs (fine with me!), but free Wifi was handy. And very convenient to shopping and restaurants in Cold Spring.

Our stay was wonderful in this adorable b&b in this quaint little town. We had a romantic weekend. The restaurants in the are mediocre at the very best. The inn was lovely and the breakfast the next day delicious! We would definitely go back.

Pig Hill Inn was recommended to me by someone with discriminating taste, so the bar was set high. Thankfully I wasn't disappointed by anything except the breakfast. The room was spacious and lovely, it was a very nice, comfy and clean inn and the location was absolutely perfect to getting around town. Breakfast was not satisfactory, unfortunately. The portions were a bit meager to be honest (and we aren't a couple who overeats) and it was a bit on the flavorless side. It was also cooked way too quickly to be fresh. That being said, it was fine - I just had much higher expectations. It would absolutely not deter us from staying here again and again. We had a great weekend there!

I booked the Victorian Room for my fiance's birthday and we were very pleased. The inn keeper suggested a very nice restaurant for us around the corner and we returned to champagne in the room. Very cozy place with an excellent breakfast, also in bed, next to a wood fired stove. We only wished checkout was later than 11am.

Our stay at The Pig Hill Inn was wonderful. We stayed in the Enchantment room and it was lovely. The jacuzzi tub was especially nice!!! And the woodburning stove was wonderful. We will stay here again if we stay overnight in Cold Spring again! Great service all the way around and a delicious breakfast to boot!

We recently spent 2 delightful nights at the lovely Pig Hill Inn. It is our favorite getaway from NYC. Very convenient to get to by train. Cold Spring is a very nice little town. Vera is very warm, friendly and gracious --with a great sense of humor. The accommodations are wonderul and thr breakfasts are delicious. There is always a baked dessert waiting for you when you return to the inn in the late afternoon. Have been to the Pig Hill several times and can't wait to go back.

Extremely comfortable and welcoming -- really an inn, so you don't feel like you're intruding on anyone. It's an old house, so a lot of sound carries from room to room, but if everyone is respectful, it's fine. The breakfast was absolutely delicious -- omelettes made to order, bacon, sausage, fresh muffins, fresh pancakes, the works! To watch a sporting event in the evening, we had to go downstairs to find a TV, but that was fine.

Staying at the Pig Hill Inn was a pleasure. We stayed in the "Victorian Elegance" room and everything was top notch. I can't recommend it enough!

We spent two nights at Pig Hill Inn in winter 2012. Breakfast was perfect - delivered to the room - even for my gf who is allergic to gluten. Perfectly located on Main Street. Solid WiFi, lobby fire place, big bath tubs and very friendly staff.

Recently stayed here with my girlfriend. We had an amazing time. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was very good. The town of Cold Spring was pretty fun too.

The Pig Hill Inn is an easy train ride from NYC and a very short walk from the Cold Spring train station. It was great not to need a car. We loved the rooms, food and service. Right in the middle of town so easy to shop and go out for a meal but still quiet and relaxing. We will definitely return!

Visited for my girlfriends' birthday. What a wonderful little town and inn. Dave was so incredibly helpful. We didn't arrive until almost 9 pm on a thursday, after most of the town was closed up. He offered to call the local restaurants for us so that we would still be able to find dinner. Can't wait to go back!

My girlfriend and I recently stayed here for a weekend; we don't drive, so we needed a place that was close to the Metro North. The Pig Hill Inn is about 200 ft from the station, which is convenient. The moment we walked in, we were in a different world. The staff was courteous, funny, and extraordinarily accommodating. The room was fantastic; the bed was beautiful and very comfortable, and we had our own wood-burning stove which they'd pre-stocked with logs. Cold Spring is a VERY small town but offers some great restaurants, and the Pig Hill Inn was a fantastic spot to come home to. We will DEFINITELY be staying there again; the breakfast alone was worth the price!!

Great location for exploring the area and walking along the river. Beautiful room with private fireplace (as well as an additional fireplace in the lounge). Lovely breakfast. This is a fantastic B&B.

We had a great time at this little B&B in the heart of Cold Spring. The owner and staff were lovely, and the room was amazing.

