It was an enjoyable stay in Jersey City. Close to New York via subway which is a plus. For those who are not so interested in the hustle and bustle while visiting New York, this is a place to consider. Service was good and the breakfast was also on par with expectations. Having the opportunity to interact with other guests in a smaller setting makes the trip more interesting. A bed and breakfast with all the amenities required plus attentive staff is something hard to pass up when visiting New York.

As an Innkeeper myself, I was amazed at what Lonnie has done with his property! He has provided everything a business traveler would need, everything a vacationing single or family would need and all in all....this is a gem!!!! My daughter lives in Hoboken, only 10 minutes away so this B&B gives me my own space and yet close enough to get to her house or NYC in no time at all!

Hey Guys, if you're going to visit New York you have to stay at Lonnie Sobel's Bed and Breakfast. I have been there while Sandy the Superstorm hit NY and everything was damaged. We enjoyed our stay at this Bed and Breakfast. Our suite had a wonderful view of New York and the new Freedom Tower. Lonnie was very friendly and helpful and was available to answer questions. Keisha prepared breakfast and was flexible with the menu and very interesting to talk to. It was a 20 minute walk to the Path train into New York City. The Statue of Liberty is closer to the New Jersey side so would recommend taking tour from there. Enjoyed the experience, would visit again.

We stayed for a few days in October 2011. I had messed up on my online reservation and the owner, Lonnie fixed it right away without any hesitation. Upon arriving, we were greeted as if we were visiting long lost relatives. Everyone was so friendly. We stayed one night downstairs and the rest of the time upstairs. The rooms were nice and cozy, just like you would have if you were actually staying with relatives except you had all the wonderful amenities in your room. Breakfast was great each morning because of the yummy cooked food and the wonderful conversations with the inn keepers and other guests staying. All the staff gave us recommendations on sight seeing. On our very first trip to NYC, it was snowing really hard so Lonnie offered to take my husband, my son and I into the city! It was a real treat to be able to drive around in an unfamiliar city with someone that knew the city well. Before we ventured out on our own, Lonnie treated us to pizza at his families favorite pizza place. Lonnie has 2 sons that are my sons age so my son had a fun time getting to know them as well. They even offered to take us trick or treating for Halloween, but we had plans to go the Halloween Parade in NYC. When we make our way back from Reno, NV to New Jersey or NYC, we will be staying here again!!

My husband and I drove up from Texas to celebrate our anniversary, (yes, drove..) and we were given helpful and detailed instructions for our late arrival. We stayed in the king suite and the size was huge, as well as a private bathroom. Ron took care of us all weekend and was so wonderful. He gave us great tips for transit as well as cooks a mean breakfast. Super nice guy, I would stay here again. Easy transit into the city. Great stay all around. Ron is just such a nice guy and we enjoyed all the guests.

Made to feel like "home" while in a new city for us. Beds VERY comfortable, accommodations and amenities PLENTIFUL, the breakfast selection was so varied and the hosts definitely added to the charm! Met some great people (other guests) and shared lots of stories about NJ and NYC attractions. We were extremely grateful for the air conditioning in the rooms, which added greatly to our comfort in the heat-wave. Ron, Lonnie and Keisha were helpful with questions about transportation, PATH and NY subway. Would DEFINITELY stay here next visit! Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of our trip Jersey City B&B!

The 15 minute walk to the PATH train each day helped to exercise off the wonderful breakfasts prepared by Ron and Clarence. They gave us valuable advice on places to see and how to get there. No request was too difficult for them - Ron even installed an air conditioner for us when the room got a bit hot. We stayed for 12 days and enjoyed the comfort and friendliness. Area felt safe - even at night, although we usually got the $5 taxi home when we were home late. The room's printer was excellent as we were able to print out tickets and vouchers from online searches and bookings. A great place to stay.

Lonnie and his 'family' (Jesse, Jonathan, Ron and Clarence) welcomed me into their wonderful home and family with open hearts and arms. I so enjoyed sharing my breakfast time with Jesse and his brother Jonathan. After each long day of sightseeing in New York City and Jersey City, I always looked forward to returning 'home' each evening to my relaxing and comfortable King Room accommodation. I stayed in their suite room with a friend for 8 days for spring break earlier this month. The suite was clean and they change the towels every day. The breakfast is fantastic. It has a computer, printer and free wi-fi for those who prefer using their own laptops. The couch in the living room can seat 10+ people and the bed was more than enough for the two of us. The inn keepers are extremely friendly people. They didn't even mind our taking the food out of the fridges. We had such a great time chatting that we ended up going home with free "Big Apple" posters (the keeper knows the artist who made them)!

Absolutely loved my 5 nights stay here in Feb 2012. I chose this place after reading the positive reviews and so I had high expectations but, Jersey City B&B exceeded those high expectations!!! I was on a specific diet during my stay and Ron accommodated my dietary requirement. I even got a weighing scale to use in my room. Ron even made sure the massage chair was in good woking order so that I could unwind after my long working hours. It was so nice to experience such warm and genuine hospitality. Each one of them - Lonnie, Ron, Clarence, Jessie and Jonathan made my stay very pleasant and memorable. I would love to stay here again, any time. I am from the hospitality background. I know and appreciate the coordinated work that goes behind the scenes to make this possible. Thank you Jersey City B&B team!!!

First time in a bed and breakfast, better than any hotel! The staff Ron, and Clarence, extremely friendly! Ron even walked us to the train station. They make anything you want for breakfast and are willing to help with any problems or questions you have. You really feel like your home when staying here. Travel to the city is easy, only a 10 min walk the train station. Only 2 dollars one way to the city. The price cant be beat. Definitely will be coming back when traveling to New York again. Highly Recommend

We have been traveling for 3 months across America and this has been by far the best accommodation for the entire trip. Ron is very friendly and a great cook! we stayed here for 3 weeks and traveled to and from NYC every single day. the rail station is a walking distance away and the only a 10-15 minute ride into the center of the city! As for getting home, pretty much no matter how late it was we felt safe walking down the main street back to the jersey city B&B!

We will never forget our eventfull trip to Lonnie´s B&B. He invited us to a Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament and also to his own casino game hall. We had a lot of fun with him and his two grandsons. For the great time we´d like to say a big thank you.

I've to make a special recommandatation for Ron. He is an outstanding host, just perfect. Ron you're the best!! The B&B got everything you need. And is clean! We felt ourself at home. 33rd street and Worldtrade center is easy to reach by train, wich is a 10min walk from the B&B. Or couple of min by taxi, wich cost you $5 Its a perfect basecamp to discover new york city.

I stayed here for 4 nights for business and was very pleased. My room had a balcony overlooking the city, a sitting room, bedroom, and bathroom. It's very homey in the sense that there's a pinball game in the foyer, a mattress up against the wall, random toiletries, but I liked that because it was less sterile than a typical hotel room. There are also complimentary sodas, coffee, and all the office supplies you could think of, including a Spanish-English dictionary! The best part of the place is Ron and his wonderful breakfasts. I had the best pancakes I've ever had and he cooks wonderful eggs to order. He couldn't be friendlier or more hospitable. I would definitely stay here again! The only drawback? There's not a whole lot within walking distance, so it's best to stay here if you have a car or you plan to spend your days in Manhattan. Great value!

We stayed there one night and we liked it. Roomkeeper Ron was a nice and kind person. He prepared a nice breakfast in the morning. Also, he drove with us to the nearest train station. Highly recommended.

