  • Located in beautiful Southern New Hampshire, the Stephen Clay Homestead Bed and Breakfast is a quaint, and charming 200+ year old historic Colonial home surrounded by beautiful gardens and stonewalls. We have 4 guest rooms, 3+ beautiful and quiet acres in a new england setting. Our B&B is equipped with central airconditioning and wifi. We enjoy our home and hope you will too. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.
    Concord Suite is a two bedroom suite with a private bath. Great for families or just a couple that would like a room with a private bath. The front room has a queen size bed and the rear bedroom has a double and a single bed. This room has the best views in the house with four large bay windows. This room has all the comforts of home including refrigerator, air conditioning, TV, wi-fi, and private bath. This room sleeps 2-5 ppl. Room rate is for 2 ppl and an extra charge for each add'l person.

    Our Formal Dining Room. Sit and enjoy your large breakfast with a cozy fire in the fall or winter. Our dining room is quite spacious and very inviting. We offer eggs benedict as our signature breakfast.
    Exeter Room features a Queen size bed, fireplace and wood floor. Decorated in lovely blue and white linens, this is my favorite room in the house. The Exeter Room has a beautiful view of the church steeple across the street. This room has bathrobes, feather bedding,refrigerator, central air, and wi-fi. Shared bath.

    The Charmingfare Room is a lovely large room with original wood floors and quite spacious. This room overlooks the rear gardens and our lilacs. The Charmingfare room has a queen bed, central A/C, room refrigerator, wi-fi, and luxurious bathrobes. This room shares a bath.

    The Stephen Clay Homestead is a beautiful historical colonial home with 5 working fireplaces nestled at the top of the hill in the center of town. We are surrounded by stone walls and 3.5 acres of beautiful picturesque gardens, lawn and fruit trees. Come enjoy the country and peaceful surroundings.     Fall weekend in Candia, NH

    Our stay was very nice and an exceptional value for the cost. The hosts are very personable and friendly and helpful in suggesting nearby activities and restaurants. Breakfast was plentiful but the quality was not above the average of all B&Bs we have stayed in over the past 20 years.

    We stayed here on both ends of our trip from California to Maine through Manchester airport. It was excellent. We have stayed before and each time it is like visiting friends. The Sterlings are such gracious and lovely hosts. The grounds and home are beautiful. Breakfast delicious. Everything is perfect.

    The rooms were very nice and the hosts were more than willing to chat both about the house and the town. They were quite accommodating. The only downside is the shared bathroom, but the low price combined with the lovely rooms and pleasant location more than make it worthwhile

    Exeter Room

    Our spacious 'Exeter Room' is quite comfortable. This room features detailed woodworking and a beautiful fireplace. It is nicely decorated in soft blues and whites with a queen size four poster bed. This room also has lovely wood floors and with the fireplace it captures the colonial New England atmosphere. The Exeter Room faces the southwest corner of the property with views overlooking the lawn and front stonewall garden as well as the church steeple across the street. A very quaint New England setting. Central A/c, refrigerator, bathrobes, free WiFi. (shared bath)

    The Charmingfare room gets its name from one of the early names of Candia. This room is very spacious and comfortable with a four post queen bed, and has its original wood floors. The views from this room are beautiful overlooking the perennial garden, large cedars, and our beautiful purple lilacs that surround the property.     The Concord Suite is a two room suite overlooking our beautiful perennial gardens on all sides of the two bedroom suite! This suite is surrounded with two large bay windows in each room that has magnificent views of the property. The Concord Suite has all the comforts of home including tv, VCR & movies, air conditioning and private bath. You can keep the children in the back room and put them to bed early as you watch a tv show or read a book. This suite is spacious and has wall to wall carpet. Prices are for 2 ppl and extra charge per add'l adult or child. Refrigerator and free Wi-Fi.

    Beautiful Country Setting

    The Stephen Clay Homestead B & B was the perfect setting for our wedding and Ed & Theresa were the most wonderful hosts. They were very helpful with the preparations and cleanup and very accommodating. The grounds were really beautiful for a June wedding and provided a very nice background for our wedding pictures. You could tell they take very good care of the grounds. The inn itself was very quaint and cozy and the suite we were in was very comfortable. It made you feel at home. Breakfast was also delicious and very filling. I am so glad I found the Stephen Clay B & B to have our wedding at! Thank you Ed & Theresa!
