Inn at Ellis River

Fourth time there. Place seems to be better each time. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great place to get away and find some peace and relaxation. Lots to do in the area including hiking, skiing, shopping and just enjoying the town. The Inn at Ellis River is in a perfect location for walking around Jackson. The staff is exceptional and there's also opportunitite to meet and socialize with other Inn guests, if you want too! This was our second visit and it is now an annual event for us.

These people were phenomenal!!! We had our wedding in their pub room and it was great. We stayed two nights; that was great. Frank and Lyn were around a lot and we saw a lot of Christine and Christie. Everyone was such a huge help. They were friendly and kind. The breakfasts were delicious, the room was wonderful, clean, and just everything we could want. The view was great. It was so hard to leave! We will absolutely return within the next few years.

Frank and Lyn are two of the most competent and caring innkeepers in the business and they have put together a staff that makes each visit magical. Every needed is anticipated and provided before you even know you need it. The breakfasts, the cookies all beyond the best. Each room individually decorated and perfect. My girlfriend and I have stayed at this inn three times. Two of the three times were in the same week! This is a wonderful place to stay. We love everything about the place, all of the rooms are so cozy it's like being home. The last time we went they even upgraded our room to a room with a deck and hot tub just because! If you want to visit the white mountain are make sure you pick the Inn at Ellis River for your stay. There's a cozy game room where my girlfriend and I would play pool every night and chat with whoever is around like Frank or Christine. Everyone is so nice here and Lyn makes the most delicious breakfasts that you could imagine. Needless to say the place is a winner and we couldn't stay anywhere else, the Inn at Ellis River is the best!!

Once again, hats off to Lyn and Frank and the staff at Inn at Ellis River. Just spend another wonderful weekend there and enjoyed every minute of it. The innkeepers and staff go over and above to ensure that you feel like the most important person there. What a marvelous place!!! My husband and I were just so touched and pleased with the warm, friendly, accomodating staff, an immaculate, beautifully decorated room with its own patio, jacuzzi, fireplace, and oh so comfortable feather bed, and so so many more wonderful details, even chocolates in your room and home made cookies every day! The Inn at Ellis River is in the quaint, picturesque town of Jackson, the mountains are all around you, and there are so many activities to do. Every breakfast is better than the last one, you will never find a better, more delicious breakfast than at the Inn at Ellis River!! Cannot wait to go back, counting down the days!! Oh and on our last night, Yes, We saw a Moose right in front of us!!! How Awesome is that! LG-RI

The sound of the river rushing past, the moonlight streaming in the balcony doors, and the luxurious bedding made the inn an unforgettable experience. From welcome to farewell, Lyn and Frank were gracious hosts. Their knowledge of the White Mountains and local restaurants led to delightful discoveries throughout the weekend.

My wife and I stayed here while celebrating our Anniversary. The room was beautiful. The daily breakfast was good and extremely filling; we skipped lunch all three days because we weren't hungry again until the evenings. A small river borders the property the Inn has chairs nearby so you can sit and/or read next to the river--very relaxing. They have a quiet bar in the building that we did not utilize, but it was nice to know we could easily grab some wine if the mood struck. All that said, what really set the experience apart was the friendliness and thoroughness of the innkeepers and staff, and their eagerness to bend over backwards to do whatever they could do to make the trip more enjoyable--whether it was making it easy for us to check-in very late (after Midnight), bringing us a chilled bottle of champagne late at night, or making dinner reservations on our behalf, among much more. We wish we would have had more time to spend lounging around the Inn but had already booked most of our weekend before arriving. Next time we stay, and there will definitely be a next time, we will make sure we give ourselves plenty of time to relax at the Inn.

This inn has all of the things that I enjoy at a bed and breakfast. Beautiful clean rooms, gorgeous grounds, gourmet breakfast with choices, and a staff that is warm and friendly. Jackson NH is a great place...and the Inn at Ellis River is a very good choice. I met a lot of people at the inn who come back year after year, It is that charming.

Upon finishing our second week-long stay at the Inn AND getting engaged, my fiancé and I can say without a shadow of a doubt, The Inn at Ellis River is the best Inn on the Eastern seaboard. The breakfast each morning is worth the price of admission alone. We will be dreaming of bacon until our next visit to the Inn in December. The InnKeepers and staff made us feel like family. The accommodations, specifically Pearl Cascade where we resided for 7 wonderful days, was absolutely spectacular. From listening to the calming sounds of the river at night, to the luxurious linens an decor, everything about this room and property was perfect. We give the Inn at Ellis River the highest recommendation. Anyone who visits Jackson, NH should stay at this Inn. Why? Quite simply: it's THE BEST.

My husband and I recently enjoyed our fourth stay at the Inn at Ellis River and, as usual, we cannot wait for our next escape! Lynn, Frank & Christine are the perfect hosts and their attention to detail is exceptional. We lead, as most of us do, extremely busy lives and I can truly say that during our stays at Ellis River all of worries magically melt away upon entering their beautful Inn. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spotless - we especially love the fireplace suites.

we frequent B&Bs whenever we travel. these innkeepers have thought of just about everything and leave no details unattended. the rooms are exquisitely decorated and extremely comfortable. breakfast and snacks were superb and out of the ordinary. comfortable common spaces. an extremely welcoming inn. they couldn't do enough for you to meet your every need. we'd go again if we returned to the area without looking at any other accommodations.

The three times we have stayed here have always been perfect. Every member of the the staff is warm and friendly. The location of the inn is perfect for any number off activities while still being set back away from the rush of the valley. Breakfast is amazing, best bacon anywhere! Rooms are warm and cozy and really clean! Looking fore-ward to going back soon!

We have stayed in Jackson, NH over the last 15 years. This is the first time we stayed at the Inn At Ellis Reiver. This visit past all expectations and we will be staying there in the furture. The Innkeepers and staff were outstanding.

