The Mission Inn A Bed & Breakfast

I can't say enough about the Mission Inn, Susan & Raymond run a great B & B. From the wonderful rooms to the common room with places to gather to the food, it is all fantastic! This was our second and certainly not last visit to the Inn. You might not think a southwest style Inn fits with Cape May, but open yourself up to life beyond the Victorian B & Bs. The Inn provides so much from beach chairs & umbrellas to bikes or DVDs & books from days away from the beach. Susan can suggest where to eat, what to see, and where to find that special item you've been shopping for to take home with you. The only thing I can say against the Inn is we can't get there enough (& that's our fault not theirs)!

My husband and I went to the Mission Inn to celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary. Once we walked thru the front door and meet Susan & Ray we knew how wonderful our night would be. The Inn is absolutly beautiful with a warm feeling. We will definitly return.

My wife and I just returned from an overnight stay at the Mission Inn for our 32nd anniversary. It is just outstanding in every way. From Susan's welcome at the front door as we arrived, to the superb rooms, to the wonderful breakfast we were treated like family and made to feel so welcome in her home. The decor of the Inn is beautiful with a different mission depicted in each room. We stayed in the Santa Clara and it was wonderful with a great shower and an in-room jacuzzi. The little things really added to the experience, like the great afternoon appetizers in the sun room on the side, and the coffee, tea, and other beverages available throughout the day. I especially liked the port when we arrived back from dinner. The breakfast the next morning was great. Possibly the best omelet I have ever eaten, and I still can't believe Susan remembers all of the juices she offers. There must be around 10 to select from. Susan, and her husband Ray have created a great place to visit, explore, and relax. Every review we read prior to our visit was spot on. Our only regret is that our visit was only one day. We plan to rectify that on our next visit! Thank you Susan and Ray for a great visit.

The wife and I took a little trip to Cape May for our 26th anniversary. We booked a night at the Mission Inn. Our host, Susan, greeted us as we pulled up and made us feel at home the entire time. She was very helpful in suggesting a restaurant to go to that evening. She put out a tasty late afternoon snack for us, complete with wine and other beverages. Breakfast was excellent and very filling. We look forward to returning for a longer visit.

Stayed at The Mission during Valentine weekend. Hosts were amazing, the Inn was amazing. As soon as we arrived Susan geeted us, gave us a tour, explained everything clearly and in great detail. The "family room" has a refrigerator available for your personal storage AND all kinds of beverages for the guests, including beer, wine, soda, fresh juice & water. Late afternoon appetizers are set out on the counter. You could make a meal of these. At nite fresh baked cookies are on the counter. Breakfasts were exceptional. Presentation and quality were top notch. The hosts are well acquainted with local attractions and will make all of your reservations, make inquiring phone calls and offer suggestions of their favorite places to visit and eat. We plan on returning this Fall. We have stayed in B&Bs all across the country and rate this Inn in the top 3 of our choices. You will not be disappointed. Ray & Kathy

Ray and Susan are the perfect host,making you feel at home as soon as you walk through the door,the warmth and coziness of the inn is wonderful,the rooms are just what you would want for a fun and relaxing weekend,and the food is delicious,I would highly recommend the mission in to anyone looking for a weekend getaway,we are both looking forward to our next trip.

We were here for out first anniversary and we loved the whole experience. Susan and Ray were charming and friendly. The love they put into everything from the decor to the appetizers to the conversation was terrific. We felt very relaxed and welcomed. I called ahead and had roses delivered and Susan was very helpful to make sure they were in the room waiting for my love. A true gem. Don't let this wonderful experience pass you by. Lori

The fiancée and I stayed at The Mission Inn this past weekend. We were visiting Cape May for the first time with hopes of learning a bit about the area before committing to a full-on move this summer. The Mission Inn is beautiful. There are large common areas downstairs which include: an entrance room sitting area with fireplace; a side room (den) replete with a fridge full of complimentary wine, soda, and fresh appetizers in the afternoon; and a large dining room for breakfast. Susan and Ray have made many modern improvements to the Inn. We stayed in the San Francisco de Asís room. You can get a feel for the room from the pics on their website but when you are standing in the room itself, it is quite an improved experience. The deep jacuzzi tub sports soothing jet streams and bath salts. The bathroom's shower is large and has six different settings that include four low, knoblike shower heads that align to specific upper or lower back muscles. The recessed, electric fireplace is a nice touch that has two settings: "heat" and "just for aesthetics." Take a few steps on the soft, fluffy rug with bare feet and you’ll think twice before collapsing onto the king sized bed. But then again, that mattress topper is tough to beat when your whole body sinks into it. Here's an interesting detail: when you turn the fan on low at night, switch on the desk lamp and the sky painting on the ceiling turns into ocean waves. It's quite tranquil. Susan is also a font of knowledge and can help you with any questions you may have about anything Cape May related. Susan and Ray take pride in their home and their hospitality translates to a happy visit for all who enter. We only stayed for one night and we had a lot to do in just under 24 hours, but the time that we spent at The Mission Inn made us feel at home. Oh, and breakfast was creative, delicious, and tailored to our individual tastes.

Another quickie, one-night in Cape May, proved to be outstanding at the Mission Inn B&B! Susan & Ray treat you, with honored guest status, throughout your stay.Relaxed atmosphere, exceptional afternoon treats, wonderful common areas, plenty of extras for your buck. It is a very impressive retreat for couples to unwind and discover a unique settings, in tastefully appointed bedrooms. Breakfast has an incredibly distinctive and delicious flair on comfort-food. Pampered hospitality exudes from every aspect of the Mission Inn.

My wife and I decided to go back to our favorite Cape May Inn for our 25 year anniversary. We had stayed at The Mission Inn once before and loved it. It was February at the shore and while it was freezing cold outside the warmth of the beautifully appointed MIssion Inn kept us cozy and happy. Susan, Ray and their staff were welcoming and we wanted for nothing. The room, which we were upgraded to was fantastic. A warm fireplace, fully appointed bathroom with two person jacuzzi tub and shower kept us very happy. The beautiful artwork that decorates all the rooms and most of the Inn(including stained glass windows) is so much fun to look at and admire and made my wife very happy. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding and served with total attention to detail by Susan and her staff. My wife and I cannot recommend The Mission Inn more highly and we will certainly be back as soon as we can. Greg Landes

I don't throw 'Outstanding' around lightly, after all, how can you improve on that? However, that's where I ended my train of thought, how can you improve on the comfort, the hospitality and the quality of food on offer at the Mission Inn? Susan and Ray offer their guests a uniquely personal service and clearly take great pride in their work. We'll be back... soon.

