My husband and I just love the Mission Inn in Cape May. Susan and Raymond have a very special place, and made us feel like family. Everything is comfortable and elegant. So relaxing. Breakfast is fabulous. We highly recommend this wonderful inn.

I have never stayed at a B&B before and only chose the Mission Inn off of reading reviews and I could not have been happier with my choices. We just stayed there last night and left this morning and already planning our next visit!! I took my boyfriend here for his bday present and he had no idea where we were going or where we were staying!! First meeting Susan and Ray he was wowed about how they make you feel at home as soon as you walk in and then after Ray showed us to our room Jim was just in aww about the room the house everything it was a perfect choice!!! Susan and Ray thank you again so much!! The decor and the rooms and the murals are just amazing!! Our breakfast was fabulous!! Everything I can't say enough!! And the best part is Susan and Ray keep this gem so clean you could literally eat off the floor!!! You will not go wrong choosing The Mission Inn for your stay!!!

A beautiful B&B with all the quaintness of Cape May, but with a unique flair. The replications of the California missions are stunningly accurate. The accomodations are elegant and modern, while maintaining the soft style that is Cape May. We received a warm welcome and friendly hospitality from Susan & Raymond. Finally, the breakfast was by far the best we've had in the Cape. We have enjoyed visiting a new B&B each Christmas time, but now I believe we have found our annual stay!

i had never been to cape may and was pleasantly surprised. the town was wonderful, holiday lights, carraige ride, and lots of shopping. i was very impressed with our lodgings. the rooms were terrific, we had a tour; and the service was extraordinary. nothing was neglected or done half way. i would highly reccommend the mission inn.

Service better than most 5 star hotels that I have stayed at. Attention to detail, attention to comfort and especially the attention to my wife and I, were once again, extraordinary. Don't believe the endless 5 star ratings that the Mission Inn continues to generate? Try a night or two at this remarkable establishment and see if find any reason to rate it less. Susan & Ray are born inn keepers. Their love of their guests and of their creation rings out in every detail, accommodation, hors d'oeuvre and breakfast. The inn is more an art gallery/spa than just a nice place to eat and sleep. Choose a room; any room, and see what true commitment, attention to detail and honest hard work yields. My husband and I stayed at the Mission Inn about a month ago. This was our second visit to this inn and we loved it just as much as the 1st time. We tell everyone, if they want to see what a B&B is supposed to be like to go here. Susan & Ray are the nicest people you will ever meet, you really feel like family when you are with them. Their staff is extremely nice and our room was BEAUTIFUL! (We stayed in the San Diego de Alcala). We will definitely be back soon!

The Mission Inn is definitely the most clean place we've stayed. The rooms are beautiful, the food is wonderful and Susan is so sweet. Reservations were made for us at Tisha's for dinner. It was delicious. Hubby and I are hoping to get back in July for our 15 year Anniversary! So quiet, so charming. I thought the murals on the walls would be a little overwhelming, they were gorgeous. My husband and I spent our 2nd wedding anniversary at The Mission Inn and it was fantastic! This was the best B&B we've ever stayed in. Susan and Ray made us feel like we were out of town family instead of just guests. They were very warm and hospitable. They made sure we were very comfortable. My wife and I stayed here for our first wedding anniversary, during a Nor'easter in October. The weather was absolutely horrible. Fortunately, everything was perfect at the Mission Inn... the rooms were beautiful, the food was great, and the staff really made you feel at home. I can't wait to go back!

It was our first time at The Mission Inn. We have visited just a couple of other bed and breakfasts in the Cape May area. Susan and Raymond were wonderful hosts. The breakfasts and appetizers were delicious. The inn was clean and inviting. The refrigerator is stocked with soda, wine, iced tea and lemonde. There is a variety of coffees for the keuring pot just waiting for you at any time. We stayed in the Santa Clara room. So cozy, with a jacuzzi and I wanted to take the 2 person shower home with me. We've been to several B&Bs but the Mission Inn stands far above the rest! Susan and Ray are fabulous hosts and the Inn is just magnificent. The rooms are spacious and there is always cold wine and beverages available through out the day. Not to mention the special cookies and 4pm appetizers! The gourmet breakfasts on the veranda starts your relaxing time. Ready for some exercise? Bikes are on hand, and you are close to the ocean (beach chairs and umbrellas are also supplied), and of course shopping. Susan and Ray make you feel at home and have everything available you could ask for! And that's why we keep coming back! And not just us, on your first visit you'll meet several other couples that are repeaters too. :)

My husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn for just one night. Not enough!!! Susan and Ray (the owners) were happy to meet my request to stay 1 night on a weekend. It was wonderful. The Mission Inn is very unique with it's beautiful handpainted murals throughout. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very clean. The atmosphere made it feel like home. The fireplaces made it very cozy on a cold fall night. The breakfast prepared by Leslie and served by the innkeepers was a delectable treat. We will be back for sure !!! The Testas'

Thanks to our friends Chris and Deb for recommending the Mission Inn for our honeymoon. Tammy and I found the Mission Inn so comforting in all aspects. My husband and I stayed at the Inn for our "babymoon" and could not have picked a better B+B. Susan and her staff consistently went above and beyond to make out stay special and memorable. Our room was beautiful and well and the rest of the inn. The breakfasts were delicious and more than enough to fill you for the morning into the afternoon! We especially loved the afternoon homemade appetizers and drinks! Can't wait to go back to the Mission inn!

