Stay at Casa del Toro, Santa Fe NM June 4-12, 2010 My husband and I attended a scientific conference in Santa Fe NM in June, 2010. We stayed in one of the casitas run as Casa del Toro and had a wonderful experience. What a unique and totally “Santa Feian” experience. Our abode was of typical adobe construction with whimsical and authentic construction and decoration. Our location was ideal. The city’s convention center was only a block or so away and every unique church, museum, sculpture, plaza, painting, or gourmet to modest resturant was within walking distance. The staff were friendly and helpful and the chef (she) did remarkable things with the breakfast making it truly Spanish/Mexican/ American fusion fare. If there were dietary needs, she would be willing to accomodate if given advanced notice. We felt well cared for in this very pleasant residential neighborhood. Manager very cordial and accommodating. Gave us a couple options for a room ... very quiet area even though it was easy walking distance to plaza and museums. We had trouble hooking up to internet; manager worked on problem and revisited us until everything was working fine. Santa Fe is easy to get around in; was an easy drive to Bandelier for a day trip. Other hiking trails were within a few miles. Minnesota snowbirds were happy with their 3-day layover.

I was not expecting a house . It was just wonderful having a big refrigerator, dishes, glasses, etc. There were 4 of us & 2 bedrooms & 2 baths worked out perfectly. We were so comfortable here. Everyone associated with the facility were friendly.

We ABSOLUTELY loved Casa Del Toro. We were given a free upgrade, but would have been thrilled even with our original choice. Located close to tourist activities, shopping and museums, yet super-quiet and "away-from-it-all". The cook accomodated our vegan dietary request and prepared one of the most amazing and tasty breakfasts we've ever had. Reasonable prices; nice staff, though they were busy and on the phone when we checked in and out, but still very helpful. Definitely will return when we're next in town!