The Mission Inn is the perfect place to stay in Cape May. Susan and Ray are gracious innkeepers and they have an outstanding staff. The inn is warm, cozy, and inviting. It's a pleasure to relax and enjoy space in the common areas. The Christmas decorations were exquisite. We were first time visitors travelling with friends who had been there several times. We were very pleased with the entire weekend and would strongly recommend The Mission Inn.

We were looking for something special for our 20th anniversary celebration and we found it!The Mission Inn!It is not your "Victorian" style Cape May B&B which was so refreshing.We stayed in lovely room on first floor,loaded with all the amentities..2 person Jacuzzi& shower,king size bed,fireplace...the most comfortable mattress ever(on my Christmas list) drinks&snacks in PM and a full fridge with baked goods and the breakfast was delicious!The hosts and staff were wonderful.We really felt at home.This is one not to miss!

We have been staying at the Mission Inn on Cape May since 2002. At the Inn, the proprietors, Susan & Ray Robers and their staff, never fail to provide the best and most personal service of any inn we have visited. This excellent service brings in guests of high personability and friendliness. And yet, the atmosphere provides one with privacy or friendly interaction, whichever a guest prefers.

I have been vacationing in cape may for 20 years rentig a house or staying at a motel. I have taken the b&b tours but none fit my bill. Several years ago when roaming around capemay.com I saw The Mission Inn. I like the fact that it was not in the Victorian style. We planned a long weekend and had the best experience - making you feel like family, but giving you your space that you felt like friends of the family. The experience is totally luxurious but not over the top. The breakfast is my favorite meal and Leslie does not disappoint - the food so fresh and creative! Susan and Ray take care of you and want you to enjoy your stay with them AND in Cape May. If you don't stay here at least drive by when you get to Cape May. I bet you'll think about staying there on your next visit! We now stay here at least two long weekends a year and hope to do more!

This was our second stay at The Mission Inn, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We had a great time meeting the other guests at the delicious breakfast, and had a hearty debate on politics and religion (of all topics). The Inn is within walking distance of the downtown area, and also perfect for an early morning run along the beach. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts, and we will definitely be back.

Kudos to Susan and her staff! Home away from home. Relaxing atmosphere, with beautiful decor from the moment you enter the inn. Stayed only two nights but the breakfasts and appetizers were out of this world to win any palate. From the time we arrived we were treated to complimentary bottle of wine in our beautifully decorated room the San Buenaventura. Comfortable King size bed, walk in closet, fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Susan would ask if we needed help to decide on where to have dinner and would supply excellent recommendations. Beach a block away, close to shopping in town. Short drive to the lighthouse and Sunset Beach. Truely worth coming back but next time for a longer stay.

Mu husband and I spent two wonderful nights at the Mission Inn as a getaway. It is one of the most unique B&Bs, with each room having a unique theme of an old-time mission. The rooms were a feast for the eyes and the provided breakfasts and afternoon snacks were a tasty feast. We loved Susan and her staff who could not do enough to make you welcome.

This was our first time visiting Cape May and staying in a Bed and Breakfast. I am happy to say that we will definitely be going back to both Cape May and the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are wonderful "hosts" and have made the Mission Inn a special place to call home for a few days. The breakfasts were very good and our room, the San Diego, was very clean and accommodating.

This is an enchanting place with warm and friendly owners who are creating a get away environment that rewards all senses...from the colorful gardens, the succulent breakfasts and hors d'oeuvres to the murals on the walls, no detail is overlooked.

Hospitality beyond belief. Felt like I was in my own home with good friends! Susan and Ray are the most genuine hosts you could ever ask for. Not in town so not in all the craziness, but very easy walk not only to the beach, but to center of town and restaurants as well.

Had a short vacation to Cape May with my wife and stayed at the Mission Inn, based primarily on excellent reviews from TripAdvisor. We were very pleased with the beautiful rooms, quiet home, excellent breakfast, and our fantastic hostess, Susanna. What a wonderful retreat!

Away from the madness of the center of town and the cookie cutter Victorian B&B's is nestled a Spanish Mission style compound of comfort and relaxation. The innkeepers, Susan and Ray make you feel welcome and at home immediately. They are so warm and genuine that you arrive as guests and part as friends. The inn itself is beautiful from the guest rooms to the courtyard. Taking breakfast on the porch is such a wonderful experience. The dishes served each morning and the appetizers served each afternoon are creative, delicious and comforting. All it took was one visit to hook my wife and me. We have no desire to stay anywhere else in Cape May and have chosen The Mission Inn as our honeymoon destination in 2013.

We stayed at The Mission Inn for my birthday weekend in August. First time there and we will definitely return. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Breakfasts everyday were fantastic and unlike any other we had ever experienced at a B&B. Having beach gear, beach badges and bicycles at our convenience was an extra bonus. Also, the appetizer hour during late afternoon was a pleasant surprise. Susan and Ray are the epitome of the word "host". If you look up the word in the dictionary, their picture is probably there!

I spent three days over a long holiday weekend at the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray, the owners, are incredible hosts. From the moment you check into their lovely Inn, you feel cared for, welcomed and appreciated. Susan manages all aspects of the Inn with impeccable taste and demeanor. Her staff are delightful, the food is superb and service with a smile literally in every moment you are fortunate enough to stay here. The rooms are all unique and special.........just like they are! I will be staying here every time I have the great fortune of visiting Cape May! Bravo!

Upon arrival at the Mission Inn, we were greeted by Susan who encouraged us to make ourselves comfortable in our new "second home". As we settled in and began to explore this beautiful inn, we realized how true her statement was. Each room invites you to come and enjoy the peace and tranquility. There is no detail that is overlooked. Afternoon refreshments and the morning breakfast are as pleasing to the eye as to the palette. In other words fabulous! You will NOT be disappointed at the Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are most gracious hosts and truly enjoy helping each guest to experience all that this wonderful Inn has to offer... a little of heaven!