My wife and I decided to spend our 15th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May. My wife and I arrived and were greeted by the owner Susan. She welcomed us into her home and showed us around. As we toured the Inn, she explained her labor of love and how her and Ray had transformed the Inn. We made our way to our room, the San Francisco de Asis room. Wow, what a beautiful work of art. As with several of the other rooms we got to tour, our room was so inviting and perfect. Susan and Ray have thought of it all, they provided us with bikes to ride, beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach, and always offered us beverages to take with us. Before we left, the staff asked us what we were thinking of for dinner. Janet provided us with menus to look at and then made the reservation for us. After returning from biking, we enjoyed the afternoon hors d'oeuvre and met some of the other guests. That night the bed was so comfortable and provided a great night of sleep. The next morning we woke to the smell of breakfast filling the house. Words cannot explain just how great the breakfasts were. Our taste buds were in heaven! From the linens, to the great smelling-soft towels and robes, to the toiletries in the bathroom and along the tub, Susan and Ray didn't forget a thing. We were amazed at such great hospitality. Before we knew it, the weekend was over and it was time to leave. What a sad reality check. But what a perfect weekend! The staff and the comfort of the Inn made it perfect. We will definitely return and look forward to that day. Thank you Susan and Ray!

Had a great time in a great place. The Mission Inn is small (8 rooms) so you can meet the other guests and Susan and Ray make every effort to make the Inn feel like a home away from home. The room was gorgeous, clean, with modern amenities. And the breakfasts were superior---Leslie is just one fantastic cook. I will definitely return---and recommend the Mission Inn to my friends.

Sue and Ray, We were so lucky to get such nice days for our fall stay. The inn is beautifully painted with murals of the California Missions and as an artist it was a delight to be in such artistic surroundings. Our room was large with a jacuzzi a fireplace. We both felt like we were at home but even better. I don't make snacks at 4:00 everyday. The breakfasts were wonderful too. We plan on coming back again soon. Thanks Susan and Ray.

Stayed at the Mission Inn for our 9th anniversary,totally worth every penny.Our room was fabulous,air jet tub & awesome 2 person shower,worth the splurg!!! Susan & Raymond are very gracious and have the perfect mix of Cape May advise and making you feel welcome.Breakfasts were not only delicious,but nicely unique.Their pantry is very well stocked with many comforts of home.Very charming and a definate place to go to again and again!!!

The owners were just wonderful and friendly. They took a special interest in knowing your dietary needs and made sure that you were treated well. They went above and beyond making our stay very special. We would definately go back.

This is like our home away from home. Everytime we arrive, we are greeted warmly by name and treated so well. There's no other place we would ever stay in Cape May but the Mission Inn. We love Ray, Susan and their staff. They are gracious and accomodating beyond what's required. We truly feel at home here.

The stay was wonderful---the hosts made you feel right at home...lots of thought giving to details...sodas in the fridge, brownies on the counter, wonderful breakfast served either outside or inside. Rooms relaxing---spa tub fantastic. Just a wonderful couple of days away from the hustle and bustle of life, work, etc. Would highly recommend a stay at this bed and breakfast.

My wife and I recently enjoyed a three night stay at The Mission Inn. While we have stayed at dozens of B&B's on both coasts over the last 30 years, we must say that our stay at The Mission was, while brief, the most enjoyable we have experienced. Susan and Ray are the friendliest, most caring and most courteous inn keepers we have met. They instantly make you feel 'at home' and as though you are a long time friend. Fabulous anniversary/babymoon weekend at the Mission Inn! After 5 wonderful years of marriage and our first little one on the way I had to make sure that I planned something relaxing but still extraordinary in my search for the right B&B in Cape May. I searched the 61+ offerings in the Cape May area and knew once I saw the pictures online of the Mission Inn, that this was a special place. It was a last minute accommodation but Susan was extremely helpful to get me reserved for the LAST room available. The pictures online are great but once you step foot inside The Mission Inn you get a true taste of the west and the Inn Keepers' commitment to bringing a truly unique B&B experience. Our room was perfect, king size bed, jacuzzi tub with shower and murals and detail to take you to what seems to be another part of the world. The Inn is a block off the beach (walking distance) and offers all the necessary ammenities, beach towels, bicycles, chairs, ice packs for coolers and umbrellas! Finding out what was being served for breakfast each morning was like Christmas morning! Each morning something new, fresh and homemade served on the outside patio (weather permitting) was the perfect start to each day. The afternoon snacks were a great way to hold yourself over till dinner later that night. Susan and Raymond (Inn Keepers) have created an incredible place of relaxation with great service in every aspect! We look forward to numerous future getaways at The Mission Inn! (Many of the other guests had been there numerous times before) Thank you for the memories!

My wife and I have been visiting Cape May for over twenty years, and have stayed in several Bed and Breakfast Inns, over that time period. We had previously settled on the Duke of Windsor, as the best and most enjoyable Inn in Cape May to stay at. Unfortunately the owner sold that Inn a few years ago. When we asked her for her recommendation of a new Bed and Breakfast in Cape May to stay at, she unconditionally recommended the Mission Inn, and no others. We have now stayed at the Mission Inn on seven or eight occassiions over the past few years, and each time, when it comes time for us to leave, we always regret leaving the Inn. Each time, we are made to feel welcome immediately upon arriving. Immaculate rooms, decorated in a California MIssion theme , exquisite and delicious breakfasts, and hosts that make you feel like family and friends. We have found out that our opinions aren't the exception, but the norm for the folks from all over, that we have met time and again at the Mission Inn. My husband and I celebrated our 10th Wedding Anniversary in Cape May (where we met!) and stayed at the Mission Inn. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts. The afternoon snacks are scrumptious and the breakfasts fantastic. One block from the beach and a easy walk to the center of town. They think of everything from beach towels, chairs/umbrellas and bikes. Would absolutley come back and could thin of no other place I would stay when in Cape May!

I have traveled a lot and have stayed at many places and the Mission Inn is by far one the best I have ever stayed in. Your hosts are true professionals, the food amazing and delightful and rooms fantastic. You want from nothing when you stay here. We are already booked again for next year.

