Rhythm of the Sea

My recent stay at The Rhythm of the Sea exceeded my expectations. My room was wonderful and the atmosphere was relaxing. Robyn and Julie made me feel right at home. The breakfast was delicious!! This will be my spot from now on.

Such a charming ocean home. Robyn and Wolfgang are so nice and welcoming. You will feel more like friends staying over rather than paying guests that is for sure. Take advantage of the open dining breakfast make some new friends. We will definitely be back!

My daughter and I have had several great visits to Rhythm of the Sea, and this was the first time I visited with my husband. Coming to Rhythm is like coming home. Robyn and Wolfgang are gracious and welcoming, and our room was immaculate as usual. The beautiful, well-maintained property, the close proximity to the beach, and the quiet location that is still close to the center of town, are all reasons why we will continue to return to Rhythm of the Sea whenever possible.

Went with my girlfriend for our anniversary, and had an excellent stay. The dining was great (they managed to accomodate her vegan diet) and everything about the room was perfect. Looking forward to another stay sometime soon!

I found myself with some time off in February and decided to spend it at Rhythm of the Sea. I had never been there in winter and came prepared with loads of reading. Well, I have never had a better time: lots of time reading by the fireplace (heavenly), candles for atmosphere on the coffee table, a bit of wine...My room--Sea Isle Oasis --was spacious and had all kinds of amenities, the most important being a "spa" type bathroom with a deep tub and unending hot water. I provided my own breakfast foods and Julie pretty much left me to my own devices. While Cape May was quiet (being off-season) I did take advantage of dining at two hard-to book-in-summer restaurants. And the audiotour of Cape May houses was superb! The streets were devoid of traffic and tourists so I could really move about leisurely. It's hard to believe that a couple of days can have such a rejuvenating effect! Taking the time for a break is one of the best things a person can do for themselves--especially in February!

Robyn & Wolfgang are pleasant hosts. Price is a bit high, but could be due to excellent location.

This was our first stay at Rhythm of the Sea, but not our last! We truly had a fabulous experience and look forward to returning!

Even with a hurricane coming up the coast, Robyn, Wolf and Julie made us feel warm and welcomed. Always the penultimate innkeepers, these three outdo themselves every time we stay at Rhythm of the Sea! Glad to her the ol' girl survived the storm so we can continue to enjoy its gracious style!

We love this place. The house is full of well-maintained charm and our room was clean and comfortable. (Satellite TV and an iPod dock are a nice touch for a rainy evening.) The common areas -- the breezy front porch area, the sitting room with fireplace and the dining room -- are also very inviting. And the beach is right across the road. (Only four guest rooms have a direct view of it, I think.) The hosts provide beach towels, beach chair and bikes -- no charge, no deposit, just help yourself and bring them back when you're done with them. We loved that this place is located at the quiet end of the strip, away from the big, loud hotels. It's about a twenty-minute walk to the pedestrian mall area of town, which is farther than some, but it's a short drive or, if you don't want to pay for parking, just borrow one of the inn's bikes! Simple. Breakfasts were tremendous -- something different each day, prepared skillfully. The hosts are very friendly and helpful if you need anything, and otherwise they leave you alone. Next time we go to Cape May I am sure we will stay there again.

This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a B&B and we both absolutely loved Rhythm of the Sea. Robyn, Wolfgang, and Julie were all so very nice and super personable. They were extremely helpful with anything we needed and the breakfasts they made were honestly some of the very creative and delicious breakfasts we have had. We have no doubt where we will stay when we visit Cape May each time we go, which we plan on at the very least yearly.

that is what we dubbed the weekend we spent at Rhythm of the Sea. The accomodations were superb. We stayed in the Carriage House which was private, tranquil and so soothing. The food was beyond good. We did not leave a crumb on a plate! Everything was clean and charming. We had a most wonderful time and plan to return again and again.

We spent two nights at this location with my wife as a wedding present from my family. The service, breakfast meals and cleanliness of the place are 5star. The staff makes your stay a very pleasant one, accommodating as much as they can towards your needs.

This was a long overdue getaway for us but worth the wait. We have never stayed at a place where we could actually see and hear the ocean from our room. The breakfasts were perfect, with friendly and pleasant hosts, and a peaceful yet convenient location. We were sad to go and plan to be back.

The rhythm of the sea was an awesome bed and breakfast! We stayed for 2 nights after our crazy wedding weekend. On Sunday evening we sat out on the patio overlooking the ocean while drinking a glass of wine. We used the inn's bikes to ride around Cape May all day on Monday. We returned to nap and then walked to dinner at the nearby Pier House which was a recommendation from Julie. Breakfast was delicious both mornings as well as the cookies that were put out each afternoon at 3:30. Fantastic stay! Would definitely come back again!

My husband and I travelled to Cape May via the Lewes-Cape May Ferry to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. The weather was beautiful, the Rhythm of Sea Innkeepers and food were excellent. We will return there again soon

The ocean front balcony room was fabulous! Being able to see & hear the ocean as you lie in bed; you can't get better than that! The balcony was my favorite place to be during the day. The staff was super nice, made us feel right at home. We've met wonderful people at breakfast each morning and the food was yummy!

Life is a gift to you, and it goes by ever so quickly…so don't put things off. Be sure to enjoy some personal time with your significant other. One great way of doing this is to give them a memory to retain in their heart and mind.... give them a vacation at one of Cape May's best Bed and Breakfast establishments, Rhythm of the Sea. This B&B is very well cared for by the owners, Robin and Wolfgang. Awesome view of the ocean… don’t you just love waking up to the fresh air, or falling asleep to the gentle and soothing song of the ocean? Their breakfasts are sure to please any pallet. Their staff, Julie or Ingrid, are always so warm and friendly and quite helpful regarding things to do or sights to see. Rooms are clean, comfortable and great air conditioning in the summer. Wonderful fire place to warm you up on those colder evenings. They are located in walking distance to the boardwalk, many restaurants and to the pedestrian Washington Mall. I especially enjoyed the recreational room where my husband and I played a game of pool. The daily coffee, tea and afternoon cookies were free and delicious! Their customer service attitude is top notch. It was truly a wonderful pleasure, one to remember and reminiscence upon for years to come.

