Apple Valley Inn

My daughter's bridal party, her brother, and myself were fortunate to stay at the Apple Valley Inn on the weekend of Hurricane Irene. Lauren and Leigh went beyond the call of duty to help us with the changes that had to be made in plans and extended their hospitality for another day so we could return to our destinations with less stress. My room was beautifully furnished and the whole inn is very well decorated. Breakfast was delicious, the candy shoppe---yum!

I got married during Hurricane Irene and stayed at the Apple Valley Inn. We had a FABULOUS time! Lauren and Leigh were soooooo great! We got our favors from their Candy Apple Shoppe and they were delicious! The rooms are all so comfortable and spacious and Lauren and Leigh were kind enough to let us stay another night after the storm. I couldn't have asked for anything more!

Leigh and Lauren are the best hosts you will find anywhere. No concern is too small. Extremely accomdating. Very comfortable place to be anytime of year. Don't miss the chance to spend some time with these charming ladies and their great inn

After stopping in and talking to the owners, we felt like we want to stay. Well it took almost a year before we made it back to stay! We have such a great weekend that we are now heading up back for a second stay.. Wow is all we kept saying the first night Harold and Alice Stone Belford NJ

The hosts were very hospitable. The rooms are immaculate and the food is beyond this world. Also the chocolate is delicious!!

The Apple Valley Inn is a superb place to relax, rest, and have fun. The rooms are magnificent and meticulously clean. It is conveniently located in the heart of Sussex County where there is just so much to do. I have enjoyed casual and fine dining, snow shoeing, kayaking, and hiking the most beautiful Appalachian Trial and so much more. Lauren and Leigh respect your privacy, yet seem to be able to embrace you with their gracious hospitality. I feel like family and it is my home away from home. PS. My husband and I visit the Apple Valley Inn Bed and Breakfast in Glenwood, NJ as many times as we can. I absolutely love going there. Leah and Lauren are so great. They open up their home to us as if we are part of their family. The rooms are great with fireplaces in everyone! The breakfast is to die for, from blueberry pancakes to omelets and let's not forget about the homemade apple crisp and breads served warm! If you can't decide on what to do for the day Lauren and Leah have such great ideas for you. We loved every suggestion they have given us. To top off the beautifu Inn and landscape they have their own "Candy Apple Shoppe" that they run on the property. If you go there you must have one of their candied apples!!! They are the best we have ever had! There are several other great things in the candy shop. I just love to go in there and look around. You can find very unique gifts there. Before we leave we always go to the shop and get something for the ride home. The only thing left for me to say is please go and experience the Inn and the hospitality of Lauren and Leah yourself. I promise you will be so glad you did.

I came here with my girlfriend with the intent of proposing to her and everything worked out perfectly and I couldn't have asked for a better setting on Valentine's Day. The inn is beautifully kept as well as the land on the inn's property. The innkeepers (Lauren and Leigh) are two of the nicest people I have ever met. They go out of your way to make sure you are comfortable in every way. All the restaurants they recommended to us were fantastic and they also gave us directions and offered to make reservations for us as well. The breakfasts each monrning they cooked were unique and great tasting...definitely how a country breakfast should be. Their Candy Apple Shop that they run next door to the inn is excellent...there candy apples will rival the best out there. When I ran over an opposum in the road I damaged my car and had to bring my car to a mechanic. They recommended an honest mechanic a few minutes away and even scheduled the appointment for me. Also they offered to drive me to and from the place so we didn't have to wait for the car even though I declined knowing that the damage wasn't that bad and it wouldn't take long. I consider myself a pretty critical person but I cannot find one thing wrong with this place. There is not enough good things I can say about the Apple Valley Inn. Lauren and Leigh being the innkeepers at this wonderfully renovated inn and their candy apple shop are a winning combination.

This B&B is just perfect. It is a charming inn, tastefully decorated and well maintained inside and out. The room was impeccable, the breakfast is "to die for" and you will feel like you are a part of the innkeepers family from the moment you walk in! Lauren and Leigh's warmth and kindness are genuine. They are very helpful and accommodating. They even supplied bug spray for our walk on the Appalachian Trail which is only 9/10 of a mile away. Suggestions and directions for activities and food are at your fingertips with Lauren and Leigh as your hosts. This inn is hard to top!