The owner goes out of her way to make you feel at home. She goes above and beyond what you expect from the run of the mill b & b. So much is provided for you that you barely have to pack a thing. We have come back 4 times so far. We feel so pampered when we stay here. We will return. We have stayed in 4 different rooms so far. Can't wait to try out the rest.

Very nice B&B. Susan's attention to detail at the Inn is evident, in that everything is near perfect. Staff is very nice, friendly and the little extras that they give you show they really do care about you having a great time. The murals through the Inn are outstanding.

The Mission Inn was simply amazing! My Wife and I stayed there for our honeymoon and the hostess was simply incredible. We were impressed with all of the perks such as beach chairs, beach passes, the hostess even called and made reservations for us to one of the best restaurants in the area. The breakfast served was absolutely memorable, they have a great chief. My wife chose the hotel because of the themed rooms, the decor was impressive and the room itself was very comfortable, I wish we could live there! You will not be disappointed.

While we only had time to stay for 2 evenings, it was well worth the drive! Before we checked in we discussed future stays at different B&Bs. But after our first night, we decided that nothing could hold a candle to the Mission Inn! Thank you for a fabulous retreat!

As repeat guests of The Mission Inn, we once again had a truly enjoyable stay. Breakfasts are out of this world. Innkeepers Susan and Ray went out of their way to make us feel welcome, comfortable and at home. They provide bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas, which is so convenient because it's less we have to worry about when packing :). Susan was full of suggestions on things to do and places to eat. They really do make it easy for the guests...they even provide Q-tips, cotton balls and robes in every room! We've stayed in 3 different rooms--each beautiful and uniquely decorated. And being only 2 blocks from the beach, we enjoyed coming back late afternoon for hors d'oeuvres--of course different variety each day--YUM!! Staying at The Mission Inn is a wonderful experience...and the only place we will stay when visiting Cape May!

Quite simply the best B&B we have ever been to. A beautiful quiet setting . Susan and Ray are very attentive and yet not intrusive. The breakfasts are a visual and culinary delight. We loved our stay at the Mission Inn... this bed and breakfast is so beautiful and charming.. The location is wonderful One block from the beach and a short walk into town.. so we didn't have to get in our car once the whole weekend. The breakfast was delicious too. The best part about the Mission Inn is the wonderful innkeepers who attended to our every need.. forgot suntan lotion - they had it! Bikes were available as were beach towels, chairs and even an umbrella. Delicious appetizers waiting for us each afternoon too.. A fabulous Bed and Breakfast.. 5 stars across the board in our book! Everything was PERFECT. Susan and Ray were wonderful hosts and their staff was fantastic. Our first time there but won't be our last. They thought of everything. Rooms were beautiful, food was great and we felt like family. Pictures do not do it justice. I cannot say one thing negative. Oh yeah I can -- we only stayed one night -- we should have stayed longer, much longer.

My wife and I finally got a weekend away (just the two of us, no friends, no family, no kids) after about 5 years and The Mission Inn was the perfect spot. The mission was well appointed and the room that we stayed in was spacious. It could rival any luxury hotel we've stayed at. The bathroom was nicely updated and the shower experience was phenomenal. You had access to 8 total body sprayers! Yes, 8! The room was very clean as well. What helped make the stay amazing was all the extras that are provided free of charge as well as Susan and Ray (the innkeepers). With your stay you have access to beach cruisers, beach chairs, and beach towels just to name a few. That's all you really need. Everything was either within walking distance or biking distance. Susan and Ray are an amazing and super friendly couple. They were very sweet and very accommodating. If you needed reservations, they were always willing to help out. If you needed anything special, they would do their best to accommodate. I would highly recommend The Mission Inn to anyone looking for a nice, quiet, quaint B&B in Cape May. Oh, I forgot to mention that the breakfast was delicious and what was a nice surprise was the afternoon appetizers and hors d'oeuvres.

Although Ray and Susan are friends, they treated ALL guests as if they had known them for 20 years too! You have to experience their cook, Leslie 's, breakfasts. They are to die for! Each course was artfully displayed as well as delicious & delivered by Leslie herself. Believe everything you heard about the Mission Inn. It is number one! This is one amazing Bed and breakfast!!! When we travel we like to stay places on par of where we live if not better, but this place exceeded that!! From the moment we were greeted by Susan the owner she made us feel like we have stayed many times. Her and her husbands warmth were felt our entire stay. We have been to Cape May many times and unfortunately overlooked The Mission Inn but will never stay anywhere else from now on. Rooms, service, food and hospitality were all superior. Our hosts love what they do and it shows. They treat us like family, only better. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. They pay attention to every detail with meticulous care. We've been going to the Mission Inn for many years and would never go anywhere else.

My wife and I stayed at the Mission Inn for our anniversary weekend. Susan and Ray have done and outstanding job with creating a very unique inn. They pay the utmost attention to every detail. We got there early and were lucky enough to have a tour of all the guset rooms, they are all beautiful! From the moment you arrive, you are made to feel like family. They are very helpful and knowledgable about the local area and can recommend the perfect thing for you. The breakfasts and afternoon treats are incredible! We are looking forward to our return visit.

We were looking for a quiet, comfortable getaway. The Mission Inn was the ticket. We enjoyed creative gourmet breakfasts on the terrace, took long walks on the beach only one block away, enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres late in the afternoon and tucked into our cozy, beautiful room for three nights. It was hard to leave Susan and Ray’s welcoming hospitality. They even went out of their way to help us find a rental for our family to return in the summer. We fell in love with the Mission Inn and will be back!

The Mission Inn is unlike any other B&B. I do not like the lace and frills and "oldness" of ordinary B&Bs and this has none of that! The attention to detail, the decor, the hospitality, and the food are in a class all by themselves. I will never be able to stay anywhere else but here ever again! They spoil you form the minute you walk in until the minute you leave - which we did not want to do - leave.

