Mooring B & B

My husband and I recently stayed at The Mooring and the experience was better than we expected. We have stayed at many B&B's in Cape May and by far this was the best! It was extremely clean, Vince and Leslie were outstanding hosts and the breakfasts were stupendous, as well as the afternoon teas. We definitely will be going back. In fact, we believe this is the only B&B we will stay in at Cape May in the future.

My wife and I have been to a few B&B's, and by far this was the best. Wonderful atmosphere, clean,relaxing and inviting!! Breakfast was awesome and coffee available 24/7! Vince is a great guy.....extremely helpful with everything you need to know about Cape May. We definitely would recommend it to friends and family!!

My husband and I stayed this past weekend and had an amazing experience! We stayed in Room 14. This room doesn't have a tv but who needs one with all the great books provided? :) The room was very elegant, spacious and immaculate. Vince was beyond helpful and accommodating (he called several restaurants for us just to see if they were still seating for late dinners!). Leslie's breakfasts are to die for!!! You definitely don't want to miss her French toast and Greek yogurt. Thank you for an amazing stay and I'm looking forward to staying there again!

Our room was very nice and worth the walk up to the 3rd floor. Breakfast on both days was delicious. Coffee and tea available at any time. Vince is great and knowledgeable about what to see and do in Cape May. It was our first time at The Mooring, but I'm sure it won't be our last.

My 1st time at a Bed & Breakfast & I am spoiled forever! Vincent was amazing, the staff was very friendly. The Mooring is now my home away from home.! The house is beautifully decorated, our breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, a nice quiet neighborhood located one block from the beach, shops, restaurants and broadwalk. We had a romantic weekend in a beautiful house by the sea.

Vince at the Moorings was so friendly and welcoming. He gave us advice and suggestions on where to go and eat. It was like we met up with a long lost friend. Both suites were beautiful! Our smaller room was great too! The place was very clean and had a great breakfast. Tea time is a nice touch too! We will definitely return!

Perfect area, perfect room with great balcony view. Very friendly people and service and extremely clean. The Mooring displays beautiful antique pieces throughout its home but with modern rooms and bathrooms. Highly recommend, especially to those looking for an intimate getaway!! Loved it!!

This was the first time I visited Cape May N.J. It was also our first time at a B&B.My daughter and her husband gave both her/his parents a weekend at the Mooring as a thank you for their wedding.The first person to greet us was Vince. A wonderful down to earth person. It was like old friend getting together.A big hello and smile. .The staff could not do enough to make our stay warm and friendly.There are hundreds of B&B in Cape May but from my experience and listening to the other guest who were there said the same about the people (Staff) outstanding. My boyfriend and I have stayed here the past two years now for our anniversary. We love this place, and will keep coming back! The breakfasts are always amazing and Vince and Leslie (and the other folks who work there) are so nice!

We LOVED our stay at the Mooring! We stayed in Room 1 on the first floor. The room was gorgeous, and despite being near the door was surprisingly private. The breakfasts were excellent and I appreciated having access to a fridge to store food and beverages while we were there. Vince's recommendations for local dining were spot on! We would definitely recommend the Mooring!

Went down for a romantic time with the wife and got just that. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The place was quite and a wonderful spot. Can't wait to go back again!

Great rooms, very clean ,excellent service .the breakfast were outstanding each morning. They offer several different choices of meals as well as fresh fruit and breads in addition to their outstandung coffee. Best choice we ever made and would use them again hands down!!

My wife and I reserved a "regular" room at the Mooring w/o t.v. and w/o assigned parking. We were greeted by Vince who very thoughtfully had kept street parking for us right in front of the B&B. That was an indicator of the kind, attentive service that marked our stay at the Moorings. Our room was fairly large, bright and airy. There was a small bathroom with shower that was well designed for a limited space. All linens and toiletries were nice and in adequate supply. Our host recommended two dining choices, one of which, The Washington Inn was excellent and deserves a return visit. Breakfast at the Mooring was a delight. In addition to a buffet with a variety of fruit and sweet or savory baked goods, greek yogurt was on offer garnished with honey, fruit, and glazed pecans. As if all of this wasn't enough, there is a daily "french toast" or egg offering. This made for a wonderful start of the day and at least equalled anything that we have had anywhere. I highly recommend the Mooring. It is in the charming Victorian tradition of Cape May.

Rooms were over all very nice. One room had sink in main room ( #1) which was ok, but we had to transfer to a second room (#11) and the shower size was so small I could not move away from the water without bumping into the wall. Rooms are charmingly decorated and very nice size. The service is outstanding and very helpful and friendly. Very clean and a good value for Cape May, I think even though it was our first time visiting there. The breakfasts and afternoon tea were outstanding.Every day they offer a different type of french toast ( with apples , bananas, coconut) or a savory ( scrambled eggs prepared a different way) or just regular scramble. They also cut up a wide variety of fruit and their yogurt concoction is delicious. They also make a strata, put out bread and have a pumpkin or banana loaf. For tea, they put out iced tea and some sort bread pudding and cookies. In other words, they go all out.. The front porch is great to sit on also. I would definitely stay there again if I go back to Cape May.

but the time here at the Mooring was impressive. We've stayed at a number of B&B's in Cape May but the Mooring was by far was the best. Beautiful home, rooms and an unequaled cleanliness will have us coming back again, but with a lot more time to stay.

