The Neighbour House B&B

  • Inn Details

Listed on the New Jersey Register of Historic Places. Sited on a sloped, broad lawn overlooking West Mill Road and the distant South Branch of the Raritan River, this high-style colonial farmhouse on over 800 acres represents an early and notable example of Greek Revival architecture in rural Morris County. The degrees of detailing and fine workmanship distinguish the historic Neighbour House from other rural farmhouses of the period. Experience the romantic charm of this unique farmhouse featuring original heart-pine floors, pocket doors, folding shutters, eight fireplaces and a sweeping staircase with mahogany bannister. The four spacious bedrooms are tastefully decorated for your comfort and enjoyment. Relax by rocking the afternoon away on the columned porch or linger over tea on the rear bricked veranda. A large living room, dining room, reading room and kitchen are also for your enjoyment. Enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit (in season), juice, homemade bread, cereal, eggs, coffee or tea, highlighted by homemade fresh bread or cinnamon coffee cake served by your gracious hosts. In addition to warm hospitality, charming atmosphere and superior service, we offer any of the following: - Walking, hiking and biking. - Horseback riding lessons at the adjacent farm. - Popular restaurants and live music within 1/2 mile. - Gifts and cards to celebrate guest's birthdays and anniversaries.

This B&B is very clean and is the cheapest place to stay in the area. The innkeepers could not be nicer. The breakfast was worth going back for. They even put the fireplace on for us in the afternoon so that we could drink our wine by it. Breakfast also included a woodburning fire! They called us to let us know we left a coat there and they will hold on to it for us until we can return. Really nice stay!

Enjoyed the area -especially the museums in Morristown. We found Rafi and Iris hospitable and warm. Loved the fireplaces and the openness of the interior and exterior. Look forward to returning soon!