The Mission Inn was a wonderful experience for my husband and myself. From the moment we arrived Susan was so welcoming and showed us everything. The Inn is quite unique! We loved the way it was decorated from every space on the walls to the rooms with the jacuzzi tubs and large showers. The other guests were also very friendly. Our breakfast was amazing! The juice selection, fruit and the chef prepared a beautiful main course that was scrumptious! Our coffee never got cold because Susan and Robert were extremely attentive. To top off the wonderful place there were delicious horderves in the afternoon and cookies all day long! We can not wait to return there!

My husband and I recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at Mission Inn at Cape May. We have stayed at many bed an breakfsts and this was the best. The Inn ismeticoulsly maintained, with fresh flowers everywhere, wonderful snacks and amazing breakfast. The Innkeepers treat you like royalty but also like a part of their family. The rooms are very comfrotable, great sitting areas both in and outside. If you are looking for traditional victorian cape may - this is not it....this is something different with the mission motif, but someething truly special. Enjoy!!

We have been going to Cape May for 20+years and have stayed at many different inns and hotels. Two years ago we decided to try the Mission Inn. We will never stay anywhere else! The inn and the innkeepers are so welcoming, the rooms impeccably appointed, and the breakfasts truely gourmet. It has two large common rooms to relax, read, nap or sit in front of the fireplace. Dining on the veranda for breakfast you can watch the ocean, what a way to begin the day! Susan and Ray went above and beyond to help with dinner reservations and the like. Please, treat yourself and go to the Mission Inn!

Susan & Ray are wonderful - warm and inviting. Same as the Mission Inn. It is a wonderful retreat. So different & unique!

We stayed the weekend before valentines day. The room's design was amazing, we felt as though we were in the garden of the mission. The murals on the walls were so incredible. Susan and Ray were excellent hosts, they made us feel like we were staying at a favorite aunt's home. We can't wait to return. I know my girlfriend agrees because she has said at least a dozen times that this was the best valentine ever. Thank you

Sue & Ray- My husband set up this romantic weekend for a night (Only night away with the children) We came from Ocean Grove, N.J. which is not a long ride at all. He asked me if I wanted anything specific. I said, "Yes-please find something with a hot tub / big bath tub and BOY he did. He said that he hunted around on the internet for close to 6hrs (Not at once) and found this place. Something drew him to it and here we are! Something drew me to it also as we pulled up I was so excited and so relaxed. One thing we enjoyed very much is that it was NOT in the middle of the summer and it was so beautiful and so pleasant. As I am sure it would be in the summer as well. Sue and Ray made it so special and so beautiful from the moment we arrived they made it feel as though it was our home away from home as well. You are surrounded my beauty and love. The meals were excellent! I am even making my daughter that breakfast tomorrow morning before school. ( I wont tell you what it is then I will ruin your surprise) It is a MUST that you go check this place out. You will be hooked as my husband and I are now. I even said, "Are kids alloud here" Then my husband hit me in the arm...HeHeHe what was I thinking NO-WAY I love you my children but this is our home away from home now. We will be back and we are looking to spend time here at least once a year and nothing less. My husband and I were thrilled to stumble upon the Mission Inn on our search for a babymoon location. Our hosts were more than gracious and generous. We were greeted by their smiling faces, friendly recommendations, and delicious appetizers. They even gave us an adorable gift bag filled with baby goodies to celebrate our upcoming baby! The inn was immaculate and beautifully decorated. Breakfast the next morning was absolutely incredible. The juices were fantastically yummy and the food was just as exceptional. The entire time our every need was met and we felt cozy and comfortable. We will definitely be returning!

This was my husband & my first B&B experience and we were SOLD! I truly feel sorry for other B&B's because the bar the inn keepers Susan & Ray set us at was above and beyond a 10!! Their inn from the moment you walk in smells and feels warm and like home. They are fully stocked in beverages, have enough room for you to keep stuff in the guest refrigerator so you can store stuff to reheat later! the rooms are all different and are beautifully decorated. The breakfast in the morning made by Leslie is AMAZING!!! i thought i would never be left speechless after eating breakfast but i WAS!! The appetizers made by Susan EVERY evening are simply to-die for! We have already booked additional stays for the remainder of the year and this time next year! We wanted to secure "our room". Everyone you MUST go to The Mission Inn!

Attention to every detail, best B&B anywhere. All rooms are unique each has a fireplace and all have two person jacuzzi tubs with all but one have two person showers.Breakfast was to die for. Left feeling pamperd and rested highly recomend

Warm and welcoming. Jacuzzi tub for two adds to the romance of the well appointed and well decorated Spanish mission themed rooms. Great hors d'oeuvres and a scrumptious breakfast were a real treat. My husband and I just love the Mission Inn in Cape May. Susan and Raymond have a very special place, and made us feel like family. Everything is comfortable and elegant. So relaxing. Breakfast is fabulous. We highly recommend this wonderful inn.

I have never stayed at a B&B before and only chose the Mission Inn off of reading reviews and I could not have been happier with my choices. We just stayed there last night and left this morning and already planning our next visit!! I took my boyfriend here for his bday present and he had no idea where we were going or where we were staying!! First meeting Susan and Ray he was wowed about how they make you feel at home as soon as you walk in and then after Ray showed us to our room Jim was just in aww about the room the house everything it was a perfect choice!!! Susan and Ray thank you again so much!! The decor and the rooms and the murals are just amazing!! Our breakfast was fabulous!! Everything I can't say enough!! And the best part is Susan and Ray keep this gem so clean you could literally eat off the floor!!! You will not go wrong choosing The Mission Inn for your stay!!!

A beautiful B&B with all the quaintness of Cape May, but with a unique flair. The replications of the California missions are stunningly accurate. The accomodations are elegant and modern, while maintaining the soft style that is Cape May. We received a warm welcome and friendly hospitality from Susan & Raymond. Finally, the breakfast was by far the best we've had in the Cape. We have enjoyed visiting a new B&B each Christmas time, but now I believe we have found our annual stay!

i had never been to cape may and was pleasantly surprised. the town was wonderful, holiday lights, carraige ride, and lots of shopping. i was very impressed with our lodgings. the rooms were terrific, we had a tour; and the service was extraordinary. nothing was neglected or done half way. i would highly reccommend the mission inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Mission Inn about a month ago. This was our second visit to this inn and we loved it just as much as the 1st time. We tell everyone, if they want to see what a B&B is supposed to be like to go here. Susan & Ray are the nicest people you will ever meet, you really feel like family when you are with them. Their staff is extremely nice and our room was BEAUTIFUL! (We stayed in the San Diego de Alcala). We will definitely be back soon!