Basically everything was lovely and the breakfasts were spectacular. Our only complaint was that there seemed to be a lot of people milling about who weren't staying in the Inn which made for a less than relaxing environment.

Conveniently located in downtown, steps from the station. Comfortable rooms. Design is homey, if a little mixed up. Service is attentive, including an extensive breakfast that includes hot muffins. Features a wine bar in the living room!

We've stayed twice at the Pig Hill Inn since October and plan to return on a regular basis. We found the rooms to be cozy and romantic, and food delicious and the innkeepers warm and courteous. No phones or tv in the rooms, which makes it a great place to relax, unwind, and reconnect with a loved one.

Our schedule and the Inn availability aligned this year and we finally got a chance to stay there and enjoy a wonderful weekend in early November. Dave and Vera were very helpful in helping us pick a room, even accommodating a schedule change. The Victorian Elegance room was perfect; a Franklin Stove in the room and a clawfoot tub in the bathroom provided romantic amenities. The breakfasts were five star with fresh local ingredients. Fresh baked goods were available in the afternoon for snacks. All this and a convenient train ride from New York made it easy to leave the car at home. We will be back for sure.

Our first night there was no power and they were kind enough to upgrade us to a room with a fire place. The beds were quite uncomfortable and we woke up with back pains. Breakfast was yummy but, as a coffee drinker we found the coffee to be quite bland. Other than that the inn was absolutely charming, very clean, and the staff very helpful and friendly. I would definitely return and pick another room for fun! :-)

I came here for two nights when the contractor took my entry, stairs and bathroom out of commission. I also stayed here years ago when I was living in New York City. What a treat! The bed was perfect - and I have trouble with beds as a rule; the tub was so deep I took two baths; and I lit a fire in the wood-burning stove both nights. I knew from previous stays that the breakfasts are the best in Cold Spring, but I had to leave at 6:00 a.m. for work. So the Inn left a wrapped, homemade muffin on top of the coffee maker, and butter, jam, and a fruit bowl in the tiny fridge nearby. All I had to do was push the button to start the coffee and eat. (The coffee maker's heat warmed the muffin, by the way!) A nurturing place in a charming village. Highly recommended.

The service is warm and welcoming. The rooms are perfectly cozy with wood-burning stoves, comfortable beds. The breakfasts are hands-down the best we've ever had in a B&B. The generous servings, plus the complimentary afternoon homemade pie or cake, makes the nightly rates all worth it (especially if you book a room that features an en-suite soaking tub). There are no phone, TVs or computers. This is where you go to disconnect, slow down and rejuvenate.

The place was very charming, and we would definately make a return visit. Jim was very nice and made a wonderful breakfast,that we all enjoyed. The room was very comfortable.

Booked this room based on other reviewers comments. The place did not disappoint. Atmosphere, people, food, location -- all just what the doctor ordered for this work-weary couple. Loved Cold Spring itself and the views on the Hudson. Only wish there was some kind of boat ride that was offered right there. It would have been a great thing to do on an autumn day in NY.

A beautiful fall weekend on the Hudson River with beautiful views suddenly turned into a raging blizzard in the NE. Electricity was out for 18 hours, but we were still cozy and well taken care of. Candlelight, fireplaces...need I say more. Each day of our 4 day stay was started with a wonderful breakfast. The omelets were "to die for". I could never talk my husband in to staying at a Bed and Breakfast before but now he is asking me when/where we can go to our next one. The decor fits the home so well. The gift shop is stocked with quality items at an affordable price. Cold Springs, NY, is a destination weekend that I would recommend and Pig Hill Inn projects the heart and spirit of the community. We could not have left feeling any better about our stay. I felt like I had known the owners for a long time and have made new friends.

My boyfriend wanted to escape from New York City so I surprised him with a trip to the Pig Hill Inn. We loved the Inn & will be back soon! Wonderful place, very friendly.

Just as you would hope. Perfectly situated in the middle of the Main Street near all. Breakfast was beyond deliciouse and abundant. Absolutely lovely.

We enjoyed the fireplace very much on a chilly evening with a cup of hot chocolate and some lovely fresh-baked apple pie. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable and the food (especially the pastries) was fantastic!