Can't get enough of Cape May and the Mooring! We love room 10 with it's view! Breakfasts were outstanding, as always! Many thanks to Leslie and Vince for their gracious hospitality and experienced dinner suggestions! 355 (+-) days to go until our next visit!

I come to the Mooring every year for my birthday and cannot wait for my visit every summer. The location is perfect - one block from the beach and arcade, and within walking distance to places like Cabanas and lots of shopping, but still quiet. The innkeepers Vince and Leslie are just wonderful - very hospitable. The rooms are a great value and most come with a parking space, which is ideal. You can't go wrong staying at The Mooring. Ask about their "picnic at the winery" package through the Cape May Winery too - it's a great way to spend a birthday afternoon!

My husband and I stayed at The Mooring during the week of August 6, 2012. I booked this B&B solely on the web site reviews (which were unilaterly exceptional) and it did not disappoint. As a self professed gernaphobe, our room was extremely clean (though I could have used more room in the bathroom). The breakfasts were delicious (thank you, Leslie!), while the afternoon teas added to the overall charm. Vince could not do enough to make sure our stay was wonderful. We will definitely go back to The Mooring.

The Mooring is a beautifully decorated B&B with marvelous service, amenities and atmosphere. It is highly recommended for those who appreciate the charm and elegance of Cape May. Room 10 has private access to the second floor porch, so we rarely used air conditioning as the ocean breeze provided comfortable slumber. The Mooring was an exceptional Bed and Breakfast located in a fantastic position literally minutes to the beach, shopping, historical sites, and several major transportation routes. Vince and his staff / family at the Mooring were phenomenal; all aspects parking, outdoor showers, the spaces, cleanliness, and food service. attention to detail inside and out were Top notch period!! Vince was one of the most gracious hosts i have ever meet eager to serve and please whenever possible the Mooring deserves ever bit of credit they receive. The Mooring is perfectly located in Cape May: 1 block from beach 5-6 blocks from Washington St. Mall and restaurants. Leslie and Vince do the small things right, such as providing an outdoor shower for those who've already checked out but want to spend the day at the beach. This was our fourth summer at The Mooring, and we've already booked for next year.

Just some suggestions for the room (14) in which we stayed: a little table for writing; a larger shower or removal of the shower rack. We fit fine, but larger customers might have some difficulty. The customer service was unsurpassed. We were comfortable and relaxed. Vince and Leslie definitely know how to run a B&B. They are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay an enjoyable one. Our room price did not include a parking space, but Vince made sure we had one when we needed one. He paid attention to the little details that other establishments would easily miss. Thanks Vince and Leslie. We'll definitely be back. :)

Leslie and Vince have created one of the best B&B's in Cape May through their attention to detail and their impeccable eye for style and decor. We've come to the Mooring for years now and we are never disappointed - each visit is restful and relaxing. Leslie has developed the Mooring breakfast menu that includes the choice of a savory egg dish, a specialty sweet dish (like coconut cream French toast), or Greek yogurt with fruit and nuts - along with fresh fruit and fresh baked muffins and bread. We love to sit on the broad front porch in the mornings to drink coffee and read the newspaper. And the location can't be beat - just a block away from the beach. I'd love to keep it our secret, but also, we want others to know that Leslie and Vince are incredible hosts - with the inside scoop on local restaurants and shopping. The Mooring is a beautiful, immaculate boarding house that we will come back to again and again. Definitely 5 stars on all accounts!

Once again, my stay at the Mooring was a great one. Vince is more than accommodating and always has suggestions on where to eat and shop. It feels like home, if your home is a georgious Victorian with a gourmet cook for breakfast! I almost didn't share, I want to keep it for myself.

This was a nice place and convenient location although I would not stay here in the summer again. We had a room on the third floor- nice room- but - the house had no air conditioning except our room. We sweated just walking up the stairs to get to the room. The bathroom did not get cooled off from a/c either. Host was helpful in dining suggestions and gave a map of the town.

Leslie and Vince go out of their way to ensure that all of their guests are comfortable and well informed about the comings and goings, in and around Cape May. Their affable personality combined with an immaculate inn makes this a very pleasurable stay that we have looked forward to for over 7 years.

This was our 9th stay at the Mooring. We keep going back, for the comfort,the quiet, the cleanliness,the fabulous breakfast which is served to you and of course for Leslie and Vince. They are the friendliest, most helpful hosts you would hope to have at a B & B. It always feels like a home away from home. Anything you need Vince makes sure you have it asap. Totally enjoyed our Mother/Daughter trip to Cape May and stay at the Mooring B&B. Excellent location for getting to shopping, restaurants and the beach. Was especially happy the Inn provided parking. Everything was perfect and Vince was an excellent host. Will definitely return.

This was our sixth weekend at the Mooring and first in many years. We stayed in a large third floor bedroom with an updated bathroom with a large shower. This is unique for a B&B. We appreciated the upgrades which have taken place since our last visit and the food and service to be excellent. We love the Mooring's location, which allowed us to keep the car parked and walk to the beach, stores and restaurants.

I would highly recommend The Mooring B&B. Vince & Leslie could not have been more accommodating. Everything was beyond our expectations and am looking forward to our next stay.