This was our 3rd or 4th stay at the Inn at Ellis River and we NEVER tire of it!! The rooms are cozy, the beds are SO COMFORTABLE, and the innkeepers, Lyn and Frank, as well as the staff, especially Christine, are SO FRIENDLY,WARM,AND INVITING!! This is a top-notch inn! Just returned from a 2 week trip to New England, we stayed at this beautiful inn for 2 nights, it just was not long enough. Everything about the inn was bliss. Lynn and Frank are very welcoming and helpful hosts. The breakfasts there are to die for, all fresh homemade items, different both days. When we returned each afternoon there were homemade cookies and refreshments waiting for us. The inn is set in a beautiful location, the interior is so cosy and comfortable on bad weather days you really would not need to leave. Our bedroom was decorated beautifully with great attention to detail. Just one problem 2 days was not long enough, we would love to return. Julie and Dave England

A fantastic fall foliage weekend getaway, made even more memorable with a stay at the beautiful Inn at Ellis River. Great experience all around - from the comfortable, well-appointed room (Sparkling Cascade) with the fabulous view, to the delicious breakfasts and afternoon treats, to the helpful and friendly staff. We will definitely stay here again!!!

The inn was wonderful! The innkeepers were really nice, kind and helpful. The breakfast that was made is amazing (Try the bacon, you will love it) The room (Bridal veil) was great. A walk out deck, a spa tub for two and a fireplace and AC. I spent most of my days outside the inn for hiking and shopping but the Inn had equipped itself for things to do with hot tubs, a heated pool, a sitting room to do puzzles, pool table darts and movies as well as free wifi. Even the cleaning woman pay attention to our needs (without us asking) when she noticed that we keep using the bubble baths she needed to replace/stock so she end up giving us a some extras which let us pick the scents we wanted. The area of town was charming with its waterfalls and covered bridges and never seem too busy. Plenty of things to do in the area with the white mountains, shopping, dining and attractions. I stayed 6 days for my honeymoon and we still didn't have time to do everything! The inn keeper we very willing to fullfill our needs to insure our honeymoon stay was wonderful and on the wedding day itself, Lyn did not pause to help me zip up my wedding dress since my family was running late to help me. The inn has many packages/specials and I look forward staying here again.

On arrival you are made to feel like one of the family. Within the very comfortable rooms are plenty of special little touches and VERY soft and fluffy towels. Then there is breakfast. WOW! The goumet brekfasts are exceptional and not to be missed.And then there are the afternoon cookies.Yum! The worst thing about staying at Ellis River is having to leave. We can't wait to return.

Just returned from a quick trip to Jackson, New Hampshire where we stayed at The Inn at Ellis River. It was our very first "bed and breakfast" experience and this inn and the outstanding staff exceeded our expectations and made us wish our stay was much longer. The entire Inn is spotless and if there is something you need that is not provided all you have to do is ask. What a wonderful place. We will be going back very soon!

My daughter and I stayed at The Inn at Ellis River the last 4 nights in July 2011. The beds in the large rooms are very comfortable. The food is fresh,extremely high quality, very large portions. Breeakfast times are flexible in the morning. Fresh cookies are always available if you are around after 3pm. The grounds of the Inn are gorgeous! There is so much to do outside in New Hampshire. The Inn has magazines and books if you come uncertain of what to do. If the weather isn't right for your plans, it is very easy to find something else to do. Of course, simply hanging out at this gorgeous relaxing Inn is also a plus. The longer you stay, the more you want to stay. I can assure you the Fall Season is probably booked early as the grounds around the Inn have gorgeous trees. The staff are all wonderful hosts. I definitely will plan to stay again. We stayed three nights in mid July on a New England tour for our 30th wedding anniversary. We have used USA B&Bs for several trips now and the Inn at Ellis River did not disappoint - the location is quiet and a good centre for touring the area with several really good restaurants a short drive away. The inn keepers, Lyn and Frank, were very friendly and made us very welcome. The facilities were first rate and really exceeded our expectations. Breakfast was always a treat - good quality, good choices with very attentive personal service. Our room was beautifully decorated and maintained - very comfortable. Our only complaint was there were too many of the Stave jigsaw puzzles to complete in the time we had - so we'll have to come back!

My boyfriend and I spent four nights at this incandescent gem of an inn, and, by far, it was our most memorable vacation yet. Upon arrival, Lyn, one of the innkeepers, graciously greeted us, gave us a tour, and made us feel welcome and at home, with her warmth and sense of humor. Frank, the other innkeeper, was consistently warm and hospitable, as well, and provided wonderful service at the bar inside of the inn. When we weren't exploring the local area, my boyfriend and I basked in all this wonderful place had to offer- a well-equipped game room, the atrium enclosed hot-tub, and a sauna (all of which were ALWAYS clean and maintained meticulously). Perhaps our favorite night was spent eating dinner and having wine in the illuminated gazebo on the property, listening to the quiet swish of the river. A gorgeous vacation in picturesque nature in a perfectly clean, cozy, luxurious place (with exceptionally delicious cider donuts!). Cannot wait to return in the fall or winter.

My husband & I stayed here for our 9th anniversary. We were very excited to get thee. When we arrived, we were greeted with a smile by Lyn. She welcomed us & told us all about the inn, the history of each room, and what the inn offers now. There is so much to do here! There is a game room where you can play pool, darts, chess, checkers, etc. They also have a full bar in the game room. They have a wide variety of DVDs that you can use free of charge. Breakfast was GREAT! You start off with a continental style breakfast, followed by your choice of a hot plate - some days an egg quiche, pancakes, frittatas, etc. Every morning it changes. Each day we came back to our room, there were Lindt chocolates waiting by our bed - how cool is that??!?! The river in the back of the inn was gorgeous. There is a sitting area there that I personally could have stayed there all day. We hope to return to this inn every year to celebrate our anniversary. We would highly recommend this inn!

Beautiful, clean, inviting, relaxing, BEST staff ever!! Makes you feel like family. Such a home feel and the smells of Lyn's cooking and baking, OH SO GOOD!!!

The area around the Inn is just beautiful and the Inn itself is beyond words. The Inn's team made our stay perfect.

