Inn Details

The Oldest Inn in New Hampshire SINCE 1789, the first year of George Washington's presidency, the Hancock Inn has been in continuous operation, hosting thousands of visitors, from cattle drovers and rum runners to aristocracy and a U.S. president. The Hancock Inn is New Hampshire's oldest. The innkeepers provide their guests with the best of a centuries-old tradition of innkeeping in the way of hospitality, comfort, delicious food and privacy. The result is a pleasurable retreat to an 18th century New England atmosphere, with all the modern conveniences of the 21st century. The fireplaces, antiques and hand-painted murals are backdrop to a most romantic setting. They are complemented with authentic foods, music, outfits and a gentility from an era when "Hosting" was a fine art in itself (ah, yes, even before the internet!). Guests often comment that they feel they've gone back in time; the inn presents the finest of centuries past. We are delighted that you have come to visit our site, and hope to see you soon at the inn.