I had never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before and did not know what to expect. My daughter was going off to college and we were looking for a place to stay for one night. My son did some looking on the internet and came up with this. It was way more than I expected. I had my mom with me too so we stayed in the upstairs unit that was essentially two rooms but has everything you would need for a stay. There was a computer, all the necessities and more with a balcony view. We got up the next day and had breakfast served whatever we wanted. I would highly recommend this place. We even had a parking spot. My visit was back in August so I am just now getting my thoughts down. we have a busy household.

Nestled away in a sleepy neighborhood near Journal Square in Jersey City, New Jersey.  It is only a few short blocks to the PATH trains that will take you to  Manhattan ($5.00 Taxi Fare $2.00/person PATH).  On arrival you find an unassuming "duplex" style townhouse with a gated driveway (parking is available however why you would want to drive in these cities is beyond me).  There are three rooms available for Guests, we stayed in the "King Suite" which is the only room on the main floor.  This "room" is the size of a small apartment, there are two beds, one King Bed (with a beautiful Memory Foam Mattress - perfect for the weary road warrior) and a double bed at the far end.  The room is equipped with a water cooler, small fridge, complimentary beverages, telephone, computer, complimentary wireless Internet (with decent speed,  I might add - too many places advertise Internet only to provide substandard speeds), and as irrelevant as I may view it, two televisions with fully featured digital cable.  There are two other suites available on the third floor, similarly outfitted just a bit smaller.  The second floor is where you will find the kitchen/dining area...  and Ron.  Ron manages the B&B's daily happenings, he is friendly, happy, genuine, and makes a deadly breakfast.  Ron is an invaluable resource for the international traveler, need a shave? Tailor? Shoe Repair? Transit Advice? Ron knows the city and can accommodate almost any request.  Ron is a master of friendly, genuine conversation, always wearing a smile and his heart on his sleeve. Without question the best Bed & Breakfast that I/we have ever had the pleasure of visiting.  My wife and I both look forward to returning.

I could not believe at the low rates we paid for our room that you gave us so much. Having a computer and printer with free Internet in my room was really the icing on the vcake. And to have free sodas in my room was also a pleasant surprise. But all the amenities in the bathroom was what really impressed my wife the most. (Q-tips and soft soap and shower gel and shampoo and conditioner and cups and washcloths and kleenex and hand sanatiozer and mouthwash and etc. The water cooler and microwave and coffee maker were great to have also. You really thought of everything someone needs when they're traveling. And thanks for the ride to the train on that rainy day. That was very kind of you also. We save a great amount of money staying here on our trip to New York. This had a great location. It was only $6.00 to get a cab to catch the ferry to Liberty Isalnd and a short walk to the train. There were lots of places that delivered food to your door. It was a cheap cab ride to eat as well. Not much to do for night time eating and drinking in the surounding blocks. That being said there is tons to do via a cheap cab ride! Jersy City has a lot to offer. Breakfast was wanderful! The food was cooked to order and there were even some snacks around through out the day if were interested. The free internet was a life saved too! All in all we were happy and will stay here again if we revisit the area.

My teenage daughter and I recently stayed at Jersey City BB and it far exceed our expectations. The hosts Ron, Lonnie and Clarence were fantastic. Extremely friendly, catering to all our needs, and truely welcoming us home. The full breakfast was fresh and delicious, plus tea/coffee/soft drinks available all day. The Suite was well equipped with phone & internet. The view of Manhatten skyline lovely at night. Whilst the walk to the PATH was only 10mins, we generally opted for a taxi $6-7 at night. Easy access to Manhatten, and great outlet shopping available at Jersey Garden Mall accessible by PATH and local bus(40mins) from Newark. Would certainly stay here again, and recommend to other Aussies on Tour.

We stayed in the Queen Room. Large room.Huge TV. Weather was unseasonably warm, but our room was always comfortable. Breakfasts were always fabulous. For those celiacs out there, gluten free bread and pancakes were always available. Nice walk to the PATH and short ride to Manhattan. Had everything you wanted and more than you expect! Soda's in the fridge, snacks to take with you for your day and right down to q-tips in the bathroom for you! All the little things they do for you make the difference between being satisfied and being VERY HAPPY that you stayed THERE! Great mornings started with your personal cook making you great stuff(like French Toast, eggs cooked to order, fresh bacon, ALL juices, coffee-more than you could want!...and to top it off? a fresh fruit smoothie before you hit the road. Only a 10 minute walk to the subway, a pinball machine game for a few minutes, a message chair after a days walking in NYC, and all-in-all, the best personal welcome you could ask for. They DO care that YOU are HAPPY. They aim to please you...and they DO! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED-SEARH NO FURTHER!

Wow, everyone was so friendly...the breakfast was huge - probably part of the reason I gained weight on my vacation. We stayed for 5 nights...close by to subway - about a 15 min walk, then another 15 to get into city. I would def stay here next time we get to NY...my only quibble - the room should have had a good through clean - the headboard of the bed was pretty dusty, I dropped a makeup brush that rolled under the bathroom counter and it came out with a pretty good sized dust bunny attached. That would be my only thing - the rooms need a really thorough cleaning/dusting. Linens and towels were clean, kitchen was clean. Thanks everyone and hope to see you again!

Exceptionally ideal location for major New York tourist spots. Very accessible to bus, taxi, and train. Safe and clean were noticeable. Impeccable service and good food were offered on daily basis. Beautifull room expecially on the upper floor. Easy to reach Manhattan. Raphael and Lonnie are very friendly and they feed us more than we can eat every morning! What more can you get for such a cheap price ?

I was there for the World Police and Fire Game at New York and i past 8 days there. It was fabulous to stay there. It past my attend with all the service they offer. Don't be shy to go there, it worth the price.

Went there with my 14 year old daughter from 25 to 30 August, and yes, unfortunately also met Hurricane Irene over there. Directions to the B&B were very clear, about 10 minute walk from the Path station. We had the first floor room with 2 seperate bedrooms and a bathroom. Everything very clean and spacious, tv on both rooms and clean bathroom. Breakfast service was excellent, my daughter really was in Ron's ban, and he made some excellent wafels for her. Had to stay in on Sunday as NYC was closed down due to Hurricane Irene, but with a 300 channel TV, a desktop with internet and wifi access in the room, and the pinball machinee downstairs, the day went by fast. Lonnie even proposed to drive with us to the town to see what was open. We will definitely recommend this inn to friends travelling to NYC, as it is affordable, breakfast is incredible and you are only a 10 minute walk and a 15 (to World Trade Center) of 20 (to 33rd street Penn Station) Path Train ride from the center of town, for only 1.75 USD per ride.

We recently stayed at the Jersey City B&B, and would highly recommend it! Ron, the manager, went above and beyond in making us feel comfortable; our first night there he walked with us from the B&B to Journal Square, pointing out local restaurants and showing us where the PATH station was. From the B&B, it was only a short walk to the station, followed by a few stops on the PATH to get to NYC - very convenient! We would definitely stay here again, for the service, convenience, and clean, comfortable rooms.

My parents and I were nicely surprised how well equiped, clean and comfortable our suite was!!! And the breakfast was extraordinary! French toast, sausages, eggs, fruit, coffee, juice, whatever we could ask for. Lonnie and Ron were extremely friendly and nice! Lonnie drove us to the store, Ron made us breakfast and printed information for us. Our experience at Jersey City was fantastic!!! The Jersey City B&B is a great place--well-stocked rooms with everything need, better service than one gets in most hotels, and a great price. Lonnie guided our lost cabbie to the B&B and then gave us a ride to the train our first day; Ron has helped us with everything we need. My wife and I had a delightful time at this Jersey City B&B. It was a great value, and we both really appreciated all the attention to details by the managment. Also, the breakfast was fantastic! We would definitely visit again, and recommend it highly.

