A few days spent in another place and time - one could really imagine the Taos of two hundred years ago here. But with considerable serenity not afforded those earlier folks - our apartment overlooked the labyrinth- perfect for a meditative morning walk and the zen garden (accompanied by the gentle clucking of contented chickens). And breakfast! - B&B's are a genre of accommodation noted for breakfast but Adobe & Pines has simply the best I've ever encountered. Thank you,Renee and Phillip.

My wife and I, along with our daughter and son in law booked rooms at the Adobe and Pines Inn. We were planning our very first trip to the southwest and wanted to stay a couple of days and nights in Taos after some time in Santa Fe. We found a recommendation in the Fodor's Travel Guide for the Santa Fe area. We soon found out why Adobe and Pines is included in the Fodor's publication. The rooms and grounds are quaint and cozy! (The two rooms we stayed in are part of the 200 year old original adobe structure!) Renee and Phillip are wonderful, engaging hosts, who we are happy to have met and hope to return again to visit in the not too distant future. The breakfasts that they prepared had a southwestern flair that we New Englanders had never before experienced, and they were flavorful and beautifully presented. They were also very knowledgeable with the local sites to visits and places to enjoy local cuisine. The courtyard provides an atmosphere that is relaxing and contemplative. Although there was much we had planned to do in the area over the two days we visited Taos, we can imagine that had we more time to stay, we could have had a pleasant time just sitting near the gardens in the hammock with a good book. By the way, the Inn is within walking distance of the St. Francis Church, the image of which photographer Anselm Adams and artist Georgia O'Keefe made famous in the 1920's and '40's. It is also within short driving distances Taos proper, the Taos Pueblo, the Rio Grande River Gorge Bridge, and many other wonderful places in north central New Mexico. Most of all, Renee and Phillip make the Adobe and Pines Inn a wonderful place to feel welcome! Claude and Claudeen Lewiston, Maine

Adobe and Pines B&B is a great place to stay! The atmosphere on the grounds is wonderful. We stayed in Puerta Blanca with some friends. The room was wonderful and the breakfast each morning was delicious! There was a slight malfunction with our hot tub the first night, when we mentioned it the next morning they quickly resolved the issue and gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne for the trouble. Phillip and Renee were excellent hosts and I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in the area. We will be back on our next ski trip!

First, Renee, Phillip & Lily are just absolutely lovely people! The inn is full of quiet charm and delightful Southwest touches. Our room was cleverly decorated and the wood-burning kiva fireplace, with plenty of wood just outside, made this a cozy retreat. Renee was also our chef and her breakfasts were creative and delicious. My favorite was the boiled citrus with fresh mint! Lily was kind enough to draw us a map to a local hot spring and even gave us her personal mobile number in case we got lost. Our room (Puerta Turquese) even had a journal for guests to write about their experiences and I thought this was a very personal and unique touch. The only things I would improve would be the mattress, the hard water, and the tub. The mattress was very hard and difficult to get much rest. The addition of king size beds and new mattresses would put this place in the five circle range. The water tasted really bad, too and left my hair feeling rough. And the jetted tub looked old which is probably due to the hard water. Also, the Wi-Fi is nearly impossible to access in the rooms due to the thickness of the old adobe. Renee did say they had tried nearly everything to make it better, but I think adding signal hubs in each room would help. So, overall the stay was a bit rustic, but if you don't mind that you will have a wonderful time. We would stay here again, but with some upgrades to this property, I feel the prices of the rooms would be more justified.

Renee and Phillip made our elopement weekend in Taos perfect. Our room was lovely, the breakfasts were delectable, the grounds were lovely. It snowed buckets that weekend so our wedding was held in the lobby, which worked out well-----room for all of us but intimate.

Renee and Phillip are fantastic and the breakfasts were a delight! I stayed in the Verde room. It was cozy and comfortable. Great location to base out of and explore the Taos area and it was an easy drive to the Taos Ski Valley.

My husband was having surgery at Taos Holy Cross Hospital and we needed a place to have a peaceful night's sleep the day before his surgery, that would also be a safe, convenient place for me to stay while he was recovering. This was our first visit to a bed and breakfast and it was a totally wonderful experience! We both were well rested following our first night's visit and I felt I was in a comfortable, safe environment as I stayed at Adobe & Pines Inn on my own. . The food was delicious! Philip and Renee were kind and caring. The atmosphere was comforting. Our stay at Adobe & Pines was successful and I plan to make my next reservation at a bed and breakfast!

Not sure why B&B.com won't let me put in five stars on all categories. If there were seven stars, I'd choose them. This is a totally romantic and peaceful getaway with breakfasts people come from all over to enjoy. Renee and Phillip make the difference and have built a real gem of a place. Try the Roja casita for couples. The bathroom is wonderful with a fireplace next to the huge two-person jet tub and a walk-in shower.

Everything about our stay was fantastic! The room was spacious, sparkling clean, and beautifully decorated. The staff was gracious and accommodating, the gourmet breakfasts were delicious, and the grounds were well maintained. A wonderful, quiet place which we hope to revisit!

We had a delightful 4 nights at the Adobe and Pines - restful and relaxing. We walked the beautiful labyrinth each day, raked the Japanese garden, ate delicious meals, read and chatted on our front porch, and fell in love with the entire place. If you need rejuvenation - this is your place.

Excellent B&B. South of town, but in a lovely parkland location.
3.2 on September 05, 2014
Room (Cobre) was very comfortable and well equipped (including sitting area, kitchenette, and hot tub outside), but dark (and artificial lighting was insufficient). Location at the S. edge of Taos is good (very near the photogenic S. Francisco de Asís adobe church), but too close to the main highway (noise was annoying when outside the room, but inaudible inside). Owners very friendly and helpful--great hiking tips. Breakfasts were superb--highly recommended on this count alone.
5 on September 03, 2014
Adobe and Pines is a beautiful inn - authentic to its locale with comfortable rooms and landscaped grounds that invite you to linger and relax. Phillip and Renee are the rarest of innkeepers - genuinely gracious and hospitable. Breakfast is delicious, and food allergies are handled scrupulously and respectfully. We also loved the soundtracks that played in the common room and breakfast area throughout the day.

we booked the adobe & pines B/B based on the reviews from others on this website. We were not disappointed. The pictures on their website are a true representation. The surrounding grounds are beautiful. You will here some road noise from state road 68 but that was manageable. The 3 course breakfast you get served is delicious and Taos is a great area to explore. Highly recommend the adobe & pines bead and breakfast !

First let me say that I am a Bacon and eggs kind of guy and really just needed a place to sleep and shower. The wife and I spent 3 nights at Adobe & Pines to the tune of $249.00 plus tax. We had a pleasant stay. The property if fairly quiet, but there is some traffic noise from the adjacent Hwy 68. Our room was clean and comfortable. The room, "Cobre", has a hot tub outside that my wife enjoyed. Pros - Quiet Location, Friendly Owners, Friendly Black Cat Cons - Price, Breakfast was awful (not our kind of food), shower sucked, TV too small and in odd place, no phones in room, bed was somewhat uncomfortable. Glad we stayed there, but when we go to Taos next time I'll stay at the Hampton Inn or similar location. I just need a phone, decent shower and normal breakfast.
5 on August 19, 2014
The rooms are absolutely beautiful, clean, and peaceful. It was hard to get me out of it to enjoy Taos! The grounds are well kept and create a very relaxing atmosphere. The breakfasts were creative and tasted great! I can't find even one thing they could improve on-- it was a perfect stay.

From the moment we drove down the tiny, secluded road into the grounds it was as if we were transported to another place and time. The noises of the city hushed and all we could hear were birds and the meowing of a kitty that seemed very much at home there. The grounds themselves were stunning. Everywhere we looked were bird houses, flowers, and wind chimes hanging out of the trees. There were also little alcoves designed to help one relax. One alcove held a hammock, another a table and chairs beside a firepit, and then there were benches scattered here and there. There was even a labryinth that could be walked. The grounds were both welcoming and lovely. We stayed in the Puerta Cobre, which turned out to be a private little casita right off the courtyard. It took a while to notice everything that lovely casita had to offer. We entered by some french doors and spent the first ten minutes looking around. There was a living area, kitchenette, a stunning queen-sized bed, a gas fireplace that could be seen in both the living and sleeping area, and a TV. The room contained two sets of french doors that let in lots of light and opened onto a small patio area overlooking the courtyard. Outside, around the corner of the casita there was an enclosed two-person private hot-tub. However, my favorite room was the bathroom. It is the epitome of romantic settings, with its two-person whirlpool tub, candles, and fireplace. Step around a brick wall for a shower or wrap yourself in cozy robes and slippers. This is a perfect casita for anyone celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, or wanting to rekindle an old or start a new romance. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. This was our second visit to the Adobe and Pines B&B, and believe me, we will be back again.

