But perhaps best of all, are the extravagantly colorful sunsets which create the ultimate setting for romance.Curl up on the sofa or chaise lounge with a good book and soft music and enjoy a crackling fire in front of Brookhill's traditional wood-burning fireplace. Family antiques, original art, books, crystal chandeliers, gleaming hardwood floors with antique oriental carpets provide an artistic fusion of English country house and New England history.
    Eighteen feet of floor to ceiling windows bring the outside glories to the inside of the master bedroom, and gardens and mountains become part of the decor. Just a few steps up is an extra-deep soaking tub which overlooks the bedroom and the view. On a wintry night, dim the crystal chandelier over the tub, light a few candles, turn on the outside lights and enjoy a long soak watching the snow silently fall.Old-fashioned soft and cool cotton sheets, which must be and are ironed, make slipping into bed at Brookhill truly luxurious.