You start your day with the most wonderful breakfast and meet such wonderful guests that you immediately feel are like family. It just gets better during the day as you come and go with local activitives. Afternoon tea gives you the energy lift to finish the day with more enjoyment. Such a calming place to stay! We had a wonderful 3 night stay. Our room was spacious and very clean. The house was beautiful with an open downstairs commons area for sitting to enjoy the ocean breeze. Breakfast each day was wonderful, even accomodated a gluten-free diet (I didnt feel like I missed out at all because the gluten free version was prepared so well). Helpful innkeepers with recommendations for local restaurants and activities. Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Rhythm is a wonderful b&b that is located in a desirable spot, which is away from the crowds of town and directly across the street from the ocean. Julie, their wonderful innkeeper, makes you feel at home and can help you with anything you need. Breakfast is plentiful. There are bikes for sightseeing and the convenience of beach gear/shower and parking on site. The town's trolley can pick you up right in front of the inn which is great, you don't need to use your car often. Rhythm is a place to relax and truly makes a vacation more enjoyable. Will be back for a third time!

We hadn't stayed at the Rhythm for several year and looked forward to our recent stay because we enjoyed or prior visits. Maybe it was the time of year because we never stayed there in August, but the Rhythm was a bit worn. The beach chairs were in various states of disrepair and we had to sort through them to find one that was functional. We liked the view from the room, but the room itself needs a paint job. The water pressure in the shower was horrible. The water just dribble out. However, the service is great and you feel very welcome. You can't beat the location and we enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again.

For a relaxing spot by the sea, this is the place to be. Delicious hot breakfasts, exquisite rooms, Robyn and Julie simply warm and gracious! Once you have visited, you will always return...Enjoy!

We had another wonderful vacation at Rhythm of the Sea. We stayed in a different room this time and it was just as wonderful as the previous years room. Food was fantastic, and the people we met and talked to from different parts of the country was just so enjoyable! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! FIVE STARS.....

My husband and I have taken getaways to Cape May for about 8 years now - we've never stayed anywhere else but ROTS, or would we. From our very first visit we felt welcomed and comfortable - beautiful interior design (NON-victorian ... hard to find) and kept by owners Robyn & Wolfgang. In their absence, Julie takes over and is equally as wonderful and helpful. Ocean views, gourmet breakfasts, afternoon refreshments when we come off the beach (which is just across the avenue) - this is why we return. It feels like HOME everytime we arrive ... without the housework!

A refreshing get away..Staff was great, rooms clean as home, food was great and location could not have been batter. 5 stars!!!

Cape May was great, and this B&B is very close to most things. The bikes are very handy, and I really enjoyed using them each day. Even better they are included in the room rate. The food was good, but a little assortment would be better. Also, hot water in the evening was generally empty, so having tea was not always possible. the place was very clean, and I always appreciate that in any place I stay. I would recommend to others.

My fiance and I stayed at Rhythm of the Sea for alng weekend and really enjoyed it. It is in a primo location (right across from the beach) and in an area that is a little less busy than some of the other locations on the beach, so where we sat on the beach was not as crowded as other areas. The breakfasts were all outstanding, couldn't have asked for better food. I also really liked the lobby, very open and airy with a big pool table and a cooler with water, iced tea, and sodas to help yourself to. The room was cleaned almost instantaneously and was already done by the time we finished breakfast. The staff was wonderful and very accommodating. Highly recommend, without a doubt we are going back. I just wish it was a little less expensive but the quality was certainly worth it.

A great alternative to the more common Victorian style B&B's. There are only 8 rooms in this home so a lot of the time you felt as though you were alone and the staff is very unobtrusive. However, they do make themselves available 24/7 should you need them. The location is fabulous and the house has a wonderful enclosed front porch that opens on 3 sides so you can enjoy the refreshing breeze that comes off the ocean. They provide beach chairs and towels and you are free to use their bicycles as well. Our room was comfortable and well appointed and the breakfast was delicious. We will definitely be coming back here. Oops, I almost forgot to mention the fun billiard table in the living room!

Quiet, peaceful B&B that felt like home! We enjoyed our time there very much. A short walk across the street to the beach and a nice bike ride to downtown Washington Street area. Parking downtown was limited so we enjoyed the convenience of the Trolly when we needed a ride. Cape May is a lovely area. We really enjoyed our Sunset Dolpin Watch cruise -- saw many dolphin! Loved Island Grill near the Gazbo downtown. Food everywhere is pricey so be warned when it comes to dining ($$$). After talking to some B&B guests we learned about a great "early bird" special at Carney's. Enjoyed very much the Flag Ceremony at Sunset Beach--go early for convenient parking. A great place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

Great location, relaxing and accommodating. Conveniently located directly across from the beach, with lovely views. An easy walk to the town center. The common area is a great place to relax after the beach. I especially enjoyed relaxing on the front porch with a glass of lemonade and a good book. The breakfast and snacks are sumptuous. Overall a lovely weekend in a lovely beach town.

Spent an anniversary weekend and had a wonderful time. Easy walking distance to dining and shopping. Breakfast was spendid and we enjoyed the porches/lounges to just sit and read beside the ocean. Would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at the Carriage House. We highly recommend this to couples who enjoy privacy and a large intimate setting. It was simply perfect, with views of the ocean in both rooms. We had a chance to look over the entire main house as well, and we were impressed with the attention to detail in the well-maintained craftsman decor. The staff, Ingrid and Julie, were very pleasant and not imposing, making us feel very comfortable. We are hoping to stay there again for our twenty-fifth. It was the ideal getaway, with so much to do in that charming town!

We recently returned from another fabulour week in Cape May...mainly due to the hospitality we received at Rhythm of the Sea. Julie is a delightful host, our room was lovely and provided us with ocean sounds and beautiful ocean views, and the breaksfasts were, as always, delightfully delicious! We have been fortunate enough to stay at Rhythm of the Sea several times and it never, ever disappoints.

Rhythm of the Sea was a nice quiet place to stay and is about as close to the beach as one can get. The gourmet breakfasts were outstanding! Julie made us feel right at home. We highly recommend Rhythm of the Sea to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle of life and relax to the cool breeze and calming sounds of the ocean.

This house has the greatest covered, open-to-the-air porch in Cape May. You can sit or lounge in absolute comfort while enjoying the sea breeze and the endlessly entertaining view of the Atlantic right across the street. You'll love the welcome you receive from the innkeepers! And the breakfast and afternoon treats are fantastic - meticulously prepared and presented. Individual requests are graciously accommodated. The dining room has four tables set for 4 people each, so you have some privacy while still engaging in the interaction that B+Bs are famous for. Rhythm of the Sea is a lovely property with lots of common areas to take advantage of so you don't feel trapped in your room. Many of the original details have been preserved. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. However, they are beginning to show their age a bit - some areas could definitely use a bit of a spruce-up. If you choose to stay in the Jersey Shore Suite, you should be aware that the main bedroom has a great king sized bed, but the second room has only a (pretty rickety) single bed with a trundle that is made up as a daybed. There is another adjoining room with a queen bed that could potentially be used as part of the suite, but you should clarify that this is an option before you book. There is a rate for 2 guests in this suite and a rate for 4 guests and if there are 3 of you, you are charged the 4 person rate. There is a main bathroom with a very small sink and, right next door, a powder room, so this arrangement gives you flexibility and is very helpful. This house would be a great vacation spot for a large family or a group of friends, but the individual traveler would also feel at ease here. You'll want to come back for a second visit!