We stayed at the B&B for 11 days in June 2011, and really enjoyed our experience. The B&B is small but comfortable. The room we stayed in had every convenience as stated on the website, and they even installed a second air conditioner in the room during our stay. Lonnie and Ronnie were both very helpful, with Lonnie picking us up from the PATH on our first day and also dropping us off at the PATH when he had a free moment. The breakfast was basic, but sufficient and tasty. We had a few issues with our room, the water dispenser not working and the toilet blocking - but both were dealt with promptly by the owner. The main advantage of the B&B is the cost, it is way cheaper than staying in the city. It's about a 15 minute walk to the PATH which then quickly takes you into the city. After a few long days the walk to and from the PATH was a bit of a drag (in the middle of summer) but generally it was pretty easy. I was worried it wasn't safe, but we didn't have a problem, and on one night we had lots of shopping to carry back, we caught a taxi from the PATH station for about $6.00. The low cost of the B&B allowed us to spend more time in NY than we could have if we chose to stay in the city. We had a great time, the hosts were very helpful when my partner got a throat infection and needed to see a doctor, and made the arrangements. Overall this was a very positive experience, and if we were to visit NY again for an extended stay we'd definitely come back to the B&B.

Great location and value! This is a comfortable B&B. It is not a cookie-cutter B&B or a mini-hotel accommodation. It's more like staying with a relative. Ron prepares a breakfast that rivals any restaurant offering. A great start to a busy day. Sharing this meal with the other guests was truly an enjoyable experience. We met wonderful people from Scotland and Australia. I rated the service as outstanding because Lonnie and Ron are just the nicest people. If you need help, just ask one of them. Should we visit the area again, we will stay at the Jersey City B&B.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our most recent stay at the Jersey City B&B. We're repeat customers having lodged there before two other times. The staff were most accommodating- particularly at breakfast where the breakfast chef prepares almost anything you can imagine (well within the parameters of breakfast food!). Also, the free Wi-Fi was an added benefit. And we'll be back the next time we visit the New York metro area.

My stay there was pure luck and I have to say that I was very lucky to find this place. The bedroom, bathroom and the whole place is very clean and fairly close to public transport to NYC. Outstanding hospitality from the landlord and very helpful innkeeper (Ron). I would definitely recommend it to any visitor to NYC and it will be my first choice when i visit NY again.

I stayed here for 6 nights in late May--just left this morning and got back to Ga a few hours ago. Host was super nice and room was really top notch. Breakfast was fun to chat with other guests. Last 2 days had to travel early so no chatting--other guests still sleeping! Excellent overall. Terrific experience.

This place is convenient, close to Manhattan, clean, friendly and highly recommended. The room we had down stairs was huge. I will be back again in future. All good.

I stayed with my wife from the 8th April to the 13th April for the 3rd time in 2 years and we loved it. The Innkeeper is a fantastic and very knowledgeable guy when it comes to what to see and do in New York and New Jersey and very helpful. He gave us a ride to the train station twice. The room was large and had a king bed and a second room with a queen bed and its own bathroom. It had a small fridge with free sodas, a micro wave and more. It was very comfortable. I highly recommend it.

We took my parents to New york in March and stayed here, service was second to none Lonnie and his staff were fantastic, nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were well laid out, modern, and very comfortable.It is located near the subway so is only a few mins on the subway into Manhatten. I would have no hesitation in recommending Jersey City B&B to anyone. Absolute first class. Well done to Lonnie and the staff.

What can I say without sounding too over the top or overly complimentary; basically nothing, because I can honestly say that the entire experience has exceeded my expectations and one should extend compliments when and where they are due! From the moment of our arrival, we were made to feel comfortable and genuinely welcome, not only accommodated! It did not feel like a hotel, but a visit to the home of a long lost relative that warmly & graciously welcomed us into their home which is something from a time long past. We have Lonnie and Helen and Rafael to thank for this. They ensured that, in addition to some of the old world style and comforts, all the technological amenities are available, reminding you that we're in the present, and not the past. The location is excellent. and very easy to get to the city center. Safe. Quiet. Comfortable. Enchanting. And let me not forget to mention that the prices are very very reasonable considering all of the above. The rooms were very clean, beautiful, nicely designed and very comfortable. I've travelled extensively, and I must say that this has been the nicest surprise to date. I have already started recommending Jersey City's B & B to friends, relatives and colleagues and this is where I will stay in my future visits to the Manhattan area. My wife and I stayed a very enjoyable 4 days at this B & B and we had a wonderful time. We are planning to come back in the future with our kids! There was so many good reviews on this B & B I had my doubts that it would be as nice as the reviews said, but I this is one of those times when the reviews were right on. A friend and I stayed there for the weekend. The rooms were extremely nice, modern, and clean. The owners were beyond friendly, assuring that we had everything we needed. The price was more than reasonable, definitely worth every penny. We were well fed for breakfast, although the food was a little bit cold, when we'd get there. I guess you have to be there as soon as they cook it up. All in all, our trip to New York/New Jersey was amazing, and half of it is all thanks to Jersey City Bed and Breakfast! I would recommend staying there to anyone considering it. I would go back 100%.

I booked this B&B via the internet to save some money while expectantly traveling to Manhattan. I booked it based on the reviews and couldn't have been happier! I was greeted by Rafael who was lovely and so helpful. He helped me with my bags up to my room, drew me a little map for getting back to the train and gave me some helpful tips about which metro passes to buy and so on. The room was so cute, I couldn't have been happier. I had actually stayed at a hotel in Manhattan the night before was was not impressed. The bed at the B&B was very comfortable after long days of shopping and site seeing, the bathroom was very clean, and had everything I needed, there was a desk with a computer and a phone which I never used, I just didn't need to, but it was there for my disposal. There is also a TV with more channels than anyone can watch in a week! The room I had was private and secure, the house is located on a quite street and I came home late from Manhattan, I never felt unsafe. Breakfast was lovely, there was a large assortment to choose from, and the company at the time was wonderful. I am so happy I found this place and decided to stay, I will definatly be returning when I come back to the New York area! Thanks to you all for making my trip comfortable!

My wife couldn't believe all the extra amenities in the bathroom like the Q-tips, shower gel, the large bar of soap, shampoo, mouthwash, paper cups, extra roll of toilet paper, soft soap and hand sanitizer on the sink, kleenex, hair dryer, and so many more things that were all there just to make our stay more pleasurable. You and your staff were so accommodating that we never wanted tio leave. But then your taking us to the train on those two rainy days was the icing on the cake. At the begininng I was concerning about the transportation to NYC but I soon realized that it's very easy to reach the WTC or Times Square, even easier than some Manhattan's places themselves. The Room is outstanding and includes a private living room with a lot of facilities, such a coffee machine, microwave oven... The breakfast is good and the service is friendly. I strongly suggest this place!

We just learned of this wonderful bed and breakfast and were intrigued by all the great reviews and booked a one week stay in December. We were instantly charmed by the comfortable rooms and staff and were even more impressed with the personal computer and printer and excellent breakfast. We were even driven to the path station on 3 occassions which was such a nice surprise. To top it all off the host invited our 2 daughters to his son's birthday party. The girls had a blast and so did we. We will definitely be back again. Thank you Lonnie.