The Mission Inn is definitely the most clean place we've stayed. The rooms are beautiful, the food is wonderful and Susan is so sweet. Reservations were made for us at Tisha's for dinner. It was delicious. Hubby and I are hoping to get back in July for our 15 year Anniversary! So quiet, so charming. I thought the murals on the walls would be a little overwhelming, they were gorgeous. My wife and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary, during a Nor'easter in October. The weather was absolutely horrible. Fortunately, everything was perfect at the Mission Inn... the rooms were beautiful, the food was great, and the staff really made you feel at home. I can't wait to go back!

It was our first time at The Mission Inn. We have visited just a couple of other bed and breakfasts in the Cape May area. Susan and Raymond were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts and appetizers were delicious. The inn was clean and inviting. The refrigerator is stocked with soda, wine, iced tea and lemonde. There is a variety of coffees for the keuring pot just waiting for you at any time. We stayed in the Santa Clara room. So cozy, with a jacuzzi and I wanted to take the 2 person shower home with me. We've been to several B&Bs but the Mission Inn stands far above the rest! Susan and Ray are fabulous hosts and the Inn is just magnificent. The rooms are spacious and there is always cold wine and beverages available through out the day. Not to mention the special cookies and 4pm appetizers! The gourmet breakfasts on the veranda starts your relaxing time. Ready for some exercise? Bikes are on hand, and you are close to the ocean (beach chairs and umbrellas are also supplied), and of course shopping. Susan and Ray make you feel at home and have everything available you could ask for! And that's why we keep coming back! And not just us, on your first visit you'll meet several other couples that are repeaters too. :)

My husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn for just one night. Not enough!!! Susan and Ray (the owners) were happy to meet my request to stay 1 night on a weekend. It was wonderful. The Mission Inn is very unique with it's beautiful handpainted murals throughout. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The atmosphere made it feel like home. My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our "babymoon" and could not have picked a better B+B. Susan and her staff consistently went above and beyond to make out stay special and memorable. Our room was beautiful and well and the rest of the inn. The breakfasts were delicious and more than enough to fill you for the morning into the afternoon! My wife and I decided to spend our 15th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May. My wife and I arrived and were greeted by the owner Susan. She welcomed us into her home and showed us around. As we toured the Inn, she explained her labor of love and how her and Ray had transformed the Inn. We made our way to our room, the San Francisco de Asis room. Wow, what a beautiful work of art. As with several of the other rooms we got to tour, our room was so inviting and perfect. Susan and Ray have thought of it all, they provided us with bikes to ride, beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach, and always offered us beverages to take with us. Before we left, the staff asked us what we were thinking of for dinner. Janet provided us with menus to look at and then made the reservation for us. After returning from biking, we enjoyed the afternoon hors d'oeuvre and met some of the other guests. That night the bed was so comfortable and provided a great night of sleep. The next morning we woke to the smell of breakfast filling the house. Words cannot explain just how great the breakfasts were. Our taste buds were in heaven! From the linens, to the great smelling-soft towels and robes, to the toiletries in the bathroom and along the tub, Susan and Ray didn't forget a thing. We were amazed at such great hospitality. Before we knew it, the weekend was over and it was time to leave. What a sad reality check. But what a perfect weekend! The staff and the comfort of the Inn made it perfect. We will definitely return and look forward to that day. Thank you Susan and Ray!

Had a great time in a great place. The Mission Inn is small (8 rooms) so you can meet the other guests and Susan and Ray make every effort to make the Inn feel like a home away from home. The room was gorgeous, clean, with modern amenities. And the breakfasts were superior---Leslie is just one fantastic cook. I will definitely return---and recommend the Mission Inn to my friends.

Sue and Ray, We were so lucky to get such nice days for our fall stay. The inn is beautifully painted with murals of the California Missions and as an artist it was a delight to be in such artistic surroundings. Our room was large with a jacuzzi a fireplace. We both felt like we were at home but even better. I don't make snacks at 4:00 everyday. The breakfasts were wonderful too. We plan on coming back again soon. Thanks Susan and Ray.

Stayed at the Mission Inn for our 9th anniversary,totally worth every penny.Our room was fabulous,air jet tub & awesome 2 person shower,worth the splurg!!! The stay was wonderful---the hosts made you feel right at home...lots of thought giving to details...sodas in the fridge, brownies on the counter, wonderful breakfast served either outside or inside. My wife and I recently enjoyed a three night stay at The Mission Inn. While we have stayed at dozens of B&B's on both coasts over the last 30 years, we must say that our stay at The Mission was, while brief, the most enjoyable we have experienced. Fabulous anniversary/babymoon weekend at the Mission Inn! After 5 wonderful years of marriage and our first little one on the way I had to make sure that I planned something relaxing but still extraordinary in my search for the right B&B in Cape May. I searched the 61+ offerings in the Cape May area and knew once I saw the pictures online of the Mission Inn, that this was a special place. It was a last minute accommodation but Susan was extremely helpful to get me reserved for the LAST room available. The pictures online are great but once you step foot inside The Mission Inn you get a true taste of the west and the Inn Keepers' commitment to bringing a truly unique B&B experience. Our room was perfect, king size bed, jacuzzi tub with shower and murals and detail to take you to what seems to be another part of the world. The Inn is a block off the beach (walking distance) and offers all the necessary ammenities, beach towels, bicycles, chairs, ice packs for coolers and umbrellas! Finding out what was being served for breakfast each morning was like Christmas morning! Each morning something new, fresh and homemade served on the outside patio (weather permitting) was the perfect start to each day. The afternoon snacks were a great way to hold yourself over till dinner later that night. Susan and Raymond (Inn Keepers) have created an incredible place of relaxation with great service in every aspect! We look forward to numerous future getaways at The Mission Inn! (Many of the other guests had been there numerous times before) Thank you for the memories!

