The inn, located on Columbia Avenue, offers some of the best "people watching" in Cape May. In the warmer months, guests can enjoy their breakfast and afternoon tea on the veranda.
Relax in the parlor at the Mason Cottage. In the cooler months, guests will enjoy the gas fireplace. Afternoon tea and snacks are served daily to all guests from 3:00 to 4:00 PM daily.
Enjoy a full breakfast each morning in our dining room or outside on the veranda in the warmer months.
Guests staying in the Grand Mason Spa Suite can relax in their private Spa Room complete with two person soaking tub and massage table. Be sure to ask about the special packages only available to guests staying in the Grand Mason Spa Suite.
The Grand Mason Spa Suite is the newest and most romantic suite at the Mason Cottage. This beautifully appointed suite features an antique queen size bed, a private bath with a large two person shower and pedestal sink, an adjoining Spa Room and a private sitting room.

The Franklin Suite has been newly renovated in March 2012. As you enter the suite, guests will notice a lovely alcove with daybed. This room serves as a relaxing reading nook or a 2nd bedroom for a third guest. The alcove's drapery panels close for full privacy.
Enjoy a peaceful bubble bath in the antique claw-foot tub of the Franklin Suite. This 3rd floor suite features a beautiful antique brass and porcelain queen size bed, private bath with antique tub and stand-up shower, I-Pod docking station with AM/FM clock radio and a separate sitting room with large flat screen TV and refrigerator.
The Sitting Room in the Warne Suite features a large flat screen TV, gas fireplace and refrigerator.
The Warne Suite, located on the 3rd floor, showcases spectacular views of the ocean and promenade. The Ware Rooms, named after Hand and Ware - the company that built the unique tin roof on The Mason Cottage, gets the best ocean breezes in the house. Located on the 2nd floor, this beautifully appointed spacious room has high ceilings and lovely antiques throughout. This is a favorite room for those guests celebrating a special occasion.
The Rose Room is located on the 3rd floor. This lovely corner room is bright and cheery and features a full size bed, private bath with stand-up shower, flat screen TV and I-Pod docking station with AM/FM radio.
The Columbia Room is the only room located on the 1st floor. This delightful room makes for easy access to the parlor and dining room. No alarm clock needed in this room - guests will wake to the wonderful smell of a gourmet breakfast each morning. This room was recently redone, a pale blue toile graces the walls, while tall ceilings and lace curtains add to its charm. Right outside the window are two beautiful hydrangea bushes, when in bloom - its magical.
The Hughes Sitting Room at the Mason Cottage offers guests TV, Wii Video gaming system, chess/checkers, computer with internet, along with hundreds of books to enjoy.

The Mason Cottage is a lovely country Victorian Bed & Breakfast located in the heart of historic Cape May, New Jersey. We are just one block from the beautiful Cape May beach and promenade and 2 blocks from a plethora of fine shops and intimate restaurants. Built in 1871 as a private summer residence for Edward A. Warne, a wealthy Philadelphia entrepreneur, the Mason Cottage is the perfect getaway for guests who appreciate the peaceful and charming lifestyle of a by-gone era. The Mason Cottage is endowed with lofty ceilings, full-length windows and a sweeping veranda, all so characteristic of Victorian homes of the period. There are nine lovely antique appointed rooms/suites to choose from, each with private baths, flat screen TV’s, IPod docking stations/AM-FM radio, hair-dryers, air-conditioning and luxurious Tarocco bath amenities. Several with whirlpool Jacuzzi, fireplace and mini-refrigerators.

My husband and I stayed in the Warne room for our 8th anniversary.It was very nice and cozy.Patti was extremely nice and welcoming.We will definitely be going back.

We have been to Cape May a number of times the week between Christmas and New Years and this has been our favorite inn so far. The B&B was decorated beautifully, imacculate and very inviting. Patti was a wonderful hostess. Her cooking was delicious even though we had to request special dietary needs to due to a food allergy. She even made special gluten free vegan cookies for us and had them ready before tea time so that we could catch a show. We stayed in the Davis Suite which was so cozy and comfortable. We can't wait to do it all over again! Thanks, Patti!!!

We stayed at the Mason Cottage for the Columbus Day weekend, and had a wonderful time and experience. Patti accommodated our every need, and we felt comfortable and welcome. The breakfast food was delicious and fresh. The location is perfect! We had a wonderful time and will come back!

We love the Mason Cottage - just home from a week there. We stayed in the Davis Suite this time. We also have stayed in the Grand Maison Suite. We recommend Davis. The very best part of the Inn is the Innkeeper Extraordinaire, Patti. She runs a wonderful inn. She is always ready to make dinner reservations or suggest a spa treatment or those fabulous breakfasts (I wish my mother's had been that good -- these are definitely restaurant quality, at home meals) or the treats at tea time. She's a keeper. The Inn is comfortable and clean and we highly recommend it,. Jane and John Horstman

Located on the third floor, the windows in this suite have an unobstructed view of the ocean and the promenade. This suite is named for Edward Warne, the original owner and builder of this property. The name of this second-floor suite memorializes both Wilber Davis Mason, Sr., the man who started The Mason Cottage in 1946 as a guesthouse, and his son Dave Mason, who lovingly restored much of the property and turned it into a full-service Bed and Breakfast Inn in 1982. We love the Mason Cottage - just home from a week there. We stayed in the Davis Suite this time. We also have stayed in the Grand Maison Suite. We recommend Davis. This was our first time in a B & B and our first stay in Cape May although we have been to the town many times. The Mason Cottage is a very nice, cozy and clean place. Patti the hostess was great. The location is ideal. We had a great time at Mason and would definitely come back again.

My husband and I enjoyed a long weekend in the Rose Room at The Mason Cottage and were very pleased with everything. Being able to sit on the porch was fantastic, but having breakfast on the porch was a bonus. The breakfasts were tasty and Patti was very helpful in helping us figure out where to venture for dinner. We were in town for a friend's wedding, so it was nice to be able to come back to what felt like home rather than a hotel. We will definitely be back! Thanks for such a great stay, Patti!

This was our third stay at the Mason Cottage and it was wonderful as always. The room we stayed in (Columbia Room) was clean and comfortable, perfect for my husband and I. Patti was very accommodating, as always. She prepared us a delicious vegan, gluten free breakfast and goodies for tea time. The weather was beautiful so we were able to utilize the outside seating areas and the porch to read in the afternoon sun. We will definitely be back this summer. Thanks Patti!