Maybe at one time there was pride in ownership but not any more. Owner is mostly absent and hired staff do all the work. They are friendly enough but we won't stay there again. Hair in the shower, dirty mugs left in our room, pictures put up with push-tacks, dirty light switches, duct tape covering holes, moldy shower, etc. I wonder what happened as I think this place used to be nice. The book in the room talks about a fresh fruit bowl and robes in each room but we never saw that. Breakfast was ordinary with the same thing every day. The lady who looked after the place on the weekend spent the entire breakfast time on the phone so service was poor. I hope the owner is able to get things back on track as we hate to see any B&B in this condition.

My wife, an ex Airline stewardess, and myself, a Retired Airline Pilot, have stayed in more hotels and B & B's than most people. But never one quite like this! For perhaps half the price of the average New York hotel, Landlord Lonnie has carved out something rather special, and we are happy to fully recommend both him and the B & B. Where else having paid a simple B & B rate can you expect your own computer, private phone with free calls to the U.S.A and Canada, an invitation to raid the fridge any time you feel hungry, and to tag along with his family on Manhatten adventures! He restored our faith in the human race!!! Go to it.

Dear Lonnie, I am still smiling from my visit to your Bed and Breakfast on Thursday through yesterday. It is the best (and I meant this sincerely) B&B at which I have stayed in the New York area. Everything was perfect. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated; the amenities are those found in 5 star hotels; the location is safe and an easy commute to Manhattan. But, it is your staff and you who make the B&B home for your guests. I truly was touched by the hospitality of Helen, Rafael, and you. I left yesterday having made friends. That is the greatest blessing a traveler can have.

I have stayed here before. That's why I came back. I do live local (in NJ) and sometimes need a break at a reasonable price and I work in the area. It's clean and safe. Plus Lonnie and Raphel are great hosts! I would love to keep this great place as a little secret to myself (LOL) but I owe it to the JC B& B. It was nice to sit with Lonnie and talk with his sons at breakfast. And a nice breakfast I may add. I'll keep coming back

On leaving Jersey City's only B&B for our next NJ destination, I wished we'd had time to stay longer! Even if Lonnie hadn't happened to be a third cousin once removed of mine(!) I would have been very impressed by the facilities (internet, water cooler, toiletries provided in the room) and the location. The communal, sociable breakfasts are a highlight and a really good way to get ideas about where to go/what to do in NYC and around. All the advantages of New York City except that you are based in Jersey City and gain the advantages of Jersey City too. All the facilities that you would expect in a big city hotel only it is not impersonal. Lonnie and his team - Hellen and Rafael and the boys could not have been friendlier. Everything was there in our room and having use of a computer to keep in touch with home was thoughtful. So many things were provided which were not essential but made us feel that our needs had been fully thought about. For example - a printer and stationery to go with the computer, free drinks in the fridge and a coffee maker. We enjoyed the opportunity of going to the Farmers Market on our way back from a day out in New York and it was only a short journey on the subway to the centre of Manhattan. We were spoilt for choice at breakfast and I loved Rafael's pancakes. This place is unique and I am sure I will be back!

This was my first trip since Paris in May and so the standard was set kind of high. I'm happy to report that this bed-and-breakfast called Jersey City bed-and-breakfast was extremely nice. The host was very hospitable and the location was very close to everything. The rooms were comfortable and the furniture was very nice. to give you a little bit of context, I am the type of tourist who travels frequently and likes to stay in very nice places that are not that expensive. If I can't avoid it, I'll stay in a five-star hotel for full price but I prefer to stay in a boutique type of place which is really nice but not really expensive. Jersey City bed-and-breakfast met and actually exceeded all of my expectations in all areas. I don't get back to the New York City area that frequently but if and when I do, I would most definitely stay there. Five stars!

We, my wife and 8 year old boy, all had a great time at Lonnie's place. They all went out of their way to make sure that we had a fun 10 days at their wonderful bed and breakfast. The King size room was super. Jonathan loved having his own room and we loved our quiet times from him by you having such a spacious room. And thank you so much for taking him to your game room and giving us a free night for vourselves. He said his evening with you and your boys was the most fun time he had in America. Most importantly, thank you and Rafael and Helen so much for your great hospitality.

This B&B is, as advertised, very close to Manhattan but its neighbourhood is not reassuring. Fortunately the taxi ride from the train station to the B&B, in evening, is only a $5.00 fare.

Okay , so we were looking for an affordable b&b, close to nyc. But what we found in Lonnies B&B is really outstanding! A good day starts with a breakfast but a great day starts with YOUR breakfast! Thanks guys, we really enjoyed our time in nyc and nj.

We stayed 12 days in August 2010, and had a great time with Lonnie, Rafael and Hellen. They are very welcoming people and they do their best to make you comfortable. Our daughter thinks that Rafael prepares the best pancakes in America (thus in the world) ! And she may be certainly right... There was free soda, cool water and fruits waiting for us every day after our visit to NYC. The Path station is at walking distance from Jersey's B&B and the area is safe. After reading the review on the website, the Starwars pinball machine, free internet, packed fridge, one mile from NYC, 10 min. walk from path station, I thought 'that's the one'!!! It's all there, all that was listed, the ten minute walk to the station, I've even tested Lonnie the Inn keeper and he really knows 1-10 in Thai ;-) But what's the best about this B&B is that he does almost everything to make you feel at home, to ensure you are having a great time! Whenever he could find the time he spend some with us, dropped us of in NYC and we had a great time in the FAO Schwarz toy store in NY with his boys. His motto is not to run a B&B but to run 'the best B&B' and having seen quite a few I can say without a doubt, this is the best. If one's in doubt choosing beteen a hotel or a B&B when going to New York, Jersey City B&B has about 150 reasons to choose the latter. I for one, am not really a big city person, was in NY 15 years ago and felt like a Dutchman in New York, uneasy and 100% tourist, this visit to Jersey City B&B almost made me think NYC was my second home ;-) Taxi rate from JFK to Jersey City B&B (at 2 A.M) was 98$ Taxi from B&B to Newark was 40$ both were flat rates Walk to the path station is as described on website (10 minutes), walk up to burger king (on your left), take a right and walk 8(?) blocks and you'll see the path station. (you'll see a.o. a subway fastfood on the left). Taxi from path station to mercer street will be 5 bucks. Rooms, top with airco, water cooler, comfy bed and a breakfast (waffles, eggs anyway you want them, meats, milk, orange juice, cereals, etc) which will prepare you for an exhausting NYC day!! Don't even think about a hotel or another B&B in NYC / Jersey City, Jersey City B&B is were you want to start your NYC trip. I used to believe there were only 2 good people on this world, the pope and Santa, now I've added Lonnie to my list ;-) Mike vd D

Looking for accommodation for your Manhattan holiday? Look no further - just click on 'Book It' and you'll be glad you did. My wife and I were taken aback at the high-end pricing of accommodation in Manhattan, not to mention that a lot of rooms in our price range shared bathrooms, which we did not want. After reading reviews about Jersey City B & B and realizing that each room had its own bathroom, we explored further. We decided to take the suite with the 2 rooms and private bathroom for 15 days. It became our home away from home! The Manhattan skyline was impressive from the balcony! Each morning Rafael would cook a nice breakfast - bacon, eggs, waffles, fruit, cold meats and cheeses and the best java cup you could want. Conversing with other guests at breakfast was also enjoyable and brought that 'family' aspect. A 10 minute walk to the PATH train warmed you up for the day's activity - it was an enjoyable walk. A 15 minute train ride to WTC or 33rd St. were perfect launching spots for Manhattan's efficient subway system where your unlimited metro pass went to work. Rafael took us to the ferry one morning just to help out and offered rides to the train if we needed. Very helpful staff! Lonnie was forthcoming with info about places to visit and dine etc. It was more than a room - it was like staying with a family. Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable. Free soda and fruit available at all times. Internet access helped in daily research and large T.V. screen was enjoyable every evening in unwinding from the day's events. Appreciated the staff's forethought in making sure rooms were cool for our arrival back after a hot day. All in all, a fantastic place to stay - would highly recommend it! For the cost you won't find better! I know we'll be back.