We've stayed there before and are going back again next week. We love it there!

We went to visit our children in camp nearby this past weekend (7/09). Oh my goodness, are you in for a treat. An historic inn (1800's) with all the unencumbered elegance and grace of the period. Each room is gorgeous and tastefully done. When you enter the inn, you are greeted by Laura and Leigh, the real prizes...the owners cater to your every need yet do not impose ..the rooms are immaculate and the breakfast is drop dead fabulous. On our weekend, we had homemade apple walnut cake to die for, eggs, french toast, bacon and coffee. All you feel is utter tranquility especially when you sit outside. And, you can not beat the price. If you go, eat in the deli down the road and enjoy dinner at the Sussex Inn. Absolutely terrif and beyond all our expectations. Can't wait to return.

We recently stayed at the Apple Valley Inn and enjoyed every minute of it. Lauren and Leigh are incredibly nice and the perfect hosts. Our room was very comfortable, spacious and spotless. Their movie library is amazing and the food was impeccable. Their candy shop was fantastic as well. They were also really helpful at suggesting restaurants to try and things to do around the area. We would definitely stay there again!!

My husband and I stayed at the Apple Valley Inn to celebrate my 50th birthday and we had a fabulous week-end. The Inn is beautiful and the owners Lauren and Leigh make you feel like a treasured guest in their home. We enjoyed apple picking at a farm nearby, attended the Sterling Forest Renaissance Faire, had two fabulous dinners out (restaurants recommended by Lauren & Leigh). The Inn itself is so cozy, comfortable and immaculate. The Candy Shoppe on the premises is a treat in itself. You will never, ever regret a visit to the Apple Valley Inn. We plan a return visit this summer.

My fiance and I stayed here for my birthday in February of this year. The place is beautiful. Our room had its on fireplace, and we had movies to watch on TV. The breakfast was very filling, and they also had a sweet shoppe on the premises where you could get your treats to take home. My fiance decided to have something special for me, so he had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room for the night. They also did turn down which was really sweet and cool. This would definitely be a place I would refer people to if they will be in the area.

As B&B's go, I'd like to say that Apple Valley sets the standard, but there's not an easy shot that even the best ones out there can meet this Inn's standards. It's always been above and beyond expectations. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and the breakfasts keep getting better. The grounds are immaculate and the setting from a 500 yard radius is straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting in any season. The Candy Apple Shoppe right on premises is literally the icing on the cake. Lauren and Leigh are more than Innkeepers, they truly treat you like family, and you feel exactly the same way towards them. This place for me is my Walden Pond. From relaxing on the front porch in a rocker, to sitting by the rolling creek on site in a comfortable Adirondack chair or gazebo swing. This Inn is located at the intersection of Peace and Tranquility. It will always be our favorite. Fred and Naomi Weiner

This is the finest B&B my family and I have ever experienced. The Innkeepers were so warm and made us feel at home the moment we arrived. The home is beautifully appointed with all the creature comforts, without spoiling it's colonial charm. The breakfast with home baked sweets was wonderful! The Candy Apple Shoppe, right on the premises was delightful and we did a good deal of our holiday shopping there. We can't wait to go back. The fall foliage must be beautiful.

We stayed a Saturday evening(a one night stay is hard to come by!) and had a really wonderful time. Lauren and Leigh were so warm and welcoming(and not at all intrusive) and very willing to give ideas for supper & activities. We had a great stay and plan on returning soon! Kristin & Mike

This is the first bnb for my husband and I. It was just so much more than either of us expected. Lauren and Leigh are such comfortable people to be around. They are gracious and so accommodating. They bring a terrific feeling for cozy. BREAKFAST WAS FABULOUS!!!

We visited the Apple Valley in 2 times in less than a month this summer and are looking forward to our next visit already! Lauren & Leigh are simply wonderful - they are so kind & helpful. The rooms are cozy & unique. The breakfasts are divine. This is a special place that can not be topped!