My wife and I have been visiting Cape May for over twenty years, and have stayed in several Bed and Breakfast Inns, over that time period. We had previously settled on the Duke of Windsor, as the best and most enjoyable Inn in Cape May to stay at. Unfortunately the owner sold that Inn a few years ago. When we asked her for her recommendation of a new Bed and Breakfast in Cape May to stay at, she unconditionally recommended the Mission Inn, and no others. We have now stayed at the Mission Inn on seven or eight occassiions over the past few years, and each time, when it comes time for us to leave, we always regret leaving the Inn. Each time, we are made to feel welcome immediately upon arriving. Immaculate rooms, decorated in a California MIssion theme , exquisite and delicious breakfasts, and hosts that make you feel like family and friends. My husband and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May (where we met!) and stayed at the Mission Inn. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. We were very happy with our visit to The Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The owners and staff were very friendly and warm. As were the other guests. The Inn is close enough to town to make easy access but far enough away to avoid overly crowded areas. The room was very spacious and the general open areas for all guests was spacious as well. This Bed and Breakfast was the best thought out and best designed of all of the ones we've been to in Cape May over the years. I have no reservations in recommending The Mission Inn. I don't have room to list everything there is to say. The guests are thought of at all times while the atmosphere was warm and friendly at the same time. Perfect balance of everything. Can't wait to go back!

From the time we checked in until checkout Susan and Ray made us feel like family. This was our third trip to the Mission Inn and it just keeps getting better and better. The breakfast that they serve is delicious and if its possible,it gets better each day.Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries,the decor is beautiful and it seems they are constantly making improvements to their inn. The afternoon social hour is a nice touch with wonderful culinary treats and an oppurtunity to meet some of the other guests. What a beautiful place to stay! The wonderful Innkeepers, Susan and Raymond, and their fabulous staff, make you feel comfortable & at home the moment you get out of your car. We stayed in the Santa Barbara room & it was just lovely. We really wanted to take the shower home with us, but I guess we'll just have to go back again to use it :-) Everything is kept nice and clean. The breakfast were delicious & the afternoon "appetizers", which were more like a light meal were fantastic! It was fun to see what fabulous surprises we would have each day. The Inn is only one block from the beach & within walking distance of some really great restaurants. They've thought of everything, all you have to do is pack some clothes & get ready to be pampered & taken care of. We hated to leave and we will definitely be going back again.

My girlfriend and I booked a three night stay at the Mission Inn in August 2011 based on the reviews we read online. The reviews don't serve the inn the justice it deserves. Truly the best vacation of our lives. I have stayed at Ritz-Carltons, the Waldorf-Astoria, Omni Parker House, and W Hotels and they could learn a thing or two from the quality of service the Mission Inn provides. Breakfast is outstanding, location is just off the beaten path but well within walking distance of town and the beach, but most importantly the owners are genuine and genial. Would and have highly recommended to everyone I know!

When the Stones roll in, we are at our home away from home. We have visited Susan & Ray, our attention to detail host and hostess - at the Mission Inn each summer and many autumn and winter seasons too - over the past 7 years. The Inn is lovely and the food is superb. The Roberts are always upgrading something significant as they consistently reinvest in their 100 year old showplace. Love the beach tags, great bikes and beach chairs & umbrellas too!

Susan & Raymond were Fabulous hosts!! They thought of everything a guest could want before we knew we even wanted it. The Inn is warm & comfortable and you barely even knew the staff existed-you went to breakfast and poof-your room was cleaned & refreshed by the time you returned. We went bike riding into the quaint city center, sunned on the beach and had wonderful dinners in town; bikes, umbrellas, & beach towels provided by the Inn were all in tip top condition, just like I'd provide the guests that visit my own home in Florida! Dining recommendations were spot on-never had a bad meal, especially Susan's breakfasts - WOW!! It will be our home away from home when John & I are in Cape May (or anywhere close enough to drive to from there)- but better because I don't have to cook or clean, Susan & Raymond take care of all that and more!! Wished we could have stayed longer. We were only able to get away 1 night but it was perfection. The owners, Susan & Ray are warm, friendly and charming. The inn is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Between the fabulous, hearty breakfast and scrumptious hors d'oevres and sweets, you don't need to eat much else. We will definitely visit again!

My husband and I fell in love with this B&B & decided that this will be the place we will always stay at when visiting Cape May, NJ. All the rooms are beautifully hand-painted offering a luxurious yet cozy feeling. The food was outstanding; I couldn't wait to see what they were going to serve every morning. The owners, Ray & Susan, were extremely nice. They make it feel like you are visiting your family’s beach house for the weekend. They offer a lot of complimentary amenities that we haven't seen before (my husband couldn't get enough of their homemade lemonade; it is the best he's ever had). The Mission Inn has definitely set the bar high for any other B&B's we decide to stay at.

We only had time for a one night stay and found the Mission Inn had one night available in the San Diego de Alcala room which we found to be clean, cool, comfortable, spacious and well-appointed with terrific Mission decor. The bed was a little too firm to suit me, but my wife found it to her liking. The shower was the best I have ever been in. Susan was an excellent hostess and Leslie an imaginative chef. The Mission style was a nice departure from the the Victorian B&B's that dominate Cape May. Being a short 15-20 minute walk from the busyness of the downtown shopping areas was nice as it was quiet at night with only the sounds of the ocean which was a very short walk away. The Inn offers bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and free passes as well as a convenient bath house facility to wash the beach off before re-entering the Inn. All in all, a delightful place to stay. We are ready to return.

I've been reading reviews on the Internet for years but have never before written a review. I knew that a place would have to be outstanding to compel me to write. I have found that place in "The Mission Inn." We chose the Mission Inn after seeing their rating and reading all of the glowing reviews. Since we only had 2 nights to spend, we wanted to make sure it was perfect. It was! We were greeted by Susan upon our arrival and shown to our luxurious, immaculate room, the San Juan Bautista. Our walls were hand painted, and our king bed headboard was a replica of the mission made out of hand-carved wood. We had a fireplace and our bathroom was complete with wine glasses, a television, a 2 person jacuzzi tub and a spa shower. We were lucky enough to get a peek at the other rooms and were amazed at the detail of the painting and decorating of each room. The food was amazing...truly a gourmet experience! We loved riding the bikes and were pleased to know that we also had access to beach badges, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Susan has a gift of making everyone feel special! I would recommend to everyone that they stay at the Mission Inn. Once you stay there, you'll never consider anyplace else. We can't wait to go back again! This was our 4th stay at Mission Inn and Susan and Ray run a first-rate inn. Extremely accommodating and always there to make your stay more enjoyable. The rooms are charming with modern amenities. The food is delicious. Janet does a lovely job in the afternoon. Go! You won't be disappointed.