What a great deal. WOW! Spectacular and wonderful are only two of the many superlative adjectives I could use to describe this great place with truly special service and unbelievable attention to detail. This B and B really had it all! My wife was flabbergasted by everything provided in the bathroom for free. The bathroom not only had a new large bar of soap upon arrival (where do you ever get that anymore) and Q-tips and mouthwash and shampoo and conditioner and Kleenex and cups, but there was liquid soap and a bottle of hand sanitizer too! We all really felt like we were staying at a 5 Star Hotel, yet the prices were like a two star hotel! What a great bargain!!! We stayed in the Suite for 10 days in June and we all had the time of our lives. We have never stayed at such a wonderful place with such amazing hosts! Our balcony had the most spectacular view of NYC and our room had it all. Not only did we have a computer and Internet, but they even provided free paper for us to print out all the activities we wanted to do every day in the Big Apple. And Rafael, thank you so much for all the great advice you gave us every day on what to do and see. And Lonnie and Rafael and Helen, it was so very kind of you to drive us to the train a few times, even though we also enjoyed the short walk some mornings through your nice neighborhood. You are all really very special people, and now I can verify that all the great reviews I had read before I got here were not only all true, but were really just everyone expressing their thanks and gratitude for making their vacation to Manhattan an experience they will all remember for the rest of their lives! Thank you so much from Joe, Sylvia, and Mary and Thomas too. We can’t make it back next summer, but we will certainly return the summer after that.

We were attracted by the very positive ratings on their own web site & trip advisor & booked the king suite. The promised views of the Manhattan skyline were true, king bed is very comfortable, Italian leather lounge is comfortable & in room computer & printer is good. Wifi connection also worked well. There is a chilled water cooler, microwave, big flat screen TV & a room fridge that tended to have fading spells.The bathroom was a long way from the cleanest we have ever encountered & the towels were pretty drab. Fluff under furniture had been gathering for quite some time. We are amazed at how quiet things are a 20 minute Path ride away from 33rd Street station.We are quick walkers & Journal Square was 12 minutes walk on our best effort. Breakfast is Ok without being notable although we get to choose time & talk to others from the other 2 rooms. There is a pinball machine & a big multi-function massage chair in the common area that seem to be more indulgences of the owner. Outside of breakfast & the welcome we rarely see the owners. Access to tourist info & advice is less than was posted by previous guests of the B&B. In summary the price compared to New York hotels was the saving grace.

Definitely a a good place to stay, specially if you want to go to NYC by metro, since the place is at walking distance from Journal Sq metro station. Overall, I can say we got more than expected. The room is as nice as you see in the website, and the service and breakfast are beyond my expectations. The bed is very big and comfy. We had free soda and coffee in the bedroom, and a very rich meal in the morning, with various options and plenty of it. It is also worth mentioning that Lonnie and Rafael were both very attentive and helpful. The things that we did not like much were that the bed linens and towels were kind of old and the shower did not look that clean. Also, I did not have the best impression of the neighborhood (but that could be a wrong judgment of somebody who doesn't leave in the area). In summary: doubtless, the pros outweigh the cons and I totally recommend the place.

We stayed there last week and I was very surprised by how great the room was and more importantly the service that was provided. The hotel is located just minutes from public transportation and the price was very affordable.

You know these nondescript hotels where people are friendly but also have a distant so-called 'professional' attitude? This is certainly not the case in Lonnie's Bed and Breakfast in New Jersey. Very close to Path station - where you can catch the train to Manhattan which only takes a few minutes - this place feels like a home away from home. Its keeper Lonnie Sobel is one of the nicest, welcoming host we ever met: on our first day he took us to Path Station for a quick introduction of Jersey City and at night he even drove us to Hoboken for dinner. The room we were in was very clean day after day - thanks to Maja - and had a nice solid bed where we could stretch out after a long day in New York City. Lonnie is quite a character: he travelled around the world and has a lot of fun stories. Whether it is about where to get New York's best thin-crust pizzas or one of his first jobs at Max's Kansas City, Lonnie always has something interesting to tell you. And then there is breakfast: we thought one of the nicest things about this B&B is that all guests are at the same table. The result is an interesting talk every morning with people from all different walks of life. Talking about a fresh start every day! If you plan a trip to NYC, whether it is for one night or more, go to Lonnie's. Take our word for it: you won't be sorry! We rate this B&B a firm five stars.

My Sis booked my resevation and I was quite hesitant at first when I heard it was a B&B. My mental picture of B&B is a cheap room with a bunk bed, tiny bathroom with broken showerhead. Grumpy staff that never learned to smile. Well, when I stayed in Jersey City B&B, my mind was blown away. I would rather stay here than a hotel because its so cozy and provides you all the amenities you need and top notch facilities to boot. Whenever you are in NY area, NEVER miss this excellent B&B. Lonnie, the manager is GREAT guy, super nice and very accommodating. it doesnt have dining but its B&B, not B&B&D. Most bang for the buck!

We stayed in this B&B last august for a week, the last week of our holiday in the States. It was extremely clean and comfortable, even in the horrible heat of that week!! We stayed in the suite and LOVED it!! The owner and staff were so nice, the breakfast was excellent and we got all the information and maps and suggestion we needed directly in the B&B. I couldn't have been luckier to have found such a great bed & breakfast! The rooms are clean, cozy and affordable. Staff is amazingly nice. There was an abundance of food for breakfast and all other amenities such as free internet, free phone and free parking just made my stay all that more worth while. And again, the price is right!!, VERY AFFORDABLE! Be sure to check out there website often .... they run $19/night specials which I was fortunate to grab hold of! The house is also close to Journal Square / PATH station (10 minutes walking) which then gets you into downtown Manhattan in 20 minutes via train! Jersey City B&B is a great place to stay and I will definitely return there on my next visit to NJ/NY. I highly recommend the place :)

The location was excellent...just few blocks from Journal Square. I didn't bring my laptop but it was so nice to have a free computer to use and keep in touch. Very comfortable, modern room. Without a doubt the friendliest, cleanest, best maintained and most professionally run hotel and cheap to boot. Could not recommend this hotel enough.

I had looked into the JC B&B before but didn’t book. I live in NJ and do a lot of work in the Jersey City/Hoboken area. I needed a break and wanted to hang out, meet some friends locally and watch some football. The weather was very rainy so I wanted to be right in the area for work the next day. I didn’t want to stay in some high price hotel so I went to the web site I had previous saved for …believe it or not…A Rainy Day (LOL) and was very surprised at the special deal. I immediately jumped at it. I know the rate won’t be like this all the time but it doesn’t matter! It got me there and I WILL come back. I felt at home. Even though I came in on a special rate, at the regular price it was better than the middle of the road brand name hotels in the area! And you where not nickel and dimmed. And there was much more on top of that. I had a couple of small things for breakfast since I was in a rush. But if I had more time I would have really enjoyed it! The spread and the set up was great. Had a nice conversation with Raphael about the area since we were both familiar with it. Raphael and Lonnie were very accommodating. I will be back!!