We were very happy with our visit to The Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The owners and staff were very friendly and warm. As were the other guests. The Inn is close enough to town to make easy access but far enough away to avoid overly crowded areas. The room was very spacious and the general open areas for all guests was spacious as well. This Bed and Breakfast was the best thought out and best designed of all of the ones we've been to in Cape May over the years. I have no reservations in recommending The Mission Inn. I don't have room to list everything there is to say. The guests are thought of at all times while the atmosphere was warm and friendly at the same time. Perfect balance of everything. Can't wait to go back!

From the time we checked in until checkout Susan and Ray made us feel like family. This was our third trip to the Mission Inn and it just keeps getting better and better. The breakfast that they serve is delicious and if its possible,it gets better each day.Our room was clean and well stocked with towels and toiletries,the decor is beautiful and it seems they are constantly making improvements to their inn. The afternoon social hour is a nice touch with wonderful culinary treats and an oppurtunity to meet some of the other guests. Iwould recommend The Mission Inn to anyone looking for a relaxing few days in a casual,yet elegant setting.

What a beautiful place to stay! The wonderful Innkeepers, Susan and Raymond, and their fabulous staff, make you feel comfortable & at home the moment you get out of your car. We stayed in the Santa Barbara room & it was just lovely. We really wanted to take the shower home with us, but I guess we'll just have to go back again to use it :-) Everything is kept nice and clean. The breakfast were delicious & the afternoon "appetizers", which were more like a light meal were fantastic! It was fun to see what fabulous surprises we would have each day. The Inn is only one block from the beach & within walking distance of some really great restaurants. They've thought of everything, all you have to do is pack some clothes & get ready to be pampered & taken care of. We hated to leave and we will definitely be going back again.

My girlfriend and I booked a three night stay at the Mission Inn in August 2011 based on the reviews we read online. The reviews don't serve the inn the justice it deserves. Truly the best vacation of our lives. I have stayed at Ritz-Carltons, the Waldorf-Astoria, Omni Parker House, and W Hotels and they could learn a thing or two from the quality of service the Mission Inn provides. Breakfast is outstanding, location is just off the beaten path but well within walking distance of town and the beach, but most importantly the owners are genuine and genial. Would and have highly recommended to everyone I know!

When the Stones roll in, we are at our home away from home. We have visited Susan & Ray, our attention to detail host and hostess - at the Mission Inn each summer and many autumn and winter seasons too - over the past 7 years. The Inn is lovely and the food is superb. The Roberts are always upgrading something significant as they consistently reinvest in their 100 year old showplace. Love the beach tags, great bikes and beach chairs & umbrellas too!

Susan & Raymond were Fabulous hosts!! They thought of everything a guest could want before we knew we even wanted it. The Inn is warm & comfortable and you barely even knew the staff existed-you went to breakfast and poof-your room was cleaned & refreshed by the time you returned. We went bike riding into the quaint city center, sunned on the beach and had wonderful dinners in town; bikes, umbrellas, & beach towels provided by the Inn were all in tip top condition, just like I'd provide the guests that visit my own home in Florida! Dining recommendations were spot on-never had a bad meal, especially Susan's breakfasts - WOW!! It will be our home away from home when John & I are in Cape May (or anywhere close enough to drive to from there)- but better because I don't have to cook or clean, Susan & Raymond take care of all that and more!! Wished we could have stayed longer. We were only able to get away 1 night but it was perfection. The owners, Susan & Ray are warm, friendly and charming. The inn is clean, comfortable and well appointed. Between the fabulous, hearty breakfast and scrumptious hors d'oevres and sweets, you don't need to eat much else. We will definitely visit again!

My husband and I fell in love with this B&B & decided that this will be the place we will always stay at when visiting Cape May, NJ. All the rooms are beautifully hand-painted offering a luxurious yet cozy feeling. The food was outstanding; I couldn't wait to see what they were going to serve every morning. The owners, Ray & Susan, were extremely nice. They make it feel like you are visiting your family’s beach house for the weekend. They offer a lot of complimentary amenities that we haven't seen before (my husband couldn't get enough of their homemade lemonade; it is the best he's ever had). The Mission Inn has definitely set the bar high for any other B&B's we decide to stay at.

We just spent four nights at The Mission Inn in Cape May. The accommodations were beyond what we expected. Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts who do anything they can to make your stay comfortable. We only had time for a one night stay and found the Mission Inn had one night available in the San Diego de Alcala room which we found to be clean, cool, comfortable, spacious and well-appointed with terrific Mission decor. The bed was a little too firm to suit me, but my wife found it to her liking. The shower was the best I have ever been in. Susan was an excellent hostess and Leslie an imaginative chef. The Mission style was a nice departure from the the Victorian B&B's that dominate Cape May. Being a short 15-20 minute walk from the busyness of the downtown shopping areas was nice as it was quiet at night with only the sounds of the ocean which was a very short walk away. The Inn offers bicycles, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and free passes as well as a convenient bath house facility to wash the beach off before re-entering the Inn. All in all, a delightful place to stay. We are ready to return.

Very unique accommodations.. Spacious, very very clean and pleasant. Breakfast is a real treat!!! We will not stay anywhere else in Cape May. Susan and Ray are the ultimate hosts... Just pack your bathing suit, some clothes and a few personal items.... everything else is at your finger tips at this absolutely beautiful B&B.