Most wonderful place to stay in Cape May. Susan and Ray are the greatest inn keepers and two of the nicest people you could want to meet. The inn is beautiful, breakfasts are superb and the amenities are awesome, bikes, beach chairs, umbrellas! NOT ONE SINGLE COMPLAINT! Worth every penny and a memorable vacation!

Our stay at the Mission Inn was beautiful and relaxing. When Susan, the owner of the Mission Inn, discovered that it was my first time in Cape May, she gladly talked to my boyfriend and I about what kind of activities were available. They provided ample amounts of literature to give us any additional information that we needed. She was the loveliest host and she made us feel so welcome. It really feels like you're a part of a family when you stay at the Mission Inn. We were introduced to the other guests as they came and went. Everyone was so unbelievably friendly. The other guests gave us restaurant recommendations and were extremely interested in what we were going to be doing on our trip. It was great to get feedback from others about what they enjoyed doing in Cape May. We stayed in the Santa Clara room and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire Inn is so exquisitely decorated. Susan told us about all of the renovations that they had made and are currently making. We saw a mural being worked on little by little during our stay. It's wonderful to know that Susan and her husband Ray are adamant about continually making improvements to the property.   I'm not quite sure of what amenities the other bed and breakfasts supply but the Mission Inn is very accommodating. They supply beach passes, bikes, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards. They have almost everything that you could possibly need for a day at the beach. Susan and Ray have really made life so much easier! We loved the Mission Inn so much that we're already trying to plan our next visit!

From the moment we entered the Mission Inn we were welcomed and pampered. Susan and Ray are such personable hosts and their genuine care and thoughtfulness make you feel so very special and appreciated. Truly one of our best B&B experiences. Everything was fresh and new. The breakfasts were relaxed and delicious and we came home with a new recipe.

The Mission Inn is the only B&B my husband and I have stayed in and it is the only Inn we will stay in when in Cape May. We have been going to the Mission Inn every year for the past 6 years and every year we enjoy our stay more and more! The inn keepers are the most gracious hosts and treat guests like family. The chef prepares delicious gourmet breakfasts each morning and there are delectable snacks served each afternoon. Every year there are beautiful design enhancements made to the interior. Each room is designed to represent a California Mission. The details to design including carved headboards and painted murals is extraordinary. The Mission Inn is just beautiful, warm and inviting. We just returned from the long July 4th weekend and cannot wait to return to this gem of Cape May.

If you want quality R&R at the Jersey shore, and do it in sheer luxury and comfort, The Mission Inn in Cape May is the place to go. We've been to many B&B's....however, none compares with The Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are sweet, accomodating and personable innkeepers and the breakfasts (as well as the 4 pm hors d'oeurves) were fabulous. The inn amenities include a comfortable reading/game room where guests enjoy friendly chatter, plentiful coffee, tea, cold drinks, cookies, a private back patio with comfortable lounges, huge porch for eating/reading, and a charming living room with fireplace. Just one block off the beach, Susan and Ray also provide beach tags, chairs, umbrellas and bicycles. These factors alone give The Mission Inn an "A" rating....but what makes this B&B so very special are the spectacular rooms, each unique in its own southwest decor, with 5-star state-of-the-art showers (and in some rooms, hot tubs). But....don't expect any computer....this is still a B&B....and if you're like me, you'll be grateful to take a few days off from the internet!

In late June,I spent two nights at the Mission Inn. An old friend from out of town and I decided to leave the husbands behind and have a girls getaway.The innkeepers were gracious, friendly and made you feel like they were welcoming you into their own home. The accommodations (every room has a king size bed) were first class. The place was immaculate and every important detail was addressed to provide comfort for the guest. Each room is unique and every wall was painted with gorgeous murals. The shower stall was something out of an exclusive spa. The common rooms also were painted with murals, had very comfortable furniture and a full size refrigerator stocked with soda, iced tea, lemonade, seltzer and white wine for the guests. Designated shelves were available for the guests' personal items to be refrigerated. Breakfast was wonderful, though a large man might be a little hungry and afternoon hors d'oeuvres were delicious. The Inn is only a block from the beach and beach tags, umbrellas, beach towels and chairs are provided. I can hardly wait to go again!

My wife and I recently stayed five nights and had a lovely visit. We were asked ahead of time about any food issues, so the breakfast and the late afternoon snacks would not present unwanted surprises. Everything that would be necessary for an enjoyable stay in Cape May was provided. We were warned ahead of time that the particular room we stayed in had a very small shower/commode arrangement which is beyond their control to remodel; that was indeed a tight space, but, it was not a surprise for us. All in all, we would highly recommend The Mission Inn to friends - and we already have!

We had the most wonderful, relaxing, luxurious weekend at the Mission Inn June 24-26, 2011, which was our first visit to Cape May. Every need and wish are fulfilled by the most professional owners and staff. The Roberts' have thought of EVERYTHING and truly make the Mission Inn your home for your stay: after the overwhelmingly-lovely tour, the combination to the front door is yours and the entire premises are your own 24/7. Delicious breakfasts, delightful afternoon snacks, friendly and attentive staff, casually-elegant and quiet atmosphere, one short block from the beach, all beach needs provided (including towels), wonderful bicycles, and perfect location. We parked the car there and never got back into the car (until we sadly drove away) as we walked or biked everywhere in beautiful, bike-friendly Cape May. We cannot wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at The Mission Inn in Cape May. Susan and Ray are wonderful people and their service, hospitality and attention to detail are impeccable. Some of the most beautiful, creative and original rooms that we have ever stayed in. The food was inventive and healthy with a variety of fruits, juices and vegetables to compliment every breakfast. We recently stood at the Mission Inn and were joined by our children and their new extended family in celebrationof our children's engagement. For my husband and my self this was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. The accommodations were beautiful and Susan and Ray were wonderful....They made you feel like their family. We are planning our next get away!!