My wife and I stayed here for only one night and both of us were amazed by quality of service, cleanliness and hospitality. This was our fifth trip to New york and surrounding areas for job interviews and we wished we could stayed here ealier. I strongly recommend that this is an ideal place to live either you are travelling alone or with family.

I had the opportunity to stay at the Jersey City Bed and Breakfast over the Christmas holiday. The rooms were very neat and comfortable. It was also wonderful that parking was not an issue. The breakfast was great, as was the service during breakfast. It was very interesting to meet and converse with people from different countries over breakfast. Jersey City B&B was a great find, and I will definitely stay there again when the need arises.

I found the Jersey's City Bed and Breakfast through the marvels of Google. There were many B&Bs in Manhattan to choose from, but something about this one stood out. Maybe it was all the good reviews that I read, whatever it was that got me here, I'm sure glad it did. I booked a room online and worked perfect. We chose the King size room in the first floor and is amazing the mattress was so good that I couldn't wait to get there and lay down after our long walks in the city. We had the best nights sleep we'd had all vacation. The comfy king size bed was so luxurious with plenty of pillows that we faded quickly to sleep. The huge tv was a great way to relax it has more than 300 channels to choose. The bathroom was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast and chocolates were incredible and I've already recommended my sister stay here and experience this wonderful B&B for herself. Caroline from Germany.

We felt very welcome, Lonnie and Rafa are the best hosts you could imagine. Rafa cares for everything and there is everything in the room you didn´t even know you need! Walking distance to Journal Square was absolutely fine. There is a laundry service nearby and several food deliveries available. Free drinks in the room. The computer with free internet and a printer is fantastic, helped us a lot. Newark airport is just a 15 minutes car drive away. All in all a great stay and we definitely recommend this place!! The Doorstep service was really the icing on the cake. Whoever heard of the Innkeeper going to pick you up from the Train Station. They even had take-out menus in the room with your own bathroom, phone and private number. Great Big TV with "Working Cable AND Movie Channels." They also offered their family's Museum pass, which unfortunately I didn't have the time to make use of. But that's okay, Next time. Because I'll certainly be coming back without a doubt. Would I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY, DEFINITELY. It was also quite nice that there was room to sit around the breakfast table with the other guests. Very large buffet spread for breakfast and if you wanted something else that you didn't see on the table, Raphael would gladly cook it for you any which way you asked him to. And the neighborhood is wonderfully centrally located. Just 15 minutes walk to Journal Square where all the shopping and restaurants are. So it was a First Class Experience.

Lonnie and crew were most helpful and gracious. They helped bring in luggage and helped shovel the 12 inch snow that fell the last night, so we could drive away safely. We made it! We had a wonderful time and would recommend Jersey City B&B highly!

A really unique wonderful place to stay, Unique in that i have never stayed somewhere that is so flexible! The customer really does come first. We missed breakfast one morning (like three girls do after a days shopping in New York) and there was noway these guys were going to see us go hungry! We were told to help ourselves to anything we liked! Its a fantastic location and the guys will he as much help as possible. We even got dropped to the station on our last day. Where on earth do you get that? The help prior to our stay was also wonderful, e-mails direct from Lonnie and Rapheal to ourselves - with information on cost, how far we were from various locations etc. Very honest and useful! For The VERY reasonable price you would not normally expect such comfort, friendliness and quietness! I think its also fair to say that this place would suit any clientelle - old, young, mixed groups etc - mainly due to how flexible the innkeeper is. I think we may have had the smaller room due to dragging our feet. But this was by no means small. A very decent size, with a computer and free wireless. Been a long time since i've seen that in somewhere with B&B prices. The rooms were cleaned throughly every single day. It really was a delight to come back to. My Holiday was made by these guys and i WILL be returning. If your reading the reviews or even thinking about booking do it. You really won't be dissapointed!!!! Have fun!!

We are from Rochester NY and needed a place to stay for our NYC trip after another B&B had a last minute change. We found Jersey City B&B online. We were a little leery about going somewhere we didn't know the location. We got there and it was great. The room was perfect (King room) great bed very comfy. We loved Lonnie and his family they made us feel very welcome and right at home. I would recommend to anyone who goes to NYC/NJ. Very close to public transportation. Loved our stay, we can't say enough. We can't wait to go back.

We spent weeks trying to find available lodging within our budget for a trip to Manhattan and finally found it here. This was not the typical New England style antique-filled, historic home B & B. It was better in so many ways. We were a little wary at first about staying in New Jersey and hassling transportation into the city each day. But no worries. The Path train runs 24 hours/day, and the walk to the train station was fast, easy and safe, even at 1:00 in the morning! On the evening of our arrival, our flight was delayed so we didn't arrive by taxi until 1:30 in the morning...despite the time, Rafael was there to greet us and help with our luggage and this is something you wouldn't find at other B & Bs. We stayed in the King room the first night, and the remainder of our stay in the upstairs Suite. Very comfortable beds, plenty of room to spread out, gorgeous view of NYC skyline from the suite balcony, both for morning sunrise and the city lights at night. Breakfast at the communal dining table was cooked to order, with a variety of choices, and afforded us interesting conversation with Lonnie, the owner, and other guests from Argentina, Utah, and California. One of the nicest touches was having complimentary bottled water and soda in our fridge to take with us for sightseeing each day. Because the inn had no vacancy for our last night in Manhattan, we were able to use the free in-room internet/computer/telephone to make numerous calls and searches for alternative lodging for our final night, at no extra charge. What a lifesaver that was. And when we were ready to check-out, Rafael drove us to the other hotel to drop off our luggage and then took us to the Path train station, saving us the cost of 2 cab rides!! That's amazing service for you!!! We'll definitely be back and highly recommend Jersey City B & B to anyone looking for great service and comfortable lodging at a truly affordable price. I stayed for a week at the end of October and had a very enjoyable time. The room was very neat and nice and contained all sorts of useful extras - internet, iron, fridge, microwave etc -and Rafael and Lonnie were excellent hosts. Unfortunately, I'm not much of an early-morning eater, which was a shame, as the breakfast spread could feed a small army! For anyone wanting to spend their days in New York, but are limited in their budget. the JC B & B is ideal. It's way cheaper than any equivalent in Manhattan and the core of the Big Apple is only a 15-minute subway jorney away from the local PATH station. I'll definitely be back. We stayed 10 days and it was the best deal we ever got at any B and B we ever stayed at. Not only were the rooms clean and comfy, but the breakfast was truly the best we ever had at a B and B. I don't know how you are able to charge such a reasonable rate for the 5 Star quality that you gave us. Thank you Lonnie and Rafael for making our visit with you such a memorable experience. Not only will we be back next year, but we will also be sending many of our friends to you too. And that massage chair was so nice to use every day after our long walks in NYC. What a wonderful first week we had with Lonnie and Raphael at Lonnie's Jersey City B and B. It really is a home away from home. The friendly service you receive from the first moment you meet them, makes you feel so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast was superb, the rooms are so comfortable, with everything you could possibly wish for. Our two boys were able to get on the internet every day and communicate with their friends, all about the amazing sights they were seeing each day. We were often given a lift up to the Path station and then an easy 25 mins into Manhatten by Path train. We used to walk back or catch a cab for about $5.00.It's nice to walk up after breakfast, then you can buy stuff in the shops on the way !! The coffee shop at Journal Square is also nice for a quick pizza, before heading back to the B and B for some nice coffee or tea in your room. We had fresh fruit daily and the fridge was always stocked with cool drinks for the boys. We will definitely stay at Jersey City's B and B again, the boys are already saving. I stayed for more than three months in Lonnies B&B.Before I spent many hours to find a accommodation with affordable room rates.It was impossible.Always it was the same one room for 150-200$ per night.When I found a cheaper accommodation was it always with shared rooms and shared bathrooms.It was a coincidence when I found Lonnies B&B.I wrote him an E-mail and made my reservation.It was the best thing that could happen to me.I was so surprised when I saw my room.There was a tv, a fridge, a micro wave, an iron, a telephone with an own number and answering machine and a computer with internet access and printer.For me it was very helpful to had a computer with printer because I printed out many documents for the english school I visited during this three months.The room was always VERY clean and Beena and Rafael stocked daily my fridge with free soft drinks.Rafael prepared every day a delicious breakfest.When Lonnie was available he gave me many times a ride to the PATH train at the Journal Square.For me it was a second home far away from my home.I like to think back to this time.It was a really nice time with you guys.Thank you very much Lonnie, Beena, Rafael and boys Jessie and Johnesson. Words cannot adequately express my great appreciation for the fine hospitality extended during my recent stay at this B&B. It was my first stay at a B&B, and this host went beyond the call to make it one of my most enjoyable stay. Lonnie was most hospitable, shared not only his time and knowledge of the area, but in a most welcomed way—something I will always remember of this trip. I will definitely look forward to a return. His facilities and staff were great. I just completed a cross Atlantic cruise on the Queen Mary 2 and the rooms at this B&B were larger and better equipped the cabins on the QM2.