Beautiful Victorian furnishings, wonderful location, rocking chairs on the porch, but the breakfast and afternoon tea were the deal clinchers! Healthy AND decadent breakfast selections.

Wonderful house, wonderful hosts, wonderful food and beautiful surroundings. Refrigerators near the dining room and on the third floor are made available to the guests --a great plus for special needs. Rockers on the porch and comfortable living room. Spacious rooms. Vince's directions to everywhere were great. Just one block from the beach. An easy, relaxing getaway.

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs between Ny and NJ and without a doubt the Mooring was our favorite! From the time we entered this lovely guest house we felt right at home. Vince and Leslie are warm and wonderful hosts and they do everything possible to make the stay completely enjoyable. The room was lovely and spacious and we had a porch that looked out to the ocean. From our initial greeting, Vince and staff could not have been more hospitable and welcoming. The room was magnificent only outdone by the superb breakfast entrees. Our vacation was excellent and memorable due to the Moorings.

First time we did a B & B it's usually a Hotel. I don't think I'll ever do a Hotel again unless a B & B isn't available. The owners were very peronable and friendly, also very helpfull on where to dine in their town. The atmosphere is impecable compared to a Hotel.

This was my first time staying at a bed and breakfast and after staying at The Mooring I would definitely do it again! The room was homey and not tacky and Vince was extremely friendly and helpful! and of course the breakfast was delicious. STAY HERE.

We stayed for two nights during the local music festival. The host is very welcoming, the setting is nice, quite close to the water front in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent breakfast, well served. We recoomend renting bikes to get around in Cape May. Overall, a very nice place, a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Our visit to Cape May was most exceptional from the very personal service from Vince, and his great ability to make you feel so at home, to the fabulous breakfasts with the most wonderful craft breads from Philadelphia, (something I will not forget), and the very special treats for the beginning of the day, excellent choices, and fresh and local ingredients! The atmosphere is full of good things here, due to the fact that Vince and Leslie have lovingly restored and cared for the Mooring. The time and the care shows so well in this 1899 home. Rm 10 is most exceptional with a full porch on the second floor, viewing the ocean in the most splendid town of Cape May, a time we will not soon forget. Thanks again to Vince for all the great advice and direction to enjoyment! In admiration for all the hard work and creativity in the on going restoring, impressive!Enjoyed the vivacious Emily,and Mike,working for their first Summer at The Mooring. We highly recommend The Mooring !

Our stay at the Mooring was exactly what we expected, the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. Our host Vince was exceptionaly inviting and helpful. I would recommend the Mooring to friends and family. I think the location is just right if you prefer walking around town, close to the beach and near the shopping areas and many eateries.

The mooring exceeded our expectations, our room which was advertised as a smaller room was plenty large enough for the two of us, the service was outstanding and the breakfast was exceptional. We will be back again.

We had a marvelous two night stay at The Mooring. The Inn was charming and extremely clean. Our room, number 18 was lovely! The breakfast both mornings was wonderful. Vince was personable and helpful. Only one thing would have made our stay A+, the young lady who waited at breakfast on both days was not properly dressed for her position. Stained and ripped clothing is not acceptable. She should have been more professionally attired.

Our second visit to The Mooring was even more enjoyable than the first: we both loved the privacy and comfort of Room 2. Breakfast is a real treat; our likes and dislikes were respected. Loved The Mooring. We got a great welcome from Emily on arrival. Our room was very pleasant and comfortable. Vince was there to offer restaurant recommendations and make reservations, give directions and supply sun screen when he found out we had none with us. We loved relaxing on the porch when we weren't out and about, and the blueberry crumb French toast was incredible! Our one word description for our weekend...Perfect!

Our weekend stay at the mooring was fabulous. Great service, friendly and helpful. The decoration of the B&B was the best I have ever seen and have been to numerous establishments across the country. I give this B&B my highest rating

The room we stayed in was lovely, the breakfasts and overall service was superior to most we have stayed at. The location and personal parking space is also a strong positive. We will be happy to return.

My husband and I stayed here for the first time and had a really enjoyable experience. Upon arriving at the Mooring, we were greeted at the door by one of the owners, Vince, who is full of energy and extremely nice. Vince gave us the grand tour of the B&B and then showed us to our room. The house itself is really very special. Every single thing has an antique flare to it, whether it be the cups used for morning/afternoon tea, the couches, photos on the wall, staircase, decor, etc. You really feel like you step back in time when you're here. You can tell the owners take immense pride in the appearance and are constantly maintaining the house. The location is great! It took us 10 minutes to walk to the town center and it's just steps away from the beach. The breakfasts were phenomenal and the service was great. Vince suggested several local restaurants and even offered to call and make our reservation which was really helpful as we had never been to Cape May before. Only a few minor disappointments. Our bed was really uncomfortable and could certainly use an upgrade (we stayed in room #2 with the private entrance/kitchen/parking). We both woke up with back aches because the mattress is sinking in the middle Also, because room #2 is located on the bottom floor, you hear every single noise in the house. The kitchen must be located right behind our bathroom because we could hear full on conversations from the staff starting at 7 am which made for sleeping in on our vacation impossible. Also, we were woken up by the other guests coming down the squeaky stair case from the upper floors each morning as well. I suppose the noise comes with the territory of an old house though. All in all, we really enjoyed our B&B experience and would definitely come back. We would just request a different room on one of the higher floors to avoid the noise.