I've been reading reviews on the Internet for years but have never before written a review. I knew that a place would have to be outstanding to compel me to write. I have found that place in "The Mission Inn." We chose the Mission Inn after seeing their rating and reading all of the glowing reviews. Since we only had 2 nights to spend, we wanted to make sure it was perfect. It was! We were greeted by Susan upon our arrival and shown to our luxurious, immaculate room, the San Juan Bautista. Our walls were hand painted, and our king bed headboard was a replica of the mission made out of hand-carved wood. We had a fireplace and our bathroom was complete with wine glasses, a television, a 2 person jacuzzi tub and a spa shower. We were lucky enough to get a peek at the other rooms and were amazed at the detail of the painting and decorating of each room. The food was amazing...truly a gourmet experience! We loved riding the bikes and were pleased to know that we also had access to beach badges, beach chairs, beach towels and umbrellas. Susan has a gift of making everyone feel special! I would recommend to everyone that they stay at the Mission Inn. Once you stay there, you'll never consider anyplace else. We can't wait to go back again! Our stay at the Mission Inn was beautiful and relaxing. When Susan, the owner of the Mission Inn, discovered that it was my first time in Cape May, she gladly talked to my boyfriend and I about what kind of activities were available. They provided ample amounts of literature to give us any additional information that we needed. She was the loveliest host and she made us feel so welcome. It really feels like you're a part of a family when you stay at the Mission Inn. We were introduced to the other guests as they came and went. Everyone was so unbelievably friendly. The other guests gave us restaurant recommendations and were extremely interested in what we were going to be doing on our trip. It was great to get feedback from others about what they enjoyed doing in Cape May. We stayed in the Santa Clara room and it was absolutely beautiful. The entire Inn is so exquisitely decorated. Susan told us about all of the renovations that they had made and are currently making. We saw a mural being worked on little by little during our stay. It's wonderful to know that Susan and her husband Ray are adamant about continually making improvements to the property.   I'm not quite sure of what amenities the other bed and breakfasts supply but the Mission Inn is very accommodating. They supply beach passes, bikes, beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and boogie boards. They have almost everything that you could possibly need for a day at the beach. Susan and Ray have really made life so much easier! We loved the Mission Inn so much that we're already trying to plan our next visit!

The Mission Inn is the only B&B my husband and I have stayed in and it is the only Inn we will stay in when in Cape May. The chef prepares delicious gourmet breakfasts each morning and there are delectable snacks served each afternoon. Every year there are beautiful design enhancements made to the interior. Each room is designed to represent a California Mission. The details to design including carved headboards and painted murals is extraordinary. The Mission Inn is just beautiful, warm and inviting. We just returned from the long July 4th weekend and cannot wait to return to this gem of Cape May.

If you want quality R&R at the Jersey shore, and do it in sheer luxury and comfort, The Mission Inn in Cape May is the place to go. We've been to many B&B's....however, none compares with The Mission Inn. Susan and Ray are sweet, accomodating and personable innkeepers and the breakfasts (as well as the 4 pm hors d'oeurves) were fabulous. The inn amenities include a comfortable reading/game room where guests enjoy friendly chatter, plentiful coffee, tea, cold drinks, cookies, a private back patio with comfortable lounges, huge porch for eating/reading, and a charming living room with fireplace. Just one block off the beach, Susan and Ray also provide beach tags, chairs, umbrellas and bicycles. These factors alone give The Mission Inn an "A" rating....but what makes this B&B so very special are the spectacular rooms, each unique in its own southwest decor, with 5-star state-of-the-art showers (and in some rooms, hot tubs). But....don't expect any computer....this is still a B&B....and if you're like me, you'll be grateful to take a few days off from the internet!

In late June,I spent two nights at the Mission Inn. An old friend from out of town and I decided to leave the husbands behind and have a girls getaway.The innkeepers were gracious, friendly and made you feel like they were welcoming you into their own home. The accommodations (every room has a king size bed) were first class. The place was immaculate and every important detail was addressed to provide comfort for the guest. Each room is unique and every wall was painted with gorgeous murals. The shower stall was something out of an exclusive spa. The common rooms also were painted with murals, had very comfortable furniture and a full size refrigerator stocked with soda, iced tea, lemonade, seltzer and white wine for the guests. Designated shelves were available for the guests' personal items to be refrigerated. Breakfast was wonderful, though a large man might be a little hungry and afternoon hors d'oeuvres were delicious. The Inn is only a block from the beach and beach tags, umbrellas, beach towels and chairs are provided. I can hardly wait to go again!

My wife and I recently stayed five nights and had a lovely visit. We were asked ahead of time about any food issues, so the breakfast and the late afternoon snacks would not present unwanted surprises. Everything that would be necessary for an enjoyable stay in Cape May was provided. We were warned ahead of time that the particular room we stayed in had a very small shower/commode arrangement which is beyond their control to remodel; that was indeed a tight space, but, it was not a surprise for us. All in all, we would highly recommend The Mission Inn to friends - and we already have!

We had the most wonderful, relaxing, luxurious weekend at the Mission Inn June 24-26, 2011, which was our first visit to Cape May. Every need and wish are fulfilled by the most professional owners and staff. The Roberts' have thought of EVERYTHING and truly make the Mission Inn your home for your stay: after the overwhelmingly-lovely tour, the combination to the front door is yours and the entire premises are your own 24/7. Delicious breakfasts, delightful afternoon snacks, friendly and attentive staff, casually-elegant and quiet atmosphere, one short block from the beach, all beach needs provided (including towels), wonderful bicycles, and perfect location. We parked the car there and never got back into the car (until we sadly drove away) as we walked or biked everywhere in beautiful, bike-friendly Cape May. We cannot wait to come back!

We had a wonderful stay at The Mission Inn in Cape May. Susan and Ray are wonderful people and their service, hospitality and attention to detail are impeccable. We recently stood at the Mission Inn and were joined by our children and their new extended family in celebrationof our children's engagement. For my husband and my self this was our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast. The accommodations were beautiful and Susan and Ray were wonderful....They made you feel like their family. We had the MOST fabulous experience at the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ. The Mission Inn is a Bed & Breakfast that oozes with style and uncompromised luxury. It is located in a serene area just one block from the ocean. The accommodations were FIRST CLASS all the way. The team at the Inn works as fine machinery, leaving NOTHING to be desired. Sue and Ray are the owners and more, as husband and wife they complement each other perfectly. If you have a special day, or if there is a person you want to delight, Mission Inn is the answer.