After three nights here, we decided to stay 2 more. Can't say enough good things about this quaint, serene and peaceful location. Even if you aren't into understanding "good energy", you'll get a feel of what it is when you stay here. Every room is different with it's comfortable and unique qualities. Day or night, the property radiates beauty and careful attention. After a good night's rest you awaken to one of the most awesome breakfasts with expansive windows that make you feel like you are eating outside. The most delicious and creative three course breakfast, every morning. Not to mention the extraordinary hospitality of Renee, Kelsey and Phillip. Thorough, helpful, friendly, gregarious and caring. We can say that this experience is one for the memory book. Just make sure you plan to stay for more than one night. You won't want to leave. We wanted to spend a few days just on the property alone. A true gem in the town of Taos. While you're there, try hot air ballooning in the Rio Grande Canyon with Pueblo Balloon Company. What a breath taking experience of a life time. So glad our first ride was in Taos.

This place was so relaxing and peaceful. The room I stayed in, the Violeta, had wonderful amenities - private balcony, fireplace, hot tub. There are places to relax in the courtyards and grounds, including a hammock. Delicious breakfast with local and seasonal ingredients, including some grown on site. Located close enough to the main shopping and dining area of Taos that eating and shopping are convenient, yet situated so that the grounds and rooms are very quiet and peaceful. Wonderful customer service.

We spent the July 4th weekend at Adobe and Pines. From the moment we got there, everything was perfect. We were greeted and walked to our suite. We stayed in the Puetra Cobre suite. It was amazing - beautifully decorated with a jacuzzi tube for two and a fireplace in the bathroom. It's a very romantic space. Our hosts were friendly and there if you needed them but not intrusive. The breakfasts were creative and delicious as were the cookies and lemonade that was put out each afternoon. The grounds are peaceful and beautiful. The setting really gives you a sense of a peaceful retreat. I highly recommend this B&B and will definitely stay there again and recommend it to my friends.

Renee, Phillip and Kelsey were incredible hosts at this beautiful old adobe B&B. I stayed for six nights and couldn't wait to get out of bed and have an amazing 3 course breakfast with fresh ingredients. Bed comfy and room huge with fireplace in bathroom and bedroom and kitchenette. I will be back next year! (also not in town or on strip, but close enough...I liked this location)

This was the first time that we had stayed at a B&B and we were VERY pleased with our choice. We only stayed one night, but in talking to another guest who had been there the night before and a discussion about what the food was for the next morning, the breakfast menu is constantly changing with unique pairings of great food.

We traveled around the entire US by train and stopped in New Mexico for a four day stay at Adobe and Pines. Great bed, clean great room, great views, friendly staff and delicious unique breakfasts. The Violeta room where we stayed has a patio off the upstairs room where we were able to have morning coffee and be outside during the day. Renee and Phillip are friendly hosts that made our stay special. The location is quiet and close to everything to do in and around Taos.
5 on May 25, 2014
We absolutely loved staying here! The staff was very welcoming and helpful. Renee's breakfast each morning was delicious and probably our favorite part of our stay. The grounds were very peaceful and serene. The Puerta Turquese was perfect for our stay. We loved the fact that our door opened up to a beautiful courtyard and that we had our own outdoor private hottub. We will definitely be staying here again.

My husband and I have not been huge B & B fans because we have always valued our personal space and the flexibility to come and go by our own schedule. Adobe Pines offers the perfect mix: gracious and helpful staff who know when to "let you be" and how to set up their breakfast schedule in a way convenient to all (one compact half hour, early in the morning). The rooms are also very private feeling and decorated beautifully, without being overdone. I can only imagine how beautiful the whole compound is during the spring and summer seasons. We stayed in early March and the temps were still around 30-40 in Taos. I found it great being on the south side of Taos and out of the main buzz of town -- it was still very convenient to head into a restaurant, etc. We absolutely loved hiking in the north (Wild Rivers) and south parts of the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument, which is fairly new and was completely unknown to us. Both trailhead areas are a convenient drive from Taos. Finally, the breakfasts were to die for -- varied, fresh and beautifully presented. The entire stay was worth every penny.
5 on March 03, 2014
We love to stay at the Adobe and Pines B & B spring, summer, fall and winter! Phillip and Renee are excellent innkeepers and go above and beyond to ensure your visit is great. Can't say enough good things about this inn!
5 on February 19, 2014
The house was spectacular. The land is tucked away, yet close to the town. I spent the days skiing while my partner loved being able to walk to access the wonderful public transportation to explore and photograph on her own. We occupied "Rosa", with a fireplace in the main room, and one in the bathroom. The bathroom...with sauna attached...you stepped down into an enchanting room for relaxing and warming the bones after a chilly day in beautiful, crisp Taos. The tub, so huge (all tile, all natural fibers, no prefab stuff in this B&B) with candles and endless hot water. Impeccably decorated...you just sink into the charm and good energy of the southwest here at Adobe and Pines. Hot tea or homemade hot chocolate with yummy cookies at night. Outside fireplace to enjoy the scent of pinon drifting serenely into a beautiful starry Taos night. Gourmet breakfast every morning...AMAZING and filling and made with love. Renee and Kelsey, our hosts (Philip was at work), made us feel at home. There's a labyrinth on the property, a healing, beautiful element for any who are seeking some spiritual healing or balance. Absolutely NOTHING pretentious about this B&B...thank goodness!!!! Coming home, we feel a sense of longing already for Adobe and Pines...trust me...I often come home not remembering or caring much for my place of stay due to generic rooms, poor service or whatever. NOT so with Adobe and Pines. Already looking at our calendar for our summer visit, as we can't wait until next winter to return. If you stay any place else, you will definitely lose out.
5 on February 19, 2014
This place is spectacular. Great rooms, great food, great hosts. Perfect location just outside of town. Easy to find, and they made our stay a treat. We will be back.
5 on January 22, 2014
The charm, romance and tastefulness of this inn exceded our expectations. The photos lie...it's better. This property is obviously an on-going act of love. Where ever one looks, there are enchanting arrangements/tableaus.While unique and personal, these bountiful touches fit into their environment as if they had grown there as opposed to having been placed. The breakfasts showed equal care and - double meaning - tastefulness.

My husband and I had a perfect weekend in Taos while staying at the Adobe and Pines Inn. We stayed in the Rosa room and enjoyed lots of bathes and made good use of the private sauna. Our dog loved it too -- he got to roam the back courtyard while we ate breakfast... and the breakfasts were amazing! Three-course gourmet meals every morning. We loved the omelets with veggies (including sweet potatoes) and the biscuits with strawberry almond butter. The owners were very generous and helpful. Renee showed us a great hike which we did on Saturday. On Sunday, she gave us directions to Manby Hot Springs, a lovely little hike that's not to be missed. We finished the weekend at Taos Mesa Brewing company, a brewery close to the hot springs. We will definitely recommend Adobe and Pines to anyone heading to Taos and we plan to come back next year.

Adobe & Pines Inn is the best B&B we've experienced during our decades of travel. The building and grounds are historic, beautiful and yet modern. The rooms have fireplaces (wood provided) which we burned at night and in morning(romantic for adults and interesting for kids), even though they have individually controlled heat and AC. The rooms were also modern with updated baths, TVs(large selection of CD movies), radio and WiFi. Renee and staff were the most accommodating, pleasant and helpful that we've encountered. The grounds encourage relaxing outside with chairs on porch, tables/chairs under trees, hammock, beautiful landscaping and walks. Breakfasts are very creative, quite tasty and so generous. They also happily altered what they served to avoid food allergies. Coffee, tea and cookies are always available. Did we like it? Yes - although we were just there earlier this week we've already recommended Adobe & Pines to at least 5 people and can't wait to return ourselves.

It was a nice surprise to turn into the Adobe Inn after a day of driving. The grove of trees that this home is nestled in made me feel as if I had entered a quiet, secluded and secret place. The owner was generous with her time and made us very comfortable very quickly. The room we had was nice and the least expensive of the rooms. I heard from other guests how great their rooms were. My only reserve in not giving it 5 stars is the lack of privacy in the bathroom - no door. The food was fresh, innovative and very good. I would stay there again and again.

Great place to stay while visiting Taos. Close to everything but has a secluded feel to it. Would definitely stay there again. The room, the atmosphere, the breakfasts, the service are all awesome. A great getaway.

Stayed three days, lovely place.Food is great, staff is awesome. Very clean, very accommodating, will do whatever they can to make your stay great. Choose a larger room than the Verde Room, it is a bit small. It got very cold and I thought the room was drafty and we could hear the people next store talking quit plainly.

My stay here was absolutely all that I expected it to be. It was so peaceful and serene. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend Adobe Pines and Inn to anyone looking to have a quiet getaway.

Renée's food was creative and wonderfully varied, making each meal a treat that kept us energized until dinner. We will be back!

I am always skeptical when reviews are effusive, but after spending two nights at Adobe Pines we understand why everyone raves about Renee and Phillip. The breakfasts are tasty, unique, and filling enough to last until well after noon. The setting is peaceful, and it is relaxing to visit the chicken pen (and thanks for the fresh breakfast eggs). The feel of 180 year old adobe is amazing. BTW, be sure to eat a dinner at Martina’s restaurant right up the street. What an incredible meal in a phenomenal restored adobe structure. Doc Marten’s was a good meal, but Martina’s was a fantastic experience. If you suffer from asthma, consult with Renee on which rooms might be best for you. (Much of New Mexico uses wood fires for heating and cooking, and there are many trees and bushes that emit various pollens and irritants, especially in the spring. This can be rough on allergies.) We had a cozy room with a woodburning fireplace, but had to change to a room with a gas log fireplace. As you can imagine, Renee and Phillip were incredibly accommodating to our needs. We don’t know when we will next be in Taos, but Adobe Pines will be our home. Great job Renee and Phillip—continued success! Ed & Vicki

After spending three fun filled, but go-go-go days in New Mexico we arrived in Taos and the Adobe and Pines B&B. What a wonderful, relaxing and beautiful inn. The inn has many beautiful gardens and all kinds of nooks and grannies in which to explore and relax. The breakfasts are a culinary pleasure. The hosts, Renee and Phillip are so welcoming and so knowledgeable about the surrounding area. So if you want to rest and relax under the huge trees or see all the sights in the Taos area this wonderful Spanish Hacienda is the place for you.