The inn was warm and cozy and the gracious innkeeper carried my heavy bag up to the top floor and was also very helpful with local sightseeing. A beautiful property.

My sister and I stayed in the room on the first floor facing Main St. with 2 beds and had no problem with noise. The shower had a drip so we put a towel there and didn't hear the drip. Breakfasts were outstanding served in a cozy added room on the first floor......and the Innkeeper prepared muffins that were great. Also a nice touch was hot water available always for tea, hot chocolate, etc. AND in the late afternoon an apple pie was there one day and rugala the next.

Even though the Inn is not really handicapped accessible, we were able to make it work for my husband who is in a wheelchair. The owner and staff were exceedingly gracious and did everything in their power to make our stay pleasant and memorable.

The Pig Hill Inn is, indeed, full of pigs (inanimate ones, that is). The house is nicely furnished with antiques. The breakfast was delicious with fresh fruit cup, home-baked coffee cake, juice, and a choice of an omelet or waffles. Dave, the owner, didn't seem like the typical owner of a place filled with antiques, and he was a little uneasy with small talk, but he does all his own cooking and it is good.

Incredible. Really love this place--took the boyfriend here this past weekend for his birthday. We stayed in the Tranquility Room, and it was beautiful! The place is charming and warm, small in that cozy kind of way (but not cramped). We were greeted by Dave, who proceeded to give us a tour, immediately offered us apple pie and tea (which we devoured in the lovely greenhouse dining area), then took us up to our room. And what a room! The four poster bed with the swaths of gauzy cloth, the chilled bottle of bubbly, the wood burning stove, the huge bathroom with the 2-person Jacuzzi...amazing. The room (and all the other rooms...we peeked around during the weekend) is much bigger than we expected, and the other rooms were so prettily done, each appointed with its own charming character. The best part for us was breakfast. Pig Hill gives its guests an option of having breakfast either in the greenhouse room or having it brought to them at the time they request (we did this both mornings...it was sooo indulgent and lovely). The food came fresh, hot, and delicious--we didn't want to get out of bed after eating! Our second day, we were late coming out of our room and missed having our room cleaned. Vera very sweetly waved off our apologies and let us wander off in town. We came back to a perfectly turned down room and a hot blueberry pie on the counter. Felt so spoiled! The town is quiet, quaint, and full of antique and craft shops and art galleries. There are a couple of good restaurants here, but the main point is, this B&B fulfills what its guests seek---pampering, comfort, and indulgence. We can't wait to be back!

The Pig hill in was very nice in a quaint little town of Cold Spring new York. It was a great place, although maybe a little pricey. The breakfast was truly outstanding. Being on the main street is somewhat noisy and the town picks up recycling at 3:15 am.

Nice location on Main St. Vera is welcoming and helpful. She referred us to a wonderful local restaurant, RiverView, for a delicious dinner. The inn is charming, rooms are large but bathroom was small and towels were thin. Breakfast was good and service was excellent. Didn't meet innkeeper but saw him in passing. Some cigarette odor but overall, a nice escape.

This past Columbus Day weekend, my wife and I returned to the Pig Hill Inn for our 25th. We stayed here on our first anniversary and never made it back. We are very happy to have returned. Vera, Jean, and Dave were excellent hosts, and made our anniversary special. I'm surprised Vera didn't have a cape and a big red S on her chest because she was SUPER! The baked goods were a constant temptation, breakfast was delicious, and the coffee was superb. Vera made reservations for us at the Riverside Inn and we had a wonderful dinner there. The only disappointment was Monday morning when I brought my guitar down to the lobby and played a little as I promised Vera I would before I checked out, but she wasn't in on Monday morning. Jean seemed to enjoy it, and nobody threw anything at me, so all was well. Tranquility (the room) is all about the bed and the bathroom. After 25 years, we just don't spen all day in bed anymore, so next time, and I guarantee it will not be 24 years, we're going for more room and less bathroom. I would highly recommend the Pig Hill Inn to anyone looking for a romantic getaway, or just a place to chill out and take in the beauty and scenery of the Hudson Highlands. I went to the Pig Hill Inn for Columbus day weekend. I was very pleased with the stay and the friendliness of the staff. The room was very clean and the staff were very accommodating and courteous. Their Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, I will definitely be staying at this location again. Their prices is incredibly reasonable but the friendliness and hospitality you will experience there is definitely priceless.