We always feel pampered fully by Susan and Ray, the inkeepers! The rooms are clean and luxurious, the delicious breakfast and late afternoon hors d'oeuvres are superb!! Then there is the ocean air and the quick one block walk to the beach and view of the ocean from the porch of the inn!!! I can't wait until our next visit!!!!

We stayed in the San Luis Rey Room. It was perfect. We almost couldn't tell the bricks and scenes were real or faux. The breakfasts were delicious (coffee, tea, special juice, appetizer and meal). The nightly appetizers were plentiful and almost a light dinner (though Susan was available for restaurant recommendations/reservations). Everyone was friendly. Easy walk to the beach (Inn provided chairs, umbrellas, beach tags, bicycles). Excellent adult weekend in Cape May.

We've stayed at over a dozen B&Bs in Cape May and the Mission Inn is definitely the best of the best. My wife and I constantly marveled at the attention to every detail - from the room to the gardens to the breakfasts and snacks - everything was truly outstanding. Our room was spacious and airy, and beautifully decorated. The california mission theme was a welcome change from the many typical victorian accomodations. The bathrooms have new fixtures and the over sized tub and shower were exactly what we hoped for. The owners could not have been more helpful. The evening we arrived, Susan helped us plan reservations for dinner for the four nights we were there, made helpful suggestions for fun things to do, and provided us with maps and keys to our bikes for the next day. (Bike's are provided which is a nice perk) The breakfasts were delicious, something totally different every morning, and presented beautifully. We would love to make a return visit!

Susan and Ray are wonderful hosts, making you feel like you were visiting family. The superb breakfasts were always amazing. The rooms are absolutely gorgous. I stayed in the San Francisco room and it felt like I was sleeping under the clouds. It is close to the beach and walkable to town.This is my favorite Inn in Cape May and I have visited quite a few in recent years.

Such a beautiful home and grounds, innkeepers (Susan and Ray) create a friendly and casual atmosphere and the food was the best - from the afternoon appetizers and beverages to the bottomless cookie jar and the gourmet breakfasts. We just spent Memorial Day Weekend at the Inn. What a fun and relaxing stay! The Inn was gorgeous and immaculate, and the Hosts, Susan and Ray, couldn't be warmer. Breakfast is delicious - the rooms are comfortable - the bathrooms are luxurious. One block to the beach - the Inn supplies chairs, umbrellas and towels. There are plenty of bicycles to use - and I recommend taking a ride at least once, it's a great way to get around. I can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn at Cape May last week, and wish we didn't have to leave. The innkeepers were extremely accomidating and pleasant without being bothersome. The breakfast was wonderful, and afternoon snacks were more like lunch! Delicious! The rooms were beautiful and non-victorian making this inn the most unique B&B in Cape May. The History the inn told with its unbelievable decor and comfortable rooms made our stay a vaca we will not forget.

This is our fourth stay at the Inn, Celebrating our 7th anniverrsary there was great. We always feel at home with Susan, Ray and their associates. The only bad thing about the Inn, is having to leave. Looking forward to another relaxing stay, hopefully soon.

We stayed at the Mission Inn to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and had a wonderful stay. The Inn is simply magnificent, the photos and pictures simply cannot do it justice. The rooms are spacious, impeccably decorated, and immaculate. Susan was a wonderful hostess and a terrific cook, our breakfast was terrific! The Mission Inn provides everything you need for a memorable stay, from well maintained bikes and beach chairs, to games and high end bath products. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

We only stayed one night, but we will definitely be back!! Susan and Ray are the warmest and most hospitable hosts!! We felt like we were at home!! Next time we return, we will make our visit more than one night. Very relaxing, warm atosphere!!

We couldn't have been more delighted nor picked a better place to stay to enjoy a long weekend away to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Our honeymoon had been in Cozumel, Mexico. Our 10th anniversary had been as well. But that was before we had a son, who we were luckily able to leave in the trusted hands of good friends, but who we didn't want to be so far away from in case of any emergency. Cape May is beautiful, but what made it special was Suzanne and Ray, the hosts/owners of The Mission Inn. Suzanne was a wealth of information and concierge-oriented duties achieved with grace and kindness; Ray was a welcome reconteur and host, as well as groundskeeper. We met several couples similarly celebrating anniversaries, including birthdays, and felt as they suggested almost a part of Suzanne and Ray's family. If you're looking for a quiet, clean, relaxing base on Cape May from which to explore, we can't recommend The Mission Inn enough...

Our stay at the Mission Inn in Cape May recently as the other stays over the years was wonderful! The rooms are tastefully decorated in various Mission styles with many amenities. No matter where you are in the Inn, the outside areas, the sitting areas, the dining areas are over the top. Susan and Ray are attentive and go out of their way to make your stay unforgetable. Treated my mom to an overnight for her birthday--and it was just perfect! Susan and her staff were amazing, attentive and kind. She knew just the right restaurants to suggest as well as new things to check out while in town. The hotel itself is just beautiful to look at--I could've wandered for hours just taking in the murals!

From the moment we entered The Mission we knew we were somewhere special. The Mission is a beautiful experience from the handpainted murals and custom headboards to the gourmet dining. We relaxed and "cruised" our way through Cape May. We left saying we would return in a few months. No regrets whatsoever. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

This was our fourth stay at the Mission Inn (3rd since Susan & Ray became owners). Everything about this B & B is 1st rate---the ambiance, decor, hospitality and food. The chef, Leslie, has been with Susan & Ray since the beginning and she never ceases to amaze with her innovative and scrumptious breakfasts. Always a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. Coming back to the Mission Inn is like revisiting good friends----can't wait to see them again soon!