My wife and I spent our 44th wedding anniversary with Renee and Phillip and could not have had better hosts; better room or better breakfasts. They did everything they could to make the weekend special for us and their B&B was the best part of the trip to Taos.

Taos wasn't all it was cracked up to be, it had a generally run-down appearance. Aside from a few points of interest and a few good restaurants, all it had to offer was shopping. If it wasn't for the Adobe and Pines B&B our trip would have been a total bust. The Adobe and Pines B&B was absolutely wonderful, our room was delightful and the breakfasts were first rate. The setting and the adobe architecture is charming and inviting. Our room on the second floor had a large deck overlooking the front of the property; we dined there often. The owners were professional, accommodating and interesting. Should we return to Taos, this is where we'll stay.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Adobe and Pines B&B. It is a wonderful old adobe structure with all the modern conveniences. The rooms are well appointed. The breakfast was truly delicious with more than generous portions. After eating breakfast, we generally only snacked the rest of the day. The location is near the St. Francis of Assisi church in Ranchos De Taos and other nearby destinations. This was our first visit to Taos, other than to just drive through from or to other destinations in the southern Rock Mountains. We spent four full days in Taos and did not run out of interesting destinations. There are several interesting museums that cover both the local history and the local art scene. The number of art galleries is impressive for an otherwise relatively small town and if you should need to eat after the large breakfast, there are more than enough locations from which to choose. A surprise was the gorge at the Rio Grande River a short distance outside Taos. The bridge that crosses the gorge and the gorge itself are worth the short drive; approximately ten miles north of town on HWY 64. Enjoy your stay in Taos and the southern hospitality of the folks running the Adobe and Pines B&B.

The Inn with its expansive grounds and southwest architecture was stunning, as well as the graciousness and warm hospitality of Philip and Renee. And do they know how to make scrumptious southwest breakfasts that will last through lunch! Highly recommend, especially the Rosa or Violeta room.

This was our first time here, and I know we will return! The owners made us feel very welcome, and the breakfast that was served in the morning was fantastic!!! Very pet friendly, which is important to us since we travel with our German Shepherd

My girlfriend and I were referred to Adobe & Pines by a friend. We thought that the B&B sounded like a nice place to spend our 1st Anniversary. What a referral! We stayed in the Puerta Rosa room for three nights and enjoyed it all . . . the fireplaces, the awesome sunken bathtub, the sauna, and the incredible ambiance. Breakfast was always more than enough and gourmet. yum We wouldn't hesitate to spend another anniversary at the Abode & Pines.

We were lucky to get the last room available for our last night in Taos. Next time, we'll stay longer. Phillip and Renee made us feel comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful room as well as the relaxing, lovely property.

My wife and I returned to the Adobe & Pines Inn after we initially honeymooned there nine years ago. Fortunately, everything was the same great place, but with the added enhancement of new, wonderful hosts! Breakfasts was delicious with amazing presentation. The room was very comfortable, with a second kiva fireplace in the bathroom for those chilly mornings. Renee and Phillip surprised us with a bottle of champagne on our anniversary! It won't take us nine years to return; guaranteed. Ron and Sandy

We stayed at the Adobe and Pines many times back in the 90's. Back then it was the only place we would stay in Taos for our annual ski trip to New Mexico. Life got in the way and we didn't get back to Taos for over 12 years. For old times sake we booked the Adobe and Pines for this trip, knowing there were new owners and perhaps a little apprehensive that it would not measure up to our many great memories there. There was no need to worry. The inn is as spectacular and comfortable as ever, Renee and Phillip are great hosts,, the food is by far the best we have been served there through three different owners. The Adobe and Pines is certainly back on our "annual must do" list.

We stayed in the funky cool La Turqueza with a kitchenette. Renee and Phillip are just the best and we would stay there forever if we could. You owe yourselves this enchanting place!

Loved Adobe and Pines Inn! A beautiful historic hacienda with private, quiet and peaceful surroundings. Renee and Phillip are gracious hosts, anticipating our every need. We really enjoyed the hot tubs, kiva fireplaces in the evenings and the delicious breakfasts every morning. Accommodations are spacious and very comfortable, felt like home. So much better than staying in a hotel. Hope to make a return trip soon!

We visited New Mexico for the first time recently & stayed at several b&bs. We should have cancelled the others & extended our stay here 'cause every other place pales in comparison. Renee & Phillip are the perfect hosts, the setting is tranquil, accomodations clean & comfortable, food to die for! Everything was just perfect in every way. Thanks Renee & Phillip for making our stay memorable; it really was the highlight of our trip!

The setting was unique and beautiful. The room was great. Breakfast was delicious and I loved the view. The chef (along w/ the innkeepers) was a big help in giving suggestions on where to hike, eat, shop, etc. Great time!

We had a wonderful time at this B&B. Phillip and Renee were exquisite hosts. We had planned activities but decided to spend more time on the grounds to enjoy everything that was available. Splendid Weekend!

Best place for couples with kids or without kids. There is no comparison about the kind of service you receive here atAdobe & Pines Inn to the service of a hotel. Renee and Phillip Macnutt have everything it takes to make their guests at Adobe & Pines Inn feel at their very best. Everyday becomes a new experience to remember. This is a place that you must stay during a visit to Taos. You going to love it.
5 on September 16, 2012
We stayed in the Puerta Violeta, which was beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Renee and Phillip were perfect hosts and we felt right at home during our stay. The grounds are well maintained and very peaceful. We are looking forward to staying at Adobe & Pines Inn again.

This place had a three course breakfast handmade from the garden. WIth nice touches such as complimentary lemonade made from scratch, different each day to desserts for purchase. One could truly relax and take in the NM decor and gardens. As a big plus they also have a meditation labyrinth for guest to use as part of their stay. The couple who owned the place were welcoming and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well decorated. The only thing keeping this place from a five is that the sink faucets needed minor repair, the toilet was little wobbly in one of my rooms and for some reason their were coffee bags in the room but no tea. You could get tea with breakfast so I wasn't totally without.

Adobe and Pines is a wonderful place to stay. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The buildings and rooms are inviting and each have comfortable unique Southwest charm. Rooms with tubs and spas are a plus. Also, the food is great! We have stayed at several B&B's in Taos, and Adobe and Pines is our favorite thus far.
5 on August 18, 2012
Fresh lemonade and cookies upon arrival, very good breakfast , splendid surrounds and extremely comfortable rooms. This stay was the highlight of our trip. Our only regret was that we did not book more than one night. Many thanks to our hosts Renee and Phil.

Phil and Renee were very accomodating to our schedule. The breakfasts were great
5 on August 08, 2012
Our accommodations included a leather couch, a kitchen area, a queen sized bed, flat screen TV two fire places and a spectacular bath suite with sunken tub and fire place, walk in shower and his and hers sinks. Phil and Renee were warm, friendly and accommodating. They offered suggestions for sight seeing and dinner, places to run as well as shared history of the Inn and how they came to it. My husband and I are usually very active on vacations; exercising, sight seeing or traveling on the motorcycle. Adobe and Pines created a perfect balance for us. In the morning, we were able to run and enjoy the scenery, then return to relax with a stroll through the labyrinth. After a full day of sight seeing, we returned to the inn to visit with our hosts and just sit outside, enjoying a snack, reading, our just taking in the calm, beautiful setting. The highlight of our stay had to be the 3 course breakfasts. Renee easily adapted her recipes to meet my dietary needs. Wish we could have stayed a third night, just to sample more of Renee's delicious meals. When we arrived, we felt like we were being greeted by new neighbors and when we left it felt as though we had been visiting with old friends. We would highly recommend Adobe and Pines to anyone visiting the Taos area.

We have fond memories of our stay at Adobe and Pines. A quiet place to relax, reflect, and be renewed. Phillip, Renea, and all the staff welcomed us with smiles and much kindness that only comes from the heart! We stayed seven days and each morning the presentation of breakfast equaled the outstanding food they prepared and served. The fresh baked cookies, ice tea, and lemonade beckoned us home in the late afternoon to enjoy after a day of sightseeing. It truly became our home away from home and we look forward to returning. I pray all at Adobe and Pines will be blessed as much as they blessed us!