We had the MOST fabulous experience at the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The Mission Inn is a Bed & Breakfast that oozes with style and uncompromised luxury. It is located in a serene area just one block from the ocean. The accommodations were FIRST CLASS all the way. The team at the Inn works as fine machinery, leaving NOTHING to be desired. Sue and Ray are the owners and more, as husband and wife they complement each other perfectly. If you have a special day, or if there is a person you want to delight, Mission Inn is the answer.

We always feel pampered fully by Susan and Ray, the inkeepers! The rooms are clean and luxurious, the delicious breakfast and late afternoon hors d'oeuvres are superb!! Then there is the ocean air and the quick one block walk to the beach and view of the ocean from the porch of the inn!!! I can't wait until our next visit!!!!

We stayed in the San Luis Rey Room. It was perfect. We almost couldn't tell the bricks and scenes were real or faux. The breakfasts were delicious (coffee, tea, special juice, appetizer and meal). The nightly appetizers were plentiful and almost a light dinner (though Susan was available for restaurant recommendations/reservations). Everyone was friendly. Easy walk to the beach (Inn provided chairs, umbrellas, beach tags, bicycles). Excellent adult weekend in Cape May.

We've stayed at over a dozen B&Bs in Cape May and the Mission Inn is definitely the best of the best. My wife and I constantly marveled at the attention to every detail - from the room to the gardens to the breakfasts and snacks - everything was truly outstanding. Our room was spacious and airy, and beautifully decorated. The california mission theme was a welcome change from the many typical victorian accomodations. The bathrooms have new fixtures and the over sized tub and shower were exactly what we hoped for. The owners could not have been more helpful. The evening we arrived, Susan helped us plan reservations for dinner for the four nights we were there, made helpful suggestions for fun things to do, and provided us with maps and keys to our bikes for the next day. (Bike's are provided which is a nice perk) The breakfasts were delicious, something totally different every morning, and presented beautifully. We would love to make a return visit!

Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts, making you feel like you were visiting family. The superb breakfasts were always amazing. The rooms are absolutely gorgous. I stayed in the San Francisco room and it felt like I was sleeping under the clouds. It is close to the beach and walkable to town.This is my favorite Inn in Cape May and I have visited quite a few in recent years.

Such a beautiful home and grounds, innkeepers (Susan and Ray) create a friendly and casual atmosphere and the food was the best - from the afternoon appetizers and beverages to the bottomless cookie jar and the gourmet breakfasts. My sister and I were celebrating our birthdays and I'm planning a trip to the Mission Inn with my husband in the fall. Linda

We just spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Inn. What a fun and relaxing stay! The Inn was gorgeous and immaculate, and the Hosts, Susan and Ray, couldn't be warmer. Breakfast is delicious - the rooms are comfortable - the bathrooms are luxurious. One block to the beach - the Inn supplies chairs, umbrellas and towels. There are plenty of bicycles to use - and I recommend taking a ride at least once, it's a great way to get around. I can't wait to go back!

Rooms are sensational! Comfy bed, luxury shower. InnKeepers - Raymond and Susan are the best ever. Breakfasts and evening snacks are always a wonderful surprise! Can't wait to go back.

My husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn at Cape May last week, and wish we didn't have to leave. The innkeepers were extremely accomidating and pleasant without being bothersome. The breakfast was wonderful, and afternoon snacks were more like lunch! Delicious! The rooms were beautiful and non-victorian making this inn the most unique B&B in Cape May. The History the inn told with its unbelievable decor and comfortable rooms made our stay a vaca we will not forget.

This is our fourth stay at the Inn, Celebrating our 7th anniverrsary there was great. We always feel at home with Susan, Ray and their associates. The only bad thing about the Inn, is having to leave. Looking forward to another relaxing stay, hopefully soon.

We stayed at the Mission Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay. The Inn is simply magnificent, the photos and pictures simply cannot do it justice. The rooms are spacious, impeccably decorated, and immaculate. Susan was a wonderful hostess and a terrific cook, our breakfast was terrific! The Mission Inn provides everything you need for a memorable stay, from well maintained bikes and beach chairs, to games and high end bath products. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

We only stayed one night, but we will definitely be back!! Susan and Ray are the warmest and most hospitable hosts!! We felt like we were at home!! Next time we return, we will make our visit more than one night. Very relaxing, warm atosphere!!

We couldn't have been more delighted nor picked a better place to stay to enjoy a long weekend away to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Our honeymoon had been in Cozumel, Mexico. Our 10th anniversary had been as well. But that was before we had a son, who we were luckily able to leave in the trusted hands of good friends, but who we didn't want to be so far away from in case of any emergency. Cape May is beautiful, but what made it special was Suzanne and Ray, the hosts/owners of The Mission Inn. Suzanne was a wealth of information and concierge-oriented duties achieved with grace and kindness; Ray was a welcome reconteur and host, as well as groundskeeper. We met several couples similarly celebrating anniversaries, including birthdays, and felt as they suggested almost a part of Suzanne and Ray's family. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, relaxing base on Cape May from which to explore, we can't recommend The Mission Inn enough...

Our stay at the Mission Inn in Cape May recently as the other stays over the years was wonderful! The rooms are tastefully decorated in various Mission styles with many amenities. No matter where you are in the Inn, the outside areas, the sitting areas, the dining areas are over the top. Susan and Ray are attentive and go out of their way to make your stay unforgetable. Treated my mom to an overnight for her birthday--and it was just perfect! Susan and her staff were amazing, attentive and kind. She knew just the right restaurants to suggest as well as new things to check out while in town. The hotel itself is just beautiful to look at--I could've wandered for hours just taking in the murals!

The chef, Leslie, has been with Susan & Ray since the beginning and she never ceases to amaze with her innovative and scrumptious breakfasts. Always a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Coming back to the Mission Inn is like revisiting good friends----can't wait to see them again soon!