We have stayed at the Mission Inn 3 times so far, staying in 3 different rooms. We are ALWAYS so impressed with the rooms, the food, and of course, our hosts, Susan and Ray. They really go out of their way to make us feel comfortable, from recommending a restaurant for us, to making sure we have enough hors 'devours in the afternoons. We will come back to the Mission Inn time and time again.

Ray and Susan, our host and hostess, were very hospitable and just couldn't do enough for us. Their goal was to make sure everything was perfect during our stay - and it was. The rooms (and the entire Inn) are very clean, quiet and comfortable. We highly recommend his lovely quaint Inn if you desire rest and relaxation. You won't be disappointed.

This past weekend my husband and I stayed at The Mission Inn. This was our 2nd time at the Inn and our stay was even better than before. Our 1st time we stayed in the San Diego room which was beautiful. This time we chose the San Juan Bautista and it was spectacular. We were able to tour each room on this visit and all rooms have so much to offer. They are each unique in their own way. The Inn is so relaxing and is decorated beautifully. Susan and Raymond have thought of everything from the warm and friendly great room to the luxurious spa showers and jacuzzis along with fireplaces in some rooms. Susan's breakfast along with afternoon refreshments are delicious. They have thought of everything needed for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The Inn is so accomodating! Can't wait to go back for another visit!!

We recently stayed at The Mission Inn and enjoyed it thoroughly. This was our first time at a b&b so we were not sure what to expect. Our host was wonderful and thought of every detail. There were homemade cookies when we arrived and a bottle of champagne in our room. Every room was immaculate and beautiful. Breakfast was superb and our host catered to our nutritional needs. The only downfall was that we were only able to stay there for 1 night. We can't wait to go back!

I found the Mission Inn while searching for a special place to take my wife for her birthday. Little did I know how special a place it is! Ever since then, it is the only place we stay when we go to Cape May. The rooms are spectacular, the breakfast is gourmet (and delicious too), as well as the afternoon hors d'oeuvres. The Inn is also located within a block of the beach, and is within walking distance of most of Cape May's restaurants and shops But above all, Susan and Raymond are the most gracious hosts you can imagine. They are part of our family now, and we consider ourselves lucky to have found them, as well as their wonderful Inn. If you ever plan to stay in Cape May, be sure to book your room at the Mission Inn. You WON'T be disappointed!

We did not want our stay to end at the Mission Inn. The accomodations are first class and the hospitality and welcome by the innkeepers, Susan and Ray provide an experience of visiting "old friends". We plan to make the inn an annual event, especially during the busy Christmas season. We stayed at the inn a few days before Christmas and enjoyed the break from all the hustle and bustle that the season brings, while enjoying the "Victorian" Christmas that Cape May is known for. The Mission Inn is a wonderfully unique inn. It stands out from the majority of the B&B's/inns in Cape May, which are predominantly Victorian style. Innkeepers Susan & Ray are very welcoming, friendly, and most certainly accommodating. Each of the eight rooms boasts modern amenities, yet, is tastefully decorated to resemble the old California Missions. It is just steps away from the beach and a short bike ride to the town's center. I would definitely recommend The Mission Inn to anyone who is looking to stay in the area.

I stayed at The Mission Inn this past weekend and have been raving about it since. The innkeepers are kind, thoughtful, and their hospitality is unmatched. It's clear they know the area very well, and made great recommendations. Their chef made spectacular breakfasts. The rooms are spacious, updated, clean, and comfortable.

This inn is absolutely fabulous. The owner's are kind, loving and make you feel like family. Don't miss breakfast served everyday! It's one of the highlights of the day and I guarantee you have not had a breakfast like it. Kudos to Leslie. The design & decor is so beautiful it should be featured on HGTV. Stepping into my room gave me the feeling I first had when I saw "The Wizard of Oz" when Dorothy opens her door and sees Oz. The room was serene & peaceful, I felt like I was in a fantasy.

Susan and Ray (innkeepers/owners) are so very hospitable! The Inn is very cozy and welcoming. I think the website does give you a good preview of what the Inn is like, but it is truly so much more! You will not be disappointed!!

Our experience at the Mission Inn was nothing short of perfect. Hosts Susan and Ray sincerely made us feel like family. Accommodating is not a fair word - better would be harmonizing. The taste, aroma and feel of the inn make you just want to melt into the walls.The rooms, or should I say art-chambers, were one-of-a-kind lodgings more typical of an art gallery then a bedroom. Spacious, marvelously decorated and immaculately clean, the room itself is reason enough to stay at the inn. Breakfasts by Leslie should be chiseled into the dinning room walls! Unique and delightful, you won't find these masterpieces at your local diner. That goes for the afternoon appetizers as well. Great stuff! One block from the Atlantic Ocean and the beaches and a 5 minute drive to open-air mall in the center of Cape May gives you all you'll need whether you come in the summer or winter (Christmas season is a special treat). We have already booked for 2011. GO!

Susan and Ray have created a warm, relaxed, and friendly atmosphere at The Mission Inn. The accomodations exceeded my expectations. The breakfast was outstanding. The location is a block in from the beach and very convienent to shopping and restaurants. The inn is beautiful but I think it is the hospitality of Susan, Ray and thier staff that make The Mission Inn a great choice for some R&R.

My wife & I were reluctant to stay in a B & B but wanted to try The Mission Inn based on friends' recommendations. It was exceptional. I'm hoping my great recommendation won't make it difficult for me to get a reservation next time.

The Mission Inn is a truly unique B&B in Cape May. There decor is wonderful with hand-painted pictures throughout the home. The room we stayed in (San Fransisco room) was beautifully modeled after the Missions in California. Along with the decor, the room offers lots of great amenities like a spa shower, fireplace, and jacuzzi. Its was a joy to come back from a brisk walk to a room were you can lay in the jacuzzi or by the fireplace. The breakfast was also great and the cranberry, coconut, oatmeal cookies were easily tops on my cookie list. Also, Susan and Ray went out of their way to accommodate any of the requests we have. Bottomline is that the Mission Inn is one of the best places to stay in Cape May, and because of the great room amenities, it can be enjoyed year round.