Our stay was very enjoyable. The inn was beautiful. Spent many hours in the sun porch watching the sea and reading. Julie is the perfect host. Many good local restaurants.

Great rooms, great location, the owners and innkeeper go out of their way to make your stay wonderful and they make wonderful breakfasts! I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cape May.

Perfect location across the street from the beach and just a few blocks from the bars, shops, beachside attractions, and restaurants of Cape May. The service was outstanding and accomodating. The bikes were a HUGE benefit and really added to the experience. Would definitely stay again. The beach chairs were convenient but probably should be updated, and the breakfast should probably be available for more than one hour. Overall a great stay!!!

What a marvelous B&B. Ingrid was wonderful and very in tune to our needs. Room was perfect and weather allowed open windows so breeze and waves were part of the experience. Plenty of spaces throughout the houses to sit and read and visit. Perfect place to unwind and recharge......will be back again....

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights this past week (May); we loved it. Julia was was very nice, and her breakfasts were great. The place is about .5 miles from "the action" which was a perfect distance. The house had a very homely feel, and it is literally AT the beach, where my wife and I went running and walking each morning. Julia gives you access to pretty much anything in the house, and we will definitely return. Well worth the price!

I have stayed at the B&B quite a few times and have never been disappointed. You are taken away to a very relaxing place where you can just enjoy the quiet. It is one of my favorite places.

My husband and I built a weekend getaway around our daughter-in-law's baby shower. Rhythm of the Sea was the perfect spot. Right across from the ocean, within walking distance of shops and the Washington Street Mall. We had an awesome time, and will certainly be back.

Robyn, Wolfgang and Julie are amazing hosts!!! My husband and I love not only to stay there, but we also love the passion that each has about their respective positions! My husband and I went down to breakfast and lingered over some coffee and good conversation, and when we decided to go back to our room and prepare to walk the beach- our ROOMS WERE ALREADY CLEAN!!! We just got back from a wonderful stay at the" Rhythm by the sea" Robyn and Julie made us feel like we were at home. The Inn is very charming with its beautiful furniture and comfortable and clean cozy rooms. The location of the Inn is across from where you can access to the beach. We stayed in #4 Side Porch which have wonderful views of the ocean from the large windows and spacious too !The best part of each morning was expericing the amazing breakfast that was served with hot coffee and tea. Robyn and Wolfgang thank you for making our first time experince at a Bed and Breakfast a memorable one, we will return. Susan and James

My husband and I decided we needed a few days of relaxation and we chose Cape May to unwind, since we heard from friends that Cape May was beautiful. We picked Rhythm of the Sea because of its location (the website did a good job of accurately displaying everything). Our room was comfortable, but the best part of our stay was the gorgeous views and delicious food. The breakfasts were amazing. And Robyn, Wolfgang and Julie could not have been more personable and friendly. Great place with great people. thanks!

We had a wonderful stay at Rhythm of the Sea. The room was perfect overlooking the beach. We were able to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets from our room. Lucky for us, the weather was above 50 degrees during our stay in the month of February which allowed us to leave the windows open in the evening in order to enjoy the sounds of the ocean while we slept. The caretaker of the home was very accomodating and attended to all of our needs.

Went for an anniversary weekend stay in Cape May. The room was excellent, the food good (made excellent breakfast to accomodate my vegan girlfriend), and when the weather turned cold, the fireplace and cocoa were great to come back to! We are recommending the Rhythm of the Sea to all of our friends.

Julie was fanstastic. It seems as though every little detail was covered. She was gracious and accommodating. The house was immaculate, cozy, spacious, warm, charming - the list is endless. My partner and I went for a much needed relaxing getaway and have found a new favorite B&B. We're making plans to return this year. Our quandry has been wanting to keep this found beauty to ourselves or to not be selfish and share its existance with others..

We recently stayed at the Rhythm of the Sea in Cape May. First, the Inn is gorgeous, great location and tastefully decorated. Everything was spotless and well maintained. We did not have one complaint! Our host Julie was fantastic. She did everything to make us feel welcome and right at home. She offered a lot of local suggestions regarding dinner and site seeing. Breakfast, WOW this was amazing. Everything was homemade! The homemade Granola and and yogurt was out of this world. There was so much to say about how great our breakfast was each day that I would sum it up as GOURMET! We visited the Inn during the winter and it was quiet and relaxing which we actually loved. We enjoyed ourselves relaxing with a bottle of wine by the fireplace in the main living room downstairs. We were able to enjoy each others company without distractions from others which was priceless. Our room was nice with a gas fireplace. The room was nicely decorated with a very nice bathroom, and NEAT and CLEAN! If your looking for a B&B in Cape May (Rhythm of the Sea is the only one on beach front) this place will not disappoint you. We are hoping to get back here soon. Thank you Julie for your professionalism and welcoming demeanor made our first trip to a B & B in Cape May enjoyable. Room Tip: If Traveling in Winter I recommend the rooms with a fireplace it just adds to the ambiance. Though honestly we were able to see all the rooms and they are all nice, so you will not be disappointed. The room in the front of the Inn was very large with a fantastic view of the beach. They have a refrigerator for those that wish to bring drinks such as wine, soda or water in the lobby. Parking is on the property. If your looking to get away from busy crowds and want to avoid summer crowds then I would strongly suggest winter months here it was the most relaxing two days we have had in a long time! We had a wonderful time. The room was great. The breakfasts were outstanding. And Robyn, Wolfgang, and Julie took great care of us. It was a wonderful way to spend a weekend during the holiday season. Plus Cape May was decorated beautifully for Christmas.

Julie is wonderful and very hospitable. She took excellent care of us. It's like having an extra girlfriend at the house. My friends and I do our now annual Cape May getaway weekend at Rhythm of the Sea. Very quaint, comfortable and neat & clean. The front porch is wonderful even if the weather is cold. My boyfriend and I stayed at Rhythm in mid-October and it was amazing. Our room was gorgeous and had everything we needed! It was very comfortable and waking up to the sunrise was beautiful. The food was outrageous. Best food in Cape May hands down and coffee/tea readily available all day and night. Everyone there is very sweet and personable as well as very helpful with local suggestions. Rhythm has bikes available, lovely pool table, cozy fireplace and many areas to lounge. Been to stay at Rhythm of the Sea three times now and will continue going back.

My wife and I decided to visit Rhythm of the Sea for our fifth anniversary. We couldn't be happier with our decision. Robyn and Julie were consummate hosts. The food was delicious and the setting was peaceful and inviting. We'll definitely stay there again!