We spent two days in October at the Pig Hill Inn. The room we've had before was nicer than the one this time, which was quite dark. Also, a few more hints on nice hikes in the area might have been helpful. Other than that, everything was excellent, especially the service during breakfast.

Recently stayed at Pig Hill Inn with some old friends. There were six of us, and everyone was very pleased with the Inn. The facilities were much nicer and larger than the website suggested. I was especially impressed with the breakfast options--hot cooked breakfasts with freshly baked gluten-free breads for me! That was totally unexpected and deeply appreciated. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. I look forward to another stay.

One of my favorite B&B's. Easy to get to from NYC (Metro North) and Cold Spring is lovely any time of year. The innkeeper is lovely and the staff is wonderful. I would definitely recommend this.

I recently stayed at the Pig Hill Inn with my 3 children. The hospitality & service was exceptional! The complimentary breakfast exceeded my expectations. The inn was charming - rooms clean and spacious. Complimentary coffees, teas and wonderfully baked pies and cakes. Walking distance to everything as it is located on Main Street. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Looking forward to visiting again in the near future.

The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and were even willing to store our bags for us for the day after we checked out, while we hiked and explored Cold Spring. We had a fantastic stay at the Pig Hill Inn. We did not want to come home. The rooms were amazing, the owners were very friendly and we will definitely go back. The courtyard is lovely for a coffee and reading the paper, maybe even breakfast on a Sunday morning. In a perfect spot on the main street and close to everything, even the train station.

The facility is lovely. The owner is a delight, and her staff is helpful, friendly and accommodated our special requests. Apart from the lovely dining area, there is little common area to spend time in, so interaction among guests (sometimes a nice feature of B&Bs) was minimal. We stayed in the Enchantment room. It is beautifully decorated, clean, comfy bed, nice one-person Jacuzzi, etc. Particularly for the price, we thought the room was small, with the dark red walls making it feel even smaller.

I took a few days off from work and came to stay at the Pig Hill Inn during the week. It was a very clean, modern, and relaxing place to stay. The 200 year old decor was complemented with new air conditioning and other things that could be found at newly constructed inns. The service and food was also great, especially for the price. I would definitely come back here again.

I had a wonderful stay at the inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfasts were amazing. I did not expect fresh baby spinach/Brie omlet. WOW!! Would recommend the Inn and plan to return myself. Thank you.

My sister and I visited Pig Hill Inn in July - We had a very nice stay, room was clean, bright and attractive. the breakfast was excellent and the service very friendly. The only drawback was the limited parking (room only for 3 cars) and limited public area within the inn. The location was very good, close to restauants and the Hudson and many attractions. I would definitely recommend this inn.

Just an hour and a half north of New York City on the Hudson River, Cold Spring is a beautiful and quite little town with plenty of relaxation opportunities for a weekend get away. My girlfriend and I stayed at the Pig Hill Inn and had a wonderful experience there. The room, Enchantment, was perfect for us with a nice bed and beautiful bathroom. Not much of a view from our rear facing room, but that was okay with us as we wanted seclusion. I would stay here again!

My stay at the Pig Hill Inn was outstanding. I don't know what the other rooms are like but The Enchantment Room was great. Private bathroom, lovely setting and very cozy. The bathroom even had a jacuzzi. The Hostess was soooo sweet and attentive. She made the most amazing breakfast the morning after. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Again, I don't know how the other rooms are, but it was a great stay and I would definitely go back someday.

The home was beautiful, the room fantastic, and Cold Spring is a cozy little town with revisiting. My wife and I are both vegans, and while Pig Hill Inn does not intentionally cater to vegans, Dave and Vera went above and beyond - asking for specific requests in advance, purchasing special ingredients only for us, outside of their normal breakfast fare, to include vegan, gluten-free muffins. We were treated like absolute royalty!

This B&B was amazing--from the pie in the afternoon to the most outstanding breakfasts at a B&B I ever had! Fabulous service, gorgeous, clean rooms and a wonderful historic building--a great place to stay in Cold Spring NY.