This is probably the best B&B we've stayed at. The grounds are beautiful and right on the Ellis River. It's very easy to get to (right off Route 16) but you'd never know the highway was there. The main building is beautifully furnished and has two sitting rooms, one with a pool table, darts, a bar, and a fireplace. There's a small heated pool in the front. We stayed in the Pearl Cascade room which was large, had a view of the river, and a private jacuzzi. The breakfasts were delicious. We had special dietary requirements and they were met without any problem. The best part are the hosts Lyn and Frank (and Christine who seems to be the main assistant). They are friendly and flexible. Breakfast starts at 8am but on the days we left earlier than that to hike, they left us fruits and cakes (which Lyn bakes) to take with us. When I had a question about adjusting the air conditioning in our room (the controls are a little complex) not only was the room set the way we wanted when we returned that afternoon, but they left a photocopy of the manual in our room in case we had any other questions. The lobby/main room also has many guide books lying around detailing all the different activities in the White Mountains area, as well as dozens of menus from local restaurants. This place is top notch!

This was our first visit to the Inn and if we are fortunate enough to get back in the area we would definitely stay here again. Our room was beautiful, a jacuzzi tub for two and a gorgeous view of the river and mountains. We did a lot of hiking in the mountains during our stay so we were not able to enjoy all the Inn had to offer, I would like to return and have nothing to do other than spend the day relaxing at the Inn. The gazebo was a lovely place to sit with our afternoon refreshments after a morning of hiking. The balcony outside the room was a perfect for relaxing and listening to the river. The breakfasts were delicious. Lyn and Frank were very gracious hosts and you couldn't help but to feel right at home immediately. You will not be disappointed with a visit to the Inn at Ellis River.

my husband and i got married at jackson falls and stayed at the inn at ellis river. we had our own private cottage that was absolutely awesome. we can't say enough good things about this place, as we loved it so much, we're going back for our 1st anniversary and those to follow. lynn and frank are wonderful hosts and the place was gorgeous, clean and incredible. can't wait to go back!!!

Our recent stay at the Inn at Ellis River was just wonderful. The people were friendly, helpful and fun. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. Our daughter and her husband highly recommended it to us and we were so glad that they did. The food was outstanding both at breakfast and at afternoon snack time. We defiantely would like to return.

My wife and I frequent the Inn at Ellis River, and it has always been a wonderful experience. The rooms are great, super-friendly staff, and amazing bacon!!! We have some dietary issues and they are amazing at accommodating our issues. Whatever season, our stay has been superb, and we plan on returning for years to come.

We visit the White Mountain area pretty frequently and have stayed at many different bed and breakfasts. We happened upon Inn at Ellis River this last trip and are so lucky we did. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and tranquil, just like their website promised! The room was beautiful and comfortable with a queen sized bed and a daybed which was the biggest and most cozy daybed we had ever seen! The full breakfast was delicious and we were more than entertained by Christine (won't spoil the surprise for others ;o). There is a crystal clear outdoor in-ground pool, an indoor jacuzzi, balconies in each room with comfortable chairs to sit and enjoy the sounds of the stream and nature, a screened gazebo with comfy wicker rockers. Perennial gardens to enjoy everywhere! It is impossible NOT to relax here! I haven't even mentioned all the amenities - needless to say that we were very pleased and will be returning on our next trip to the White Mountains in a couple of months :)

My husband returned again this year, July 1st through July 6th, to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary. The Innkeepers and all of the staff are so friendly and gracious. The room was all that we hoped it would be .... roomy, clean; just perfect! We enjoyed our stay so much that we have already reserved the same room for 2012.

Everything about our stay here was wonderful. The owners were warm and friendly, the food was delicious, and the place was beautiful and cozy. I wouldn't have changed a thing and would go back with my boyfriend.

We returned to the Inn after 11 years and mutiple stays at other B&B's to find that the Inn at Ellis River is still our favorite! Lyn & Frank, the new owners since our first visit, have not only maintained but enhanced the ambiance of the atmosphere at the Inn. We enjoyed the sparkling pool, quiet walks along the Ellis River and through quaint Jackson Village. The combination of the warm, welcoming decor, delicious and substantial breakfasts, especially the bacon, and friendliness of the staff makes this the perfect destination for a wonderfully romantic, relaxing getaway.

My new hubby and I stayed here for three nights in the Ellis River Cabin and LOVED everything about the inn. It was quaint and romantic and Frank and Lyn (owners) were perfect, gracious hosts! The breakfast was DELICIOUS every day and the grounds were beautiful. We will definitely going back!!!

We are repeat fans of the Inn at Ellis River. We keep coming back, because the rooms are romantic, the bedding is comfortable and the fireplace rooms all make it fabulous! Lyn and Frank and Christine are wonderful hosts and make you feel that you are a most welcome guest and take care of all your needs. That would include the superb breakfasts (yummy bacon) and afternoon treats! There also accomadate you with dinner reservations at local restuarants. We make bi-annual trips (fall and spring) and always after we leave are looking forward to our next visit. That pretty much says it all! A must visit for those who have never been.

Every year my boyfriend and I visit the White Mountains on one of our vacations. This year, instead of staying at a conventional hotel we decided to stay at a Bed and Breakfast. We had searched and viewed several in the White Mountain area but something kept bringing us back to the website for the Inn at Ellis River, so we booked out stay for 4 nights. WOW! We could not have been more pleased with out decision. Right from the beginning of check in, Lyn and Frank make you feel like you are part of their family and make you feel like you are at home. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the grounds are beautiful, and above all the breakfast is out of this world! Our room overlooked the river and we listened to the sounds of the river from our bed, jacuzzi or deck making this a relaxing and romantic week for us. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we have already planned our next trip to the Inn.

We stayed at this inn for three nights and were very happy with rooms, service, breakfast and cleanliness. Lyn and Frank were perfect hosts. The inn was beautiful and every room was decorated perfectly. We will certainly go back next year on our annual spring New England vacation.

We have stayed there numerous times over the years. Each time is NEVER a disappointment. From each reservation making, to check in, the fresh baked goodies in the afternoon and fantastic breakfasts in the morning.. EVERYTHING is wonderful!!! Unfortunately, we were only able to stay 1 night this trip Im looking forward to our next 2 night trip up there. Everyone there makes sure that you feel like you are the only guest there! My husband and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for a get away weekend after he was deployed. This was our third visit to the Inn and each time we go we enjoy ourselves more and more. The Inn is the perfect size. It is small enough to get to know the owners, but large enough that you don't feel like you are in someone's home. The fbreakfast is spectacular ( the bacon alone gives us a reason to visit), the afternoon snacks yummy! It is such a wonderful place, I would highly recommend it to anyone.