Came from Australia and stayed in the king size room and the adjoining room on the 17th and 18th of June 2009. Lonnie (the host) exceed all our expectations with his born and breed knowledge of NJ and NYC. We saw things that we would never otherwise have seen. The accommodation and breakfast were exactly what we wished for. Well done Lonnie and staff, you are doing a fantastic job.

We stayed 8 nights at the beginning of June. Thanks to the great hospitality and service we felt comfy and at home from the first minute we arrived! Rooms were very clean and the beds were of good quality. Breakfast was fabulous and Rafael (host) was always in for an amusing and friendly morning chat. After a refreshing 10min walk you're at the JSQ Path station which takes you directly downtown NYC to the business district or 33rd street. absolutely perfect, from the begining to the end ! The rooms: we slept in the king size room. The king size bed was really comfortable, and the Tvs were really neat: the giant one was realy cool with its hundreds of channels, and the other had english subtitiles, which came really handy for us, foreign tourists. I can't think of anything wrong... really fantastic ! After a full day visiting New York, we couldn't wait to go home to rest in this really welcoming place ! the service was awesome. Everyone was really kind and nice, and made this journey even greater ! Lonnie, Rafael were adorable! The cleanliness was as good as possible. And the breakfast : even better then in hotels. Stayed in the suite for 6 days in June. Clean and quiet room, lots of amenities in the room, fabulous breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, warm welcome. 10 min walk to Path station, approx. 30 min by Path into NY centre. I spent a whole month in this very nice B&B. Both a suite and a double room were excellent and very well equipped! The breakfast was diverse enough so that I did not get tired of it though I ate it 30 days in a row. From the first day I felt welcomed and homey. The room was everytime in perfect condition when I came back to my room, thanks for that Beena! I consider it remarkable that there were no problems of any kind during these 30 days! We stayed 5 days while vacationing for the first time in New York. This was the perfect home away from home and provided a comfortable and quiet place to stay. Drinks, bottled water and fresh fruit was in our room daily. The path train was a very convenient and inexpensive way to get to Manhattan and a 10 minute walk from the B&B. Breakfast each day was well prepared and generous. We were well taken care of and very happy with our stay. We highly recommend Jersey City B&B!

We had a great time at Lonnies place. Breakfast was unbelievable big and tasty. The whole service was perfect, Lonnie did really care about our wellbeing. The perfect place to stay... Our Room (the suite) was spacious and had great features: a pc with internet access, balcony with view on manhattan, big sofa and a really big and comfortable bed. The B&B isn't far away from the path station, 10 minutes walk. We highly recommend it!

We stayed with Lonnie at Jersey City B&B in April 09. What a great place to stay! Everything that you would want or need was available. The room was spacious and very clean with fab extras such as a mini bar full of soft drinks that was stocked daily at no extra charge and fresh fruit. In our room we had a PC with printer and full internet access and full cable for the TV including movies etc. Beena (housekeeping) was fab, she was filling in for the cook when we stayed and did a marvellous job! Her egg concoction was just fab! Housekeeping is daily at the B&B and the standards are second to none, fab job Beena! Lonnie is really helpful and always available for advice and even a ride to the PATH train! This B&B made for the most perfect accommodations on our recent boyfriend/girlfriend visit to NYC. We loved our room on the top floor and felt so taken care of by our hosts Lonnie and Rafael. They had great tips for our subway/path transportation and terrific ideas for places to visit. While Rafa's delicious breakfast prepared us for each day, it was the surprisingly massage chair we especially liked the most. What a treat! Our stay could not have been better nor the location more perfect, we where only 10 mins walking distance from Journal Square, and from there in 10 minutes we arrived at the World Trade Center site. We had a wonderful time at the B&B was very clean and beautifully presented. There were quite a few shops, Cafes, Lounges and restaurants nearby at Journal Square and Grove Street that we really liked! When I wanted to go to Manhattan it was very easy and fast and in the same subway station I took the 33th street sub that leaves me just 6 blocks from Times Square and runs 24hrs. The house made breakfasts were delicious and his knowledge of Manhattan was really helpful. Talking to the other guests was fascinating and was always full of wonderful people coming in&out. They speak fluent Spanish to that was a plus for me, I really felt like home, can’t wait to return!! After those long walks in Manhattan we came back really tired and my wife and I really liked using the free fancy massage chair when we got back to your place. We loved staying at the Jersey B&B. It was just the two of us, but 4 people could have easily stayed in our room (King size). The bed was huge and absolutely fantastic, as was the tv. The room was very clean and was looked after every day. Lovely breakfast. Takes about 40 min. to get to the New York City center.

We enjoyed our stay here very much and while we were driving around the east coast and stayed in other motels we then realized how nice Jersey City B&B is. I took my first flight ever in Dec and was apprehensive about where to book a reasonable room. We found Jersey City Bed & Breakfast and couldn't believe the price. When we arrived Lonnie was so very gracious in sharing tips on the city and even driving us to the train station! The Path train is very cheap and an easy way to get to Manhattan. Tessie was also so sweet and had our breakfast ready for us each morning whenever we asked. The room was so cozy, it honestly felt like staying with family. I usually stay in Manhattan. Once you add the cost of Parking, the cost is just too expensive. I was looking for a alternative and I found an excellent one with this place. I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about a B&B in Jersey City, but after staying here, I'll never go back to the city. The rooms and suites are huge by anyone's standard. I checked in and saw a nice size bedroom and was pretty happy with it. I didn't realize that I had a big living room to go with it as well. I had a private microwave/refrig. The refrig was stocked with different sodas, all included. A coffee making machine, not those little drip ones you see in hotels. TV with so many channels. Not only do you get all this, but it also includes a full breakfast and parking. They are a 10 minute walk to the Train Station that gets you into Manhattan in a matter of minutes. They even have a pinball machine and a incredible massage chair. I will never stay in the city again as long as they are open. Thank you for the hospitality.