The Mission Inn is the greatest place we have ever stayed. The owners' hospitality cannot be matched. They make us feel at home each time we visit. The food is out of this world and the rooms will please you. We cannot wait to get back there.

This was a wonderful, relaxing weekend. The service was outstanding and the innkeepers were willing to share information, including historical info, about the area. One is able to meet other guests and get acquainted in a relaxed, home-like setting, but also enjoy the privacy of guest rooms with TV and DVD players. The food is delicious.

A week at the beach! We both loved our stay at The Mission Inn, our second visit, planning the next time right now. Susan, Ray, Janet, Leslie and the rest of the competent and gracious staff enhanced our visit. The weather was hot, hot, but our room was cool and a refuge. We have only explored the tip of all Cape May has to offer. So much more to Cape May than is readily apparent, a fascinating history. The Mission Inn will be a good home base. Thanks so much. We just returned from our stay at the Mission Inn - it was absolutely perfect!! Super clean, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food - the afternoon appetizers were my favorite - beautifully decorated, very comfortable, and every amenity you can think of and many you wouldn't have, but will enjoy. We never stayed at a B&B in Cape May before - only motels/motels with our family. This was our first full weekend away from our kids and we had so much fun. They have bikes you can use - we rode into town several times to shop, eat. The beach is one block away - they also have beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, and tags you can use. They even have an outside shower for when you come back. The kitchen has sodas, water, coffees and snacks - all very convenient. They really do think of everything and make it a joy from the minute you arrive. We will definitely stay at the Mission Inn again.

Service excellent; hosts Susan & Ray make everyone feel like part of their family. Terrific location, 1 block from the beach. The Inn is designed as a California style mission & is unique in Cape May with a 100 year history. Room was large & airy, high ceilings, jacuzzi, etc. No wonder this was our 7th visit !!!!!!

What a wonderful time and beautiful B&B!!! They thought of every little detail! Our room was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. My wife and I chose this B&B because of the awesome reviews that it received. I questioned the fact that it had almost NO negative reviews, but after staying here I can say that the Positive reviews were totally correct, and the negatives were probably from people who need to complain about something anyway. We felt totally at home at the Mission Inn and HIGHLY recommend it to couples wanting to get away for a few days. We were spoiled (to put it lightly) and felt at home the minute we walked in the door. Only one word of caution for those staying in the San Juan Capistrano room, the bathroom is small (they did warn us of this before our stay, just THIS bathroom though from what I understand). I'm only 5'7" tall, if I were taller than say 5'10" it wouldn't work. Other than that, the room and the B&B were great, especially Leslie and the awesome variety and creativity at breakfast. My husband and I have stayed at this inn twice over the past three years and will come back again. It is just the best of the best. The rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed, the breakfasts are so delicious, and the help and the owners just make it feel like your home away from home. Could not ask for more. You are on a quiet street not far from the beach or the downtown, yet not bothered by loud noises and traffic. It is a favorite getaway for us.

We just started staying at B & B's 3 years ago. This is far and away the best yet. If they are all like this, I will never stay in hotel again. We felt welcome as soon as we set foot in the door and felt sad when we left. It is a rare feeling when you think you get your money's worth for anything but that is the feeling I got. Friendly, helpful, great room(s), and great food. The only regret I had was that I didn't find out Ray was into the Civil War until I was leaving--would have loved to talked to him about that. Go to this place--you won't regret it.

My husband & I go the Mission Inn the third week in September for a week. This year we decided to add a long weekend in June. No matter when you go to the Inn, Susan & Raymond treat you like family. The breakfasts are always different and everything is made with fresh produce. When we are there we never want to leave. Our trip to the Mission Inn in Cape May, NJ changed our minds on what a Bed and Breakfast Inn can be. On past visits to other B&B’s we were not completely comfortable, feeling that we were staying in the house of someone we did not know. At the Mission Inn, the efforts of hosts Susan and Raymond made everyone feel like they were long time friends and any request or preference was enthusiastically acknowledged and addressed. Only 1 block from the beautiful sandy beaches, we found the rooms were clean and comfortable, the food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and the service was exceptional. This was the most enjoyable B&B experience that we have ever had and we hope to be able to return soon.

We enjoyed the most fantastic 4 days and 3 nights we ever had in Cape May. The Mission Inn is the place to stay. The Innkeepers Susan and Ray are such gracious, warm, caring, detailed oriented hosts. They make you feel like family and nothing is to much trouble. The Mission Inn decor is stunning with the murals of different Missions from California and it is also very cozy and comfortable. The perfect place,innkeepers,atmosphere for a getaway weekend! Susan & Ray made it the most perfect gift I could have given my daughter & son in law when they needed it the most. Comfortable room, with 2 person tub. Excellent food and atmosphere! They had a wonderful time and would find it hard to beat going to any other Bed & Breakfast after staying at the Mission Inn! My husband and I have been visiting Cape May for over 10 years. Some years we have visited twice within the year. We have stayed in many different places in this wonderful city at different times of the year. Everytime we return to the Mission we are treated just like we are part of the family. Susan and Ray are very special Innkeepers.

I had never been to Cape May and wanted to find a nice relaxing Bed & Breakfast to unwind. The Mission Inn more than exceeded my expectations! Even though the weather was not ideal during our stay, my boyfriend and I had a wonderful, relaxing time. The Inn is beautifully decorated and the hosts made you feel very welcome – we had never met them before, but felt that after a few minutes, they were old friends! Food was outstanding and we will definitely return for another visit as soon as we can!

The Mission Inn is a destination site. Very gracious hosts and attention to details lacking in even the best inns we have visited. The eight jetted shower was an incredible bonus. A definite return.