My husband and I spent our tenth wedding anniversary at the inn. We stayed in the Thoreau Falls room and really enjoyed the fireplace and the jacuzzi. Frank and Lynn were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast every morning as well as the yummy treats that awaited us upon our return from our daytime adventures. We would return in a heartbeat.

This was our 2nd stay at the Inn & we'd been planning it for a while. The night before we were supposed to head up I hurt my back and was in a lot of pain. Not wanting to spoil our weekend I decided to brave the 2 1/2 hour drive and kept our plans. We had reserved a 2nd floor room for our weekend, thought I'd figure out the stairs situation when we got there, but Lyn and Frank upgraded us to a 1st floor room with a jacuzzi tub to help my back and a fireplace to relax in front of. It's that kind of attention to detail that keeps us going back to the Inn at Ellis River. From the moment we walk in we feel at home, being greeted by the staff as if we're old friends rather than guests. The room was amazing, we had the most comfortable bed you could imagine. The jacuzzi tub did wonders for my back and the fireplace made it a romantic weekend. Lyn's spectacular breakfasts were out of this world. We've already planned our next trip in August and can't wait to try yet another room at the Inn. Lyn, Frank, Christine, we'll see you soon and thanks again for everything! :o)

My husband and I have been coming to this Inn on an almost annual basis. We come in the off season, and it is super cozy and relaxing. The atmosphere is quaint and romantic, and it is a great way to spend quality time together. There is great shopping, restaurants, and hiking in the area. We love the homeade breakfasts and look forward to getting away to the Inn at Ellis River whenever we can.

The team at the Ellis River House are astute scholars of hospitality. The Inn provides a tranquil romantic atmosphere perfectly situated in the White Mountains. The way the Inn Keepers attend to our needs is just the prescription we needed to recharge our battery after this long winter. The only complaint is that our trip was not long enough. This is our 7th visit to the Inn and we feel as if the Inn has become an extension of our family. We have been too many places over the years but the Inn at Ellis River is by far the greatest.

My husband and I just arrived home from our sixth visit to the lovely and romantic Inn at Ellis River in Jackson, New Hampshire. We're ready to go back! As always, the innkeepers were gracious and welcoming. An unexpected but pleasant surprise was being treated to a tray of assorted crackers, cheese and fruits. This may have been because we were returning guests many times over. Regardless, it made us feel special and was a delightful way to kick off our relaxing weekend. We've stayed in several of the inn's beautiful rooms. This time around, our accommodation was the Thompson Falls room. Though one of the smallest rooms that we’ve had at the inn, the room was just as lovely and comfortable (and clean) as others we’ve enjoyed. Falling asleep by firelight on the fluffy soft bed- what a treat! Each morning we woke early to walk the mile plus loop around Jackson Village. Trekking uphill to view the Jackson Falls was invigorating! This proved to be a great way to wake up our senses and work up an appetite. Our breakfasts were nothing short of wonderful! We were travelling with another couple. Between the four of us, we sampled both the egg offerings and the French toast or waffle breakfasts. Both were equally delicious. My husband enjoyed his “pre-breakfast” of homemade granola. I stole a few bites of his and decided that it would make a tasty trail mix. I thought about asking for a baggy to take some home but decided to use a little restraint. Had I asked, I have no doubt that the servers would have kindly let me take a sample. I noted that another couple asked to take a couple of delicious cider donuts for the drive home and they were promptly given a baggie in which to store their snack. The staff at the inn went above and beyond to make our stay special. After so many stays at the Inn at Ellis River, the innkeepers and staff are beginning to feel like family and the inn to feel like a home away from home. We will definitely be returning in the future.

My wife and I hadn't had a weekend to ourselves for over a year. The Inn provided us with the relaxing time we desperately needed to recharge our batteries in the middle of a long, cold winter. We loved everything about the Inn and Frank and Lynne were the perfect hosts! This has become our special get-away and we look forward to another visit in the fall!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for an entire week. During that time we enjoyed consistantly exceptional service. From the moment we woke up each day and were served a hearty country breakfast to returning from a day of skiing and enjoying warm, homemade cookies with hot apple cider and every detail in between we were certainly spoiled. The staff went out of their way to accomadate our every need. The room was even nicer than could be shown on the website. We've both stayed in Jackson many times over the years and feel that there is no better value to be had. We had a wonderful week and cannot wait to go back.

It was a delight to stay at the Inn at Ellis River! A cozy room with a wonderfully comfortable mattress, an exceptionally nice breakfast and a sincere friendly staff all added up to an outstanding Bed and Breakfast experience. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful treat to stay at this Inn. The service by the staff and the innkeepers were superb. Great (and huge) breakfasts, make sure you try the bacon. Wonderfully helpful finding restaurants and arranging lift and ski passes. Hot tub was a lovely plus. You will be very happy staying here. We stayed in "Jackson Falls" but next time I would spring for "Thoreau".

We had chosen this B&B 3 years ago and had such a wonderful experience that my husband chose it for our short honeymoon get away. We chose the same room but always look at the other rooms thinking which one would we consider the next time because they all look charming. Everything was just as nice, clean and comfortable as it was the last time. The Innkeepers were just as nice. Breakfast we thought was even better this time. We also took advantage of the hot tub and a massage at the local Moondance spa. It was all very relaxing. There are many B&Bs in this area and maybe we'll consider trying another just because there are many that look nice but Inn at River Ellis really has everything we need and want.

I can't think of a greater place to stay in Jackson. The fresh baked cookies, the wonderful breakfast, the tastefully decorated rooms and the thoughtfulness of the innkeepers and staff, make this inn a place you'll want to visit again. Take it from me; we just returned from our 7th visit, and looking forward to the next one in the Fall!