The B&B has really good price/comfortability rating. You can't probably find as good place for staying when visiting New York. The host was really helpful! And the breakfasts... Just delicious! Rooms were clean and very well equipped - incl laptop with WiFi for free use! And some free drinks (water, Coca-cola etc) in the fridge. Will definitely recommend the B&B to fellow travellers.

From the moment we were met to the moment we left this B&B with its innkeeper and staff gave us 5 star hotel treatment mixed with hometown hospitality. Lonnie is a gracious host and the breakfast provided by Tessie was delicious and plenty.

Upon arrival, my beautiful girlfriend and I were greeted by the kindest gentleman. Our luggage was quickly hoisted into the back of his car and we were off to what would be a jaw-dropping experience. The first thing my girlfriend said when she saw our room was "Wow, look a that bed!!!" After an entire day of walking around New York and enjoying an incredible night on broadway, we were met by the plush ever so soft magic carpet that awaited us. That bed itself outweighs the cost of forty nights at Lonnie's place!!! There was nothing that this man would not do for us; and we have not even gotten to his wonderful assistant!!!! She made a breakfast like no other and spent time with my girlfriend and I, giving us a feeling of closeness and a friendly atmosphere!!! We stayed in the Suite. This room was so great. We both loved the balcony with the super view of Manhattan and all the extra room in your spacious living room. And your King size bed was so comfortable that we slept like babies every night. You guys thought of everything, from the little things like Q-tips and mouthwash in the bathroom, to free sodas and a robe and iron and ironing board in our room also. YOU ARE BOTH THE BEST. We will recommend all our friends and family to stay with you, and already I know my brother-in-law will be calling you next week for a room sometime in February. They'll only be there for 5 days, but they're fun people just like us. And also, I want to let you know that all those amenities were amazing. Those special coffee packets were some of the best coffee I ever had. And having a microwave and a refrigerator in the room was great for snacks the following day after we got late night Chinese deliveries a couple of nights. And wow, not only did we have a computer with the internet in our room, but you gave us a printer and paper too. And we also loved having a water cooler in our room too! From the time I arrived to the time I left, I felt at home. Just a 10 Minute walk to the Train, I was just 3 stops away from Manhattan. The rooms are big and comfortable. I decided to stay an extra night. I had to change rooms, but they made this as seemless as possible. Breakfast was great. Everything revolved around eggs, but the eggs were prepared differently each of the 3 days I was there. A working Pinball Machine was a added bonus. You are not limited to the 15 to 20 channels most hotel TVs has, but a full package of channels including most Premimum Channels. There is a computer in all of the rooms, so you do not have to bring one if it is not needed. Between Breakfast, Parking and Internet included in the price, it is the best deal I have found in the area. Thank you for the hospitality, Lonnie. I look forward to staying with you soon. J. What else can I say to Lonnie & Tesi but thank you and thank you and thank you for a wonderful vacation. My wife and I are from England and we just spent 10 days at their place. We left there December 23rd. By the time we left we felt like we were part of the family. To start, I just wanted to especially thank Lonnie for offering us rides to the path train many mornings. Although we only took him up on his offer the two days it rained, it was very thoughtful of him to offer. My wife and I are real health fanatics and we just love to walk. It's only a half mile to get to the train and we always got there in ten minutes anyway. And once we arrived in the city we always walk a few extra miles a day besides! And Tesi thanks so much for all those great breakfasts. I love the way you always gave us a nice variety & there was always more then enough so that we were usually full till dinnertime. And everything was so immaculately clean all the time that it really made us feel at home because we keep our house in England very clean so your super cleaning lady everyday really made us very happy. And what a great value you are for the money. I see now why you won that award for best value at Bed and Breakfast for 2008-2009. And that three thousand dollar massage chair was absolutely unbelievable. It was so nice of you to let us use it every night after our long walks in the city. What else can I say? You are two wonderful people who really enjoy sharing your wealth of knowledge and your beautiful newly renovated home with everyone, and you thus made our visit to the United States one of our most memorable trips we have ever had. we had chosen Jersey City's BB as the first place to stay in the States. We were surprised to discover a clean and comfortable Suite for the four of us. We stayed here for 6 nights from 25 Oct to 31 Oct 2008. Lonnie and Tesi offer a very warm welcome. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Our "room" was actually 2 rooms, a bedroom with a king sized bed & a TV with cable. The other was a family room where our son slept. This room has a PC and printer with all the stationary anyone would require. There was a fridge which had complimentary drinks replenished daily, a coffee /tea machine, a microwave and another TV. Not least, this room offers an unrivaled view of Manhattan. Lonnie offered to drive us to the Path Train Station at Journal Square every morning. Tesi cooks breakfast every morning, at a time of your choice. Her food is delicious and she is great company. We thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to New York City. We won't consider staying anywhere else when we come back to New York on holiday. We had been in NY for many times and stayed in different hotels. Frankly this is the best place we had ever stayed in New York [close]. It is very close to Manhattan, within 10-15 minutes by train, so location is perfect. The rooms are very comfortable [if you dont have your own computer + printer don't mind you have it in your room with free internet], clean and you feel your self in your house. The inn keepars are very freindly, helpful and respectful people. If you go to New York or New Jersey, we can surely recommend to all new guests to this place. We are a family with two youngsters of 12 and 16 and we found it to exceed all our expectations. It was perfect, extremely serviceminded and nice hosts, clean, strategic location, only 10 minutes with Pathtrain to Manhattan, on the way to Newark airport. We can truly recommend this for anybody that doens't absolutely need to have a lodging in Manhattan.

Stayed there in January with my family and it is the most friendly place I have ever stayed in. The keepers are lovely and very helpful. Everything is clean and nice. It is a real gem.

Everything about this place was great. It was especially nice to have our own laptop with internet right in our room. Lonnie and Tessie we're fantastic hosts. Tessie made great breakfasts and Lonnie even drove us to the train station several times in his own car. We were there for 5 nights and it felt less like a B&B and more like staying with friends. We stayed here after staying 2 days at a hotel in a nearby city. We paid more at the hotel for a lot less ammenities. Getting into NYC was so much easier and a lot faster from Lonnie's place compared to the hotel. The breakfasts were plentiful and outstanding. I waited until 1pm to eat lunch, even though I had breakfast at 7:30am. I probably could have waited even longer. The bed was so comfortable and I had the best nights sleep of my short stay in the NYC area. Lonnie picked us up from the train station and brought us back when we went into NYC. He also brought us back the morning of our departure. The rooms were stocked with refreshements and plenty of fruit. I enjoyed the very plush bathrobe too. I visited NYC alone and stayed 8 nights at B&B. It was like beeing at home. Warm and friendly atmosphare and the room was as big as a small apartment. Reasonable prices, free Internet access, fridge, microwave and, of course, TV. Nice people who really made great efforts to let you feel comfortable. Loonie gave me a ride each morning to the station and Tessie always made a fanciful breakfast. I also liked the talks at the breakfast table and I did not feel like beeing on my own. It just takes you 20 minutes by train to Manhattan and the train goes until midnight (and starts again at 5.00 a.m.) Even to walk from the station to the B&B in the evenings, I felt save all the time.
