The Dr. Jonathan Pitney House
Built in 1799, an addition in 1848, faithfully restored and impeccably renovated in 1997, the Dr. Jonathan Pitney House, the home of the Father of Atlantic City is now a study in authenticity and beauty. All rooms and suites have private baths and gas fireplaces and each is decorated with antiques from either the colonial or Victorian eras. On the west side of the Commonyard sits the Doctor's Guest Quarter's with four charming suites. The "Philadelphia" suited is handicapped accessible, while the other three suites have whirlpools. All suites have ceiling fans, gas fireplaces, and color TV withVCR. Southern New Jersey's most historic bed and breakfast is only a few short miles form the casinos in Atlantic City, the new Atlantic City Convention Center, the Historic Village of Smithville, Forsythe Wildlife Preserve, Noyes Museum, and Historic Renault Winery to name a few. For convention goers, the train is only 1.5 blocks away and conveniently takes you to the heart of the AC Convention Center in less than 10 minutes for only .85 cents. A gourmet breakfast is served each morning with afternoon tea offered at 4 PM.