My wife and I spent a great weekend at Ellis River. It was a time for us to reconnect and leave eveything else behind. My wife took care of all the details in planning this and I must say "She did great!" The Inn is warm and comfortable as well as the staff. They were helpful, and courteous and I believe just real nice people (Thank You). The breakfasts were out of this world and with such attention to detail and the presentation. The room we stayed in was excellent, they even had a romantic music cd in the player. We enjoyed our stay and we will be back, perhaps in the warm weather to really see the beauty of the area. My husband and I returned to the Inn after several years. It was better than it was before! The room was newly renovated and just lovely. It happened to be the same room we stayed in before. I was able to read my comments in the book provided in the room. The cheese and fruit platter we ordered was enough for a meal in itself. The cookies in the afternoon were scrumptious!! It was so relaxing. Lyn and Frank are wonderful innkeepers, so warm and friendly. The staff was so helpful in anything we needed. Christine welcomed us to the Inn. She made you feel very much at home.

Inn at Ellis River is a great place to get away with that special someone. The owners and all of the staff are genuinely friendly, helpful, warm and inviting. The food was beyond anything we could have expected not to mention the service! Great atmosphere! Close to plenty to anything we could imagine wanting to check out.

We loved our stay at the Inn. Our room overlooked the river and we could listen to the runnning water all night. Slept great, great food and the leaves in late October were terrific! I would highly recommend this Inn to anyone wanting a great & relaxing get away. Only wish it was easier to get to from CA!

The Inn at Ellis River has come closer than any place I have known to being associated in my mind and senses with home. The building itself, set back 100 yards from the road is long and low, possessing a comfortable scale of a private house for someone with a large family. The Ellis River runs down from the mountains another fifty yards behind the building adding sight and sound that I found comforting. The interior compounds the impression of a private residence, and one that might have been on the cutting edge of Edwardian style at the turn of the twentieth century. There is a billiard room with green complicated wallpaper and a dark wood bar. I could almost see stout, elderly gentlemen sitting reading the London Times while puffing on Havana leaf with a snifter of whiskey by their side. The most important part of the Inn At Ellis River, however, was not the building or the decor, or even the beds, but the inn keepers and staff who consciously and unconsciously went out of their way to make us feel welcome and part of the Ellis River family. We got a hug from Lyn Norris and a warm handshake from her husband, Frank. We swapped laughs and a joke or two with the friendly woman making up a bed in one of the rooms. The morning we were due to depart, we enjoyed an excellent breakfast(eggs benedict en croute were superb and the Harrington bacon that came with it was almost in a totally different food group from the standard offerings at the supermarket) and were served by a young woman who joked and smiled as if we were family. Do put this inn on your MUST VISIT list. It will be well worth the time and effort.

Staying at the Inn at Ellis River for the first time, my wife and I had an excellent stay. The service was terrific, and friendly as well with suggestions offered for area sights, and activities. We enjoyed the breakfasts, spending some time in the common area, as well as the comfortable pub at the Inn. It was great to come back to after spending our days exploring the many attractions in the White Mountain area. Lyn, Frank, and Christine do an exceptional job with the Inn, and their guests, and keep it extremely clean as well.

My husband and I will be heading back in December for our 15th wedding anniversary this will be our 3rd visit in 5 years...We love it here, everything is perfect at the inn...I am getting so excited about our visit in a couple of weeks... You must visit here...

My husband and I have been going to the Inn at Ellis River for almost 15 years now and we wouldn't think of going anywhere else. There have been some changes over the years, but every change has made the place better and better. The decor is so beautiful. Everything is spotless. The breakfast is unbelievable. They have everything you could possible want to make your stay enjoyable. And most importantly everyone there is so nice and helpful. We are so happy to have this place as our little get away to relax and enjoy.

This is a very nice Inn in a convenient location to the White Mountains. Jackson is a very nice little town within walking distance. The staff is very friendly and the accomidations are comfortable and clean, albeit a bit heavy on the floral patterns. We had an electric fireplace in our room and a private balcony, both nice features. We stayed two nights and had breakfast each day. The breakfast could have been a bit better. It seems that the food was prepared in bulk (about 20 rooms at the Inn), and I would have liked a bit more variety.

Our traditional decor draws its inspiration from our classic New England village location. Each of our rooms is decorated uniquely, and some rooms have more dominant floral motifs than others. On a future visit you might wish to consider our Sparkling Cascade, Franconia Falls, or Arethusa Falls rooms which are decorated in richer tones. We provide photos of each of our rooms on our website to assist you in selecting the decor you prefer. We are sorry that our breakfast did not provide the amount of variety you desired. Our first course includes a selection of fruits, juice, two sweet breads or coffeecakes, homemade granola, cereals, and yogurt. The sweet and savory entrees, served with bacon or sausage and toast from a local artisan bakery, both change daily. A number of our breakfast entrees, such as the Eggs Benedict Strudel, garden vegetable frittata with smoked mozzarella, and baked orange croissant or rum raisin french toasts are recipes prepared in multiple servings. However, if you do not wish one of those entrees, we always are happy to prepare an alternative such as scrambled or fried eggs. My husband and I have visited this lovely Inn 4 times over the past decade. The current owners (or the dynamic duo as we like to refer to them) have cultivated the quintessential New England Inn experience. This is a must-stay/see for any couple looking for relaxation, rejuvenation and plenty of delicious morsels to fill the belly and the soul with a slice of Yankee heaven.

Frank and Lyn are the best of hosts when it comes to caring for you at the inn. they really make you feel like family, and that you are most welcome staying in their home. the accomodations are top notch as is the wonderful breakfasts that are carefully prepared each morning. They are both very thoughtful friends who want our vacation in the white mountain area to be the best it can be.

This was our 4th stay at the Inn. Lyn, Frank, Christine and the entire staff are absolutely wonderful. They make you feel at home and just like family. The breakfast and afternoon treats are scrumptious and plentiful. The rooms are so beautiful, clean and comfortable. Every detail and comfort has been provided to you. The Inn is situated so conveniently to do so many things. Everyone at the Inn is extremely helpful in suggesting places for you to see or they will make arrangements and reservations for you. When you want to get away from it all come to Ellis River. Frank and Lyn are extremely helpful. They helped create the perfect 3 night get away! My husband and I relaxed on our balcony listening to the river. The rooms are beautiful and they have special little touches that make the inn unique. We would awaken to the unbelievable smells of breakfast! Lyn helped set up adventures for us hiking, horse back riding, Kayaking. Then massages were needed! We would come back in the afternoon just so we could enjoy the homemade cookies! We needed a get away and it was absolutely wonderful! Thank You!