I just want to thank the Staff at the Mooring for making our stay a perfect one. From the unbelievable breakfast each morning to the romantic room setting to the free wine tasting tour, my wife and I will surely return. This is the best B&B in Cape May. Alan and Corinne

This was our first time staying in a bed and breakfast. We were not disappointed. Everything was great.

My husband and I just spend the weekend at the Mooring and it was Wonderful! We have stayed at other bed and breakfast's in Cape May, but this was by far the BEST! When we arrived we were greated by the owner Vince, and he was very friendly and if you needed anything was always there for you. The room that we stayed in was perfect. Very clean, roomy and a very comfortable bed! The best was the wonderful breakfast the was prepared by Leslie! Our first day we had the coconut french toast, it was the best I have ever had, until Sunday came and then I had the peach french toast. What my husband and I liked so much about staying at the Mooring is that they offer you a choice at breakfast. That is very nice, but when we go back, I will be looking forward to the french toast! We are already making plans to go back in October to celebrate our anniversary and we will stay in another room! Cant wait!

We stayed at this B&B April 2012 and I must say, this place has set the bar for great service and delightful cozy rooms. Vince and Leslie were gracious and extremely helpful. As a couple that travels often, we could not have picked a better place. You definitely get what you pay for and more!

So...as soon as we were greeted by Vince we felt right at home. Vince greeted us at the door by first name, like guest that he was expecting for a holiday gettogether. He was very informative about the local restaurants and was able to get us a reservation at the Oyster Bay which was absolutly fabulous!! Vince was able to give us a last minute reservation on columbus day weekend, which we were so very thankful for!! We had gorgeous weather for the two days that we were there. In the morning for breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious sit down breakfast of fresh fruit, and peach french toast which was out of this world. We stayed in room #1 which was perfectly cozy and just a few steps from the front porch where my fiance and I enjoyed a glass of wine together. The Mooring is only a block from the beach, and also just a little further of a walk to the outside town mall. Vince I thank you again for making a wonderful memorable weekend happen for us!!!

Another great visit to my favorite bed and breakfast. The room was immaculate. Vince is so welcoming and what a terrific breakfast. I can't wait to go back.

We stayed at the Mooring for 3 nights. The inn was beautiful and very clean. The suite was great, private entrance off the portch, king size bed, claw foot tub, and a mini kitchenette off the main room. Cozy place. Beautiful building and furnishings. Breakfast was outstanding! From the coconut french toast, pancakes, eggs, to the fresh fruit and yogurt. Vince and Leslie were incredible....This was our first time in a B&B in Cape May and we hope to do so again at the Mooring! L&M

The room (which was advertised as the smallest) was very nice. Plenty of space and really all that was needed for our stay. My only complaint would be there was no tv. The upside was it motivated us to get out more. Owners were extremely friend and breakfast was delicious. Location was also great being within walking distance to everything. I would highly recommend and hope to return.

The Mooring is a lovely place to stay. Its located one block from the beach and has a warm and welcoming atmopsphere. Vince is an exceptional host! He makes you feel very much at home which is one reason why I would return and also recommend it to anyone looking for a charming B&B.

Our stay was relaxing. The suite was really nice, the king size bed was great and very comfy. Comforts of home, with great service and hospitality.

The room was lovely, with beautiful stained glass windows and a small sitting area by a bay window. It was convenient, comfortable, clean and quiet. Enjoyed the front porch and rocking chairs. Breakfast was delicious, with a choice between sweet and savory. Yogurt, fresh fruit, juice and bread were also available. Being tea drinkers, we also enjoyed the varied selection of teas available. The host made you feel right at home, was very amiable and helpful. Will definitely visit again.

My husband and I stayed at the Mooring for 2 nights in celebration of our 25th anniversary. The inn was beautiful and very clean...our room had 2 sets of floor to ceiling stained glass french doors which led onto a porch with rocking chairs and a view of the ocean. The breakfasts were outstanding! Vince and Leslie were so friendly and hospitable....This was our first time in Cape May and we hope to make it an annual trip and will definitely be at the Mooring!

My wife and I just spent Labor Day weekend at the Mooring and all I can say is that the experience was indeed "Outstanding".... Let me first start with the hospitality of two exceptional individuals. Leslie and Vince were a pleasure to do business with and they both made us feel like we were members of their own families. Vince has a long time knowledge of the area having lived in Cape May all of his life. From the restaurants to sightseeing and local activities - he is a wealth of informaiton. From the first time I spoke with Leslie to the day she sat with us and chatted over breakfast, we found her to be an absolute joy in every way from her cooking to the way in which the reservations were handled, once again we were made to feel special. We found the room matched the character of the "Inn". Well maintained and beautifully decorated. The antique style went well with the overall ambiance. The grounds were also well maintained and we can't forget the welcome bag with beach towels which was a nice touch. Now let's not forget the other "B" in Bed and BREAKFAST.... All we can say is WOW.... Leslie did a exceptional job in food preparation and visual appeal not to mention wonderful flavor and quality. From the Greek Yogurt to the coffee all was just perfect. Vince's style of service was laid back, fun and enjoyable. A priviate table for each couple was a great way to enjoy breakfast and with the dinning room overlooking the parlor it was a nice way to start the day. This was the first experience that my wife and I ever had in a B&B and we can say without hesitation that this experience has made us B&B people from now on. We plan on many more weekends with Vince and Leslie and if you are planning a weekend in Cape May, be sure to include the Mooring as the place to stay... You will NOT be disappointed....!!!!!!!!!!!

