    The Akwaaba by the Sea was built in the 1850's and offers beautiful, romantic and cozy rooms and apts/suites. Much of the natural beauty remains intact and we have renovated and decorated in an appealing Victorian style. Located directly across the street from Akwaaba by the Sea, every room is spacious and full of light. There are five guest rooms in the main house and two guest suites in the carriage house. A sunny, glassed-in porch is the perfect gathering place year-round, not to mention the elegant parlor with a wood-burning fireplace or the conference center/game room with an oversized, flat-screen TV, guest computer station and handsome table sets for playing cards and board games. Our Cape May guests enjoy both inns during their stay, and between the two houses, we can sleep up to 34 guests. So in addition to romantic get-aways and solo sojourns, think of us for your business retreats, family reunions, church and social outings, or any private affair, whether you’re celebrating a marriage, anniversary, birthday or retirement--or life itself!

    Reservation Policy

    • Check in: 2 - 7pm    Check out: 11am

    • Deposit amount required: 1/2 deposit at time of reservation, remainder due upon arrival. Weekly rents balance due 30 days before arrival.

    • Cancellations: We understand unforeseen circumstances may make it necessary for you to cancel or postpone your stay. If you notify us of such a need at least two weeks prior to your reserved stay, we will be happy to refund your deposit, minus a $20 handling fee. If you need to cancel after the 14th day prior to your reserved stay, we will do our best to rebook your room with another guest. If we are successful, we will gladly refund your deposit, minus the $20 handling fee. If we are unsuccessful and the room goes un-booked, you will forfeit your deposit.

      Follow NJ Garden State Parkway to the very end, come across the Cape May bridge (boat marina) onto Route 109 south (Lafayette Street). Follow this to the end at T intersection (see Collier's Liquor Store). Turn right and then bear left onto West Perry Street and follow down to 2 traffic lights to Broadway. Make a right at 7 Eleven and first pink house on left (next to Mangia Mangia Restaurant) and make first left. House on right - park on shell parking area in rear of house. Enter house on Broadway (Street) main entrance.

    The Innkeepers prepared healthy and delicious meals. They provided a list of good restaurants and other destinations. The living room, parlor and dining room were very comfortable with stylish decor. Our room was cozy and sunny. The other guests were friendly, and we had informative and enjoyable conversations with the Innkeepers (Glenn, Sabrina & Lillia).

    We had a wonderful stay. The staff is very friendly and went out of their way to meet our needs. They were able to accommodate special dietary needs for breakfast and were able to give us suggestions for restaurants for lunch and dinner. The room was charming. They also serve refreshments at tea time in the afternoon. Breakfast and tea provided a nice opportunity to meet other guests

    We just spent a long weekend here and our stay was absolutely fantastic! Both Akwaaba by the Sea and Buttonwood Manor are beautiful and wonderfully kept. The people are great! The food is fabulous! and the location is wonderful. We never had a hard time finding parking and the beach was only 4 blocks away. Nice and quiet setting with several great restaurants within blocks of our doorstep. We're already talking about when our next stay will be!

    It has been a year since my visit and I am still talking about it! Monique has done a phenominal job! THe food is fantastic, the location is great..I moved my car ONCE the entire three days I was there! It is within walking distance of everything. I would recommend going back again and again!