We had just stayed at 2 other very nice B&Bs in Maine and our stay here was the last part of our vacation. It was just the best! Not only were the owners just so professional and helpful but so was the Inn's manager. Our room was so beautiful and so very clean. We are looking to revisit them again. My wife and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for 4 wonderful days in September 2010. The owners are such nice people and the staff is outatanding especially Christine who overdid herself in the cookie department. The breakfasts were a great way to start the day. IT WAS A MOST ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE!!

We had a wonderful and delightful experience! We were made to feel very welcome and were given a warm introduction to the inn. The breakfasts were awesome! As well as filling. Inn at Ellis River was a hugh sigh of stress relief as soon as we walked through the door. Our greeting and feeling very welcome was immediate. Our comfort level as we looked around became fully secure. All of the staff were attentive and personable and so easy to talk with. Our room was everything we wanted in a romantic, cozy, beautiful, and very comfortable room. The staff could not do enough for us to make us as comfortable as we could be as to even supplying a little table top stand for my fiance's computer. No tiny detail was ever gone unnoticed every day of our stay. The entire inn and grounds is absolutely immaculate. No worries about anything there. Our room was always ready when we got back from our travels and sight seeing and always the best cookies in the world with your choice of coffees and teas. Finally, the breakfast made for us every morning was the best breafasts we have had anywhere, even in restaurants. Innkeepers and staff were very welcoming and extremely helpful in many ways. Our room was charming and the bed was quite comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and more than plentiful. In an area with many charming and welcoming places to stay, the Inn at Ellis River stands out. If you really want to relax, sit by the river and read a good book.

The Innkeepers at The Inn at Ellis RIver want you to be happy and comfortable. My husband has sensitivities to scents and perfumes and the Innkeepers did their best to remove all scents from our room. When that was still not enough, they rewashed towels and bedding so we would have a comfortable stay. They really cared about us. The food was fantastic. The Inn is very relaxing. Sitting in the hot tub watching the river was the best.

The Inn at Ellis River is our favorite bed and breakfast that we've visited. It was clean, beautiful, and serene. The best points were the fantastic breakfast (much more filling than others we've visited, and really yummy), the amenities around the inn (hot tub, pool, game room), and most of all the service. Each staff member was extremely polite and caring, and went above and beyond the norm. Many other places profess to act this way, but these people truly did it. We are eager to return.

This was our first visit to the White Mountains. We did a lot of research and selected the Inn at Ellis River. We were not disappointed by our selection. The B&B is in a great location. Relaxing and pampered stay with attentive staff and innkeepers!

We stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for the 2010 Memorial Day Holiday weekend. We were very impressed by the hosts/staff and their attention to detail. They really took great care of us. If you stay here, don't skip the breakfast! Breakfast is out of this world . . . BACON. You have to try the bacon! This is a great location for just about everything NH has to offer. It is walking distance to a number of fine restaurants, art galleries, shops, etc. Our room was on the second floor of the inn with a balcony overlooking the Ellis River; that was a nice treat. We spent a lot of time on the balcony just relaxing. Having a room located in the main house afforded us the luxury of smelling breakfast being made each morning. Did I mention the bacon? Some inns and B&Bs can be stuffy, but not the Inn at Ellis River. It offers a casual, relaxing environment. It has an outdoor heated pool, pub room/bar that has board games, a pool table, darts, a collection of DVDs, chess, checkers; there's a sunroom with a hot tub; beautiful gardens, a lovely gazebo, where you could sit and enjoy a book or just listen to the sounds of the river. Even if you stayed here during a rainy day/weekend, I think that there is enough to keep you busy. I'm glad that we stayed at the Inn at Ellis River. We will share our fabulous experience with others for sure!

We have stayed multiple times at the inn. The innkeepers and staff are great and make sure you are comfortable. The inn is a great romantic destination. The breakfast included in your stay is to die for.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Inn at Ellis River for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. Every winter we go to Jackson for a weekend getaway. After staying at 7 other places in the Jackson area, only once apiece, we finally found the perfect place, the Inn at Ellis River! My wife and I came here for the second time and were just thrilled with everything. I really liked the room we had with a balcony overlooking the river, as well as the pub, the hot tub and the yummy breakfasts and afternoon goodies and cider. The owners and the staff are all very friendly and accommodating, and helpful with suggestions for restaurants and places to ski and snowshoe. This is also a gay-friendly establishment, which we appreciated. We feel at home here. Can't wait to come back.

We stayed for 3 days over Valentine's Day weekend with 2 other couples. The inn is lovely and immaculate. The owners, Frank and Lyn were wonderful and very attentive and accommodating. They have a top notch staff including Christine who works very hard to make sure all guests are comfortable and happy. The home cooked breakfast each morning is wonderful. Lyn does the cooking and is superb in the kitchen. We stayed in the "Diana's Baths" room and it was immaculate and well appointed. The beds are very comfortable and we slept very well. Although the inn has 21 guest rooms, it did not feel crowded and we had the inn to ourselves during the day as most guests go out after breakfast. We chose to stay at the inn most of the day to enjoy the quiet comfort by the fireplace in the Pub room. We look forward to returning to the Inn at Ellis River next winter.

We visited the Inn at Ellis River for our 22nd wedding anniversary weekend. The Jackson/No. Conway NH area is our favorite vacation spot and this stay made that even more so. The Inn is so quaint and comfortable. The decor is homey and charming, from the sitting rooms to the bar, even the entrance way. Our room was very beautiful, albeit a tad small. But the bed, decor and the jacuzzi tub were top notch. The owners and staff are wonderful. They made every attempt to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious and the service was impeccable. All-in-all we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Inn at Ellis River.

This was our first visit to this part of the country and is is beautiful. Our Inn was cozy, warm, restful and just perfect. The hot cider, warm cookies and blazing fire was perfect after a long day out. Our bed was so comfortable we slept like babies. The breakfast is delicious and the service is first class. A great value for your money. We surely hope to return!