Rhythm's is the best B+B in Cape May. It is our home away from home, a place we love to come to and never want to leave.

Stayed there on the weekend of Nov 5, 2011. The place is on the beach, just outside of the historic district of cape may. We enjoyed the 15 minute walk along the beach to the commercial center, loved the room, sea isle oasis, with the large, clean bathroom. Breakfast was good (though I thought my eggs were a little runny), and had a good time chatting with the other guests over breakfast. We also enjoyed all the Stickley furniture throughout the house. This was what we were looking for, and we plan to return next time we're in Cape May.

Our time at Rhythm of the Sea was AMAZING!!! Robyn was so lovely and helpful and the food was absolutely wonderful! Her husband does all the baking!!! Spectacular view - even during a Nor'easter. We will definitely be back!!!

My wife and I came for an October weekend getaway to celebrate our 40th. This B&B is top notch. It seemed our hosts, either Robyn or Wolfgang, were always available to offer advice or just chat. The rooms are excellent. We chose a room promising an ocean view and were not disappointed one bit - was exactly as we expected. I would certainly recommend Rhythm of the Sea. PD

A perfectly lovely stay at a perfectly lovely inn. We very much liked the feel of this place...a nice alternative to heavy Victorian decor. Our hosts were very pleasant, and the breakfasts were simply outstanding. A gorgeous location. On the more expensive end for us, but all in all it was worth it.

Rhythm of the Sea is a charming, seaside B&B decorated in Arts and Crafts furniture (the architectural/decorative style made famous by Frank Lloyd Wright). It is open and airy, with a large, friendly lobby and sun porches, which is a wonderful contrast to the dark, cluttered, Victorian B&Bs that predominate Cape May. The owner, Robyn, is warm, charming, and generous (she lends her guests beach bikes for no charge, has cookies and hot beverages available in the afternoon, etc.). Our room was gorgeous, fairly spacious, and tastefully decorated. We kept the windows open at night and the sea breeze was delightful. In all, we greatly enjoyed our stay at Rhythm of the Sea and will definitely stay there again.

We just got back from our stay at the Rhythm of the Sea. It was a wonderful experience as soon as we walked in the door. We were greeted by the manager, Julie, who made us feel most welcomed. The room was beautiful and well maintained. We were able to meet the owners Robyn and Wolfgang. They were such a delight to talk to and Wolfgang is quite the storyteller! :-) The breaksfasts were delicious, the property well maintained, and tjhe atmosphere calming. Thank you for an enjoyable weekend where we were pampered and relaxed within an hour of arrival. We will definitely go back.

I wanted a quiet week by the ocean, listening to the waves while being pampered in a beautiful environment, and that's exactly what I found at Rhythm of the Sea. Julie was there if needed, but not intrusive, and the weekend manager, Ingrid, was excellently welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious, and the bed was very comfy - some nights were cool, due to having my window open, and the downy comforter was just right. My favorite memory is waking early, going downstairs to the sunroom, opening the French doors to let the breeze in, and watching the people pass by with dogs, looking at the waves, and reading my book while the sun came up, all with a hot cup of coffee to sip on, and scents of breakfast being prepared wafting my way. I can't wait to return next year!

We so totally enjoyed our stay! We were greeted by the owners Robyn and Wolfgang and their two adorable 'children' (the kind with 4 legs). Robyn showed us to our room after a brief show around the house, and it was stunning - very open and airy and windows that overlooked the ocean. We relaxed with wine on the sun porch one evening and our coffee the next morning, feeling the ocean breezes blow over us! It was total relaxation, and peace - something we very much needed to put ourselves back in Rhythm with life! We highly recommend the stay - it was worth every penny! Oh and the breakfasts were outstanding as well!

My husband and I had an great time. The breakfast's were delicious. Our hosts were friendly and informative. Our only complaint was that our TV set was smaller than our laptop! We like to watch TV before we fall asleep and trying to see the TV from our bed was an eyestrain. Otherwise good location and a clean environment.

The accomodations are top notch and it is a great home away from home. Robyn and Wolfgang are the greatest host and we truly enjoy being in their company. My husband and I enjoyed our 19th anniversary at the Rhythm of the Sea.

My wife and I spent a few days at Rhythm of the Sea for our honeymoon. Both of us work and have hectic lives. All I can say is it was a refreshing and relaxing time. Its more than just a B&B, you feel at home. You access to free beach chairs, towels, bikes and out side showers as well as parking. Morning coffee on the deck watching the waves is how we spent our time. There are plenty of things to do and sites to be seen. It was a very charming turn of the century room decor. This was very refreshing. The breakfasts were quality food and just the right amount. Now at home, we learned to make a cranberry, apple juice drink that was served at breakfast time. The staff was very courteous and pleasant to chat with. I plan to return in two years.

My mother booked a suite at Rhythm of the Sea for the three of us to celebrate her 67th birthday this summer and it was so lovely. The entire weekend felt like we'd unplugged our crazy lives and gone back in time 100 years to the house's original era -- to quiet afternoons spent on the breezy porch, gazing out across the road at the ocean, reading in the lazy evenings with a glass of wine at our side, strolling down the street to look at the huge beautiful homes along the beachfront. It was just what the doctor ordered - so restful and restorative. The house is beautiful, arts-and-crafts design, large and airy, with gorgeous furnishings appropriate to the period and style. Every detail is attended to, from homemade cookies and iced tea served in the parlor to lovely soaps provided in the bathrooms. The staff are very good at anticipating your needs without interrupting the peace and quiet. There is a refrigerator for guest needs, with soda and water available for purchase. Wine glasses, games, and a billiards table are at your disposal. They even provide bikes and beach towels. The bed in our room was divine and I haven't slept so well in years. I don't know what it was, but that room was magical. Breakfast is very good, if only served at strict times - in fact one hour to be exact. If you are an early riser, you will be well rewarded. If not, there is a wonderful restaurant down the road where you can find brunch. If you are looking for a quiet seaside getaway, this is your place. Beautiful, romantic, relaxing, restorative, it's a real gem.

All I have to say is WOW!!! I originally was going to the bahamas for my anniversary weekend but my wife found this cozy escape called cape may and I thought we were just settling for less. Was I wrong, this by far has been the most relaxing vacation I have had... and I have been around. Rythm of the sea great stay!! Awesome staff felt like we were being catered by a 5 star hotel in NYC... Great breakfast.. very creative and soooo good. ;) Cant wait to go back..

