Ashburn House

Hospitality plus--Carol and Ken invite you right into their home, which is as comfortable as can be. Upon our arrival Carol prepared a tray of delicious goodies and tea for us. The Rose room was as comfortable and cozy as it could be--perfect reading lights over the bed, complimentary small bottle of Pinot Grigio with wine glasses in the room and small Fireplace for added warmth. Both Carol and Ken are fabulous cooks--candlelit breakfast was a most enjoyable feast by the working fireplace. Baked, glazed pear whetted our appetite for the next course of piquant quiche and pecan tarts. Everyone raved about the coffee. Best of all was the welcoming warmth and friendliness of our host and hostess. We enjoyed a happy getaway to Southern NH.

Our stay at the Ashburn House was delightful, with the most gracious hosts, who made us feel at home. The bed was the most comfortable I ever slept in. The breakfasts were very delicious and filling. I would highly recommend it. Thank you Carole and Ken!

The Ashburn House and hosts, Carol and Ken, were wonderful. Felt like home. Carol and Ken are a warm and friendly couple. Their home is very welcoming and had everything and more that you would want when staying at a bed and breakfast. We hope to visit them again when we can get away from our own bed and breakfast.

Ashburn House is everything that my husband and I expect from a B&B and more--what a wonderful start to our vacation in New England! It was obvious that innkeepers, Carole & her husband, have put their heart and soul into this place. The location is wonderful for hikers like us, who are ready for some hearty trails in and around Mt. Monadnock, the rooms charming, and the breakfast very tasty and wonderfully filling. (Evening coffee/tea and sweets also helped!) Carole was a most gracious hostess and made us feel welcome. We definitely recommend this B&B. Thank you! Susan & John, NC

Everything you would expect and more from a quintessential New England inn - beautifully restored Colonial home, gracious innkeepers, delicious hearty breakfasts. Bedroom was nicely appointed with THE MOST comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Innkeepers spoiled us with warm, wood-burning fires in the common area, tea, and popcorn. Water pressure in attached shower a bit weak, but this may be unavoidable given the age of the house.

My new husband and I stayed at the Ashburn House on our wedding night. The room was beautiful and the breakfast the next morning was amazing. Anything we could want was available to eat and Carole and Ken we so warm and welcoming! I would recommend this place to anyone. It is also located in a quaint New England town that is a relaxing getaway.

We have stayed with Carole and Ken at least ten times. The inn is beautiful and well-decorated. The breakfast is fabulous and they are warm and friendly.

Fabulous hosts, clean, clean, clean, with gourmet food. What could be better! A REAL value!

We first stayed at Ashburn House in 2003 when we took our daughter to college at Frankling Pierce. After driving from Texas it was wonderful to have such a wonderful place to rest. We were so impressed that when we left we told Carole & Ken that we would be back in 4 years and we would reserve all their rooms. I am not sure they believed us, but here we are 4 years later and we did in deed take over Ashburn House. What a wonderful time we had, family and friends all gathering to celebrate our daughter's graduation. Breakfast is a feast with wonderfully baked goods of some kind, each morning is a surprise, fruit, tea, coffee and whatever else you may desire. We had our celebratory dinner there also and we were not disappointed. Carole will work with you on a menu to fit your budget! Ashburn House was our home away from home for 5 days and both Carole and Ken became part of our family. We had other guests who stayed at 2 other B&Bs and spent their waking hours at Ashburn House, Carole even fed them when they missed breakfast at their B&B. The bedrooms are uniquely decorated with their own bathrooms, beds are comfy and warm. Service is so much more than you could ever hope for in a B&B. Thank you Carole and Ken for such a memorable visit. We will back again.

My God Daughter's Graduation and we were three adults in our party so just too many to actually stay here as this beautiful home had been taken over by the rest of my God Daughter's family for the Graduation weekend. And what a lovely place it was too with very welcoming hosts Ken & Carole - they went out of their way to make us all feel at home in their attentive but not fussy way, bringing us afternoon tea and cake, preparing a wonderful evening meal and even supplying a breakfast as we missed ours at the Inn we were staying at because of the Mothers Day arrangements we were not told about! They were happy to share all their local knowledge with us and even gave my partner a guided tour of the Ken's cellar and office whilst talking sheep. We know we will definitely stay at Ashburn House when we next visit Fitzwilliam from the UK even if we have to make our dates fit their availability!!