This was our 3rd stay at The Inn at Ellis River. The service was outstanding as always. The owners and staff are very accommodating and eager to please. The room was very clean and was always promptly cleaned the next day. The rooms were very cozy and added to our romantic weekend. The Inn has plenty for guests to do from watching movies in your room, relaxing in the hot tub, to playing pool, shooting darts, playing a game of checkers or chess in their very nice game/bar room. The icing on the cake is the personalized breakfast that is served each morning with a friendly smiling face. The bacon is out of this world. We had an unfortunate event in which our car broke down in which the car had to be toed home. Under the circumstances the innkeepers were extremely accommodating and even offered us to stay a couple of extra days if we chose. You will be very pleased with the outstanding Inn.

We can highly recommend this inn, for so many things you can do in and around this house (TV is absolutely not necessary during a stay at Ellis river). The innkeeper and the staff was so warm, helpful but discreet. We had 4 awesome days at Ellis river!

Our children surprised us with a 50th Anniversary Stay at Inn at Ellis River in New Hampshire. The Lord must have guided their search and choice. Our entire stay was perfect. We had a most restful time of renewal. The innkeepers were especially helpful in recommending local scenic routes beyond the usual. We hope to go again someday.

This was quite a charming inn, with great amenities... atrium hot tub, pub with darts/pool table and games on site, and delicious breakfasts. However, the only things that kept me from giving it top rating were such small things! It's a shame, with just a few touches it could be top rate. The afternoon "goodies" served I didn't deem even to be worth the calories, sorry to say. The lemon bars were the only one that tasted fresh or homemade. Now the warm spiced cider WAS delicious. As for the room, it was delightful, but our "mountain view" also included a parking lot view, and car alarms were going off early a.m., not very romantic, but what can ya do ? However, we chose this room, since as there were two of us, it included two chairs to sit by the fire.. unfortunately the rocking chair I had looked forward to has seen better days and was not comfy. I also had the opportunity to check out another room, and of the two chairs in it, one was practically falling apart and obviously not for sitting on, so there was no place to sit other than the beds, basically. Luckily, the inn was not full when I booked, so I asked for (and received, with no hassle) a discounted rate, and truthfully, that is about as high as I would have wanted to go for the room. Chris was delightful in every way!! Great service, smiling and helpful all the way!! There were numerous helpful boooks/mags about things to do, where to eat, etc. and the 24/7 coffee/tea was great, as well as fridge to store any snacks, ice, etc. Overall it was enjoyable and cozy but just a bit more attention to detail would have enhanced the experience so much more. there were candles in the pub, etc. but none were ever lit that I saw, no fresh flowers or any special touches, but again, I would recommend it.

First Class accomodations all around. Superior cleanliness and service with outstanding breakfast each morning. Lyn and Frank are excellent inn keepers and a pleasure to meet. Hot tub was great bonus after Mt Washington hike. Look forward to returning.

The Inn at Ellis River is the most charming Inn we have ever stayed at. We just returned from our third stay and are already planning our next stay. The Innkeepers see to every guests needs and treat them like family. The decor is immpecable and the rooms are very clean and so comfortable. The food and afternoon snacks are delicious. We wish Lyn could cook for us all the time. We highly recommend the Inn for your next stay in NH. You will not be disappointed.

Breakfast is the absolute best and the afternoon cookies are better than the ones Mom made! (Sorry, Mom) We have been to this inn numerous times and wouldn't even consider staying anywhere else in Jackson. They exceed in every aspect of inn-keeping and if you are travelling north, you really need to stay here and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

This was our second time back to the Inn and we celebrated our 1st anniversary! The Innkeepers treat you like family and when you return it's like you never left. There is much to see and do minutes away! The breakfast bacon is the best!

My husband and I were looking for a place that would give us quiet, peaceful surroundings with beautiful views of the mountains but got the added relaxation of a river that flowed right outside our room (Sparkling Cascade, each room named for an area waterfall). The second weekend in May was perfect for this as the snow had melted and the river was flowing. Knowing how we love the sounds of oceans and flowing rivers this room we chose was perfect for us we left the room door open all night to hear the river. Frank and Lyn and staff were very helpful in choosing our water fall adventure we decided to do. After a full day of hiking the falls to come back to a beautiful room and the jacuzzi was heaven. The little extras in the room from the trail mix and special candy to the goat milk soaps and aroma scent for the jacuzzi ended the day on a perfect note. There is plenty to see and do all around. We have already booked our next visit for the cookie tour package in November and look forward to many more adventures and checking out each and every room in every season. We left refreshed renewed and in love all over again.

Our kids booked this to celebrate our wedding and we had a fabulous time! Excellent service, delicious gourmet breakfasts, and fresh bananas were all a real treat. Highly recommend!

The Inn At Ellis River is a hidden jem, that once you experience it, you will be waiting til you can return. The rooms are beautifully done, each in thier own special way. The entire staff is always friendly and makes you feel like family. My girlfriend and I have stayed there quite a few times over the past couple years and we can't imagine staying anywhere else when we travel to northern NH.

Stay at a beautiful hideaway that is just outside the craziness of Boston and close to great shopping, hiking, golfing. Between the cookies, the best bacon in the AM, you will be sure to love the place!

The innkeepers were so friendly and helpful, as well as other staff. Not only did they make reservations at some exceptional restaurants, but also provided information on fun things to do in the area. The breakfasts were fabulous, but the hot apple cider and fresh baked cookies in the afternoons were great. We will stay at this B&B again.

This was our 3rd trip back to Ellis River. When we walked into the cottage, we felt like we were home. The owners and innkeepers spoke with us like we were old friends! We love this place so much, we look forward to coming back again and again! The room, the atmosphere, the breakfast, everything!

Lynn and Frank made sure we were comfortable and well-fed, as well as well informed about what to do in the area. Christine also gave us lots of useful info. The place is clean, beautifully appointed, comfy, but not stuff. We would go back in a heartbeat!