Our hosts were helpful and knowledgable regarding Cape May's sights,restaurants and activities. Breakfasts were excellent. Rooms very clean and the home is well decorated, bright and open. Ample parking. They have on hand menus from almost every restaurant to help you with dining choices.you don't have to worry about your stay here so enjoy the beach, the people (very friendly), and beautiful Cape May. A very relaxing and interesting community!

My husband and I have been going to Rhythm of the Sea for 8 years. I never feel that our stays are long enough and I always want to stay longer. We have traveled all over the Caribbean and to Hawaii and stay in B+B's where ever we go. Rhythm of the Sea is the one place that I can fully relax. We arrived that August 25 and within an hour we were told that there was a mandatory evacuation the next day due to Hurricane Irene. We had taken mass transit from NYC, since we don't own a car. It was frightening position to be in. Robyn, Wolfgang and Julie did their best to calm our nerves. A very early breakfast feast was prepared for us on August 26 and Robyn drove us to the bus stop so we can head back to NYC before the impending storm. Once the storm passed, we made it back down to Cape May (this time with a Zip Car) to finish out our vacation. When it was time to leave, I wished we were able to stay longer.

Just returned from 5 days in our favorite resort town, and it was our first visit to Rhythm of the Sea. Everything was top notch from the breakfasts, baked goods put out in the afternoon, cleaniness, the extreme friendliness of Jullie and Ingrid. They even provide beach towels and bikes to ride. The room was nice, with a side window sea view, and the bath products were wonderful.The other guests were very friendly too. Nothing beats being able to walk across the street to the beach for the day, and sitting on the porch swing watching a full moon on the ocean at night. Can't wait to come back ! My fiancee and I recently stayed for two nights at ROTS for a short getaway before the start of the school year. We were looking for something relaxing, romantic and close to the beach. ROTS was the perfect choice! Our room was cozy, with a great view of the beach and it is such a quiet, peaceful environment. The food was amazing as well! Julie was very accommodating and helped us pick out restaurants for dinner each night. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return sometime soon!

Room was great, very comfortable bed. All the breakfasts were outstanding. Service was also outstanding. Will come back again.

Spacious rooms, situated across the street from the least crowded section of the beach, this is a terrific B&B.

First there was a very warm and friendly greeting on arrival. We had a lovely room with a great view of the sea. The food and service was outstanding. We will definately be back and would recommend it to our friends.

We needed an escape from the kids and regular life. Rhythm of the Sea was AMAZING. Ingrid was very available to help give advice, assistance and pleasant conversation. The breakfasts were delicious, and the proximity to the beach couldn't be better. You have to book this early and I understand why. It was a fantastic vacation and getaway. Highly recommended.

Rhythm of the Sea is a wonderful B&B inn that is in a quieter part of Beach Ave and that equals - Peace and relaxation. You can't get any closer to the beach than here and the inn makes it very easy for you to access whatever you need for a day by the ocean. Julie, the inn's manager, is extremely friendly, helpful to guide you with what to do and see as well as dining tips, just a pleasure to talk to. She has alot to do especially the summers with a full house - and makes it look easy. I wish I would have been able to meet Wolfgang and Robyn as well- hopefully the next time. This was our 5th time at Rhythm of the Sea and we'll be going back again. Julie is a great host, making sure everyone is having exactly the experience they came for. The food is amazing, both the full breakfasts and the afternoon snacks. The rooms are lovely; the entire house is welcoming. After a day at the beach or just sightseeing, we always look forward to relaxing on the porch to either read or nap. The location is perfect: right across from the beach, walking distance to some great restaurants and close enough to enjoy many attractions, but far enough away to feel some solitude. We loved our stay at Rhythm of the Sea. Six nights can be a long time if you're not happy, but our stay was seamless. Rhythm of the Sea is a perfect name for a great place to stay in Cape May.

Very beautiful B&B and worth the money for what we where looking for. Just seemed as though they skimped on some little things, e.g. the coffee was barely drinkable and didn't supply beach badges.

We are always thrilled when guests choose Rhythm of the Sea out of the many varied places to stay in Cape May. We are sorry that you did not care for our coffee. In this 'Charbucks' craze, coffee is such a personalized taste and as varied as the lodging and eating establishments in Cape May. We brew fresh ground 100% Columbian with an extra measurement than most restaurants would. We find it to be a smooth breakfast blend. It normally get rave reviews. With regards the beach tags, it is illegal for us to transfer seasonal tags and we cannot risk the implications if we do.

We've stayed at Rhythm once or twice a year since we honeymooned there in 2002, and it never fails to be a wonderful stay. The rooms are lovely and warm, and Jule and Robyn are wonderful hosts.

We picked this B&B due to the great location right across from the beach. The delightful Kiwi owner supplies beach chairs, beach towels and bikes free. Breakfast is fresh-cooked each morning 8:30-9:30 (different fixed item each morning). Robyn had great ideas for shopping. The Pier House restaurant nearby is great for dinner.

My daughter and I returned to Rhythm of the Sea for our third visit, and once again, we were made to feel completely at home. Robyn and her staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive to our every need. This year we stayed in the balcony room, which affords a beautiful view of the beach, and a lovely little balcony from which to enjoy it. The inn is an easy walk to the shops of the main stretch, yet located at a more quiet end of Beach Ave. which we prefer. We do not intend to ever stay anywhere else but Rhythm of the Sea while in Cape May.

The location is very convenient for the beach and sightseeing. Food was fantastic and rooms were private. Everything we needed for a relaxing and fun honeymoon.

This was our third trip to Rhythm of the Sea...it gets better each time. The location is fabulous (right on Beach Ave.), the inn is warm and inviting, the rooms are extremely comfortable, and the breakfasts are divine. Traveling is always a challenge for me since I suffer from celiac's disease which means that I absolutely MUST adhere to a gluten-free diet. Months before our visit to ROTS (all three trips), I contacted Robyn and Julie by e-mail and was assured that there would not be a problem with my required diet. Nonetheless, I contacted them once again shortly before arrival and Julie promptly e-mailed me back and assured me that all would be well...and she wasn't kidding. Every visit has included lovely egg dishes with gluten free toast, fabulous gluten free pancakes (with real maple syrup), and an absolutely divine gluten free Belgian waffle! As if being at the beach isn't close to heaven enough...that waffle was the cherry on top of a wonderful vacation at a fabulous inn! If you are looking for a comfortable inn with easy access to the beach...and innkeepers that are dedicated to making your stay memorable... and a bit away from the hustle and bustle...I would highly recommend Rhythm of the Sea.

My wife and I stayed at "Rythym of the Sea" the past 3 nights and it was fantastic! Julie was a very warm and gracious host to the guests. She has a terrific sense of humor and gift of conversation that makes you feel at home. We met Robyn today and she ,too, was a terrific host to everyone and als had a great sense of humor. When people go on vacation, they want to forget about the real world for a few days. Only disappointed in the breakfast entrees. Found them to be ordinary, not extraordingary! Afternoon tea and 'crumpets' were great, refrigerated water and drinks were wonderful.