We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the whole experience. The hosts were very sweet and the breakfast was very good, better than I had expected. We arrived very late the first night due to flight issues and they waited up to greet us and help us get situated. We stayed in the tranquility room and it was clean and nicely decorated and the four post bed was very comfortable. Great location, near restaurants and a short walk to the Hudson River pavilion. We enjoyed the Italian restaurant a few doors up the street, classy. We would definitely stay there again.

The Pig Hill Inn is located in quaint Cold Spring, NY. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway in the Hudson Valley. There are many dining choices, the waterfront is relaxing, the main street offers several antique shops and the train into NYC is minutes away. Breakfast was generous, relaxing and the perfect way to start the day.

I arrived at the Pig Hill Inn on a brutally hot summer afternoon. I had planned to make the 10-minute walk to the local wine store, but given the extreme heat asked PHI staff if I might find what I needed somewhere closer. I was immediately offered (and gratefully accepted) a ride to the wine store. So kind and beyond the call of duty! The food matches the hospitality, and the inn itself is absolutely charming -- what can I say, I adore creaky wooden stairs. Though my friends and I discussed spending more time in Beacon summer, we will stay in Cold Spring at the Pig Hill Inn.

Went to Cold Spring for a day trip and stayed at the Pig Hill Inn. This is a truly great place for a peaceful and restorative getaway. Pig Hill is a fantastic Bed and Breakfast with a kind staff, a great breakfast, and great "extras" like homemade pie. Our room was nice and had a nice jacuzzi and champagne. The town is nice to explore and their are beautiful scenic views really nearby as well. Pig Hill, though, made it all extra special. You will not regret staying at the Pig Hill Inn. Definitely a great place to make some fond memories.

On our second stay at Pig Hill Inn, we had the same pleasant room and efficient service in this lovely town as our first time. Owner's recommendation for dining nearby was excellent. Breakfast in the greenhouse is a special. Afternoon tea and treats are a tradition.

We enjoyed our summer weekend at the Pig Hill Inn very much: lovely room, very pleasant public spaces, good breakfast and a perfect location to enjoy the village. The tea and treat in the afternoon was excellent and very much appreciated. It was also nice to have the NY Times to read in the morning!

Had a nice short stay in a charming room, comfy and clean. Perfect place to rash after (another) great dinner at Le Bouchon. Very helpful staff, very friendly. Breakfast was delicious and graciously served. Nice little place in a great little town.

My girlfriend and I wanted a short easy getaway from Manhattan for the 4th of July weekend. The Pig Hill Inn in Cold Spring gave us exactly what we needed with comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast and a great location in the middle of town. I highly recommend for anyone in the NY metro area who wants a nice escape without needing a ton of planning.

A nice place to stay in the heart of Cold Spring. The room was a bit dark, but well furnished and clean. No coffee prep facilities in the rooms, but you have access to hot water, tea, and apple pie downstairs at all times. Very quiet. Breakfasts were terrific, served in a lovely room. Wifi in rooms can be spotty, but access is good in the sitting room.

The Pig Hill Inn is a wonderful experience. It is quiet, clean and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and the food was delicious. We payed a little extra to have a room with a private bathroom and loved it! The bed was comfortable and the room had wonderful temperature control! Cold Spring is such a fun little city. There are several antique stores nearby and bars with great food. We would stay at the Pig Hill Inn again!

We enjoyed every minut of our stay. The room was wonderfull. We felt welcome from the minut we arrived - Vera was so nice and helpfull , we felt that it was to visit a private home. Also thank you to Dave , who made us a wonderfull breakfast - although we think that he was a little disapointed that we could not eat it all - we have never had a breakfast as delicious as that. Cold Spring is a sleepy Hudson river town with a great scenic view of the river from the docks. the inn is a short walk to the river. our room was on the 3rd floor and quite nice. the bathroom is quite small however but certainly adequate. the breakfast was terrific. we'd stay here again if in the area!