We love this place! Leslie takes this place up a notch! There are always pleasant changes when we return. Vince is alway helpful and ready to answer any questions we may have. Can't wait to go back.

Stayed in room2. It was a lovely place and had a great time. Would definitely go back again. The weather was wonderful, air conditioner not needed and we could hear the ocean at night with the windows open.

My wife and I stay at the Mooring for a week or so every August. We are thinking about staying twice a year in the future. Leslie and Vince treat us like old friends and make us feel like guests in their home. Vince is a storehouse of Cape May knowledge and has never given us a bad piece of advice. The breakfasts are imaginative and always superb. We have stayed in several of the rooms. Each has its own individual charm, but they are all delightful; clean, well-maintained and beautifully appointed. Little things like afternoon tea taken on the porch or in the charming, victorian sitting room bring a level of civility that is often missing elsewhere.

We have stayed at this Bed and Breakfast three times and we love it. Vince and Leslie are perfect hosts.The rooms are clean and beautiful. We love sitting on the porch drinking the delicious homemade ice tea and eating the cookies. But the best thing of all is the delicious breakfast especially the Blueberry French Toast that has cream cheese in it. We will be returning to the Mooring many times in the future.

We've been staying at the Mooring for years and consider it home. It is extremely neat and clean with yearly upgrades. Their 10 rooms/suites are very comfortable (have stayed in #2, 10, 12, and 16 several times) and beautifully decorated. Leslie and Vince take pride in their B&B and are wonderful hosts who treat you like family. Their breakfasts are delicious with daily sweet/savory choices. They are constantly reinventing their menus of french toasts, belgian waffles, and egg dishes so that there is always something new. It wouldn't be summer without staying at the Mooring!

We had a wonderful 4 night stay at the Mooring and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and environmentally conscience B&B that offers a delicious breakfast, gracious host and location that is close to Washington Plaza and the beach.

We recently spent several nights here and it was just delightful. This is a beautiful and tastefully decorated inn, thanks to the talented Leslie, and Vince is just a truly wonderful host. His suggestions on eateries and places to visit were right on and he takes personal pride in making sure his guests are contented. They serve a continental breakfast with a hot entree that is just delicious, such as the apple french toast and banana pecan waffles. Close to the beach, the historic district and walking distance to the mall, this place has it all. We'll be back!

My wife and I have just returned from our July respite at The Mooring. Let me start off by saying, “It is very hard to say exactly what’s BEST about Vince and Leslie”, only because they do so many good things right. With their attention to detail, they do an excellent job of running this B&B. A stop over at The Mooring certainly has to be at the top of any one’s… ”Must Stay While in Cape May” list…. that is anyone who knows anything about Cape May B&Bs. The original purpose of The Mooring was as a Guest House. The ambience of the relaxed and refreshing B&B atmosphere that Vince and Leslie provide is reminiscent of those days of old. This, combined with a go out of their way attitude to ensure guest satisfaction, makes The Mooring a special experience. It is certainly one that we look forward to and enjoy as much as possible. We just returned from another relaxing 5 night stay at the Mooring, a summer tradition that we hope to keep! Our first time in Cape May and we had a great time here. The inn is close close to both the beach and the main shopping and restaurant areas, everything is pretty much within walking distance. The neighborhood is delightful, perfect for a bike ride or walk in the evening. Of course, that's if you can tear yourself away from that big shady front porch where there always seems to be a breeze. We were there on two of the hottest days of the year, and our room on the third floor was a little warm (although beautiful and very comfortable bed.) Hated doing it, but had to leave the window unit on all day as it took just too long to cool down if you turned it on after you got in at night. The best part of this place is Vince. He knows this town and everything he recommended was spot on. Breakfasts were hearty and different each morning. We also appreciated the little extras like a refrigerator available to guests, beach towels, coffee available all day, etc. You can't go wrong here. Thanks, Vince. Mary and Bob

If you want unpretentious, yet upscale, visit the Mooring. This was our tenth trip here, I think, and it never fails to please. Warm, inviting, great food, stellar service...and an unbeatable location. Not overly fancy or stuffy - just relaxing and comfortable. The innkeepers take care of every need, right down to a well-stocked outdoor shower. Vince is a Cape May native and can tell you anywhere to go, from a fabulous restaurant to the best surfing spot. And Leslie's breakfasts are second to none. Treat yourself to this wonderful getaway!

We have been coming to this place since 1993. Leslie has always been a great cook and innkeeper, friendly but unobtrusive. Vince is a gregarious fellow always ready with a joke or reliable advice on food and entertainment choices. In the last few years, they have renovated the building and improved the landscaping, so that now it's even more comfortable and attractive. I highly recommend it as a perfect place to relax for a week, especially at the afternoon tea on the breezy terrace.