I've stayed at a lot of bed and breakfasts and this was one of the best experiences I've had. The historic property is located in a lush valley right outside Taos. It's secluded nature coupled with the goats, chickens, garden, and shady grounds made for a very tranquil and refreshing experience. Phillip made whitewater rafting reservations for us before we even arrived when I had mentioned over the phone that we'd like to do that. Renee made the best fresh veggie omelets, fresh fruit yogurt, homemade pastries, eggs benedict, cookies, and ice tea and lemonade. We recommend the Williams Lake hike up by the ski resort followed by dinner at the Bavarian. It was absolutely breathtaking at the top of the hike and our golden retriever loved swimming in the cold mountain lake. I think the personality of the owners and the great breakfasts really made this place stand apart. The rooms were clean and beautiful and historic, but I'd come back just to chat with Renee and Phillip again. Such lovely people.

Pictures don't convey the beauty and comfort of the rooms. This historic inn offers a unique experience, appealing regional flavor, delicious coffee and breakfasts. Grounds include native plants, large diverse trees, a hammock, many spots for sitting to rest, read, visit or dream. Hosts are gracious, helpful, accommodating ~ friendly without being intrusive. The smooth adobe walls, tilework, kivas, animal skin throws, first class linens are immaculately clean with careful attention to detail. Take time for the labyrinth and its central fountain, visit the goats and chickens in their tidy, delightful yard, and take in the view of pasture, mountains, trees and sky.

5 on June 21, 2012
Adobe & Pines was easily the best place we've ever stayed, for many reasons. We were immediately welcomed by Renee, who had set out the most delicious lemonade we'd ever had, along with fresh baked cookies and watermelon (and a friendly dog to pet!). The grounds are lovely, as was our room which was stocked with everything that we could possibly need. They really think about the small touches here and that's what makes it so special. We barely even wanted to go into Taos because we were so content to lie in the hammock and listen to the sound of the creek that runs through the property. And believe them when they say that they have gourmet breakfast - it's amazing!! We will definitely be back to visit our idea of heaven.

Phillip and Renee were warm, welcoming, down-to-earth hosts and Adobe and Pines is quintessential Southwest. A beautiful, peaceful, and romantic place to stay. We stayed in the Violeta which felt like its own apartment in that you come in and go upstairs. The room was spacious and romantic with a large sunkin jetted tub and it's own veranda overlooking the hacienda where you could sit and have coffee. The breakfasts were pieces of artwork on a plate that were so delicious! Loved the cheese blintzes!! Also really enjoyed the Labrynth on the property. An excellent restaurant worth a visit is Graham's Grill. The wild salmon and blue corn red trout were exceptional. We will be back to Adobe and Pines it's truly wonderful!
4.2 on June 01, 2012
We enjoyed our stay very much. The new owners are wonderful people, easy-going, eager to help with anything, loving to our dog (they have a great dog, too) and simply amazing in the kitchen. The rooms are spotless and comfortable. The breakfasts are absolutely fabulous in both the presentation and taste departments. Beware, if you stay too long you could gain a few pounds. But honestly, the food is so good it would be worth tight pants.

Stayed here for 2 nights over Memorial Day weekend. Wow, what a treat! Great food and wonderful hosts.
5 on May 29, 2012
Although located adjacent to the highway which leads from Santa Fe to Taos, the grounds are wonderfully calm and quiet, to say nothing of beautiful. The water gurgling through the acequio, which traverses the grounds, was music to my ears. The buildings themselves are charming in their Old World and Spanish way. Phillip and Renee are delightful, as is Tracie; each of them has the perfect personality for the hospitality industry. Breakfast was delicious. If you like quietude, wonderful food, nature, and adobe architecture, and Spanish design, this is certainly an inn to consider.

Our stay at Adobe and Pines B&B was the highlight of our visit to Taos. The B&B is totally charming and relaxing. New owners, Rachel and Philip, graciously extend their hospitality to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable. The breakfast was top notch, a tasty way to start your day exploring the area. The grounds were well kept and the 200 year old adobe room we stayed in was very comfortable and roomy. Two thumbs up!

I highly recommend Adobe and Pines B&B. My family and I had never been to Taos, so we were not sure where to stay. After doing lots of research on places to stay... I came across Adobe and Pines. If you're interested in getting the sense and feel of how Taos may have been decades ago, when in my opinion it was at it's best, the Adobe and Pines is the place to stay. Old rambling adobe buildings on grounds that are mature and full of trees and well loved critters, Louis and Katherine have updated where needed and left the heart and soul of this fantastic old estate. Were there in winter and can't wait to visit in every season! Michael and Lynndean

The breakfasts were really special! The Innkeepers were really friendly and helpful. I really liked the wood burning fireplace and secluded location. I was disappointed in the sink and tile work on the vanity. It was damaged and repairs were needed. I viewed other units and loved all the other rooms. I would love to stay again in another unit.

Very comfortable and private room on the 2nd floor. Hosts were wonderful -- both very friendly and conversational and Louis an excellent cook as well. We enjoyed the very meditative and reflective labyrinth on the grounds. Great location minutes away from center of Taos and a few minutes from some wonderful hiking areas.

Adobe and Pines is an architecturally authentic and beautiful lodge with added personal touches by the owners. Katherine and Louis and the staff make themselves available throughout the day and are very informative. Louis' cooking is fantastic. The breakfasts, especially the eggs benedict, are the best I've ever had at a b & b.

Loved the location and the room but the breakfasts beat all. The owners are very nice and attentive. Loved having a private hot tub and that our dogs were welcome. Our family stayed there in early August, 2011. We loved our stay (in fact, we added a night). We arrived in Taos, on a "drive-about", and had not made any reservations for accomodations. We "happened upon" Adobe & Pines Inn, and Katherine and Louis graciously allowed us to have their last available room at the last minute. What a delightfuly charming and peaceful place to rest for a couple of days. The smell of coffee brewing and breakfast cooking awakened us, and the mornings were spent enjoying the bountiful breakfasts shared with "new friends", personal stories and laughter. The warm cookies and lemonade on the Veranda were a welcomed treat after a long day of enjoying all that Taos has to offer. The prices are very reasonable and considering they included a fabulous Gourmet Breakfast, even more so! If you are looking for a place to stay with that "extra special something", then Adobe and Pines is the place for you! Joe & Vickie Walker / Austin, TX

When I learned this B&B had goats, I booked our last three nights in NM here. My husband and I were impressed the moment we arrived. The grounds were beautiful, and we were warmly greeted with a room upgrade! I had a ton of fun taking photos of the grounds and animals, which included several adorable goats, chickens, friendly cats, and lazy dogs, while my husband loved reading in the hammock. We even decided to forgo all our planned activities our last day and spent the day relaxing at the B&B, leaving only to enjoy the Taos restaurants. Our hosts were too kind, and the breakfasts were too delicious! I never really understood the allure of B&Bs until now.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights (and three breakfasts) in May. We had a living social coupon for a romantic getaway, and after a 6 hour drive to get there we were greeted with a bottle of cold champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, robes and slippers. We stayed in the Purerta Azul room, which I believe is their smallest. It hadits own fireplace, and we built a fire every night. The breakfasts were fantastic - the plates were rimmed with a medley of fruit each morning, and small muffins and biscuits also accompanied the meal. We had cheese blintzes, southwestern eggs benedict, and huevos rancheros while we were there. Fresh cookies in the afternoon were a great bonus. They are quite pet friendly, and there were a few resident dogs and cats around the grounds. Had we not been exploring Taos and Ojo Caliente while we were in town, we could have easily spent all our time on the back patio or in the hammock of the B&B. Only one warning: because the inn is in an historic building, the ceilings in the doorways are very low - watch your head! I'd love to go back!

A beautiful place and wonderful hosts. The room was amazing with fireplaces in the main area and even in the bathroom. The private hot tubs are a nice bonus to the jacuzzi tubs already in the room. The best part is mini farm they have going on with Chickens, pygmy goats, etc. Super cool and you can't go wrong! If there is a drawback, it's that the location is a little close to the road. You don't see it at the B&B and you don't notice it too much, but you can hear some traffic noise. That noise just doesn't have any place with the zen spirit of Adobe & Pines Inn. Also, they were very pet friendly and our dog was extremely thankful!

What a wonderful place for a get-a-way weekend! Lovely room, great breakfasts and the staff so kind and friendly. Coffee and cookies available in the lobby anytime you get the munchies! The beautiful patios are great to simply sit and listen to the birds sing. The Zen gardens are not only restful but fun and labyrinth is pure meditation! p.s. LOTS of towels and extra pillows which folks don't normally talk about in reviews but SO important! Amenities like that make this Inn one to return to!

Katherine and Louis are great hosts and they have a gorgeous place. We stayed in the room Puerta Azul . This room was a little dark for me so would get a different one next time. We were happy to stay in it though and felt the over-all quality of the room, setting and breakfasts made this stay a very good value. A real gem in Taos!

A friend and I recently spent time at the Adobe & Pines. Louis and Katherine are delightful and go out of their way to make sure that everything is just perfect. We stayed in "Blanca" which proved to be a perfect room for two friends traveling together. There are two full bedrooms, one equally as nice as the other, so we did not even have to draw straws to see who would get the better room. The breakfasts are a real treat, both tasty and beautifully presented. I would highly recommned the Adobe & Pines Inn for your next trip to Taos.

Louis & Katherine created a wonderful and relaxing experience. We felt right at home. This was exactly the rejuvenating and intimate getaway we had hoped for. Looking forward to returning to try some of the other rooms - we stayed in the Rosa Room for 3 nights.