The room I was in was a little small, but other than that, I had a very nice experience. Cold Spring is a charming town and I will stay at the Pig Hill Inn again the next time I visit. The breakfast was by far the best part of my stay, it was perfect.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Pig Hill Inn! Our room was charming: it had lovely old antique furniture, and the bed was very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom even had an enormous jacuzzi tub, which was a very big hit! The food was great, and the proprietors, Vera and Dave, couldn't have been kinder or more helpful. They were very careful to accommodate my food allergies, made dinner reservations for us at a lovely French bistro across the street, sent champagne to our table, and Dave even the prepared breakfast for us at 3am the day we left so that we'd have sustenance for our early flight. It was the loveliest beginning of a honeymoon imaginable! We're already planning to stay there again!

So great! Friendly, clean, and great breakfast! Love Pig Hill Inn and love the little town of Cold Spring!

It's on a lovely old street, a short walk to the river. Lovely eating room and helpful host.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Clean, comfortable, cute rooms. Delicious breakfast! Very friendly, helpful staff. Close to everything. Just great. Really great. Can't wait to do it again.

When checking in at the Inn we were greeted by one of the owners who offered to upgrade our room free of charge since there weren't many reservations at the time. We ended up staying in "Danish Blue", a beautiful room with a queen-size bed, wood-burning stove (complete with Duraflame), and a beautiful bathroom with exposed-brick walls. We stayed for only one night but were able to enjoy all that the Inn had to offer. Afternoon Tea, which was a hot water urn and a selection of tea-bags or hot cocoa to choose from, served with fresh-baked cookies, was enjoyed out in the garden seating area tucked away behind the old buildings on the hill with a view of the Hudson in the distance. Breakfast in Bed came right on time, and they do it RIGHT. We enjoyed scrambled eggs with bacon and toast, a belgian waffle with toast and strawberry garnish, o.j., fruit bowls, fresh coffee, muffins, everything you could want upon waking. We only wished we could have stayed to enjoy another breakfast in the greenhouse dining area to get the full experience. We're definitely going back, we had a lovely time and we want to stay in more of the rooms!

Our host Dave served us an excellent breakfast. He has asked already the night before what we wanted to have, and did some shopping to have everything set for the morning. A nice place to stay and to relax.

Dave welcomed us and showed us to one of the most comfortable, beautiful and charming rooms I have ever seen (we stayed in Danish Blue). Fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies awaited us downstairs and we enjoyed them on the outdoor patio with tea. Dave was kind, helpful and accessible. Everything in the bedroom was clean and comfortable with just that touch of "home." We had an extraordinary breakfast in bed the next morning (coffee, juice, muffins, fruit, waffles, bacon, eggs!) Food cooked with heart. I will go back as soon as I can!

Meant to make Pig Hill Inn a place to sleep during a weekend of hiking, but the weather did not cooperate. Fortunately, the Inn was such a welcoming, homey place that the weekend was far from a disappointment. The owner even drove us out to a small hiking area so we could get some time to hike in before the rain hit hard. Also great how easy it is to get there from the city w/o a car.

My wife and I had a two night getaway here recently. A pleasant surprise was the free homemade dessert provided every afternoon/evening on the ground floor along with the round-the-clock hot water dispenser for tea. Made for a great post-dinner treat. It's right on Main Street so all the shops and restaurants are within a 1-5 minute walk.

My wife and I stayed for 3 nights recently and loved the inn. The staff went overboard on making sure that we had everything we needed and for the outstanding breakfast. I had to be in NYC for several days so commuting was an easy 2 blocks walk to the train station and then an relaxing 1 hour train ride into the city. We hightly recommend this inn to anyone looking to get away for a few days and will def. stay here again.

A quaint B & B in the heart of Cold Springs. Handy to everything in the village. The owners we unbelievable generous and friendly, making this stay a nice, welcome contrast to the rather brusque demeanor you find in New York City. Overall, a terrific stay. Would definitely visit the Pig Hill Inn again.

The inn was very cozy and the staff friendly. Breakfast was very good & individual requests were easily accomadated. Room was quite small. Furniture was also small and did not hold much clothing, suitcase or vanity case. We did enjoy our stay because of the warm & friendly atmosphere.

The service is terrific. I find the owner and innkeeper very accommodating and the rooms are great. Breakfast is abundant; I generally cannot eat it all. It's a lovely part of Main Street, Cold Spring - close to train station for convenience but a block away so you don't hear the trains.