To be thoroughly spoiled, catered to and comforted. A lovely visit - and we're going back in 2 weeks (having visited at least a dozen times). Wonderful innkeepers and staff, delicious food, cozy & comfortable bed, great bubbly jacuzzi. Only a few steps to the beach, for great beachwalking & shells in the off-season. All our dinner reservations were made, yummy afternoon treats. Susan's cookies are a delight!

The Inn is decorated tastefully, and murals relating to California Missions are fantastic. The room, bike rides and just sitting on the porch enjoying the ocean view. Breakfasts were delicious. The Mission Inn is a welcome and refreshing option to Cape May's Victorian B&B's. We have stayed at a number of them but since we first stayed at the Mission Inn a few years ago, we are "hooked". The innkeepers, Raymond and Susan, can't do enough for you, as well as their small yet attentive staff. The rooms and bathrooms are comfortable and quiet, and the Inn itself is a perfect place to find a relaxing spot to "nest". It's like a home away from home. The breakfasts and afternoon snacks are gourmet!

It was not only the peaceful setting of this California themed B&B that made our visit special, but it really was all the attention to details and the personal touches that the innkeeper, Susan, provided that made this visit go above and beyond any other B&B I've ever visited. I wanted to move in. The breakfast in the morning was healthy and fresh. Just one block from the beach. Beautiful environment. We will definitely return there in the future for a relaxing getaway.

Wonderful room, very clean and the hosts are very detail oriented. They thought of just about everything you might need. Everywhere you look is a neat detail that really warms up the Inn.

We have found a favorite place to visit. We plan on returning time and time again. The innkeepers do everything in their power to make your stay as perfect as possible. Everything you can possibly need is provided from luxurious beach towels, chairs, tags, bicycles, scrumptious afternoon snacks, and fresh fruit. The breakfasts are fabulous!!!!!!

Celebrating our 40th anniversary couldn't have been nicer. 5 stars on everything. What wonderful hosts Susan & Ray are. We will definitely come back.

The Mission Inn is a uniquely decorated B&B that provides attention to every detail. The entire Inn is classy, but comfortable, lovely gardens, delicious food & beautiful, artistic decor throughout, made our stay perfect. The hosts, Susan & Raymond, were delightful.

Part of the allure of a Bed and Breakfast is the intersection between your private fantasy of home and your personal concept of an earthly paradise. That's why The Mission Inn is the place we return to time and again. It's graced with a tranquil back patio with its own proverbial trumpet vine and fig tree, has a jar always brimming with fresh oatmeal cranberry cookies, and (in our favorite room) has a luxury shower with eight spray jets and a rainfall shower head. When we trailed back from the hot beach to find ginger peach soup and bowls chilling in the freezer, we knew we were in Eden by the Atlantic. The airy, pleasing decor is a refreshing spin on California coastal missions, the food is incredibly creative, fresh, and tasty, and Susan and Raymond sparkle with warmth and joy in what they do. Go see for yourself. Enjoy. Just leave me a cookie or two, please.

My husband and I thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mission Inn in July 09. The food was exceptionally good and the service was stellar as well. One of the best things about this Bed & Breakfast is the very unique and beautiful decor of the rooms. The gorgeous spanish-style detail adds such a special feeling to each location of the house. The Innkeepers are ABSOLUTELY wonderful, but the food was just delightful! We really enjoyed ourselves-especially staying in the room with the TV in the bathroom. I always wanted to sit in the tub and watch SCRUBS. HA! What a fantasic little trip. It will be nice to go back again.

The Mission Inn is a refreshing getaway one block from the ocean in quaint Cape May. The CA mission decor, fauxpainting and tasteful accommodations are only surpassed by the gourmet breakfasts and attentive staff.

My daughter and I had a wonderful vacation at The Mission Inn. We loved being so close to the beach. Our room and the Inn were beautiful. The food was delicious and very fresh. The service was exceptional. We loved Cape May and The Mission Inn and hope to return one day soon.

Susan and Ray have created a welcoming retreat. every detail is perfect from comfy beds to bikes and beach chairs, to delicious snacks and breakfast. Wonderful in every way!

We had a wonderful time at the Inn. Susan and Ray were like old friends who made us comfortable and welcomed. The breakfasts were a treat every morning. The rooms were amazing. We look forward to a return visit!

We were so welcomed and treated with utmost kindness. Susan goes out of her way to make everyone feel at home. Leslie made the most incredible breakfasts and there were so many juice choices! After returning from the beach we were greeted by Janet and served afternoon beverages and hors'doeuvres that were so enjoyable as well as talking with the different couples saying there! The amenities could not be any better. We stayed in the San Francisco de Asis and just loved this beautiful room. This was a special treat to celebrate my husband's birthday and he just loved it. We are bicycle riders and loved being away from all the crouds of people where all other Bed and Breakfasts are generally located. This is only one block to the beach. We loved the beach chairs that were provided and ordered them on-line when we came home. Thank you Susan!

The best B&B I ever visited. Clean, luxurious, delicious and understatedly elegant service. What a find! Free bikes, wifi, flatscreen, beach towels and chairs, snacks, drinks and wine. You must visit.

We stayed at the Santa Clara for one night. We wished we could stay forever, it was awesome! The theme of the inn is genius. They served us with the utmost attention to detail, and were like friends to us when we left. Everyone should go there.

My husband and I try to get away once a year, just for some alone time. Having four kids ages 5-18 doesn't leave much time for that at home. Ray and Susan are wonderful. They make you feel like family and old friends all at the same time. We have been to the Inn twice and we can't wait to return. Their hospitality is top notch, their staff is wonderful and gracious. The breakfast they serve is out of this world. The afternoon appetizers will spoil and delight you. They truly take care of the needs of their guests and once you've been here, you'll find it hard to stay anywhere else!