You can't go wrong with the Adobe & Pines Inn. The owners are wonderfully warm and inviting hosts and the facility is absolutely gorgeous.

The people are very friendly and genuine; rooms are spacious and quiet. The New Mexican touches are great. The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are large. Both the bedroom and bathroom could have used a little dusting, but other than that, everything was very clean. Breakfast was really delicious. The "giftbag" the Inn gives you has great things like sunscreen, lipbalm, etc.

As an animal lover I was pleased with the on-site goats and chickens (fresh eggs!) as well as the family dogs and cats. They even have bee hives (fresh honey!) The gourmet breakfasts were delightful, the staff and owner were friendly, chatty, and helpful -- but completely non-intrusive when we were relaxing in the private hot-tub and on our porch. Rooms are spread out over the site in a couple of buildings around a central courtyard, everything is convenient and cozy. Even though the highway is close, the sound is masked by the ample trees, and the thick adobe walls don't allow any noise. We stayed during slack/off season, so the experience was very relaxed and tranquil. I highly recommend this, even though it is a bit of a drive to Taos you get the benefit of being out of the thick of the crowds.

Beautiful location; wonderful hosts; cozy and charming room; beautiful grounds; quiet and peaceful.

The whole experience at Adobe & Pines Inn was amazing! Louis, Katherine, Tracy, Paul and the entire staff were wonderful. We could not have asked for a better experience. We've stayed at numerous B&Bs across the globe and we both declared Adobe & Pines Inn to be the best yet! We will be back very soon!
4.4 on March 18, 2011
The people, environment, and food could not have been better. We will definitely be back sooner versus later. Still cannot get over how wonderful our stay was.

Taos was gorgeous and peaceful, and Adobe & Pines was by far the best part of our trip. Excellent food, wonderful service, beautiful inn.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff was exceptional! We stayed in the Violeta room, and we really like it. It was very homey feeling. We also enjoyed being able to bring our dog with us on this trip. Only complaints we had was that the bed was a bit hard and squeaky. Also the Jacuzzi tub when turned on started spitting out all sorts of black stuff. However, the tub was heavenly as long as you don't turn the jets on. The kiva fire place in the room at night was amazing. Overall we had a good experience and would recommend this B&B, and even visit again our selves.
5 on January 06, 2011
Historic, rustic charm complemented by modern amenities. Add to that the perfect blend of hospitality and professionalism by the hosts. Couldn't have had a better experience...they even treated my dog like royalty. Can not recommend Adobe and Pines Inn highly enough!!
5 on January 03, 2011
Louis and Katherine are extremely friendly. The place is immaculate and the service is awesome. We enjoyed the place, the community and skiing. Louis was a chef so the breakfasts were to die for. I took pictures of the food before I ate. :) I took a lot of pictures of Adobe & Pines because of the labrynth and gardens. It was a great experience and I will be back next year. I highly recommend everyone stay here when they visit (or passing through) Taos.
5 on January 03, 2011
The staff and owners were very kind and made us feel at home immediately. The room that we stayed in was lovely and had a kitchen and personal hot tub, which might come in handy after a long day of snowboarding and shopping. I also found the beautifully landscaped grounds transfixing and could not stop taking pictures. I made friends with one of the resident goats named levi, very cool little Nigerian Dwarf goat, and part dalmatian dog, Pongo. All in all, I really enjoyed staying at the Adobe & Pines and would live there if I could. I will be staying there every time my Fiance and I return to Taos, and hope to someday have our wedding there.

Charming historic adobe accommodations in Taos, NM. Plenty of amenities and the privacy/freedom to make your New Mexico getaway whatever you want it to be.

This was our second stay at Adobe and Pines B&B. We enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere, generous hosts and adorable animals wandering around. A nice soak in the whirlpool tub, a romantic evening by the fire and a filling, delicious breakfast was just what we needed for a quick weekend away from the city. A+

The Adobe and Pines Inn demonstrated wonderful, friendly, and knowledgeable service. The grounds of the property are unique and fun, with places to explore and animals to enjoy. We loved the gourmet breakfast. Our room was well appointed, very clean, and comfortable. The location is fine (with free parking), with just a short drive to the center of town and other points of interest. When in Taos, this is the place we will stay time after time.

The most romantic getaway in New Mexico!!!!
5 on October 15, 2010
This was our first stay and hopefully we will be able to come back many times. The Inn is tucked away in a very peaceful location at the south end of town and made us feel like we were far out in the country. I cannot say enough good things about our gracious hosts. We had a change in plans and asked to stay and extra night. Our room was booked but Katherine found another, larger room, for us and gave us the same rate AND moved our luggage for us while we went site seeing. The rooms are beautiful, each one unique, very clean… perfect in every way. And our breakfasts prepared by Louis were absolutely terrific. I don’t believe you can not find as good a breakfast anywhere in Taos. The grounds are beautiful and the goats and chickens are fun to watch. We thought we wanted to stay close to the city center but we are very thankful we decided to stay here. I think that you will find this, as we did, to be the very best place to stay in Taos and the surrounding area.

We really love A&P, hate to leave after our relaxing stays. We can take our two small dogs (our only children) that we appreciate such a nice place to allow pets. Katherine and Louis make you feel so welcome, and Paul is awesome too - very helpful, and we just love the goats, Bebe, and the hens (fresh eggs for breakfast). We hope K&L continue to give their visitors a memorable experience for many, many years to come. The new Zen and Labryinth are an awesome addition to relaxation and meditation. We'll be back again for sure!

This is a great place to make your HQ when visiting the Taos area. I felt right at home and the grounds were really special, with a zen garden and barnyard menagerie on site. Our suite was very comfortable, and had a great patio area with fire pit, which they even set up for you daily. Breakfasts were good, though I could have done without the dogs in the breakfast room. Pet friendly, needless to say.

We have stayed at a number of B&B’s, mostly on the east coast. All involved great accommodations, service, food, experiences, etc. What we enjoyed at Adobe and Pines Inn was a serious cut above other B&B stays. Going to Taos square, experiencing the history, visiting art galleries, looking at the mountains, eating in great restaurants, touring Taos pueblo, all added to the trip, but we could have had a wonderful vacation doing nothing more than staying at the Inn. Words cannot do the place justice; you have to stay there. Joe and Barb Bass; On the Chuckatuck in Virginia

We love everything about this B&B. It is the only place we stay when we visit Taos. Katherine and Louis (and canines) are always most accommodating and make us feel like family visiting family. Last time we brought our little dog and they made her feel right at home as well. Love it! :)
5 on September 08, 2010
this is such a wonderful B&B. It is so relaxing, and Katherine and Louis pay attention to every detail. We are so thankful friends told us about it, and if you are in the area you should definitely stay there.
5 on September 07, 2010
My husband and I stayed here in November of last year (we procrastinate about everything) and had a very memorable stay. We enjoyed every aspect of our vacation, from the cozy, comfortable room to the delicious breakfast and the friendly, down to earth hospitality of Louis and Katherine. We highly recommend this B&B. While in Taos, be sure to visit the Pueblo.
5 on September 03, 2010
This is a great location in Taos. The landscaping is superior and you forget you are near the city. The facility is also great....clean, total accomodations, very romantic, just unique in every way compared to other bread and breakfasts that we have visited. The one thing that puts this one above every other one is the staff. They are personal, caring, and just go out of their way to take care of your every need...

When we arrived we were met by the staff who helped in getting our luggage to the room. Then we were given a tour of the B&B with a great explanation of the services available. We immediately felt at home. The ambiance is superb. The breakfasts are even better. The Adobe & Pines Inn is our number one place to stay when we visit Taos in the Land of Enchantment.
4.4 on August 20, 2010
We found the service and the inn was always at its best. Very clean with a great breakfast every morning. We very much enjoyed the environment and the pets that are a great part of the inn. We will go back to this inn the next time we are in Taos.

This place is stunning, lovely, and conveniently located. We researched for half a day before choosing the Adobe Pines. There are many to choose from but we chose this because it had all the charm we were looking for at a comparable price to the plaza hotel. We stayed in the 2-level room that has the huge tile bath & private sauna. We were only able to stay for one night, which is a shame. We'd love to stay for a week here. The location is perfect and the hosts were outstanding. We felt like part of the family at first step onto the property. It truly is a lovely experience.

Although it has been a year since our visit, we have fondly remembered our stay at Adobe & Pines. It is a place with the full character of the area, delectable breakfasts and personal, caring service. We give it a hearty "thumbs up".

What a wonderful trip! We had such a great time. The Adobe & Pines Inn is a gem - great staff, wonderful/beautiful grounds, super comfortable rooms, and OUTSTANDING breakfasts. Louis and Katherine (owners) are wonderful people - always available for suggestions, help and friendly conversation. Louis' breakfasts are remarkable - a joy for the eyes, nose and mouth! We can't wait to return. A wonderful stay, from all perspectives.