- Only three blocks from the train, which makes a car optional for those traveling from NYC. - Beyond the convenient location, there's nothing that sets this B&B apart. - Breakfast was decent and filling. - Having a store in the check-in area and price tags on items in the room was tacky. - Housekeeping staff neglected to change the "Duraflame" log in the wood burning fireplace and to leave extra toilet paper in the bathroom.

The Pig Hill Inn was an excellent place to go for the weekend - a beautiful room in a lovely town on the banks of the Hudson River. Dave was a great host - open and friendly, but respectful of privacy and space. We really felt like it was our place for the weekend. Breakfast was a feast, as at other B&Bs. But I appreciated their attention to detail and guests' needs when it came to food - they even asked about allergies. The best thing about it was the overall energy of the place - its warm, inviting feel made for a really special weekend. I would highly recommend the Pig Hill Inn. On top of it all, it is also walking distance from the train station. So there's no need for a car - just a Metro North ticket. It's the ideal escape from NYC.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Both of our rooms were charming, comfortable quiet,and clean. We loved the breakfast area and the food, including the evening snack. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting some of the other guests. We would definitely stay there again. We loved the town and the Hudson River Valley area.

Delightful. The Inn was clean, with friendly service, beautifully furnished, stylish, comfortable and isn't it nice when everything works as it should.

We stayed for three nights in early April. It was our first stay and we shall definitely return when we visit the area again. The lounge is wonderfully comfortable for reading and relaxing or partaking of the late afternoon goodies that are set out. The apple and blueberry pie were hard to resist.

I've made several trips to the Pig Hill Inn and it never disappoints. Every room has its own personal touch and they unquestionably serve the best breakfast in town. There is always pie, tea and coffe in the kitchen for late-arriving guests. Now that's class.

Beautiful inn and hospitable innkeepers - what a great way to get out of the city and into some fresh air for a weekend. Hot tea, coffee, and cocoa available all night and a warm fireplace for reading by. We came home feeling very refreshed.

This is a quaint, quiet, peaceful place with lovely decor and staff. Everyone was as kind and helpful as possible without impeding on our privacy at all. They left a pie in the common area in the evening so we could help ourselves to a treat. We did and it was wonderful. There are wood burning stoves in most rooms which is quite cozy in the winter. they very wisely use a special type of wood so that even city folk like me can have a fire with ease. We had a lovely, romantic stay. Thanks to everyone at Pig Hill!!

the hosts were lovely and very helpful. the location is great. fun shopping and close to West POint.

The stay was very nice...only complaint was the parking. It probably would not be a big deal in the spring or summer...but when the rain is coming down hard and there is no place close to park, it was a bit frustrating. Food and room were great...will stay there again.

We have stayed at this quaint Bed & Breakfast a few times. We have always had a wonderful experience. The owner is so gracious and her staff is excellent. Breakfast is amazing!! If you are visiting West Point this is the place to stay.

Lovely little B&B along the Hudson. Great position on Main St opposite the excellent French restaurant La Bouchon, very close to the railway station, and next to a hiking shop who will give friendly advise on routes etc.. All makes for a great weekend.

We came up for a short weekend, Cold Spring is adorable and easy to reach from the city. The train ride up the Hudson is beautiful. Loved the cookies, apple pie, and muffins.

We had a lovely stay at the Pig Hill Inn - all was very comfortable and our host, Dave, was always nearby to give a hand or directions - or whatever could be needed. He really tried to make the breakfast as nice as possible - - and he did!

It was a nice quiet place to spend the night. The breakfasts were made to order and were great. The staff was attentive to our needs. The bed linens were thread bare and could have been better fitted to the mattress. It was located in the middle of town convenient to all the shops/restaurants. The restaurants in town were a dissappointment...they had resonably priced memus...there was one expensive exception...but you felt rushed to eat. One restaurant we ate at, did not accept credit cards...that was troublesome for us. We didn't realize it until we were looking over the memu...we happen to have enough cash... We do plan on going back in season when the local tourist attractions are open.