My husband and I stayed at the Mooring in Cape May, NJ for 3 nights in July. This was planned at the last minute and we were very lucky to find a place that had a vacancy. We did have to switch rooms after the first night, but it was much easier than we thought it would be. The staff took care of everything for us. Although this was not our first time in a B&B, it was our first time in Cape May. We are definitely going back to both. We had a great time. Vince was very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. The room, considered a standard, was very comfortable, clean, beautifully decorated and more than enough room for the both of us. The breakfasts are to die for. Leslie is a great cook. You can tell that Vince and Leslie really love running a B&B.

Had a wonderful stay at The Mooring. It was convenient, so very clean, the breakfast was amazing, Vince was the perfect host, excellent value for the money. Room 11 an excellent choice for a single traveler. Have stayed in many bed and breakfast places, this was - by far - one of the best!

The Mooring is a home away from home... that's a block from the beach at Cape May. Most everything we wanted to do on our vacation was a short walk away from the house. I have been visiting Cape May for over 20 years, and have stayed at various B & B. The Mooring was absolutely the best! Worth every penny.

The Mooring really has it all. It's only a block from the beach, it's very clean, has GREAT breakfast's (several options each day...my favorite was a Bananas Foster French Toast!) and most rooms have there own parking space. They offered a few nice touches as well like afternoon tea and cookies and supplied you with beach towels. Only one negative that's worth mentioning is that there is free wi-fi, but I never really got a great signal. I would not hesitate to stay again.

The best thing we can say about the Mooring is the innkeepers, Leslie and Vince. They are attentive, sensitive and truly caring toward their guests. It is almost like staying with old friends. Very comfortable, very accomodating and always present.

Leslie and Vince are great hosts! We have been coming to the Mooring for several years now and each trip is a very pleasant experience. The Mooring has become a home away from home for us.

Home away from home. All rooms are spotless and decorated to perfection, but warm and inviting. Quiet, without being stuffy. Breakfast is delicious, with several choices. If you go away hungry, there's something wrong with you. Short walk to the beach and walking distance to the mall. Leslie and Vince are wonderful. Can't wait for Christmas, that's when we get a gift certificate towards another stay. We have been going for many years now and wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

The room was just beautiful! Sitting on the porch in the hot afternoon with the cool breeze coming through was a highlight to our day. Vince was very personable and helpful. Also very accommodating allowing us to hang around well after check out, and use of the outdoor showers for us to clean up on that last day after spending the day on the beach. We hope we can come back soon to The Mooring!

Stayed at The Mooring for 3 nights; wish it could have been longer. Had Room #10 which opened directly to a 2nd floor balconey which we used to read and relax for hours. The breakfasts prepared by Leslie were wonderful. Vince was a great host, always available, knowledgeable and just an all around nice person. There was nothing we wanted that he couldn't provide. Would definitely recommend this place and want to go back again. If you like to sit outside, ask for Room #10; of course, there is also a veranda on the first floor with plenty of room for all.

This was our second summer that we stayed at The Mooring in Cape May. Room 11 was a standard room, but just as lovely as can be. The quality of the rooms are all outstanding. Last year we stayed in the King Suite Room 8, and it was also fantastic. The innkeepers are very accommodating and helpful. It is amazing to be a block from the beach, yet not find any sand in your room! Very clean!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Mooring. Vince and Leslie were wonderful hosts who accomodated and pampered us throughout our stay. Our room was clean and beautifully decorated and made us feel comfortable and elegant. A variety of gourmet breakfasts were served everyday which were delicious. First floor room was very bright early in the morning. Breakfasts were excellent as was the hospitality of the hosts.

This is a terrific place to stay in Cape May! The owners are wonderful, friendly and caring people who are passionate about what they do. The house is lovingly well cared for, and the breakfasts and afternoon teas were just great. We felt very comfortable during our stay, which made it easy for us to relax and enjoy living in the moment. Sitting on the front porch in the mornings with a cup of coffee, catching an ocean breeze was truly a pleasure. We would return to the Mooring in a heartbeat!

Attention to fine details in room and inn decor, breakfast dining and care of guests. We enjoyed the refrigerator room for water and left-overs and the availability to enjoy a cup of tea after hours in the guest kitchen. We also delighted in afternoon tea as it gave us a chance to enjoy the lovely breezes on the porch and to truly relax.

The accommodation is delightful - all sorts of little extras (such as a guests' kitchen for tea/coffee in off hours.) The location is within walking distance of many restaurants (Vince was very helpful in recommending places to eat) and, of course, the beautiful beach! Cape May proved to be a "Let's go back!" town - not too touristy - at least not in early "off-season" June. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a lovely breeze and no need for A/C even with the unseasonably warm weather. A thoughtfully renovated bathroom with very clean large shower was so welcome! We'd go back in a moment!

We stayed in room 10 with a lovely private porch with rocking chairs and a view of the ocean. Breakfast was wonderful with a sweet and savory breakfast choice each morning and tea and dessert from 4-5pm. Vince could not have been more helpful. We would absolutely stay at the Moorings again! Just a tad expensive for one room with breakfast, but I guess it's what the market bears. It's a great spot half a block from the beach and a few blocks from the Washington St. Mall - Vince was very knowledgeable and helpful about what to do in the area - the breakfast was amazing! We stayed in Room #1 right off the hallway but would stay upstairs next time because of the traffic/people noise.