Kathy and Louis were wonderful--they were helpful and willing to talk, but also gave plenty of room for quiet and privacy. They make beautiful jewelry that is a fraction of the cost for what you would find downtown (believe me, we looked!). The room was charming, with a little patio out on the roof where you could see the mountains and trees. The bathroom was tiled (some of the cracks were beginning to wear--my only complaint). It was the sort of place you could enjoy in its own beauty, and just minutes away from the artistic downtown. The room fit the southwestern setting perfectly, and we enjoyed a romantic time. Be enchanted and stay at Adobe Pines!
4.2 on July 06, 2010
A beautiful property south of Taos. Next to the main road but enclosed in beautiful lawns and gardens. The proprietors were friendly, accommodating, and made us feel at home. Each room is different and has its own charm. While we didn't have a dresser to put away clothes or a bedside lamp, these were little inconveniences compared to the charm and relaxed feel to the inn. Highly recommended.

Adobe & Pines Inn is just as the pictures appear. A truly lovely Inn run by warm and charming owners and employees. The rooms are romantic and quite authentic but with the modern touches that make them comfortable. The grounds are lovely and invite one to just sit awhile and enjoy. Breakfasts are very nice and are beautifully presented. The hosts can help you find an adventureous trip if desired (rafting, horseback riding, fishing, hiking etc.) but we found that just relaxing at the Inn was a perfect getaway. Expect serenity, natural beauty and a true Taos experiance.

First time at the A & P, spent the first night in the Casa Blanca room. Extremely well appointed and comfortable room. Loved the outdoor patio and fire pit. Hot tub fantactic! Second night in Casa Rosa, much more intimate room...! Louie very entertaining, careful...he'll try to get you to do the dishes! A lovely stay in Taos. Highly recommend the Adobe and Pines Inn.

Very friendly place to stay, excellent breakfast, and some of the most beautiful grounds I have ever seen while staying at a B&B. The labyrinth was very special. Walking the grounds after breakfast created a peaceful and grounded start to the day. Also being dog friendly was important to us and they made my dog feel welcome, offering treats and attention.

I had found Adobe Pines online and did not know what to expect. I was taking my mother on her first trip to New Mexico as a birthday present. We were going to Taos and Santa Fe. When we arrived at Adobe Pines we were immediately overtaken with the beauty of the grounds. The air was fragrant from the many types of flowers that were blooming. There was a large variety of birds at the many birdfeeders on the patio, and we were overcome by a sense of serenity and relaxation just from the peaceful surroundings. Then there was the food! Outstanding! The breakfast was a variation of eggs Benedict, but the sauce was a unique creation that was incredibly flavorful and good. The plate was garnished with a variety of fruits and berries laid out in an artistic presentation. The room was wonderful! It was decorated in a traditional Southwestern Motif, and it had every modern comfort that you could want. Our room had a fireplace in the living room and bathroom, a Jacuzzi tub, a small kitchenette, and a private outdoor hot tub. It was cozy and inviting. When talking about everything that we saw and did on our New Mexico trip; my mother said that the highlight of the trip was staying at Adobe Pines, and that she would like to return just to stay there for a few days to relax and enjoy it. We both really enjoyed our stay, and plan on returning to stay there again! Susan Burton Denver Colorado

So enjoyed our stay at Adobe and Pines Inn and will recommend it to our friends and family. Loved our breakfast and especially the extra muffins we were given to take home to share with family. Will have to come back when the flowers are in bloom. Kathy and Louis - Thank you for making us feel welcome and comfortable. Linda and Ivan

This is truly a private, hidden treasure. The owners and their staff are fabulous. Each room is different and all are beautiful examples of the southwest. Raspberry scones for breakfast, and other delicious things as well. We look forward to our return. Adobe and Pines is like a visit with friends.
5 on April 25, 2010
We loved it. Katherine & Louis are wonderful hosts - gave us great restaurant recommendations & allowed us to enjoy their DVD library. Breakfast is fantastic. The Inn is close to town and an easy drive to Ski Taos. We stayed during the winter, so never got a chance to enjoy the Labyrinth Louis built. We highly recommend this B & B. We will definitely return, but this time book one of the rooms with a hot tub.

Great little get away. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. We loved the charming atmosphere and the room was cozy with some nice extras...water bottles, coffee maker, fridge, fireplace. Very clean and breakfast was gourmet. The best place we've stayed in Taos. One little thing that could have been better is that the bed was hard. Would recommend and stay again. Linda & WD

Fabulous and helpful hosts guided us to two great hikes. Also suggested an amazing local restaurant that we never would have found by ourselves. Room was super. Breakfast was gourmet - creative and tasty. We were worried that it was not in the middle of town, but they also shared their "insiders" parking tips and that wasn't an issue at all. Will definitely stay there again!

The owners are gracious. The property is a true rustic getaway with room to relax or explore. The rooms are each unique and reflect various flavors of the Southwest. Breakfast was beautiful, well-presented and pretty but we had expected a tad more in the serving sizes.

We arrived in Taos mid afternoon on Friday February 26; we were greeted by Paul who upgraded our room. He had helped us select some restaurant when I contacted him via phone a few days ahead of our trip. The restaurants he and Louis and Katherine recommended were fantastic. Louis also helped us contact the Forest Service, as we had come to Taos to snowshoe, but had never been to Taos. The room was great, the hospitality was great, the food at the B&B was also fantastic. We would highly recommend Adobe & Pines Inn for a weekend or extended stay. A wonderful snow fell on Sunday morning providing us with great pictures of the grounds. We returned to Albuquerque on Sunday after a wonderful stay.

Wife and I stayed there for our first time over Valentines' Day weekend. This place is very comfortable. We've considered starting our own B&B and Adobe & Pines Inn has many features that I'd consider emulating. (Yes, I took plenty of photos.) The breakfast is excellent and has an artistic flair; a must in Taos. The rooms have brilliant color schemes but still feel cozy. The bed was comfortable and that's saying something because I've had minor back problems lately. Overall, when we return to Taos, we'll stay at Adobe again. We don't feel a need to look around. We're satisfied enough that we'll pay more for this B&B than we would for the local motels.

Our rooms were quaint & cozy with 2 fireplaces, jetted tub, walk-in shower, kitchenette & hot tub enclosed with privacy fencing right outside our door. The gourmet breakfast was wonderful & beautifully presented. I can't wait to visit again during the spring/summer months to take full advantage of the beautiful grounds.

stayed 2 nights and found it just a few miles from Taos. Loved the quiet and privacy. The rooms were comfortable with lots of towles, nice bathrobes and a fireplaces stocked with wood and ready to light. Loved the fireplaces in the bathroom next to the soaking tub. Breakfast with fresh organic eggs and fruit was lovely and filling. Wish I could have stayed longer and would stay again if I came back to this special place in the world.

Not like any other B&B anywhere that we've been. Loved the whole layout of the inn and gardens. Loved the fireplace in the corner (and we used it morning and night). Loved the delux bedding and very comfortable bed. Breakfasts are a work of art on your plate and enough to save some for lunch!

ust returned from a 4-night stay! It was our third time there since August 2008, so obviously my husband and I love it! We love to fly fish and have found the A&P Inn is a great place to rest between trout streams. Very comfy and very stylish! We have actually gotten to stay in four different rooms now, and this last stay was in the Roja, our new favorite! We will definitely be going back and requesting this room again. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention the fabulous breakfast! Whether it's a cheese omelet, eggs benedict, or Belgian waffle it was all delicious and served with fresh seasonal fruit! And did I mention the gourmet coffee? I can't say enough about it. You won't be disappointed.

I stay at a B and B in Taos every October and found this one to be among the best--excellent hosts, lovely grounds, comfortable rooms, fabulous breakfasts. I don't see what more one could ask for! We did have one of the two least expensive rooms and there is quite a jump to the other rooms but they are mostly like suites and are lovely. Our room was comfortable but dark and the other least expensive room had only a half wall separating the toilet from the sink area... stay with a good friend if you book that room. The other more expensive rooms are palatial. The location off the busy highway requires good driving pull out and in skills and has the potential to be noisey but was not. The innkeepers and breakfasts more than make up for these drawbacks. I would definitely stay here again and I NEVER repeat a B and B in Taos!
4.4 on October 20, 2009
Louis and Katherine, the owners of Adobe and Pines B&B, make your stay a very memorable one. We will make their inn the only place we stay in Taos on future visits.
5 on October 15, 2009
We found Adobe and Pines Inn when looking for one night of dog-friendly lodging in Taos. What we discovered was so unique that we couldn't resist a second night. The historic 1830s inn gives one a sense of time transport--the decor in each room is unique and rustic yet luxuriously comfortable. The gourmet breakfasts were delicious and artfully presented. Louis, Katherine and Paul obviously are committed to providing their guests with a superior experience and execute every detail with love and passion. The only negative is that we will never be able to return to Taos unless we are able to stay at the Adobe and Pines Inn.

Great little B&B - only drawback for us was location. Being just off the main highway, we found it difficult sometimes to hear our conversations on our private patio over the constant drone of traffic and emergency vehicles. Our cleaning staff seemed to not know how many people were in our room as there were too few coffee mugs for all of us, there were empty ice cube trays in the freezer and the towels we used for the hot tub disappeared after the first night and were not replaced. To be fair, service was a problem for us at all of the restaurants and many of the other places we visited while in Taos. The only excenption was the Stakeout. Louis did an excellent job with the breakfasts we ate each morning. All the eggs were laid by chickens that live on the property and many of the fruits and veges were plucked directly from the trees/gardens at the B&B. He and Katherine gave many great suggestions on places to visit and other restaurants in the area. In the office, there was a good selection of unusual and the most affordable jewelry we found in Taos, most handmade by Louis and Katherine. Despite the location and room staff service, we will stay at the Adobe & Pines in the future.
4.8 on September 12, 2009
The Innkeepers at Adobe & Pines were generous with information from our first contact via email, then by phone. They helped us to fill our time in Taos with the perfect activities. The rooms were warm and relaxing, with unexpected creative details tucked away. The grounds had all kinds of places designed for relaxing, from a hammock in the shade, to a labyrinth and zen meditation garden, to a little farm with pygmy goats and chickens. The decor is southwestern chic and the breakfasts look and taste like an upscale restaurant, but when served with fun conversation with Katherine and Louis, you feel like part of the family. Our stay concluded with an in-room massage that was fabulous.

