This was lovely, unexpected surprise find for us. We had decided on a last minute ski trip to Okemo, and could not find any accommodation near there, so we cast our net wider and stumbled onto Inn at the Valley. We were somewhat concerned about a 40min drive to Okemo...but instead we had an amazing, relaxing and enjoyable time when we were not on the slopes! And Jackie struck a perfect balance between being a warm and gracious host, and giving us plenty of space to enjoy ourselves.

I needed a room just prior to Christmas 2014 and came upon this B&B online. Turns out it was the perfect spot. I stayed in a guest room in the main house which was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The sitting rooms and library were so comfortable and homey. The bedroom was absolutely lovely with a bed that was just right. Breakfast was some of the most scrumptious food I've had. The conversation with Jackie about the organic farm was enlightening. She is the quintessential innkeeper. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.

We stayed here in October and it was a real pleasure. The property is amazing and the B&B itself was very charming, clean and cozy. Jackie was an exceptional host and I plan on returning for another stay, but next time the stay will be longer. I highly recommend this fantastic B&B.

Every fall we stay for a week in New England; this year, we decided to split our time between two of the most highly reviewed B&B’s in the Explorer’s Guides to Vermont and New Hampshire. The second half of our week was spent at the delightful Inn at Valley Farms, just outside of Walpole. We stayed in the Garden Suite in the main house, which was warm, inviting, and spacious. Jackie, our host, served us breakfasts in the formal dining room, where we were made to feel like the lord and lady of Downton Abbey. The delicious farm-to-table fare was the ideal hearty start to days spent exploring the charming nearby towns, including Walpole itself, which has become our latest dream hometown. Jackie clearly went above and beyond for us on the last day of our stay, when we needed to leave early, by preparing an earlier than usual breakfast (minus the cooking) for us, including raspberries that she picked in the garden after dark the night before! It’s hard to list everything that’s wonderful about the Inn at Valley Farms, but here goes: the bucolic view of grazing cows in the mist outside our bedroom window; the sights and sounds of free range chickens and barnyard cats on the neighboring property, Alyson’s orchard and farmstand across the road, the walking trails to the “hidden acre”; the delicious cooked breakfasts; the vintage furniture and knickknacks. Plus, Jackie always had plenty of ideas for places to visit, restaurants to try, and sights to see. Most highly recommended!

One of our guests' favorite and most requested breakfast item is popovers. We always cook with as many of our own or locally grown, minimally processed foods as possible. Our motto when cooking is "simple and fresh" so our breakfast menu always revolves around what's fresh and in-season. Popovers are one of those simple yet decadent treats that lend themselves perfectly to other fresh foods such as creamy scrambled eggs using our own pasture-raised eggs, herbs and local cheeses and our own fresh fruit preserves made from the amazing bounty around us.