First time staying in a B&B and couldn’t be happier that we chose Mooring B&B for our weekend getaway. Arrived at 10:30PM on a Friday night and check-in went without a glitch. Ordered the Champagne & Roses special and wow was it perfect, the Roses were beautifully arranged and the Champagne was perfectly chilled. Leslie & Vince couldn’t more accommodating, Leslie’s breakfast special was amazing and Vince hospitality and local knowledge was exceptional.

Perfect location, 3 minute walk to the beach, 10 minutes to great little shops and resturaunts! Leslie and Vince are very friendly, social, concerned innkeepers that take the time to chat and get to know you. Leslie prepares tasty and unique breakfasts. This is a well cared for wonderful inn, inside and out! We visited off season, as we do often with places that are seasonal, less crowds, more personal attention, perfect spring getaway. Plan to visit again early fall!

We needed to get away to decompress and that is exactly what we were able to do. This inn was absolutely the most comfortable we have stayed in. We felt as if we were at home. What I mean is it did not feel like a museum the way many Victorian stye inns do. The breakfasts were terrific as were the afternoon teas. The location is perfect for the beach and the restaurants. The innkeepers could not have been more accommodating. Room #10 is as comfortable as they come. We do not usually stay in the same inn twice but we will likely be back to this one.

Overall, it was a warm and welcoming experience. The food was great and Vince and Leslie couldn't be more charming. I'd highly recommend and would definitely stay again.

Apple topped waffles and the eggplant omelet were yummy as well. The wine tasting was just the activity after a long day of strolling Cape May. Vince gave us great advice for the local restaurants (Washington Inn and Georges for us). We did not want to leave.

We stayed Saturday and Sunday and loved the place. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The wine and cheese tasting was great, and the room was clean and beautiful.

This summer we'll celebrate our 25th anniversary with six days at the Mooring. It will be our 4th stay at the Mooring and we intend to keep coming back. Over the years we've stayed at a great many B&Bs in Cape May and have found the Mooring to be the most hospitable. Vince and Leslie are delightful and they're the reason we keep coming back. The Mooring is a beautifully decorated, well run, and clean B&B, which in Cape May, is not hard to find. It's the personalities of the two innkeepers that make the difference between a simply good experience and an absolutely wonderful one. They make the Mooring our #1 choice year after year.

We have been vacationing in Cape May for many years, each time trying a new B&B. Leslie and Vince are upbeat and hard working innkeepers. We stayed in the first floor room with private entrance and small kitchen. Great location, a short one block to the beach and an easy stroll into town. Breakfasts were fantastic. . . Leslie uses her own herbs from her garden in her recipes. Very clean albeit a bit pricey.

We just got back from a "well needed" 2 day getaway. The Mooring B & B was so wonderful. The owners, Vince and Leslie, are top-notch in the service industry. I took a special trip with my father to Cape May for the Bird Migration viewing and I needed a B&B that would accommodate both of us.....a spacious room and limited stairs for my Father. The Mooring was the perfect B&B and what made it more amazing were the owners, Leslie and Vince. They were more than accommodating in every way imaginable. They offered many recommendations of where to dine and places of interest. Their B&B is extremely warm, clean and comfortable. Now, about the breakfast....DELICIOUS. It was my first time in a b&b. So I have nothing to compare it to. Found that it had a few rules to always keep in the back of your mind. Parking was on premies, big plus for me. It is within walking distance of the Washington Square Shops. Wonderful houses to look at while walking and only a block away from the beach. My hosts were very personable and knoweledgable about the area. Breakfast was served between 8:30 and 10. And always with a smile and an explaination of the breakfast of the day. I would recommend this b&b to all my friends and will be coming back. Thank you Vince & Leslie.

The owners Leslie Valenza and Vince Casale provided us with everything and anything we could have ever wanted or needed to make our stay pleasant and trouble free. This in only our second B&B in Cape May we have stayed in and we would definitely stay at The Mooring again as our first choice.

I honestly can't say enough about how amazing The Mooring is!!!! And Leslie and Vince are incredible. We went to Cape May to celebrate my 40th Birthday, and The Mooring was just so perfect in every way.

Mooring is centrally located but not in the congested area of town so it is ideal! It's 2 blocks from the beach and about a 7 minute walk through beautiful neighborhoods to the shops and retaraunts. The B & B is clean and lovely and Vince is a riot! there is a side porch for hanging out and the breakfast is very good although every morning is the same menu prepared slightly differently: french toast and eggs. It is expensive though, but the quality and friendliness is worth it if you have the bucks to spend!

Loved access to a shared kitchen/ fridge. The place is CLEAN! Vince, one of the Inn Keepers was personable and happy to help out with restaurant suggestions and things to do!

This was our first stay in Cape May and because of the comforting service at The Mooring, we will definitely be back. Breakfasts were exceptional. Afternoon tea was cool, crisp and tasy. Our room was clean, pretty and quiet. I loved living in an old Victorian house for a few days. The innkeepers were generous and very helpful. There is nothing bad I can say about The Mooring. Sitting on the porch, rocking either during the afternoon eating our hotdogs and champagne or late at night in the cool,quiet of gentle Cape May, brought us joy, comfort and peace. Considering we booked it last minute and off of the internet, it couldn't have turned out any better. And the weather was perfect, too. October is sounding good to me now! This was the nicest bed and breakfast I have ever spent time. My friends and I were there for vacation in mid August. The food was great and the home itself, you could tell was filled with love. The owner Vince and Leslie truly do their very best to make your stay wonderful.