I would highly recommend the Adobe & Pines Inn! Quiet, relaxing, cozy, very comfortable! We stayed in the Rojo room and also the Rosa room. The Rojo room was my favorite! It is seperate from the others, is modern with lots of space, and very tastefully decorated. The Rosa room is part of the original building and has the older character, also very nice and nicely decorated. The inn keepers were warm and welcoming. We were served a wonderful gourmet breakfast each morning which was great! Landscaping was beautiful!!

We had a fantastic time there. The room was lovely with a great big tub in the center of our bathroom. The grounds are gorgeous, featuring a labyrinth Louis had just finished. Breakfast was wonderful, as they deliciously accommodated my very difficult special dietary needs. We look forward to staying there again when we're next in the area.

Katherine is really knowledgable about the restaurants and the attractions in the area. The Inn is just the right size (9 rooms, I think), so that there are other guests to meet without the crowd scene at a regular hotel. Adobe & Pines is highly recommended.

What a quiet and peaceful place. We enjoyed our 20th anniversary very much. Bring a bottle of wine, some cheese and grapes. There was a cheesboard, cork screw and glasses in the room. The rooms a comfortable and decorated in a rustic NM style. Lovely!

Adobe & Pines B&B rates a 5 star review. They have an unique knack of making you feel like a part of their home. The breakfasts are gourmet quality! Information is readily available. Directions and suggestions for activities ensure a great time. The B&B is in close proximity to all major scenic sites. They are the best!!!!

We were really please with our choice of place to stay after driving around Taos. We truley picked the best accommodations. Louis and Katherine are awesome!! The room was above our expectation. We had the Blanca room that has the hot tub it was great after a day hike to relax in. If your staying in Taos this is the place to stay the breakfast are incredible and the accomodations are perfect!!

Adobe Pines and Inn exceeded any expectations we had, you have your privacy and yet have a comfy home feeling in the authentic adobe structure. The Inn keepers are very enjoyable and the fine cuisine breakfasts are out of the ordinary.

On a previous trip to Taos I stayed at another B&B in the same price range. While I was satisfied, I found Adobe and Pines to be a cut above the competition in many ways. Everything was top notch and professional. The setting is peaceful and relaxing. The location is convenient. The famous Rancho de Taos Church is just up the street. The Puerta Azul room was clean and inviting. The only drawback for this particular room was no hot tub access like other rooms. The proprietors are friendly and knowledgeable and truly interested in helping to make your Taos experience the best it can be. The breakfast was healthy and satisfying and they accommodated my gluten free diet restrictions with ease. I will be staying here again when I next return to Taos.

Very Warm Greeting by both Catherine & Louie. Paul was the assisant manager and most helpful in every way. Breakfast was a masterpiece presentation and you won't walk away hungry. Helpful in everyway in things to do in the area. They made this place a little piece of heaven with private hot tubs if you wish--watched a shooting star light the sky from the hot tub. Our room was so comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful gardens. You can shop for beautiful jewelry, knives, bracelets and so much more that the owners design and make themselves. All was very reasonably priced. You'll want to leave with something special for memories and we will definitely be back again and again!

We stayed in three B&B's during our trip to New Mexico. Had we only known how wonderful Adobe and Pines was, we would have cancelled the other two venues and stayed there exclusively! Louis, Paul and Kathy really go the extra mile for their guests. We needed to get up extra early for a balloon ride and couldn't figure out how to set the alarm clock in the room, we called Kathy who came right over, unfortunately she couldn't figure it out either but INSISTED (over my feeble objections) that she would get up at 4am to call us on our cell phone to make sure that we got up. Our phone didn't have service so she got up, came all the way across the compound and knocked on our door at 4am! She was cheerful too!! Louis is a fabulous former chef who makes the most wonderful breakfasts and since we were going to miss it because of our balloon ride, presented us with a huge bag of his incredible baked goods. They are all great resources for things to do in the area and their lovely property is well maintained in every way. Finally, if you miss your pets while you are away, you will be delighted with their friendly animals, 2 dogs, 5 cats, 4 goats and chickens roaming the property.

The breakfasts were phenomenal and the hospitality was superb. Louis' cooking as well as his jewelry were outstanding, and Katherine's suggestions for places to see, eat, and hike were terrific...definitely one of my favorite spots!

Very pet friendly. Great places to sit outside or relax in the hammock. Breakfast was out of this world! Both taste and presentation. There were people taking pictures of their breakfast. I definitely would recommend this place to anyone. Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and cozy. We are usually not "bed and breakfast" people, but if we're that way again, will definitely stay there. Everyone was very nice and made you feel very welcome!

5 on May 16, 2009
Lovely property, an old adobe with guest houses and history. Suites are spacious with sunken tubs. Current owners are very friendly and helpful. Louis is a former chef, so the breakfasts were superb. We loved the menagerie of pygmy goats and chickens (not intrusive). Only downside is the location: far enough off Route 68 to be peaceful but a few miles from downtown Taos, so you may get to know the drag well if you don't have occasion to take the roundabouts. On the other hand, you can walk to the St. Francis church pictured by Georgia O'Keefe and Anselm Adams, and there are at least two excellent restaurants in the area.
5 on May 10, 2009
Katherine and Louis are the most gracious, welcoming hosts. My wife and I have stayed here each of the last three years and it has become a stop we woudn't miss - truly a home from home. Peter Kelly.
5 on May 10, 2009
Some surprising features make this place a unique experience. If you like animals and/or bring your pet, prepare for a delightful experience, because on the grounds you'll find the friendliest, cleanest and well-mannered dogs, cats, hens - and four pygmy goats! They don't jump, bark or intimidate - just stand close so you can't avoid petting them! Website photos don't do justice to the rooms - they're extraordinary and extremely well fitted out. Full breakfasts are the envy of restaurants - but that's only if you like things like eggs Benedict with Louis's homemade hollandaise or waffles and sausage with real maple syrup - both presented on Mexican platters with a fruit garnish of pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries - a feast for both the palate and the eyes. Kathie's homemade blueberry and cranberry scones are waiting at your table. Pitchers of fresh orange juice and gourmet coffee are there for the pouring. The Adobe and Pines raises visits to Taos to a whole new dimension, Don't miss it!

Adobe & Pines in Taos is the most incredible place to make your home away from home while visiting Northern New Mexico. The setting is reminiscent of an old Spanish hacienda. The courtyard is open and inviting; welcoming the traveller to curl up with a good book and enjoy a peaceful afternoon relaxing. The rooms are comfortable and cozy; decorated with the furniture and art for which the area is so well known. At night, sink into a wonderful bed and wake well refreshed for another invigorating day. Before you depart for a day's exploration, be sure to enjoy one of Louis' unequalled breakfasts. The presentation on the plate is a work of art in itself, and you will not find fresher, more flavorful eggs anywhere. Our room included a private outdoor hot tub, and after a day of touring, relaxing under the starry sky provided a perfect ending to the evening. As incredible as the facilities at Adobe and Pines are, the real treasures are Katherine, Louis and Paul. As at any inn it is the people who make the difference and the incomparable Innkeepers at Adobe & Pines will make you want to return again for that perfect getaway!

What a wonderful weekend! I get to take the credit for booking this B&B. My wife was extremely pleased with my choice. Katherine and Louis have an absolutely beautiful place. The grounds and our "casita" were well maintained. The private hot tub was an extra bonus that we both enjoyed (especially after a busy day of walking). The breakfasts were amazing. Katherine & Louis work quite well in the kitchen. I highly recommend The Adobe & Pines Inn if staying in Taos.

If you can afford it and don't like the crowded environment of larger hotels and resorts, this is a great place to get away and relax to. The villas are spacious and have all the amenities needed, plus some extras. The pygmy goats, chickens, dogs, and cats that belong to the owners (who live next door to the Inn) have free access to the property and aren't really a bother--in fact, they're rather refreshing and even amusing. The service is great, the staff very nice, and the scenery lovely. Breakfast and snacks are organic and quite filling. The overall atmosphere promotes rest and relaxation. The extras ordered for the wife--champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, roses, and requested in-villa massage were carried out to the letter and made it that much more special for her.

We had a wonderful experience at Adobe and Pines. Unexpectedly it snowed two days while we were there. Our cozy casita was a delightful place to enjoy the views. We were quite warm and cozy as we watched the snow fall. Our own private hot tub was an added bonus. The breakfasts were fabulous and Louis and Katherine couldn't be more gracious and helpful. We found their jewelry to be the best around and did most of our shopping right there. We would definitely return

I can't help it--I keep coming back for the hospitality and Louie's cooking and Katherine's handmade jewelry and the chance to stay up all night burning wood in a real fireplace. Of course there are also the animals to watch and play with and photograph. I have probably stayed here over a dozen times and I have never been disappointed. Feels like home to me!