My husband and I stayed at the Rhythm of the Sea recently for a short honeymoon getaway. I must say that the place was absolutely beautiful. It was a very quiet and peaceful stay and that was just what we were looking for. We loved that they had bikes, beach towels and chairs available for use at no extra charge. We definately plan on a returning to Cape May and Rhythm of the Sea. I would really like to stay here during the winter, I think it would be a very cozy and quiet winter getaway. Oh, and you can't forget the breakfast, it was amazing!

This was our first stay at Rhythm of the Sea and it was very memorable to say the least. Everything was perfect. Our room had a spectacular view of the ocean. The room had all the comforts of home down to the bed and soft pillows. The gourmet breakfasts were out of this world. The service was exceptional. This place is highly recommended and we will be returning at some point in the future.

Rhythm of the Sea is a beautiful b&b right on the shore in Cape May. I was excited as a school girl that I could see the ocean right from my bed! My complaint about our room is that the ceiling fan wobbled & sqeaked, so we couldn't run it when we were trying to sleep. We saw some of the other unoccupied rooms that were open during the day & their fans were installed securely. I've stayed in some b&b's that serve FANTASTIC breakfasts, and ROTS isn't in that category. Food was okay--first day was egg in a hole, which I make at home fairly often. I had indicated that I'm trying to follow a gluten-free diet, and Julie didn't seem to understand that this means no flour, which is made from wheat. To her credit, she did have some gluten-free bread on hand and made me some scrambled eggs on crepes day, for which I was very appreciative. Also, the coffee was mediocre. Sorry for the harsh criticism, but I've come to expect excellent coffee from b&b's, and this wasn't. One night the power went out for three hours and we were in complete darkness except for the emergency lights, which eventually went off. I called Julie, who seemed annoyed that I was bothering her, and she neglected to let me know that every room is supposed to have a flashlight in it (although our room, #7, did not have one; thankfully my husband had a flashlight in his luggage), which she told another customer who called. I was surprised that the b&b doesn't have a drawerful of battery operated lights somewhere for times like this. I did have a lovely time in Cape May. It was great being able to walk across the street to the beach. However, if I come back, I'll probably shop around more for a place to stay. I'm not saying I wouldn't stay at ROTS again, but I'd probably opt for a different room (didn't realize how much street noise we'd get).

Wow! Thanks for all the comments. 1. Ceiling fan is replaced. It took an hour and was a great upper body workout. 2. Oh, do you make your own brioche too when you make your egg in hole and do you also drizzle white truffle oil and use Havarti cheese? It's the best isn't it! 3. Of course we understand Gluten Free. We take it very seriously and know not to cross contaminate and have many gluten free products. There was gluten in the cookies we made for afternoon refreshments. Gluten 'avoidance' means you can pick and choose? 4. Our coffee is 100% Columbian and a smooth breakfast style and we grind an extra ounce each pot. If your taste is 'Starbucks' blend then you might find it light. 5. When Julie was awoken from a deep sleep please don't misinterpret her grogginess for annoyance. She was not actually told there was a power outage until a frequent guest called her too and she told him about the flashlights in each room and asked him to find you to tell you. You had asked for candles, which we frown upon, and she thought you were enjoying a romantic interlude on the side porch. She was not given concise information to know what you were referring to when you said the porch lights were out. I would like to stress communication. We appreciate knowing any issues that occur during the stay so that we have the opportunity to rectify them while you are here, not to hear on a review site after the fact. The Inn is located on a street, but not a main one. Cape May is on an Island, but not a deserted one. Rhythm of the Sea may not always be a perfect fit for everyone. Try as we may to perfect the art of Innkeeping, we sometimes fall short. We welcome comments and always learn from them.

The inn was nice - airy and open. The innkeeper (Julie) was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious all three days we stayed! We had a beautiful view of the beach and ocean from our room. Unfortunately, we did not hear the "Rhythm of the Sea" b/c we could not keep the windows open at night due to the noise from the street below (cars driving by, people talking as they walked). It seemed like an echo chamber! But overall, a nice place.

That darn road! I wish people could be a little more considerate. Luckily the speed limit is 25 mph and more lucky is that there is only one restaurant to have their patrons walk past us. Imagine how they feel in town!?

The B&B is across the street from the ocean. How lucky can you get??? The room was very clean and comfortable. The food was devine! Julie is an excellant hostess. It is conveniently located far enough away from the hustle of the crowd yet close enough for you to join in the fun. I recommend this Bed and Breakfast to everyone!

We loved the relaxing atmosphere of the Rhythm of the Sea. The food was wonderful, the service was fabulous with great attention to personal care. The porches were a welcoming place to just sit and relax while watching the wlakers and the ocean.

This was our second time at Rhythm of the Sea. At this point, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. The service has been amazing, they provide a phenominal breakfast and afternoon snack (so filling we tending to just eat dinner) and they had bikes for our use that allowed us to rarely use the car! Great location as well! Can't wait to come back!

The best bed and breakfast we have stayed in. The decor is simple but classic. The room was beautiful and spotless. The food was delicious. Cape May is wonderful place to spend a relaxing, romantic weekend. The locatation of the Rythem of the Sea is perfect if you want to be close to the ocean.

Hospitality was wonderful, food was great, quiet location, and very clean! It was nice they had bikes on the property that we could use as we wanted. A little pricy, but as to be expected with a B&B, especially this one since it was so nice.

Julie was absolutely fantastic at making sure we had anything we could want. All the food was superbly prepared, right down to the coffee and cookies. The bed and pillows were ok, not great, but this is our first b&b experience and our frame of reference is our memory foam mattress and pillows back home. The decor, the mugs, the toiletries, the robes - everything was first class. We can't wait to go back.

Rhythm of the Sea was a great weekend get away. We had the room overlooking the ocean with a private balcony. The room and bath were small, but very comfortable. If street traffic bothers you, you will hear it. Robyn was a great host and the breakfast was fantastic. Will definitely repeat.

So glad you had a relaxing time. Our house does have a very distint smell. I noticed it the very first time I walked into the building. It is due to all the wood, so rest assured there is no must here...except, you MUST return!!!

Rythym of the Sea is in the best setting for someone who wants to be right by the ocean. There is nothing to block the view between this beautiful B&B and the ocean. And access to the beach is just steps away. We found this to be a very pleasant atmosphere and the owners & staff were very helpful and accomodating. I love the decor and found everything extremely well cared for. Great sleeping with the windows open to hear the sounds of the ocean and the bed was super comfortable. We stayed on a non-weekend in May (off-season). I look forward to staying here again.

