My partner and I have stayed at The Wooden Duck several times. Karl is very welcoming and Beth's breakfasts are delicious. The pool and grounds in the summer are very nice and the fireplace and soaking tub in the room are very relaxing. We have recommended it to our friends and will continue to visit.

4.8 out of 5Wonderful stay!
August 27, 2011
We needed to find a nice place to stay in order to meet a work obligation in nearby Blairstown, NJ. We researched options on the web and chose the Wooden Duck....what a delightful B & B. Our hosts were most gracious and accommodating, even to recommending nearby eating places and providing numerous driving directions. Our room (not even the best in the inn) was truly one of the nicest we've expereinced in all of our B & B stays. The setting, along the fringes of a State park was enchanting and we felt relaxed within a half hour of arriving. We're not sure that we will have reason to return to the area---but just might have to make one up!

It's not very easy to find a place to stay in the Sparta-Newton area, but if you are fortunate enough to find the Wooden Duck, you will be pleased. It is a lovely respite and we will recommend it to all.
5 out of 5Great Stay at the Wooden Duck!!!!
July 12, 2011
WE had a wonderful night at the wooden duck. IT is tucked away in the woods and so inviting!! Ben and Karl were warm andaccomodating and absolutely wanted our stay to be just perfect. We were with a group of friends who have been coming to the wooden duck for years so it certainly came as no surprise that everything was as wonderful as they said it would be. OBviously repeat visits speak for themselves!! Would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone. I hope to be back with my family!!

My husband, son & I stayed in the Scoter Room while spending the weekend at the Flourescent Mines. It was wonderful to have a homey room to go back to after a long day. We had prearranged a cheese plate. Since the weather didn't cooperate for a swim in the gorgeous pool, we spent the evening playing board games & watching movies from their stocked game & movie room. It was so quiet & clean. Karl & Beth were extremely hospitable & made sure to include my son directly in conversation. It was a great stay!