I cannot say enough about the place. It was very near the Cold Spring Metro North stop, which made it wonderfully convenient. I called at least 10 times before arriving for various reasons, and each time was helped very patiently and kindly. When I arrived, I was greeted very warmly, and found my room (The Mountain Vista Room) to be a wonderful little haven for my girlfriend and I, complete with the champagne I requested when making the reservation online. The room was beautiful and very cozy, the breakfast - which can either be eaten in the quaint Garden room, or brought to the room (a wonderful option for a Valentine's Day getaway) - was delicious (appropriately, the bacon was outstanding), and Cold Spring was a great little town to stroll through arm in arm. Additionally, one of the proprietors, Vera Keil, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. For one, there was an issue where they somehow undercharged me for the room, which she made me aware of, and I agreed it was my fault and they should add the rest of the total on to my bill; however, she later approached me and thanked me for being so nice about handling it, and provided a mutually beneficial solution to the problem, without me having said a word to that end. But even as nice as that was (as a college student, it was fantastic to pay less), what I appreciated even more was the way she, as well as other staff members of the inn, recognized my girlfriend and I as individual people rather than just another set of customers. This may not sound revolutionary in an Inn with less than 15 rooms, but coming from the city, it was a wonderfully humanizing experience. All in all, I HIGHLY recommend the Pig Hill Inn. Go expecting a relaxing getaway from the turmoil of everyday life in a quaint and cozy rustic setting, and you will have every desire met. For the record, this is absolutely best enjoyed with a "special someone."

Everyone at the Pig Hill Inn are so nice and will do anything to make your stay wonderful..The room is great and the breakfast in delicious.. I would recommend the inn to anyone !!!

Spent one night here as a romantic getaway from NYC. Lovely interior, cozy rooms, great service. Would definitely return and probably spend more time, at least two nights.

A roaring fire and freshly-baked brownies greeted us on arrival, and everything kept up with that welcoming theme. A great place to stay when traveling through the Hudson Valley.

My husband and I love the Pig Hill Inn. We have stayed there four times so far and it has become a yearly tradition. The staff are warm and friendly, the rooms are cozy, each with their own fireplace or wood stove, breakfast is fantastic and every afternoon there is tea and a little something sweet laid out by the dining room. They really go out of their way to make sure you're had a perfect visit. It's the perfect getaway.

The Pig Hill Inn is a perfect place for a quick getaway from NYC. Easy train ride from the city and the Inn is less than a five minute walk from the station. The whole town is a delightful walk - plenty of interesting shops (Especially if you're into antiques) and good eats to be had. The keepers of the Inn are extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating (the owner offered her car to us!). They take great care in their breakfast and the dessert they leave for late night snacks. Our room was quite nice, comfortable, and clean! Definitely would recommend and go again ourselves.

Spent an NYC getaway weekend here and loved it. Easy walk from the Metro-North train station, staff was super-friendly, and room was cozy and clean -- we stayed in the Victorian Elegance. Highly recommended!!

I am very happy with my stay, the room was clean, the view was amazing and the service was very good. my only complaint was that the bed was extremely creaky.

My girlfriend and I loved our stay at the Pig Hill Inn. It was a short ride out of NYC on the Metro North and felt like it was thousands of miles away. Our room (Morning Ivy) was really quaint and homey. Nice shower, seating and comfortable bed. The fireplace was key. Breakfast was awesome and extensive. And the innkeeper Dave went above and beyond what we expected and really made our stay extra-special. We're already planning trip number 2.

Super friendly staff. We dined at another place, but the cook made a good breakfast. Room was cozy and romantic. Charming little town.

We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and quaint setting of Cold Spring. Breakfast was great - excellent service and hospitality as well as great food. The room (Victorian Elegance) did not feel comfortable. In particular, we had a very difficult time sleeping on the bed which was extremely soft and hurt our backs - understand the preference for charm but this should not come at the sacrifice of comforts.

Quaint 1 hour getaway from New York at the Pig Hill Inn. Same cozy romantic feel from years ago. Great dining and window shopping within minutes of the Inn.

This B&B is one to add to your list of must stays. It's location is perfect and the rooms are quaint and comfortable. The inn keeper made one of the best breakfasts we have ever had! Truly a good price for a great experience!
