This was among the best inns I've ever stayed in. Richard, the host, was phenomenal. The casita we stayed in (Bantam Roost) was beautiful--clean, artsy and well-appointed. I cannot think of a better place to stay in Taos!

My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Casa Gallina on our recent trip to Santa Fe and Taos. Richard, the owner, has created the perfect getaway on the rural outskirts of Taos. The beautifully-decorated casita we stayed in had a full kitchen, entertainment center, comfy furniture, and a lovely fireplace. It felt like home away from home. We enjoyed fresh eggs every morning from Richard's girls in the backyard. We found special treats ready for us after a day of exploring the Taos area. And we also enjoyed the very nice shampoo, soap, and lotion that was available to us. Normally, when we're on vacation, we are not happy when we experience inclement weather. Here, we were actually happy when it rained one day, because it gave us an excuse to hang out in that cozy casita. We thank Richard for his attention to detail, and for his hospitable, but nonintrusive, approach to our stay at this highly-recommended place.

Richard Spera and his Casa Gallina offered us the best time we have ever had in a bed & breakfast situation. Everything bears his touch, from the decor, to the landscape and his delicious breakfasts (opt for them!) He is also known to leave you an occasional home baked treat. He is friendly, knowledgeable and the Inn is GREEN. Only organic and green products are used, and wind powered electricty is used as well. He is an Artisinal Innkeeper, and does not cut corners, and subscribes to Fair trade practices and products to ensure that he buys services and goods that are produced where countries treat their peoples fairly. Wi-Fi and computers in every Casita, Kiva fireplaces or wood burning stoves, and Satellite TV and hundreds of CDs of the best music are at your fingertips. Be sure and book one of Richard's professional massages when you book your Casita. His book fills up from guests and outside clients, so act then! Once you come, you will return. He's more than an innkeeper. He loves everyone. A friendlier person you will not find. You'll want to remain friends after you leave!