Lyn and Frank have really set this up to be an exceptional stay. We didn't expect the inn to be so beautiful and to provide such leisure in the evenings. Many places say puzzles, chess, etc. But this one really has it set up nicely in 2 rooms so that several people can be engaged in recreation such as darts, billiards, etc. without being in each other's way. Breakfast was delectable. Very accommodating so that I could still enjoy their breakfast specialties with all my dietary restrictions: lactose intolerant, vegetarian, wheat sensitivities. The bed was the most comfortable we've stayed in away from home! Highly recommend a stay here.

This is the 4th time we have stayed at the inn. Three times in the winter, once in the summer. The innkeepers make you feel part of their family and when you come back from your day's activity, you are always greeted with smiles and delicious treats. We never stay any place else in Jackson!

Loved it, loved it, loved it! Everything about it, hospitality, decor, cleanliness, delicious meals, warm cozy atmosphere. Plenty to do within minutes of the inn in all seasons!

I've stayed at many B&B's and this one is wonderful! Our room was lovely, with a two person jacuzzi, Four poster king size bed .... Our breakfasts were delicious and Lyn and Frank are helpful, accommodating innkeepers - always ready to suggest a restaurant for dinner or fun places to go. Our afternoon cookies/treats were great!

We enjoyed our mid-week stay- as a bonus lift tickets were included. The innkeepers, Lyn and Frank, are wonderful people- great breakfasts and afternoon cookies baked by Christine.

MY BOYFRIEND AND I STAYED HERE FOR OUR BIRTHDAYS IN APRIL AND IT WAS THE BEST EVER... THE BREAKFAST WAS DELICIOS THE BACON WAS THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD, THE PICNIC LUNCH WAS HUGE WE COULDNT EVEN FINISH IT AND THE B-DAY CAKE WAS GREAT...THE ROOM WAS GORGEOUS WITH A WOOD BURNING FIRE PLACE AND A GREAT JACUZZI..THE INN KEEPERS WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT...WERE CALLING TODAY TO BOOK OUR 2ND BIRTHDAY THERE AND I CANT WAIT ...U NEED TO VISIT THIS INN SOON ...

I visited the Inn at Ellis River for a weekend Ski trip. The first thing I noticed about the Inn was the cleanliness. Breakfast was fantastic. I also enjoyed the freshly baked cookies and hot cider in the afternoon. Lynn and Frank, the innkeepers, were so very nice and accomodating. I simply cannot say enough good things about this place! If you are looking for a home away from home, then this is the place to go.

Relaxing, sparkling clean, friendly, food was awesome, close to x-country, restaurants. will definitely return!

I'm sure we'll be back there again. We enjoy it very much. Cozy, quiet, and romantic place.

The Inn at Ellis River is the perfect mix of country coziness and luxury. It is just a wonderful place that hasn't forgotten that the little things matter!! A real getaway!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Inn at Ellis River in Jackson, Vt. Frank and Lynn added many extras such as unlimited tea and coffee, hot cider and cookies and granola bars, informal "happy hour" with hors d'oeuvres, a game and a puzzle room as well as a welcomed hot tub. etc which made it all the more enjoyable. The room with fireplace was cozy and the breakfast was outstanding. We would return for more!

We went here for the first part of our honeymoon and stayed in one of the cottages. It was absolutely perfect. The staff was great, the food was delicious, and the rooms were clean.

From the initial inquiry about reservations to the good-bye hug. The innkeepers are the epitome of warmth and professionalism. Their staff reflects this too. The room was spacious, spotless, and cozy. The meals were spectacular. Special requests were welcomed. It seemed as if each guest was given the exact amount of attention they wanted. This is a warm and welcoming place we highly recommend.

We had a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly.

We have stayed here on many occasions in several of the rooms and have always had a wonderfully relaxing time.

My now fiance and I went to the Inn at Ellis River last Thanksgiving weekend, and stayed in the Thoreau Room from 11/23/07 to 11/25/07. Lyn and Frank (and their daughter-I cannot remember her name!) were the best hosts imaginable! The room was beautiful, cozy, warm, and very comfortable. We joked around that we were staying at Grandma and Grandpa's, because everytime we came back from an outing, they were waiting with tea, coffee, cookies, and other treats. Breakfast was amazing-Lyn is a fabulous cook! Our recommendations are her bacon and the stuffed french toast. When we left, it was very hard to say goodbye. I hope during your stay you will write about your experience in the guest journal that they provide for each room at the inn. Everything was worth it while we were there. And if we can afford it (although the prices are very right), we will be going back for our honeymoon next October, if not, we will at least spend two nights there. The Inn at Ellis River exceeded our expectations. Our room was amazing (Cascading Falls - one of the newer rooms). The breakfast was delicious each morning and don't miss the homemade cookies and treats each afternoon with warm apple cider or tea. The staff was friendly and thoughtful. This was our first Bed and Breakfast experience and it will be hard to beat!

This was our second visit to the inn, and it was even better than I remembered! The food, the staff, the atmosphere: all wonderful!

We're from New England (Connecticut) and decided we wanted the quintessential Northeastern autumn experience for our honeymoon. We couldn't have been happier with our decision to stay in Jackson (after having passed some of the other locations we were considering on the way), and loved our experience at the Inn at Ellis River. In fairness, we stayed in what I believe to be the best room at the inn (the Pearl Cascade room), though Christine was nice enough to give us the grand tour of the unoccupied rooms. They all had that quaint B&B charm, but our room had the 3-sided gas fireplace, the 2-person jacuzzi overlooking the river AND the charm. It really was incredible. Lyn and Frank are tremendous hosts, and are always ready with helpful advice, be it where to hike, where to go for dinner, or what shot to take in pool. Christine and Laureen were as helpful as could be, and do yourself a favor and say hi to Ginger in the office when you go. I'm not sure how many more 5 star reviews the Inn at Ellis River needs, but add ours! We'll be sure to come back next time we're in the White Mountains.

Very impressive establishment, we spent over 10th anniversary here and loved every minute of it! Everything about the inn was excellent! Cannon wait to return. we truly felt at home!

After getting both of our children through college and married, my wife and I celebrated by spending 5 nights at the Inn at Ellis River. Over time there was amazing, relaxing and refreshing! the rooms are very nice and clean. The inkeepers and staff are exceptional. Great views of the mountains.

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Very good service. Great facilities. One of the nicest spots in New England.