Wow, we absolutely loved this Inn! Katherine and Louis were gracious, friendly, and knowledeable hosts. Katherine directed us to two mexican restaurants that were unbelievable! She really knows the area and gave us good tips on what to see/where to go. She told us a back way to the ski resort, which was so helpful as we saved a lot of time avoiding the traffic. My husband enjoyed talking football with Louis over the AMAZING breakfasts that Louis created. I am still dreaming of the pumpkin pancakes!! We stayed in the Puerta Violeta and it was a wonderful, private room. Very spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The oversized tub was great after a day of skiing. It was such a comfortable, homey room and we really enjoyed the quiet and privacy of it. It had a private deck which would be lovely when the weather is warmer. I loved all of the animals, especially the cute, friendly goats and Bebe the big, white dog! :) And the grounds were beautiful with many places to sit and enjoy the views. I can't wait to come back in the spring to see the blooming trees and flowers! My husband and I so enjoyed our visit to this Inn and we will be sure to stay here whenever we come to Taos. I would recommend it in a heartbeat! I can't say enough good things about the Inn and Katherine and Louis!

The innkeepers and staff at the Adobe & Pines Inn B&B in Ranchos de Taos, NM were the absolute BEST during our 5 night stay! My son and I have traveled to over 25 countries and stayed in several B&B's and I'll have to say that this was the BEST experience we've had. Louis & Katherine are very accommodating, very pet friendly, gave us great tips on where to eat and answered all our questions above & beyond our expectations. A great place for honeymooners too! Everyone was very nice and the rooms were very clean and well taken care of. Nothing to complain about or improve, we were very happy with our stay there. Thanks so very much! We'll be back for sure!

Great amenities for the price. Room/ suite was separate from other rooms (no connecting) and included large jacuzzi tub, walk in shower, 2 fireplaces, robes, slippers, candles, bath oils, 2 sinks, and more. Breakfast way exceeded expectation. Plates were neatly decorated with fruit and the food was amazing and fancy. Very private local and perfect to quickly get to ski valley. Owner quickly informed us of back road to take to ski valley to avoid the horrible traffic and save time. Any hotel further in town this back road would be out of the way slightly. Local made it easy to quickly get to food in town. Staying in the ski valley would mean either eating only at your hotel or driving into town at night which takes time with the curves at night time. We also had massages which were amazing.

After a crazy wedding week (okay, month), we honeymooned in Taos and Santa Fe, craving some rest and rejuvenation. The Adobe and Pines B&B did not disappoint; in fact, it exceeded our every expectation. We stayed in the huge Puerta Rosa room because of the bathroom, which is essentially a mini-spa (with Roman tub and in-room sauna!), and we took full advantage of it. The breakfasts were sumptuous and delicious, our hosts delightful and easygoing (and gave great dining recommendations), and the location of the B&B made it so easy to get to everything we wanted to see while in Taos. Could not recommend this place more! We WILL be back. Amy & Rodney G., Austin, TX

It's a beautiful cozy place just hidden away from US-68 just a few minutes from downtown historic Taos. The innkeepers are lovely and gives good suggestions for activities. The rooms are very comfortable and the breakfasts are very well done. The innkeepers also happened to be talented jewelry makers and sell their work reasonably priced. The mixed-breed Great Pyrenees named Bebe is a great addition to the lovely inn.

The breakfasts were delicious. The staff very knowledgable about local attractions and restaurants. They were friendly and helpful. We loved the Puerta Turquese with it's private outdoor hot tub, the 2 kiva fireplaces and the kitchen. It was very romantic. We also liked the goats and chickens who roamed around the front yard. They gave the establishment a relaxed and cosy feel. The grounds were well kept. There were many interesting things to buy in the main room. One night we decided to stay in and watched some movies from the large collection there. We will truly recommend this B+B to our friends.

Louis and Katherine are the perfect hosts, friendly, funny, very engaging. We stayed at the Puerta Blanca and loved it. I especially enjoyed my neighbors. You see the B&B is animal friendly and I got to wake up to the chickens, turkeys, and goats each morning from my window. And viewing the Stars from the Hot Tub at night is a must. If you are lucky you will get to try Louis's Very Berry Butterscotch pancakes. I would absolutly stay here again. This is the perfect place for the casual traveler who does not needs lots of fancy fussing over.

We stayed two nights in the Puerta Roja suite on this lovely property just south of Ranchos de Taos. At first, we thought we wanted to stay in Taos Plaza, but after much thought, we booked this room, and are so glad we did. Downtown Taos is very hectic, touristy, crowded, and the traffic flow is terrible. It was so nice to leave that congestion and have a nice, relaxing place out of town. Our suite had a queen bed, leather couch, small kitchen, two fireplaces (very romantic), lots of candles in the bathroom, a two-person whirlpool tub, a walk-in tiled shower, bathrobes, slippers, and places to sit right outside the casita. What more could you ask? The innkeepers were not there our first night and morning, but the staff was very helpful. (She made dinner reservations for us at The Stakeout, which was absolutely fantastic.) The breakfast was good, but the service seemed to take forever. We had mini-muffins, pecan pancakes, a little fruit, juice, and coffee. Breakfast on the second morning was just the opposite of the first morning. The innkeepers had returned, and everything was ready. We had cheese blitzes, sausage, fruit, and the mini muffins. It was a friendlier atmosphere, so we were happy to see it compared favorably to other B & B's in which we have stayed. The only complaint I would have is that it is dog friendly. I should have read the description a bit better. I know that people who travel with pets are very appreciative of this, but my allergy acted up, and I think it was because dogs are allowed in the rooms, and there is no way to get all the dog hair and dander vacuumed. This was an inconvenience, but did not detract from a wonderful stay.

Katherine and Louis are the best and most natural innkeepers that we have ever encountered. From the first contact, my husband and I felt very comfortable and as if we had found good friends. We stayed in Puerta Turquese, which is a stand alone adobe house and very charming - I would just suggest a little brighter lighting for nighttime reading - with a private hot tub for two which we thoroughly enjoyed and was totally luxurious. Even though the inn was fully booked at the time of our stay, the courtyard outside of the room was very private, and Louis and Katherine made us feel like special guests. The breakfasts are decadent, and artfully arranged. The attention to detail is meticulous. We enjoyed our stay at Adobe & Pines, and will be sure to return on our next visit to Taos.

Our family had the BEST time here. Katherine & Louis feel like old friends to us after just spending a few days at their beautiful inn. Though we were unable to bring our own pets with us, we loved that they allowed them, and we enjoyed the brief company of the animals we encountered here or there. Our 2 girls, ages 5 and 10, had the best time in the hot tub. We all enjoyed toasting marshmallows on our patio each night as well. Katherine and Louis provided top-notch breakfast, advice on day-trips, and all-around service. We absolutely hope to return someday. Katherine and Louis have created an absolute treasure there in Taos, and we couldn't be more grateful for the memories of our stay at the Adobe and Pines Inn.

Katherine and Louis are the PERFECT hosts at this comfortable, beautiful and historical B&B. Everyone has their own adobe, beautifully decorated in modern southwest, separate from other guests. There is no worry about being too loud or worrying about others bothering you. Dogs are welcomed and appreciated, which was key for us in deciding on Adobe and Pines. The breakfasts were delicious and the the conversation lively.. I will be back... a thousand times!!!

This was an outstanding place to stay. With one minor issue - the traffic on the main road from Santa Fe to Taos could be heard all night. So, if you are troubled by highway noise, you will need to shut up the windows. They are very animal friendly! They have chickens, turkeys, goats, dogs and cats. The hosts are wonderful and funny! The breakfasts were fantastic! I brought my German Shepherd and when I was out, she stayed in a kennel in our room. But she was able to play with Bebe too! I will come back as the highway noise doesn't bother me, especially since everything else is wonderful!

We stayed at Room Violeta, we did use the hot tub it was nice and relaxing. There DVD collection is great; they have movies that had just come out. Overall great place to stay will stay there next time we visit Taos.

We could not have hoped for a better place to stay! This wonderful B&B is an example of what the best a B&B can offer. There are a number of different sized rooms, smaller ones up to a two bedroom apartment for families. They (we stayed in more than one) were charming, each different and very clean. (With those added perks like specialty herbal shampoo, soaps and lotion) A close eye to detail was paid to every corner of this place and a photograph worth taking. Our hosts, Lou and Katherine were the best of what you would hope to find , friendly, helpful (taking time out of their busy afternoon to place several calls to surrounding restaurants) suggesting places to see, making our stay comfortable. We left feeling as though we made friends. My husband insisted we find a place that served a full breakfast and here we ate fresh waffles one day, and pancakes another, and cheeses omlettes yet another. All with fresh muffins and fruit, juice, and hot coffee. (We often didn't need to eat lunch.) We added a third day because we had extra time and knew we would not find anywhere better than this to relax.

Beautiful place with beautiful grounds and lots of history. The innkeepers were the best, very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were fun and great eating with nice presentation. Great B&B experience.