This is my third visit to The Mooring. It is always my first pick when I get to choose the accomodations. The food is always delicious. I love the victorian setting and charm. One year I arrived and a young lady was playing the harp in the foyer. It was so classy. Leslie and Vince are alway ready and eager to answer any questions or give dinner recommendations. One visit to The Mooring and you will also understand why there is no need to go anywhere else when you have the best.

Leslie went above and beyond to arrange a room at the last minute and Vince is the host with the most, going above and beyond on all levels. We have stayed at The Mooring a number of times, the last time being the beginning of June of this year. We have a preference for Room 10, although all the rooms here are beautiful. Leslie & Vince are wonderful! They are always very helpful and just fun to talk to. The breakfasts are the best, savory being our favorite. And the goodies for afternoon tea are delicious! We will only stay at The Mooring when in Cape May at a B & B, and every time we go back, it's like being in our own little world that we're always sad to leave, but happy to come back to!

Staying at the Mooring is like coming home. It's hard to explain, but it is just exceptional in every way. It is spotlessly clean, close to the beach and within walking distance of everything. The breakfasts are to die for and Leslie and Vince are the best innkeepers ever. The make you feel at home and comfortable, and leave you alone, yet are there if you need them for something. I try to stay at the Mooring either twice or at least once a year. I have never been disappointed. The rooms are decorated beautifully. Vince is always very helpful to us when we need advice about where to shop, eat, etc. I also am very pleased with the yummy breakfasts. The best Innkeepers in Cape May!

My husband and I recently came back from a 3 day stay. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast. We were very pleased. Vince was extremly helpful and good natured. Our room, #12, was quite cozy, bright, and had a good size bathroom. The decor was beautiful and we enjoyed the cool evening breeze as we sast on the front porch. Breakfast was excellent and we loved the afternoon tea (actually iced tea) that was provided everyday. The location is perfect, only 2 blocks away from the beach, and walking distant from everything. Parking is key in this area, and we were so happy to have our own parking spot. The only thing I can say is if you have a large SUV and you book room #12, drive another car. The space was not large enough. Vince was still able to accomodate us however. We enjoyed our stay immensly, and recommend it to anyone. Don't forget to try the scones during breakfast. They are out of this world!!

My husband and I spent the weekend at The Mooring to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful stay. The room was perfect, we loved hanging out on the porch, every detail was well thought out, and breakfast was fantastic. We can't wait to get back again!

We have been staying at The Mooring for at least five years, often two or three times a year at different seasons. We select one of the smallest rooms just to save a bit on our total trip but the room is always spotless, the breakfasts plentiful, on-site parking, great porch for relaxing and people watching, guest kitchen AND just one block from the beach. Leslie and Vince are attentive but not intrusive.

We have stayed at the Mooring two summers in a row. Both times, we were delighted with our room, our delicious breakfasts, and the innkeepers. Vince is always there to answer any questions you may have and help in any way possible. We highly reccomend this inn! ( we will be there again this summer!)

My two girlfriends and I visit Cape May once a year during a house tours weekend. This was the first time we stayed at the Mooring. I don't even know where to begin, so I'll begin with Vince. He was very helpful when I called to make our arrangements. When we arrived, he actually carried our luggage in (and back out when we left), something that's never happened to me at a Cape May B&B before. He gave such detailed information on the various aspects of the inn (times for everything, how to get back inside late in the evening, etc) that I thought he must have been a former teacher. He also offered himself for any recommendations we might need for dinner, activities, etc. Our room was beyond wonderful. The detail on the woodwork and wall treatments, furniture, etc was so extensive that, even after being there for over a day, we kept discovering details we hadn't noticed before (Vince gave full credit for that to Leslie). The Inn itself was convenient to everything we wanted to do. We parked the car in the provided off-street parking and never got in it again until we left. Breakfast was a delight. Despite the coconut french toast being highly recommended, when I explained that I didn't like coconut, I was offered scrambled eggs; it was made clear to me that it was no problem to support my pickiness. Our weekend in Cape May was perfect. Much of it was due to our stay at the Mooring.

My husband and I stayed at the Mooring for our five year anniversary (it was a surprise for my husband) Leslie and Vince were wonderful from the first phone call I made to inquire about the B & B, and throughout our entire stay. Leslie even went above & beyond and was totally discreet with making reservations so my husband did not have a clue about the trip until the the day that our vacation started. Leslie was also kind enough to recommend a local store that would deliver wine and cheese or she would have a bottle of chilled champagne in our room. I decided on the champagne and was not disappointed. I also cannot say enough about Vince! Friendly, wonderful personality. He knows his way around Cape May! Vince made a recommendation of Oyster Bay for dinner and we were both beyond happy with his suggestion. The breakfast would rival and gourmet restaurant! The baked coconut french toast was amazing! Vince and Leslie even sell a cookbook featuring not only the baked coconut french toast, but some other amazing recipes as well. I cannot say enough about our stay at the Mooring and I even recommended the the B & B to my mother in law who frequently visits Cape May. My husband and I will defiantly book our next stay in Cape May at the Mooring next year.
