Voted "One of the 10 most romantic inns in the U.S." - USA Today and Sunset Magazine. Hacienda del Sol offers Taos charm at its best: individually themed rooms furnished in décor unique to the Southwest region. Hearty home-cooked breakfasts and afternoon sweets are served daily. Set on 1.2 acres with courtyards surrounded by lilacs, towering cottonwoods, elms, willows and blue spruce marvel at the magnificent views of the spiritual Taos Mountain. The traditional adobes date back to 1804 and are a part of Taos' artistic history. It was owned by legendary art patroness, Mabel Dodge Luhan, and housed such notables as D.H. Lawrence, Georgia O'Keeffe and Willa Cather.
The Cowboy Room has a king bed, sitting area and a kiva fireplace. The bath has a steam shower. There is a fridge, cd player, special robes with Hacienda logo, amazing views of Taos Pueblo land adjacent to the Hacienda and the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains. The decor is totally southwest with antique remembrances of real cowboys.
The Escondido Room is adjacent to the beautiful garden area accessed by french doors. From the garden, one has the Taos Pueblo land and Taos Mountain for a gorgeous view. The bed is queen sized. There is a kiva fireplace with gas logs for an easy romantic atmosphere. A frig, cd player with a selection of cd's and robes with Hacienda logo make this a very desirable room. The bath is decorated with brightly colored mexican tiles with tub/shower. This is probably one of quietest, most serene rooms.
The Los Amantes Room was built in the 1920's as a writing room for Mabel Dodge Luhan. The bedroom has a king size bed with a handmade quilt, an old roll top desk and two over sized comfortable chairs for gazing at the wood-burning kiva fireplace. Large windows looking out on Taos Mountain and the gardens make for a special stay. The brand new double Jacuzzi tub has its own room with a rattan daybed, skylight and adjoining bath with a stone-tiled rainforest steam-room shower and glass waterfall sink. A charming, historic room for special occasions and getaways.
Taos Charm at its best. This room was recently refurbished and has a fabulous wood-burning fireplace, tile floor, viga and latilla ceiling, large dressing room and its own beautifully tiled private steam room! Very romantic! King size bed. The private patio boasts a swing hammock and handcrafted outdoor furniture.
The Cowgirl room is a second floor room that overlooks the gardens and frames a spectacular view of Taos Mountain in its large picture window. Snuggle in the king size Hacienda bed and enjoy the view or relax in comfortable Taos chairs by the corner gas log fireplace. High ceilings, western log vigas, and skylights add to the ambiance of this light and spacious room. The bathroom is luxury at its best! Pamper yourself in the two person 6'x4' Jacuzzi tub or the 4'x5' Mexican-tiled shower/steam room.
Mabel Dodge Luhan owned and entertained her guests in Mabel's Salon. A large historic room with thick adobe walls, a king sized bed, mexican tiled bath and shower, mini fridge, and a wonderful wood-burning kiva fireplace. Mabel's is a step back into Taos' history with its beautifully handcrafted Taos style furniture. King size bed.
Located in the same casita as La Vista and with the same extraordinary view from French doors, this charming room with a queen size sleigh bed, corner candle-lit fireplace is done in Native American decor.
Located in the same adobe casita as El Pueblo, this room with soft southwestern colors has a king size bed, corner candlelit fireplace, and French doors that open out to a wide expanse of lawn and gardens with a grand view of sacred Taos Mountain.
Also in the casita, this spacious room boasts a beautifully tiled bath, writing desk, king size bed, and comfortable Taos chairs in front of a large corner candle-lit kiva fireplace. Magnificent garden view from the French doors.
Just redecorated, the main room of this two-room suite has a beautiful queen size four poster bed and leather sofa in front of a corner gas log kiva fireplace. The smaller room has two cozy, southwest twin beds. The spacious mexican tiled bath features a separate shower and wonderful two person Jacuzzi tub with a skylight above.
Skylights and floor-to-ceiling windows make this a cheerful southwest room with a spacious mexican tiled bath and shower. The patio door opens on to a beautiful courtyard. This room is furnished with two handcrafted double beds and comfortable rocking chairs. Located in the historic section of the hacienda, the front door opens to the art gallery and living room.

My husband and I spent our anniversary in the Adobe and the Los Amantes. Air did not circulate well in the Adobe and we were very warm at night. We kept the windows open and used a floor fan; a ceiling fan would have been nice. I thought the Adobe had a private patio, but the fence is only a couple feet high in the front, which made me a bit uncomfortable leaving the shades open enough to circulate the air. The Los Amantes is larger and comfortable without a fan. Both rooms had clean bedding and the mattresses are firm, but not hard; comfortable. The Los Amantes does not have the large black Jacuzzi pictured on the web site. It has a smaller double white Jacuzzi up against the wall, which allowed for a nice double chair in the corner; perfect for cuddling! Candles are in the room. The area between the Jacuzzi and the sink and toilet doesn't have a door, but they do have a privacy screen that can be moved over. There are no T.V.'s in the rooms, but there is a CD player and they provide a few CDs. There is an outside hot tub with a sign-up sheet for private use. It was no problem to reserve a time slot and very enjoyable. Service was OUTSTANDING! Erika and Mark are spectacular! They were friendly, interesting and informative, but not pushy or invasive. Mark's breakfast is definitely worth waking up for!

Hacienda Del Sol is a wonderful place to relax and rest. We stayed here for our anniversary and loved it. We were treated like family and will return as soon as the opportunity arises. Gerd and Luellen were the perfect hosts and we will recommend Hacienda Del Sol to all of our traveling friends and family. Don't miss this magical place when visiting Taos!

This Bed and Breakfast could not have been more perfect. It was relaxation personified. The breakfasts were outstanding with three options each day. The location was quiet and peaceful and our hosts/hostesses were delightful and made ach guest feel as if they were the most important. The location was convenient to everything we wereinterested in doing, and the staff was most helpful to assist with out "tourist needs". Joe S., Phoenix, AZ

A charming and gorgeous B&B, certainly hope to return. Our room provided a view of the mountain and courtyard; delicious breakfast and friendly hosts. Will certainly recommend it to others. A central location with many restaurants and museums close by.