After losing our favorite Cape May B & B to a condo conversion (Columns by the Sea), we tried Rhythm. We were not disappointed and found our room to be a cut above those we had stayed in at Columns. The breakfasts are served to you over a one-hour period giving some flexibility. They are also served at tables of four which I found to be a nice change from the large single table of many other establishments. I would suggest room #1 with the private balcony as it provides exceptional views of the beach, ocean and main street.

The Rhythm is our place to escape the hustle and bustle of life. We have been coming to this B+B since 1999, and continue to come back every year. The location, breakfast and comfort brings us back year after year. There is no better place to relax than the Rhythm's. Also the spring flowers were amazing this year at the inn and throughout Cape May.

The Rhythm of the Sea is a wonderful place to stay when you are in Cape May. Julie was so welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were super delicious. It was very quiet as I was the only guest on one of my nights there but I felt secure and comfortable. The ocean views were great and my room with a fireplace was warm and cozy. Would definitely stay there again if I have the chance.

A fabulous place for a quiet getaway. We had an oceanfront room, with a fabulouse view. In comparison to some other places it was a bit pricey for off season, however you are treated like royalty, the home is spotless and the breakfasts wonderful. We highly recommend Rhythm of the Sea

From the very first phone call to Robyn, I was beyond impressed. She was pleasant and accomodating. We spent our anniversary weekend with them and felt like we were old friends when we left. Julie, the manager, was also so sweet and very helpful upon arrival. Our room was so spacious and absolutely beautiful. We loved the pooltable and fireplace as well as the chats we had with Robyn, Wolfgang and the 2 mascots Odie and Lulu. We can't say enough about their warm hospitality, divine breakfasts and gorgeous inn. We are already trying to plan our summer escape to Rhythm of the Sea.

The best part about being an Innkeeper is the wonderful people you meet. We never know who is going to walk across our threshold but we always seem to click on so many different levels. It's the ultimate when we can sit one on one for fun conversation. The pooches are not here too often unfortunately. But they do add another dimention with their antics - oh, and Wolfgang's!!!

My boyfriend and I visited Rhythm of the Sea for a weekend getaway and absolutely fell in love with the place! Julie was our innkeeper and she is truly spectacular! The inn is glorious, the breakfast to die for...I highly recommend Rhythm of the Sea as the go-to B&B in Cape May.

My wife and I spent two wonderful evenings just after the blizzard of 2010. We experienced incredible hospitality and accomodations, including filling and scrumptious breakfasts. Wasn't that storm a doosie! We were saying we lived in the snowy tundra. We love our Winter guests especially those who don't let a 'little' blizzard get in their way. No matter what the weather throws at us outside, it is always sunny and toastie inside the Rhythm of the Sea!!

Our stay at Rhythm of the Sea for y husband's birthday was completely wonderful and we would return again in a heartbeat. We had high expectations in every respect and they were all met. The overall atmosphere in particular - the comfort of the common areas, beautiful views and sounds of the ocean, and restfulness of our room - were truly outstanding. Plus, we truly enjoyed chatting with our warm, welcoming hosts and their adorable long-haired dachsunds.

My husband and I were married at the Rhythm of the Sea in the "off season" of 2008. We rented out the Inn for our family and wedding party for the whole of our wedding weekend. The pricing was beyond reasonable for all that was included with our wedding package. Robyn and Wolfgang made us and all of our guests feel completely at home. In fact, we even had guests ask if the Inn was my family's beach house! The service throughout the weekend and cocktail reception was outstanding. People still rave about our tastful small wedding and Wolfgang's delicious fare. Robyn was brilliant when it came to working with all of our special requests as well. We hope to be able to spend an anniversary at the Rhythm of the Sea in the near future.

The food surpassed our expectations. The pictures on the website don't do the rooms justice because they were beyond amazing. The hostess was very helpful and I can't recommend The Rythmn of the Sea enough.

I was expecting a lot more. Rhythm of the Sea was just average. It wasn't bad but should be so much better for the money they charge.

Wolfgang, Robyn & Julie are exceptional hosts. Their warm and friendly personality is an absolute compliment to a great bed & breakfast that eptiomizes comfort, cleaniness and a genuine "I'm home" type of atmosphere. Wolfgang's late afternoon home made & baked "snacks" served by the fireplace with fresh hot coffee and tea only serves to reinforce what a great place this is. This will make our 9th year in a row that we have stayed with Robyn & Wolfie.......they are like family now. We love this place and look forward to our stay each and every time. A very friendly, comfortable B&B! We enjoyed the "make yourself at home" atmosphere. You really do feel welcome to hang out in the gathering rooms and the afternoon teas are yummy! The breakfasts are outstanding!

This is our 3rd year staying at the Rhythm of the Sea. We absolutely love staying in the carriage house. It provides ample space for our 1 1/2 year old son to play around in. The layout of the room also allows us to put our son down for the night in the bedroom while we hang out in the front room and watch movies without disturbing him. Breakfast is delivered to us at 9am (by our request) and we are literally a hop, skip, and jump away from the beach! The Innkeepers, Robyn and Wolfgang Wendt & Julie McElroy are WONDERFUL and VERY helpful with getting you acquanted with the area.

We enjoyed staying at this B & B for numerous reasons: the Arts and Craft decor is beautifully appointed; the breakfasts were sumptous and delicious; and the proximity of our room to the view of the ocean was perfect and the proprietors exceeded all of our expectations for superlative service. I thought the breakfast would have had a buffet component along with a specialty item choice such as how you want your eggs cooked. Also, free WiFi would have been a good feature.

We appreciate your comments. Each Bed and Breakfast offers their own twist on breakfast and we are lucky to have a professional chef in our kitchen who prepares guests breakfast individually, prepared to their liking. Advance notice is nice for specific preferences and we are happy to accommodate. We feel a buffet item would detract from his expertise and besides, we like to serve you! We sure do have free WiFi too.

Although we found the accomodations to be a bit pricey, I guess it was standard for Cape May B&B. The room was small, but the living space of the B&B more than made up for it with wonderful views of the ocean. The breakfast was elegantly prepared and filling. Being across the street form a walk on the beach was the highlight of our stay.

My new bride and I went to Rhythm of the Sea for a quick getaway after our wedding and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Robyn was a wonderful host and Wolfgang's breakfast was scrumptious. Robyn and Julie were both very helpful when it came to restaurant/activity suggestions. I would definitely recommend Rhythm of the Sea to anyone looking for a relaxing time in Cape May.

Perfect weather. Perfect location oceanfront. The innkeeper accommodated our vegetarian diet by making us oatmeal while the other guests had crab meat omelettes and crab meat breakfast burritos. The decor was a welcome departure from the flowery Victorian decor of the rest of Cape May. Overall, a very nice place to stay.