My boyfriend and I stayed for the July 4th weekend and had an absolutely lovely stay. We stayed in the Granny Smith room which is tastefully and comfortably decorated. The Innkeepers were so friendly and helpful in making our stay enjoyable, always ready to offer suggestions for restaurants and things to do in the area. And the breakfasts were delicious. I love good food, and they definitely serve up a satisfying meal that will have your mouth watering. And most delightfully for chocolate lovers like me, the Innkeepers also run a candy/handmade chocolate shop in a small building right next to the Inn.

Lauren and Leigh make this Inn a wonderful place to stay. Its like coming to spend the summer with your favorite aunts. My husband and I love every minute of it. This will always be our place, and the candy shop it wonderful too.

We just got back from another wonderful weekend at Lauren and Lee's Apple Valley Inn. The breakfasts were great!!!! The room was so beautiful and comfortable. What makes it so special to stay there is Lauren and Lee. They make you feel like their home is your home. They are so helpful with anything you need. To top it off they have a candy shop right on their that they have the most outstanding candy apples....home made by them!!! You haven't had a candy apple until you have had theirs....and they ship them to!!!!! I could go on and on about our stay at the Inn. We can't wait till we can go up and visit again. If you are in the area looking for a place to stay stop in and visit with Lee and Lauren. You will be so glad you did.

The Innkeepers Lauren and Leigh were the friendliest people I have met in a while.They made me and my husband feel so comfortable.The food was better than Moms(that poppy seed muffin was my favorite). It has been almost 8 months since I have been there and now i am already making plans to go back. I just go there to go there.The rooms are so clean and comfortable.It is just so relaxing. We wish we could have stayed longer, and we are definitely going back. The innkeepers have a knack for details and know what people are looking for, in general, as well as reading each guest to accomodate him/her individually. They recommended a great restaurant, that was exactly what we were looking for, and they provided details on other interesting aspects of the area for future trips.

Key Details are many: The warmth of the innkeepers, the coziness, the attentiveness of the Lauren and Leigh, the breakfasts are outrageous, cleanliness is impeccable, the decor... AVI is the place to stay. My daughter and I love AVI. It is our home away from home.

Lauren and Leigh make staying at the Apple Valley Inn such a wonderful experience. They make you feel like family (in a good way!).Each room is unique and the Candy Apple Shoppe is full of wonderful gifts and treats. We highly recommend for a weekend or a week.

We just returned from a long weekend at the Apple Valley Inn. It was a truly delightful experience. Lauren & Leigh (the Innkeepers) are friendly, helpful, and tremendously accommodating. The Inn has a warm, cozy (and very clean) atmosphere, one in which a guest is immediately comfortable. I would highly recommend the Apple Valley Inn to anyone interested in staying in the area.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Apple Valley Inn. My wife and I found it diificult to leave. The owner's, Lauren and Leigh make you feel like you are part of their family. Breakfast was a gourmet treat only overshadowed by their warm personalities as they attended to our every need. The Apple Valley Inn offers a relaxing atmosphere in a beautiful country setting. It is not a Bed and Breakfast to be missed.

Perfection...if there is such a thing ...is at AppleValley Inn. From the moment you walk through the door until you climb upon a bed of clouds to sleep you will truly feel like you have found a slice of Heaven....and then, if just having Lauren and Legh share their beautiful Inn with us wasn't enough (we truly felt honored), a delicious homecooked breakfast was the perfect start of our day!

I have stayed at the inn twice and I am returning again this Spring. The location and the house is idyllic and charming. I never got a better nights sleep in my life. The inn is authentic and homey and Leigh and Lauren are the best B&B hosts I have ever met. They were there in every way possible and yet I felt a total sense of privacy in the room, the house and on the grounds. This is the place to stay if heading through Northern New Jersey and a place to visit for a romantic getaway.

This place was great. It was very hospitable and we enjoyed it very much! Lauren and Leigh made us feel very welcome!