If you're visiting Cape May, be sure to stay at Rhythm of the Sea. The rooms are beautiful, most with sea views, and the food outstanding. Robin and Wolfgang and of course, Julie, gave me a beautiful space to de-stress from life and I met some wonderful people staying at the Inn. I sat on their spacious front porch or by my bedroom window, just letting the "rhythm" of the sea lull me into peace.

Very nice B & B in a perfect location. You can sit on the porch and watch the Ocean in very peaceful surroundings. The owners are awesome and the good was incredible. Can't wait to go back!

2 night stay in September. Great location - right across from the beach. Great breakfast. Quiet at this end of Cape May; short walk into town. Never had to use the car. On site parking. Bikes available but needed some work. We would definitely return.

Wonderful 2 days at the Inn. The location across from the beach is fantastic... great oceans views from bed! We stayed in room #1 with the balcony and enjoyed every minute. Cape May is a super town to bike around and explore. We will be back!

Nice rooms, very clean, nice breakfasts. However, the afternoon tea/cookies, etc we never had. Came off beach at the required time but no snacks, no staff around. That was our only disappointment I would suggest taking your own beach chairs and beach towels.

Our July 2009 stay at Rhythm of the Sea was our first but certainly not our last. This B&B is the perfect spot in Cape May to get away from it all but still be within a short stroll or bike ride to the heart of town. Our stay was during the peak summer season and the area surrounding the inn never seemed crowded. The beach is great and the inn itself was casually luxurious. Robyn and Wolfgang's service and attention to detail were unsurpassed. They are genuinely nice people who go out of their way to please their guests. My wife and I stayed in room #4 with a nice side ocean view. The bed was very comfortable and the Stickley furnishings were of the highest quality. I am absolutely shocked that another reviewer rated every single category as unsatisfactory. Some people are just impossible to please, it really broke my heart to read that review because it's so obvious that the owners put so much effort into ensuring that everyone enjoys their stay. Please ignore that totally unfair review and look at the trend among the dozens of reviews before it, nearly everyone loves this place and for good reason. We live in upstate New York and would gladly make the 5-hour drive again and again to this place. If you're looking for an unpretentious, relaxing, comfortable getway in beautiful surroundings, look no further than this B&B. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and the staff took the time to connect with each guest personally, you really feel valued here. My wife has a serious food allergy and, though it was unexpected, they went totally above and beyond to accommodate her to make sure she had a nice breakfast each day. They even shopped for special ingredients for her. How many places would have done that? Not many! Just about every other guest we spoke with had stayed there half a dozen times, and that says something about the consistent quality of this inn. We're already looking forward to our next stay in the summer of 2010.

This was our first trip to Cape May and we loved Rhythm of the Sea. The breakfasts were amazing! I would be back for those alone...but then add in being right across from the ocean and just a short jaunt to the shops. Robin even accomodated us with an earlier breakfast because we had a reserved ferry time for our return trip. I could not have asked for more hospitality and that's a lot coming from a southern girl. We usually go to Charlestown, SC or Savannah, GA for our Bed and Breakfast trips but Rhythm of the Sea rivaled our favorite B&Bs there! We'll be back!

Room was dark and dingy. Bathroom had a shower stall that was built for midget. TV was so small I needed a telescope to see it from across the room. The bed was very squeaky. Front porch only had seating for six people to relax. Breakfast was only served from 8:30 to 9:30 am, no exceptions. This unfortunately turned us off from returning to Cape May.

Thank you for your gift of constructive criticism. We appreciate knowing the things you brought to our attention as we are constantly working to improve our facility. The ‘Atlantic Vista’ room is sun-lit all day long and is ‘enveloped in a bold floral, rich mocha and sunny hues of yellow’. ‘Dark and dingy’ is subjective. Even though the ensuite bathroom is a nice size the shower stall is 28” with no way to enlarge it. We will post the stall size on our web site so that there are no surprises for our guests of more stature. The bed squeak was an easy fix! Our ‘Stickley’ beds are made to the highest standards of heirloom quality and all solid wood. Sometimes the humidity of the sea air can cause this to happen. Thanks to your comment regarding the TV a larger television has been installed on a TV cabinet. Our front porches face the beach. There are four groupings of seats spread between three porches enough for 10-12 guests. It is rare that all of these seats are in use at once. In an effort to accommodate everyone, breakfast is served, and individually cooked, between 8:30 am and 9:30 am. As a small facility, we only have staff for a few hours in the morning and then the business day begins! There are no rules, simply guidelines. Our food is one of the main draws that bring guests back year after year. It is a pity you did not mention anything at check in, when we told you our breakfast times, about your preference for a later breakfast because we have made exceptions before. We hope that you will not let your dissatisfaction with us deter you from visiting Cape May again. With 62 bed and breakfasts in town there is bound to be something to accommodate your needs. It is a pity we were not given the opportunity to rectify these issues during your stay. Perhaps then you would have experienced a positive visit and could have reviewed us more graciously. We found Rhythm of the Sea not only beautiful, but very comfortable, homey and romantic - everything we were looking for in a relaxing getaway. The rooms, oceanfront views and food were all fabulous. But it was the innkeepers, Wolff and Robyn, who really made the trip special. From the moment we arrived, they were like old friends. They are both fascinating, warm and funny, and the times we spent chatting over coffee or a glass of wine were our most memorable moments of the trip. We only met the manager, Julie, at rthe end of our stay, but she was equally friendly and helpful. We will definitely be going back!

This was our first bed and breakfast stay! Rhythm was great - very open, neat and welcoming! The breakfasts were great! Modern upgrades (flat screen TVs and air conditioning in rooms, wireless internet) were welcome to our weekend away! We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back!

We just love returning year after year! It's like going to a second home and visiting our second family. Rhythm of the Sea is the best place in Cape May to unwind and enjoy some laughter. No one can beat their breakfasts!

We were here for the Jazz Festival, and our accomodations were perfect! Gracious hosts, and wonderful breakfasts. We will return.

Neophytes to the Jersey Shore Bed & Breakfast experience, we were initiated when invited to a wedding in Cape May. Considering my husband's propensity for always being able to find something wrong no matter where we go, I was not going into the weekend with great expectations; what a magnificent surprise!!!!!!!! From the moment we walked through the entrance and were greeted by Julie, to the sad farewell to Robyn & "Otie", we were made to feel more welcome than I thought possible. Wolfgang's breakfasts were amazing, the rooms serene, quiet, and comfortable. We are endlessly grateful to have discovered this Cape May gem, and are so anticipating our next visit. Thank you Wolfgang, Robyn and Julie for all that you did to provide us with a superb escape!
